The High Line is the destination of walking tours that begin at Headquarters at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10. The tours will include a presentation by Kevin Talhelm, distant relative of Greencastle native James Talhelm, engineer of Engine No. 6 on Feb. 9, 1909, when passenger service was ushered in at the High Line.

Visitors also can take a trip back in time and learn about the railroad history of Greencastle and the station during an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. There will be a program at 1 p.m. by Dave McCarney and Gordon Heidelbach on the Chambersburg, Greencastle and Waynesboro Street Railway. Seating is limited and spaces for the presentation can be reserved by emailing highlinetrainstation@gmail. com. Refreshments will be available.

Boy Scout Troops 13 and 99 will have a reunion at the station from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. Randall Ackerman’s collection of historic Scout uniforms and a tribute to John Kinney will be featured. At noon, there will be a dedication of the John Kinney Court of Honor and laying of Eagle Scout bricks.
