Surgical Services

The Surgical Services Team at FCMC is committed to providing a safe and pleasant experience for all of our surgical patients. Our Operating and Procedure Rooms are both equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including High Definition Video Laparoscopy and Endoscopy Units, LED overhead lighting, Intra-operative Radiography (x-ray) and patient warming devices. Cardiovascular

Dr. Jeffrey Mandak has been serving patients in Fulton County since 1997. He is here Monday-Friday (except Thursdays) for consults and appointments. He also performs Transesophageal Echocardiograms and Cardioversions with the assistance of the Surgical Staff.

General Surgery

Fulton County Medical Center Chief of Surgery, Dr. Karl Riggle (of Tristate Surgeons) has been serving patients in Fulton County for over 25 years. Dr. Riggle is a Board Certified General Surgeon and sees patients for general surgery and vascular needs by appointment every Tuesday in the Specialty Services Department. He also performs general surgery procedures and provides consultation on Emergency Room and Acute Care patients.

Dr. Nicole DeBolt joined FCMC in February 2019. She is a Board Certified General Surgeon who is at FCMC seeing patients and performing general surgery procedures Monday through Friday. She also provides consultation services to hospital and emergency room patients as needed. Dr. DeBolt is available by appointment through Fulton Surgical Services at 717-485-7333.

General Surgeries performed at FCMC include (but not limited to), gallbladder removal, appendix removal, colonoscopy, hernia repair, gastric endoscopy, excision of lesions and lipomas, hemorrhoid banding or excision, access port placement and biopsies.

Orthopedics

Dr. Matthew Espenshade, Orthopedic Surgeon of Arlington Orthopedics out of Harrisburg, has enjoyed seeing patients for orthopedic needs at FCMC since 2012. He is available for appointments every Wednesday and Thursday in the Specialty Services Department. Some of the surgeries Dr. Espenshade performs at FCMC include shoulder and knee arthroscopies, rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel repairs, trigger finger repairs, procedures to help with arthritis and fracture repairs.

Plastic Surgery

Dr. Mark Boland, plastic surgeon, began seeing patients at FCMC in 1987. He addresses multiple skin problems with a focus on cancerous and pre-cancerous lesions. Dr. Boland is available by appointment in the Specialty Services Department on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday twice a month. He performs plastic surgery cases at FCMC as needed.

Thoracic Surgery

Dr. Troy Moritz, DO has been seeing patients at FCMC since 2014. He is a thoracic surgeon who specializes in chest surgery. He performs some related diagnostic procedures at FCMC surgical services. He is here seeing patients every fourth Friday.

Urology

Dr. Jose Prudencio of Urology of Central PA (UCPA) has been seeing patients at FCMC since 2016. Dr. Prudencio sees patients at FCMC two Fridays a month and has clinical interests in prostate cancer, incontinence and kidney stones. He performs surgery at FCMC, including (not limited to) vasectomies, ureteral stenting, cystoscopy, hydrocelectomy, transrectal prostate biopsy with ultrasound and gold marker placement for radiation therapy.

Ophthalmology

Dr. Stephen Facchina began doing cataract removal surgery here at FCMC in 2006. He operates on residents from Fulton County and the surrounding area and has an office based in Greencastle. Dr. Facchina also performs laser eye surgery for the treatment of glaucoma at FCMC. Appointments can be made by contacting Facchina Eye Center at 717-895- 3950.

Podiatry

Dr. Todd Harrison has been meeting podiatry needs of patients in Fulton County since 1993. He is part of the podiatry group, Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, along with Dr. Melody Stouder (top left), Dr. Gregory Smith (bottom left) and Dr. Adam Grahn (bottom right).

Podiatry Surgery is currently being performed at FCMC on rotating days of the month and appointments with surgeons are available at the Specialty Services Department. Procedures include (but are not limited to) hammertoe repair, bunion repair, foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, fracture repair, correction of Charcot’s Deformity, amputation and excision of lesions.

Anesthesia Services

Toby McCarty, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, has been providing anesthesia services to patients at FCMC since 2010. His services include providing surgical care before, during and after surgical procedures, as well as steroid epidural injections and nerve blocks for pain control.
