EDITOR'S LETTER 12

P

assword: self-analysis. In a world as hectic as the one we live in, self-knowledge and self-acceptance is essential in order not to collapse into psychotic overtones. Our mind, contrary to what the well-wishers like to make us understand, is fragile and powerful at the same time. It only takes a click to become bulimic or to feel fulfilled by your life. Becoming masters of your own life and emotions is possible. You have to know yourself, accept your weaknesses, and at that point try to improve yourself as much as you can. Knowing your strengths is the key to self-fulfilment, whether at work or in the arts. By focusing on them, you will more easily and quickly succeed in doing something good, which will finally make you feel satisfied. We should also be careful to limit the 'infinite desire', - as I call it. A purely Western problem whereby we can never stop wanting more, even when we get what we wanted.

Miami Heat Sailing. The wind in your face. The beating heart. The fear of the abyss and the power of the sea merge into adrenalin and the desire for discovery. In a delicate balance between man's creation and nature, we can feel the taste of freedom. But the word boat also rhymes with luxury, and it has always walked hand in hand with fashion. When we think of luxury, freedom, fun and a mild climate, Miami is one of the first cities that springsto mind. What better choice for a boat ride celebrating beauty?

Contrast between innovation and classicism. No longer an obstacle or resistance, it becomes a cue to discover new points of view. "My illness is no longer the usual melancholy [...]: it is a struggle of every day, of every hour against inertia, discouragement, fear; it is a struggle, a contrast in which my spirit is being refined, tempered as a metal separates in the fire from the gangue and hardens. This struggle, this suffering that is both painful and most sweet to me keeps me awake, always ready, in short, it draws works from my soul. Much, in fact, I think I have done and much, I hope, I will still do. " (Pavese, 1925, pp. 13-14).

must have

After the fashion shows in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, it is time for a closet refresh in anticipation of the spring season. This is the time of year when we’re granted a bit more freedom in both our outfit combinations and our approach to textures. The line between ready-to-wear and haute couture is progressively blurring: this year, the focus is on tailoring, on embracing a more contemporary approach to fashion with the widespread use of innovative materials. In addition to redefining the concept of basics, the fusion of these two contrasting dimensions offers a fascinating and stimulating panorama, resulting in an aesthetic that draws from both tradition and innovation. The wardrobe for this season can be described as casual yet meticulously curated, emphasizing the sophistication of the essentiality while surprising with hints of colourful and unusual pairings. It is indeed a return to sophisticated minimalism, with an attentive look on sustainability and eco-friendliness. Pastel tones dominate the runways, creating bold contrasts with looks in more neutral shades. Among the most worn fabrics, lightweight and breathable linen, silk, cotton, and satin took centre stage, showcasing clean and linear cuts. Beyond any trend, the pieces for Spring/Summer 2024 collection are designed to be worn forever, as they embody a minimal style that has firmly entered our lives and it is unlikely to back down to another fashion paradigm in the coming years.

Spring Summer Trends 2024 - Introduction words Martina Tondo

TOTAL WHITE 4. 1. Lightness, freshness, purity. When short on ideas for combinations, flowing lines and colour blocking are always excellent inspirations. Here, a total white look, elevated with warmer toned accessories in cream and ivory. White garments are timeless classics in the summer months, and this season, they’re reimagined with modern details and elegant silhouettes. Among the fabrics, linen, cotton, and pure silk reign supreme. Clean and minimalist lines accentuate the feminine silhouette adorned with romantic details like lace, embroidery, and ruffles. In our proposal, a flowing maxi dress versatile for various occasions, accessorized with Stella McCartney’s flat lace-up shoes and super bold resin bangles by Ben Amun. Alternatively, to complete the look, Andres Otalora’s soft leather belt is perfect for cinching the fabric at the waist, while Alaïa Le Teckel’s shoulder bag adds a unique and design-oriented detail.

DENIM EXTRAVAGANZA 4.

1.

This spring it’s not just about classic denim. Distressed elements like tears, abrasions, and patchwork will continue to be predominant in the denim world, with details that give it a grunge look, as well as embroidery, splatters, vibrant colors, and experimental washes. One such example is Brandon Maxwell’s Cortlandt denim with metallic gold leather details, a classic Texan jeans style reimagined with a panel of soft laminated leather. The best way to accessorize such a statement denim piece is to let it speak for itself or pair it with a full denim look. Pairing jackets and pants in this fabric creates coordinated outfits, chic yet free to be reinvented in a million ways to maximize style options. An example? Maryling’s suit and the maxi dress and shirt combo in maxi denim by Act n°1.

FLORAL...NOTHING NEW? 4.

1.

This year’s floral trend draws inspiration from the beauty of nature and the freshness of spring flowers, evident in bold prints and romantic details. Floral prints are oversized, creating a strong visual impact, as seen in Andres Otalora’s silk Patronal top, which, before cascading along the hips, treats us to a dreamy moment with a pristine white flower applied at the neckline. Flowers are a springtime staple, but they’ve never been so brilliantly hued: sun yellow, fuchsia pink, and sky blue dominate in the embroideries of Loora Pdw’s tops, boldly contrasting against neutral backgrounds in beige or black, as seen in the silk padded jacket with bicolor print Crain Bird and glass bead details. The accessory proposal for this type of look is conveniently neutral: examples include Bottega Veneta’s small Andiamo leather and canvas bag and Johanna Ortiz’s Baquiana gladiator sandals.

FRINGES: THE DEVIL'S IN THE DETAILS 1. Sophisticated looks are nothing without a distinguishing detail. Movement is an essential key for a wide variety of clothing items, such as skirts, dresses, tops, and jackets, as well as bags and scarves. Borrowed from the boho-chic style, fringes make a comeback this spring, flowing to give a free and relaxed air to the look, perfect for the hottest summer days and informal evenings. Here, a dress from Genny’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection merges fringes with sheerness in a luminous khaki detail. Fringes are also excellent for creating sophisticated details, as seen in Loora Pwd’s jacket and shorts ensemble, an entirely non-functional addition but enriching the blazer with a detail that flaunts blatant inspiration from the East.

TRANSPARENTS SKIRTS

4.

1. Femininity and sophistication. The transparent skirts seen on the runways are primarily made of lightweight and delicate fabrics like silk, chiffon, tulle, and organza, allowing light to filter through, creating an ethereal and romantic effect. Loora Pwd and Davii interpret this trend with bold looks, with the undisputed protagonist being the maxi skirt, fluid and floating, adapting to the body’s movement. But there’s more: the proposal for transparent skirts offers various lengths and interpretations of feminine elegance. Alaïa even created a total look comprising a high-neck top and a pencil skirt in Japanese nylon fabric, expressing the transparency trend at its fullest.

METALLICS OVER METALLICS 4. 1. Gold, silver, bronze, or copper: metallic elements add a touch of glamour to any outfit and can be incorporated anywhere, from evening dresses and tops to skirts, pants, and even footwear and bags. Luisa Beccaria provides an example with a lilac look, not only with the winning combination of skirt and belt but also with the addition of a pair of mirrored sunglasses, played with cool tones. Sequins, lights, lame threads, lurex, and metallic organza; designers perceive spring as a game, where women should shine. Chloé’s proposal is a silk satin jacket-trousers set with an hourglass silhouette, accessorized with items that echo the same mood: our choice falls on Paco Rabanne’s handbag with maxi shiny plated discs and a gold-toned chain handle, a bold combination for the women who want to stand out. As for the earrings, the Paco Rabanne’s Link Twist XL, truly fun and captivating design pieces.

WHEN MINI IS TRENDIER THAN MAXI 4

1.

Fashion is a game, and if you truly want to have fun, you have to play your cards right. Short skirts are the absolute protagonists of the mini trend this season. From fitted models to skater skirts, from straight lines to flounced skirts, there’s a wide range of options to choose from. Among the must-haves is Davii’s short dress, with fluid sleeves to pair with mini boots for an urban look. Short pants and miniskirts also deserve our attention: fitted, wide-leg, denim, or in lightweight fabrics, there’s truly something for every taste. Our choice is the fresh Midali look in total red and Norba’s organic cotton miniskirt.

EFFORTLESS CHIC 4.

1.

Minimal style has always been synonymous with timeless elegance. Clean lines, neutral colours, high-quality fabrics, and precise cuts are the hallmarks of this trend. Perfect for the office or a laid-back morning time, these silhouettes are composed of oversized shirts, fluid cuts, and classic suits borrowed from the men’s wardrobe, strictly in neutrals or pastel touches like pale pink. Understated, elegant, and refined, without sacrificing comfort. High-quality fabrics like cotton, linen, and silk provide sobriety and lightness throughout the day. In the picture, Genny’s monochrome look in pastel pink, depicting a woman perfectly at ease in the urban dimension. Accessories make the difference if you want to adapt the look to different situations: sparkling sandals and clutches for a downtown aperitif look or black flats like St. Agni’s leather ones to carry from day to night.

FREED FEMININITY 1. Thanks to the efforts of the “free the nipple” movement and the acceptance of transparency in fashion, femininity expression for this season is strong, bold, and authentic, manifested through dresses that combine sensuality and power. Cuts accentuate the female body in a sophisticated and elegant way: slip dresses, deep necklines, form-fitting tops, trousers that accentuate the curves, and long skirts providing daring slits. Eli Saab’s maxi dress in pink adorned with embroidery and lace is the statement piece of every feminine wardrobe for this spring. Hui and Loora Pwd both propose the maxi organza shirt to pair with mini shorts, strictly tone sur tone. Accessories play an important role in creating this style, with delicate yet impactful jewelry: our choice falls on Simkhai’s Oyster Clutch in pearlescent pink marble effect and Grainne Morton’s necklace with pearls and shells plated in 18k gold.

HIGH WAIST: THE LEGENDARY 80s 4.

1.

With the low-waist trend avoided, the runways for this spring-summer season return to high-waisted pants. This style offers several advantages both aesthetically and in terms of fashion trends, as it can create the illusion of longer legs, a slender silhouette, and a thinner waist. The allure of all things retro is more appealing than the contemporary, as the aesthetics of the 1980s evoke the feeling that the passion for vintage glamour has not left the hearts of designers, as seen in Carolina Herrera’s palazzo pants and Loora Pwd’s emerald green trousers. Completing the look are pieces that recall the same vintage aesthetic reinterpreted with a modern twist, such as Loora Pwd’s gold blazer and Johanna Ortiz’s jacquard fabric blouse, both featuring boldly wide shoulders and voluminous sleeves.

EVERGREEN POLO The passion for vintage continues with the polo shirt, a garment that persist to be present in the spring wardrobe for its versatility and comfort. Eye-catching colours like yellow, mint green, blue, and pink are among the most popular ones. Lightweight and breathable fabrics, such as cotton and viscose jersey, make the polo shirt an alternative to looks that adhere to the sporty chic trend. But not only that, polo shirts are enriched with sartorial details like contrasting collars, decorative buttons, and finishings that elevate it to the level of an elegant blouse. Here, in the total look by Oblique Creations, the greige polo is the protagonist of a monochrome outfit paired with silver accessories for an elegant pre-evening ensemble that doesn’t miss the presence of a shirt or a top. Slim-fit and inspired by the '70s-'80s aesthetic, the polo shirt is presented in colour blocks, vintage graphics, and stripes, wide or narrow. The perfect combination? The one proposed by Etrò with the polo shirt and flared trousers that pays homage to the most extravagant years in fashion history.

We no longer know how to wait. Everything has become instantaneous, in 'real time', as people have been saying for a few years now. The key word is 'simultaneous'. I write an email and wait for an immediate response. If it does not arrive, I get annoyed: why does he not reply? The epistolary exchange used to be the place of deferred time. Envelopes came and went at a slow pace. Not to mention the instant messaging systems we resort to: WhatsApp. Banging and replying. Yet everything around us seems marked by waiting: gestation, adolescence, adulthood. There is a time for everything, and it is never an immediate time. - Marco Belpoliti, In praise of waiting in the WhatsApp era

IDENTITY CHAOS REBIRTH

Each city has a different balance, a union of mechanisms, sounds and colors that coexist and create distinct realities. The charm of chaos and the poetry that characterizes urban balance led us to analyze two apparently different cities but with symbiotic aspects i.e., Naples and Berlin. Both cities have demonstrated that their strength lies in the ability to embrace their history, to learn from challenges and to innovate without losing their authenticity. Their rebirth is a testament to the power of community, culture and identity in shaping a city's destiny. They have been able to capitalize on their unique identity, enhancing their history and creating a balance between tradition and innovation. The resilience of these cities is an example of how culture, community, and creativity can play a fundamental role in urban rebirth and in building a strong and lasting identity. Fashion has a fundamental role in this research as it turns out to be one of the most effective methods to deal with the sociological aspect and the effects that changes and influences have had on people.

Fashion describes, speaks, tells and is indeed the strongest and most immediate testimony; the clothes speak of young people and their vision of the future but they also speak of adults and their relationship between what has been and what will be. They are stories that vibrate through fabrics, colors and combinations, trends that are revisited, seen and adapted to the reality we experience. Fashion speaks of history and popular myths, it narrates the dreams and hopes of people who live and walk on streets that may appear narrow and tortuous. Identity, chaos, rebirth: three fundamental themes through which analyze these two places and the people who live in them, focusing the research on visual languages, and in particular, on how clothing can best speak and express collective identities in continuous redefinition and resignification. Being reborn is a new demonstration of life which, starting from the foundations of one's own or collective past, finds space in a new identity and in a previously unknown place

BE YOU "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken". Said the wise Oscar Wilde in one of his most famous aphorisms. What could be truer than this? Being yourself, accepting your essence without reservation is the only way to be happy. Discover your strengths and weaknesses. To build on the former in order to like oneself more and try to contain one's demons, without blaming oneself too much when one is wrong. Liking oneself is not only a physical matter, getting to the bottom of one's character is also something that can help us have more self-esteem and relate better with others. All this does not mean giving up on improving or evolving, on the contrary. Being at peace with our soul helps us to improve. This is because we finally do it for ourselves, and not to please others.

Beauty products for this spring/summer? The answer is

Skin Minimalism

After the cold season spent rebuilding the skin’s protective barrier, new needs emerge with the onset of spring. In the world of skincare, skin minimalism is the new trend. It derives from the combination of the words “skin” and “minimalism” and represents the search for products to incorporate into one’s beauty routine that are simple yet highly effective. It is time to leave behind the numerous steps of the Korean skincare routine, which, according to experts, is not mandatory to achieve “glass-skin” – a skin so cleansed, purified, and nourished that it looks just like reflective glass. Especially when it comes to the face, over-stressed by the use of numerous cosmetics, skin minimalism involves applying just a few products with targeted and extremely effective formulations. The benefits of skin minimalism are primarily related to time, as we live an increasingly hectic society and the skincare process requires optimization. There is an additional implicit benefit related to cost, since it’s about avoiding product waste and favouring the use of serums and creams that can be reconfigured within one’s routine throughout the year. Last but not least, closely tied to this concept, is the respect for the environment and the pursuit of a higher level of sustainability, reducing the impact of polluting packaging, waste of raw materials, and the eventual disposal of unnecessary cosmetics.

What are the essential products to follow this skincare regimen? To ensure that skin minimalism works, it is necessary to choose products tailored to individual needs: purifying and highly absorbent serums paired with gel-textured creams for combination or oily skin, soothing and moisturizing creams with a richer texture for dry and flaky skin, and so on. Lastly, every skincare routine must be sealed with a sunscreen (SPF30 or higher, as recommended by dermatologists). In any case, if you decide to follow this philosophy, three are the products to use religiously: cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. Here are some products recommendations:

Around two thousand years ago, on an unspecified date between 17 and 18 A.D., the poet Publius Ovid Naso died. As he himself had wished, his verses have continued to be read for two millennia and the stories he had woven into his masterpiece, The Metamorphoses, have become deeply imprinted in our collective imagination. The main theme of the great poem is precisely the transformation from one nature to another: his youths, his nymphs, his women in love, his sorrowful mothers are transformed into stones, into rivers, into fountains, into the aerial echo, into animals, into vegetables. Plant metamorphoses are among the most famous, the recurring subject of hundreds of works of art: one need only mention the myth of Apollo and Daphne and that of Narcissus.

“Caspar David Friedrich: Infinite Landscapes” at the Alte Nationalgalerie (Berlin) 19/4/2024 – 4/8/2024 In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich’s birth, the most important painter of German Romanticism, the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin presents “Infinite Landscapes”. The exhibition is based on the role of the National Gallery in rediscovering Friedrich’s art in the early 20th century, featuring 60 paintings and 50 drawings from Germany and abroad. Friedrich, a pioneer of Modern age, is globally recognized for works such as “Monk by the Sea” and “Abbey in the Oakwood”, a famous example of paired paintings through which the artist expressed human tension towards the infinite and the concept of change. Lastly, the third and final chapter of “Infinite Landscapes” showcases the latest results of Friedrich’s research of his painting technique. “I am a Dragon. The true story of Alessandro Mendini” at the Triennale di Milano (Milan) 13/4/2024 – 13/10/2024 Throughout his career, Alessandro Mendini has created a fairytale world of objects, furniture, settings, paintings, and architectures. Milan hosts an extensive retrospective of the works of the Italian artist, architect, designer, and theorist who marked the revolutions in thought and customs of the old and new millennium. The title, “I am a Dragon”, is inspired by one of the artist’s most emblematic self-portraits, emphasizing the uniqueness of his figure in the world of design. Curated by Fulvio Irace and created in collaboration with Atelier Mendini, the exhibition is divided into various thematic sections and brings together works of different formats, materials, and subjects from numerous collections, both public and private, involving voices from around the world. “Jenny Holzer: Light Line” at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (New York) 17/5/2024 – 29/9/2024 The Guggenheim in New York presents a reinterpretation of Jenny Holzer’s 1989 landmark installation. The new manifestation based on electronic signage extends and develops the artist’s interpretation from thirty-five years ago, unfolding on all six ramps of the rotunda designed by Frank Lloyd Wright up until the pinnacle of the building. The site-specific work will transform the building into a gallery of scrolling texts: from the early Truism series to the artist’s more recent experiments with language generated by artificial intelligence. Master in the representation and manipulation of written words, Holzer will highlight some of the most urgent issues of our time in her most personal exhibition yet, offering the opportunity to encounter the extraordinary, the political, the banal and the provocative through the artist’s pioneering approach to the language medium. “Paris 1874. The Impressionist Moment” at the Musée d’Orsay (Paris, France) 26/3/2024 – 14/7/2024 Paris, 1874: amid a world in full transformation, one of the most important movements in the history of modern painting is born in the French capital. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Impressionism, the Musée d’Orsay reflects on the circumstances that led thirty-one artists to come together and exhibit their works, including the seven pioneers – Monet, Renoir, Degas, Morisot, Pissarro, Sisley, and Cézanne – hungry for independence, who decided to explore new directions: scenes of modern life, landscapes, light tones, and vibrant brushstrokes, captured outdoors, in search of a constant “impression”. The exhibition offers a reflection on the year 1874, considered the birth of a new art era, with a selection of works compared to paintings and sculptures shown during the same period at the official Salon.

An editorial set in the streets of Stockholm. Monochrome hues intertwine with a bold and expressive Bauhaus-inspired palette. Essential, iconic and practical, the Bauhaus style continues to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration in art and design. The school was born in Germany during the so-called 'housing crisis' and completely changed the conception of space, contrasting its minimalism with Art Deco. Geometries, essential shapes, primary colours or black and white contrasts. Aesthetics or functionality? "Form must follow function", and this is how the Bauhaus style spreads and answers the great architectural question.

Quiet luxury: in a world where luxury is understated, accessories must be loud

S/S 2024

accessories words Martina Tondo

Quiet yes, but never dull: if this year’s fashion dictates sobriety, accessories have the challenging task of adding a creative touch. In the Spring Summer 2024 collections, the keyword is simplicity, with a focus on essential and easily combinable garments, practical accessories, as well as bags and footwear embracing subtle and wearable designs. Therefore, for shoes, comfort is preferred over towering heights: ballerinas, Mary Janes, kitten heels, and sneakers, making their surprising comeback after a period of absence among the most popular footwear and also slippers translated into an eccentric urban accessory thanks to The Row. From brands like Miu Miu and Bottega Veneta, bags are offering spacious and practical solutions; belts must be strictly made in leather, like those by on the Saint Laurent’s runway. Perhaps the most unexpected breakthrough concept of the season is beauty translated into comfort: from the flip-flop or “granny-shoe” that has been elevated to a proper shoe for going out, to bags abandoning the “micro” trend to become comfortable, soft, and large enough to contain all the essentials. If the focus is on practicality, elegance becomes timeless accompanied by eccentric touches that add personality to the wardrobe. For colors, winning combinations include neutral navy blue and chocolate brown, and contrasting color such as purple and green, and shades of mandarin and pink. Apricot, peach, and coral, variations of "Peach Fuzz", Pantone’s 2024 color, evoke the warmth of summer and add a touch of liveliness to any look.

Rose, rosae, rosae: all the declinations. Not your usual flower in Spring. There is nothing extraordinary about seeing an abundance of flowers in Spring runways, just as it’s very unlikely for a collection this season to make waves in the fashion world without a floral touch. This year, a specific flower has managed to stand out from the rest of the bouquet: we’re talking about the rose, undisputed star of the runways so far. Not just any rose though. Not only delicate or predominant within patterns, but adorned with all its natural elements: stems, leaves, and thorns. Olivier Rousteing for Balmain made it the centerpiece of his collection: a motif that served as a common thread throughout all the looks. From button accents on suits to fully bloomed flowers in wide applications of petals on crystal or patent leather dresses. Roses, with their long stems, accompany dresses, accessories, and even stage sets. The rose is also 3D-printed in shiny metal details designed by Grace Ling, which physically connect a look composed of a bandeau top and a skirt, all surrounded by hyper-realistic silver thorns. Roses as brooches adorning jacket and pants suits for Carolina Herrera, metal flowers as jewelry wrapping around the ears and necks of the models as ornaments for Palomo Spain. Roses have been seen everywhere: even in leather bags with hand handles and stems brushing the runway floor. When Simone Rocha’s interpretation came, we thought we had seen roses in every possible fashion iteration: with “The Dress Rehearsal”, this is the name of Rocha’s Spring Summer 2024 collection, the designer proposed fresh roses grouped among layers of transparent tulle, interwoven in dresses and jackets. Models wore single stems made of cotton or pearls, and bare legs were adorned with tattoos of red roses, like ballerinas slipping the bouquets thrown onto the stage during the final applause inside their dresses.

LATEST aCCESSORIES Summer accessories that keep us... with our feet on the ground. Among the shoes proposed for this season, there are many “come back” models (think, for example, of ballerinas and loafers), and heels that must strictly be below five centimeters. Designers have thought of reinterpreting sandals and mules creatively, embellishing them with straps, buckles, and details that, in addition to having a practical function, now become an important decorative element. Like the Giselle leather sandals by Aeyde, with just a hint of a heel, a sober version of the luxury sandal drawing from the German concepts of minimalism the combines form and function. A motif that also persists in Neous’ collection made with prime Italian raw materials: among them, the Ibor sandal, a super comfortable slip-on with an essential silhouette, leather body, and wide lined straps. Applications also play an important role for Jacquemus, a master of head-spinning accessories. This is the case with the Duelo pumps, made of linen and full-grain leather with a narrow block heel and a toe decorated with a mismatched application. But as mentioned earlier, the real comeback is that of ballerinas: uncomfortable heights, artificial platforms, and bulky soles are abandoned, but not without embellishments like shiny uppers, floral embroideries, and flashy applications. This model, back in the spotlight, paraded in all materials and was paired with various styles: like the Fendi ballerina in soft nappa with jewel straps serving as anklets, the ones from Repetto with a rounded toe and a bow, and finally those from The Row, crowned favourite shoe by web fashionistas in soft leather and available in a range of soft colors, with just a simple elastic strap over the instep to give a Mary Jane feeling. Simply comfortable and timeless.

LATEST aCCESSORIES Jewelry with no half measures. The new trend for jewelry has decreed that there will no longer be half measures: earrings and necklaces are either micro, or maxi and flashy. Adding jewelry can either elevate or totally ruin a look; it is therefore important to choose the right one depending on the type of impact you want to achieve. Among earrings, a choice of maxi designs like those proposed by Johanna Ortiz, the Stone Town Date, made of leather with a central knot detail. However, necklaces are definitely the most present jewelry on the Spring Summer 2024 runways, like the Legado del Oeste, also by Johanna Ortiz, a true craftsmanship with layers of soft leather fringes detailed with a warm-toned copper alloy, it is the perfect example of how a single accessory can fill the neckline and transform a simple outfit. Among the most seen on the runway, the choker and cascading necklaces: from Dior’s sun choker to Chanel’s accumulation of pearls. A “more is more” philosophy that also manifests in functional accessories: an example is the double belt. Our choices? The Zimmermann LVR Exclusive leather belt in the color of the year, and the Aventurera del Oeste belt in leather with embroidered motif, both to be paired with an airy dress or worn low on the waist to embellish a pair of jeans.

LATEST aCCESSORIES The spring It-bag: raffia, mesh, coated fabric; no matter the material, it must be BIG. Large and spacious models but above all comfortable for the summer? It was about time! Among the proposals of designers, we find essential shopping and tote bags, but also models with special workmanship like weaves and embroideries, perfect for starting the day at the office and accompanying an evening outfit if there’s no time to come back home and change. After all, these are models that best adapt to an increasingly hectic and fast-paced daily life. For textures, innovative materials like net and PVC are given free rein, but also aged leather with a vintage flavor, raffia, mesh, and transparencies, combinable with the most intense vinyl colors or classic silver and gold. Among the not-to-be-missed tote bags are Oscar de la Renta’s in woven raffia and leather, with a classic design made more playful by the fringe detail. And then “Sardine” by Bottega Veneta in fine woven leather, with a soft silhouette and no lining, with a shiny brass handle crafted by skilled local artisans, perfect for day and night, its shape can accommodate all the essentials and more. The mood for this season is as relaxed as the design of Siedrés’ Shrimp bag, an atypical maxi hobo with a suede body, patchwork details, and a knotted shoulder strap design, and like Khaite’s Olivia bag, another maxi hobo but this time in woven raffia, with a enveloping design made in 100% palm fiber.design avvolgente in 100% fibra di palma.

Freed Femininity Sensuality. This word in relation to women often rhymes with something wrong, to be hidden, to be weighed down. Times seem to be changing. Among the trends for spring summer 2024 we find a great deal of sensuality, a femininity that seems to have been liberated from preconceptions and is now completely free to express itself. Hypothetically, of course. In fact, as we all know, outside the underground circles there is still little room for individual freedom of style. Judgement is behind every door and in every street, at all ages, and to be honest, it will be very difficult to eradicate.

ECOLUXURY':

sustainable tourism

LATEST PARADISE

They call it a new trend, but we hope it is not just that. We are talking about luxury travel under the banner of sustainability. This is a topic we cover in almost every issue of Latest, and as the years go by we are actually seeing more and more interest from consumers. Those who have the opportunity to invest in such travel are really starting to feel the need to do so while respecting the nature and culture of the place, without, of course, giving up their own comforts. People are now increasingly informed about climate change, and want to make more conscious choices when organising their holidays. No expense is spared on accommodation, as long as it is confirmed that it is zero-emission, but above all, people are looking for packages that include experiences that can enrich the soul. Helping local populations and the dissemination of their products, contributing to reforestation, discovering the lives of endangered animals and much more. As in the previous issue, we would like to mention the Ecoluxury project. For those who may have missed it, Ecoluxury is a brand that certifies the sustainability of luxury tourist facilities. It has a search list within the site with facilities from all over the world, where you can find out what kind of holiday you are interested in and what kind of experiences you could have there. Thanks to Ecoluxury we have discovered wonderful places, with just as many people, who have invested in sustainability and progress.
