As the Greencastle-Antrim area again celebrates its triennial Old Home Week tradition, Music on the Square and Concert in the Park will offer something for everyone throughout the week.

Candy Mowen has been co-chair of the band concerts for the past 10 years and involved with Old Home Week since 1977.

“It’s tradition and I’d hate to see it change a lot, because a lot of our older folks are passing away,” Mowen said of Old Home Week. “We’re … hoping that the torch gets passed to the next generation … that the younger folks really know what it means to the community.”

Mike Bock, co-chair of the Music on the Square, said he thinks there will be a good turnout.

“I think we’re gonna have a bigger crowd than we’ve had in the past,” Bock said. “It may even be bigger because people are now fi nally starting to get out and do things.”

Concert in the Park takes place at 240 N. Carlisle St. at the Jerome R. King Playground Band Shell, and Music on the Square will take place near 2 Center Square.

On Friday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 8:45 p.m., the United States Navy Band Cruisers will play on Kaley Field at Greencastle-Antrim High School prior to the Old Home Week fi reworks at 9 p.m.
