Fun. This was the word of the night as some quirky new additions were unleased

during the 2nd Annual Belles, Bulls & Buck$ fundraiser. Between carnival games, men in hoop skirts strutting the stuff, and ole’ Belle being watched like a hawk while waiting for her to drop her “chips,” there was nothing ho-hum about the evening. Chantelle Head-Atkins was out of the running for the $5,000 with the first number drawn, but her pain was eased with $250 cash. When Belle finally came to terms with the fact she had an audience that wasn’t leaving, she dropped her “chips” in such a way that made both Linda Clark with C & C Fence as well as Jonathan Pierce both $355 richer. Four “belles” qualified to participate in the First Annual Running of the Belles and battled it out across the pasture, bonnets bouncing. Jason Montrois, the top fundraiser, also proved to be the fastest belle, taking home the coveted trophy. Jason and his fellow belles raised almost $1,000 for their respective non-profits. After the last football had been tossed and the cow thoroughly milked, everyone gathered ‘round to see who would take home the $5,000 grand prize in the reverse raffle. One by one the numbers were marked off until only two remained. When all was said and done, it was John Newman, owner of Classic Landscapes, who was holding the winning ticket. “I now know how the costs of the mission trips soon to be taken by my family of four will be covered,” quipped Newman after being presented with his “big check.” The event was made possible by several wonderful sponsors:
