It’s coming (slowly). New bentgrass plants are starting to emerge for the damaged areas in the fairways. We have been working our way around the golf course overseeding fairway spots and are starting to see some results. To protect the new seedlings we will be putting up ropes and cart signs over the next week.
We ask that you do your best to adhere to them and keep your carts off the damaged areas of turf. After a couple of weeks the seedlings will be mature enough to handle cart traffic and we will remover them. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
Ball marks and divots- First off, a big thank you to the members who are filling extra divots every time they go out. It is much appreciated. I would remind all players it is your responsibility to fill or replace divots in the fairways and repair ball marks on the greens. My staff fills divots on tees on a regular basis but we do not have the man power to cover fairways on a consistent basis.
19 Green-19 green has responded well to the overseeding program we put in place a few weeks ago. There is significantly more bentgrass in the green now and it should hold up better to summer and winter stresses in years to come. We have started the process of slowly lowering the cutting heights as it continues to fill in.
I hope to have the green back open for play by the end of September.
