The Tiny Tots program is designed to develop the “whole child” in all aspects of your child’s development . We encompass and enhance social and emotional development through directed activities, play and instructional material, and so much more. Children must be the required age by September 1 of the school year in which they are registering. Children must be fully potty trained (no pull-ups please). We now have 3 payment options! The Breakfast Club is an exciting new morning program coming this Fall 2017! Located at the Hercules Teen Center (2007 Refugio Valley Road), this program begins at 6:30am and is for grades K-8th. Participants will enjoy arts & crafts, homework help, and other fun activities. Hungry for breakfast? You can purchase a 10 Breakfast Meal Pass for $10 or a 20 Breakfast Meal Pass for $15 to make mornings easy! Participants must be dropped off at the Teen Center no later than 8:00am, and will be dropped off at their designated school by the first bell. Hanna Ranch Elementary School will be the first stop since Kindergarten begins at 8:10am. City vans will shuttle all participants to their designated Elementary School, and Middle School students will be walked across to the Middle School. Option A: $100 registration fee and 10 payments. Recreation Afterschool Program (RAP) Grades: K-5th grade

Participants of the Kaleidoscope Kidz Recreation Afterschool Program will enjoy a variety of activities including inside and active outside games, art & crafts, cooking, nature, drama and more. A “homework classroom” will be available for one hour for those who need some quiet homework time. Staff will be available to assist if needed. Participants that do not have homework can enjoy an outside group game or art project. Our goal at Kaleidoscope Kidz is to create a pleasant, fun, secure & caring environment. All staff are CPR/First Aide certified and trained in school-age programming to provide the ultimate experience. We look forward to working with your child! THE SPOT is just the place to get help with homework assignments and socialize with your peers in an exhilarating, fun, and safe environment. Our staff are there to provide mentoring and assistance in all areas. Annual $100 registration fee per child due at time of registration

The Teen/Youth Council is always on the go, supporting and assisting with Community activities and special events. Our energetic group of teens and youth demonstrate leadership skills through their contribution, participation and interaction with the Hercules Senior Center, and the planning of Teen/Youth special events. Online Driver’s Education-NEW!

This online Driver’s Education course is provided by Safety Driver’s Ed. DMV allows teens to receive their Learner’s Permit at age 15 ½ and a license at age 16. This class is the FIRST, required step that must be completed. This is an online course with videos, animated driving scenarios and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures, etc. A licensed instructor is available to answer any questions. Receive DMV-approved certificate of completion. Adult boot camp is a 45 minutes training program that will improve your balance and body coordination as well as increase toning and firming. You can expect high intensity training with specific full body exercises designed to have an impact on physical well-being and max fat-loss. This program is designed for 18 years and over. Reservations are required for the use of the fields at Hanna Ranch and Woodfield. Reservations will be received on a first come, first serve basis.

A permit is required for any gatherings of 50 or more people in any City park. The permit can be obtained at the Parks and Recreation Department, located at 2001 Refugio Valley Road, between the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Groups of 50 or more are encouraged to apply for the permit at least 30 days prior to their intended park usage to allow the City appropriate time to review and consider the request.

The City of Hercules Parks & Recreation Department has implemented a Yearly Liability Waiver form that is effective until July 31, 2018. This form covers all activities, and programs that are provided by the City of Hercules Parks & Recreation Department. Additional program/activity permission slips may be required. One authorized signature from a legal parent or guardian may sign on a minor’s behalf (under 18 years old). Additional family members who are over the age of 18 will be required to provide their own signature to the form. Yearly Liability Waivers will not be accepted by the department without the appropriate signature(s).

Participants are encouraged to register at least one week prior to the course start date. Registration payment must be accompanied with a completed Liability Waiver and Registration Form. Programs, services, or activities may be cancelled or combined due to low enrollment. Because the Activity Guide is prepared months in advanced, the City cannot guarantee all information in the guide is the most current. Contact Parks & Recreation at (510) 799-8291 during business hours to confirm class details if needed.

Refund and Transfer Policy Refunds or transfers will only be granted on or before the first class meeting. There is a $10.00 service fee applied to all refunds or transfers initiated by participant. If the City cancels a course, the participant will have the option of transferring to a different class or receiving a full refund.

Photo Disclaimer

No cash allowed. Registrations will be processed in the order they are received on the next business day.

The City of Hercules may photograph or video program participants and recreational users of City facilities and use the photographs or video in its promotional materials. Unless otherwise noted at the time of registration, Parks & Recreation will assume program participants and facility users have given consent to be photographed or videoed.
