This joint publication provided by the County of Henrico offers a variety of services, events, classes, and programs available through the Division of Recreation and Parks and the Public Library. Our Mission
The Division of Recreation and Parks exists to enhance the quality of life and to foster a sense of well being and community for the citizens of Henrico County. This is accomplished through management of resources and by facilitating leisure services and recreational opportunities in safe and well maintained environments.
Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission
Historic Preservation Advisory Committee
The Henrico Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission represents the citizens of Henrico County and provides them with a voice in parks planning, programs, activities, and services. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Human Services Building.
The Committee advises the Henrico County Board of Supervisors regarding the identification, interpretation, rehabilitation, protection, and preservation of historical and cultural resources located within the County. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30am at the Human Services Building.

Registration forms are available on our website and at our recreation facilities. Please note: Forms will be processed beginning Monday, August 22.
A $50 service charge will be assessed in addition to any check that is returned unpaid as allowed by the Code of Virginia and the Code of Henrico County.
REGISTRATION NOTES & TIPS
JUST IN CASE...
• A minimum number of participants is needed for a program to be held. (Usually evaluated one week prior.)
Refunds: Written requests for refunds must be received 10 working days prior to program start date.
• Registration may be accepted up until one business day prior to the start date, if space is available and enrollment meets the minimum number of attendees.
Satisfaction Guaranteed! If our program does not meet your expectations, send us an email or letter. We will gladly refund your money. (No refunds allowed after first scheduled day of play for adult sports leagues.)
• Participants must be the required age by the first day of the program, unless otherwise stated. • Used our online registration before? Test out your login, and make sure all of your family information is up-to-date!

If you have a disability and will need assistance or special accommodations in order to enjoy a program, check the accommodation box on the registration form and call Therapeutic Recreation at 501-5135 no later than ten working days prior to the program date. Notification is required for each program and new participants must submit paperwork 10 days prior to the start of the program.

Henrico Theatre Company Volunteers
Come and volunteer with Henrico Theatre Company! We are always looking for volunteers to help with set construction, props, backstage crew, costume sewing and ushering.
On the Air Radio Players
The group produces live broadcasts of 1940s radio shows and is also interested in developing and performing original works.

Boot Camp
Ages 16+. Boot Camp mixes cardio, traditional calisthenics, and body weight exercises with interval and strength training. This boot camp will leave your heart pounding while burning calories, toning muscles, getting fit, and having fun! All fitness levels are welcome!
Bosu Cardio Circuit
Ages 16+. Utilizing Bosu Balance Trainers, this class will give you a total body workout that includes cardio, strength training, balance, and coordination work to create a stronger, fitter you.
Cardio Blast
Ages 16+. Cardio Blast combines today’s hottest music with a fun-filled, cardio-based workout. This aerobic workout will feature spontaneous, interval cardio training that will include brief, higher-intensity segments taking the workout into the anaerobic zone. Have a blast while burning calories! This class is designed for all fitness levels.
Cardio Interval Express
Ages 16+. Like to try something a little different from the usual treadmill or elliptical cardio workout? Get results quicker by joining us to experience interval training using numerous pieces of equipment to work out your cardiovascular system, such as jump ropes, steps, battling ropes, and more.
Cardio Kick Boxing
Ages 16+. This aerobic-based class uses kick boxing moves and exercises to give you a whole-body workout that will have you punching and kicking your way to a new level of fitness. No experience or equipment required. This is a non-contact class.
Core Conditioning
Ages 16+. Think you know your core? Come and learn what your core really is with a class that will put all of your core muscles, including the abs, hips, sides, back, glutes, and more to the test.

Picnic Shelter and Gazebo reservations for individuals are now online at connect.henricorecandparks.com. Reservations paid for by organizations must be made in person. For walk-in reservations, proof of residency (name and address) must be presented with completed reservation form and fee. We accept a driver’s license, DMV ID card, or voter registration card for individuals and an organization check and business card or letterhead for organizations. Reservations must be made a minimum of five business days in advance and no earlier than one year in advance. See page 4 for ways to register or request a reservation. Battlefield Preservation and Commemoration with the National Park Service

This class will provide a basic overview of tools and concepts that are fundamental for getting started in Photoshop. Prerequisite: familiarity with keyboard and mouse. Beginner experience with photography encouraged but not required. Digitizing Your Family Photos Mon, Sep. 19, 7:00 PM for adults (age 18+) Interested in digitizing your family's photographic history? Come learn the ins and outs of digital preservation by scanning and the best practices for managing your media. You'll learn how to create your own 3D designs, download pre-made 3D models, and see an object being printed on the library’s Ultimaker2 3D printer. Bring a USB flash drive to save your designs.
