The council is back to a full complement after the installation as a councillor of Steven Rossall, who attended his first meeting in November. He will represent the Preesall South ward.

Sums for Schools

From 2022 each of the primary schools in Preesall is to receive a sum of £500 a year from the council’s donations budget, an increase from the previous £50 paid for many years. Each school will be expected to report how it spends the money.

Plaques Push

A sum of £1,500 has been allocated to the 2022/23 budget for blue plaques to be installed on buildings in Knott End and Preesall identified to be of interest within the community.

Benches Sought

Two requests have been received for memorial benches on the riverside walk meaning that the five benches acquired by the council this year will all have been purchased by members of the public. A further five benches are to be purchased as requests are still being received for memorial benches.

Focus on Footpaths

Work will start soon on updating the marking of public footpaths in Preesall and Knott End after receipt of a grant from the county council.

Next Meeting

Preesall Town Council will meet next on Mon 13th Dec at 7:00pm at Preesall and Knott End Youth and Community Centre. This is a public meeting and residents are welcome. An opportunity to raise matters is available.
