Do not put cash payments in box. City is not responsible for any cash dropped off. Department Registration Policy The City of Hercules Parks & Recreation Department has implemented a Yearly Liability Waiver form that will be effective from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017. Our new liability waiver form will cover all activities, classes, camps, and programs that are provided by the City of Hercules Parks & Recreation Department. Additional program/activity permission slips may be required. One authorized signature from a legal parent or guardian may sign on a minor’s behalf (under 18 years old). Additional family members who are over the age of 18 will be required to provide their own signature to the form. Yearly Liability Waivers will not be accepted by the department without the appropriate signature(s). All registration is accepted on a first come, first serve basis unless otherwise noted in the course description. Participants are encouraged to register at least one week prior to the course start date. Registration payment must be accompanied with a completed Liability Waiver and Registration Form. Programs, services, or activities may be cancelled or combined due to low enrollment. Proof of residency will be required upon registration. Residents are those who reside within Hercules city limits. Fees labeled as NR in the Activity Guide or on print material represent nonresident fees. Because the Activity Guide is prepared months in advanced, the City cannot guarantee all information in the guide is the most current. Contact Parks & Recreation at (510) 7998291 during business hours to confirm class details if needed. Refund and Transfer Policy Refunds or transfers will only be granted on or before the first class meeting. There is a $10.00 service fee applied to all refunds or transfers initiated by participant. If the City cancels a course, the participant will have the option of transferring to a different class or receiving a full refund. Refunds may be issued after the first class meeting due to a medical condition if a doctor’s note is presented verifying the participant is not able to participate. Photo Disclaimer The City of Hercules may photograph or video program participants and recreational users of City facilities and use the photographs or video in its promotional materials. Unless otherwise noted at the time of registration, Parks & Recreation will assume program participants and facility users have given consent to be photographed or videoed.

HELFPUL HINTS FOR SWIM LESSONS

1. Children 9 years & under must be accompanied by a guardian 18 years or older.

Participants must obey posted rules and oral instructions from the aquatics staff at all times; failure to comply will result in being asked to leave the facility without a refund.

2. Children 6 years & under must be supervised and within arms reach of guardian; failure to follow this rule will result in both the child and guardian being asked to leave the facility.

1. Refunds will not be granted after the first class meeting.

3. Only US Coast Guard approved life vests may be worn, with adult supervision. 4. Noodles & small diving toys are permitted during recreation swim hours. No other toys or flotation devices permitted. 5. Smoking, alcohol and glass containers are not permitted. 6. Swimsuits are required to enter the pool. No cutoff shorts, basketball shorts, or street clothes. 7. No photograph or recording equipment allowed in pool area or locker rooms. 8. NO DIAPERS are allowed. Infants must wear a waterproof/ swim diaper with tight fitted elastic around each leg. 9. The City will close the pool facility if there is: Thunder and/or lightning Heavy rain and/or hail High winds Mechanical Failure Environmental hazards

2. Please be on time to class; we do not provide makeup classes for missed time. 3. Please make sure your child has a swim suit, towel, and plenty of sunblock. For children in diapers, swim diapers must be worn in the pool to help protect against waterborne illnesses. Goggles and swim caps can be worn during class (no nose plugs or full face masks). 4. Classes will be cancelled when severe weather conditions (lightning, thunder, hail, etc.) are in the area. Staff will follow local weather reports for the latest conditions and will notify you if class is cancelled. Otherwise, class will be conducted rain or shine. In the event of severe weather class cancellations, you will be given a household credit for the missed class. 5. AQUATICS EAST BAY SILVER DOLPHINS (EBSD) Ages 5-18 Practice times are based on your child’s swimming ability; all swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted prior to joining the swim team. Swim practices will be held at the Community Swim Center. Coaching staff evaluate each swimmer and place them in their designated practice time. One week trial for intermediate and advanced swimmers only. Annual USA Registration Fee: $80 (checks made payable to EBSD)

TINY TOTS PROGRAMS Our program offers 4 phases of learning adventures to prepare your child for their upcoming school years. Staff teaches a theme-based curriculum with an academic component. Our programs will offer children the basic learning skills of language, fine motor skills, communication skills, socialization shapes, colors, numbers and gross motor development. Our Child Care programs provide a nurturing, caring environment with a variety of age-appropriate activities and events. Our talented, courteous staff are CPR/First Aid certified, with accredited college units and trained in school-age programming to provide the ultimate child care services. Our goal is to create a pleasant, fun, secure & caring environment. Your child must arrive to the Lupine Child Care site no later than 8:00am in order to be transported to Ohlone Elementary School. The Before & After School Child Care must meet all minimum enrollment numbers per Parks & Recreation requirements. We will review all enrollment numbers on August 1, 2016. Minimum of 9 children must be enrolled in each Before School Care program, and a minimum of 14 must be enrolled in After School Care.

OUTDOOR RENTALS FIELD RENTALS

PARK GATHERING PERMIT

Reservations are required for the use of the fields at Hanna Ranch and Woodfield. Reservations will be received on a first come, first serve basis.

A permit is required for any gatherings of 50 or more people in any City park. The permit can be obtained at the Parks and Recreation Department, located at 2001 Refugio Valley Road, between the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Groups of 50 or more are encouraged to apply for the permit at least 30 days prior to their intended park usage to allow the City appropriate time to review and consider the request.

Picnic tables are now available for rent! Renting the picnic tables will be able to ensure that you have a space reserved for your party. The rental times are for a 9 hour duration which include a deposit which would go back to you as long as all garbage was thrown away and there was no damage to the tables.
