GOLF
This past weekend we had our first frost of the fall season. It was a really light frost and burned off quickly but it is a sign of things to come. Walking and driving carts on frost can do significant damage to the turf. Injury to the plant that will be noticeable for several weeks is almost guaranteed and complete death is even possible. If you see frost out on the golf course please stay off and check with the pro shop regarding start times for the day. The grounds staff will do everything we can to minimize the delay.
As we enter the last couple months of the season it is even more important to fill you divots and fix ball marks. Due to the cooler temps growth rates have slowed down dramatically and it will take even longer for divot or ball marks to repair themselves. If nothing is done, they will more than likely still be noticeable next Spring.
Approaches, fairways, and a few tees will all be aerified over the next few weeks. Drill and Fill on greens is scheduled for Nov. 10th and 11th, more details to come as we get closer.
