VIRTUAL BUSINESS BOOSTER LUNCHEON RECAP
Discussion about Workforce Development in Henry County Draws Huge Interest The Business Booster Luncheon held on September 17 via Zoom and Facebook Live was a virtual success reaching more than 2,600 and over 1,300 interested viewers of the online panel discussion at press time. The topic was prompted by the recent surge in supply chain logistics and advance manufacturing and technologies that will bring nearly 2000 jobs to Henry County in the next year. The
capability and preparedness of Henry County to meet the employer needs to fill these new positions as well as those of existing employers sparked discussion that was both lively and informative. Hosted by Chamber President and CEO Joseph Henning and adeptly moderated by Robert LeBeau, the Workforce Solutions Group Manager with the Atlanta Regional Commission, the panel assembled
many of Henry County’s leaders in workforce development who brought insight about current programs and many opportunities that exist to support the workforce needs now and in the future. The event is available for on-demand viewing on the Chamber’s Facebook timeline and on its YouTube Channel in the BBL Playlist.

CHAMBER FEATURE
2020 RESPONSE INNOVATION
AWARDS
CHAMBER TO RECOGNIZE MEMBERS FOR INNOVATIVE RESPONSES TO CV-19 Saying that ‘operating a business in 2020 has been difficult’ may be the understatement of the year. Beginning in March with the shut-down of the economy through the summer that saw businesses grappling to re-open, many with crushing limitations, to today, the struggle has been real. Businesses and organizations have had to find creative new ways to serve customers, to safely bring back staff or just stay in business — requiring a level of determination and innovation that rises far above the norm. The Chamber is seeking to recognize businesses, organizations, and individuals that have invented new and creative ways to overcome obstacles uniquely inherent to the pandemic or that have, in some way, met the challenges to sustain, expand or open new lines of business.
