Win a Prize for Contributing to Knollwood’s Audubon Certification Wildlife Inventory By: Anne-Marie Brillantes In the pursuit of environmental stewardship, Knollwood Country Club has initiated an application for Audubon International’s certification program. Audubon Certification provides golf courses a framework to enhance their ecological practices, promoting habitat conservation, water management, and chemical reduction. It signifies a commitment to creating and maintaining environments supporting diverse wildlife while engaging the community in conservation efforts. The Role of Wildlife Inventory One essential step in this application process involves conducting a comprehensive wildlife inventory. This inventory is not only needed for certification but will also benefit the overall health of the course’s ecosystem. Cataloging the various species that inhabit the golf course will help to understand the ecological impact of any plans for golf course management and improvements. Using iNaturalist.org for Our Wildlife Inventory iNaturalist.org is an invaluable resource for conducting a wildlife inventory. This platform allows users to record and share observations of plant and animal species, making it a powerful tool for tracking biodiversity. Knollwood CC has created an account on iNaturalist.org which will serve as a centralized place for all observations and data. iNaturalist provides a user-friendly interface for uploading photos and recording details about each sighting. iNaturalist also provides tools to analyze the collected data. The platform offers insights into species distribution and can help identify any trends or changes in the local ecosystem. Finally, iNaturalist can compile the observational data into a report for sharing data. Help Us Compile our Wildlife Inventory and Win a Prize To gather as much data as possible, we want to promote everyone’s participation in compiling our wildlife inventory. If you are out on the golf course (or anywhere on Knollwood’s property) and see ANY wildlife, try to take a full frame picture and simply email it to us at KnollwoodCCgrounds@gmail.com. If you can add a brief note to say when and where the picture was taken, that would also be helpful data! All photos will be curated by our committee and posted onto Knollwood’s iNaturalist.org account. You can all follow our progress by finding our account: KnollwoodCC_NY. Audubon Certification will support wildlife efforts and certainly enhance the profile of our Club. Help us achieve certification by contributing to our wildlife inventory! The Member(s) submitting the most photos ultimately added to our iNaturalist.org account by April 1, 2025 will win an Amazon Gift Card for $100! Thank you for supporting our efforts for Audubon Certification and ultimately the ecological health of our club!
Wildlife Inventory Submission Contest The Knollwood member(s) submitting the most photos to us at KnollwoodCCgrounds@gmail.com by April 1, 2025 will win an Amazon Gift Card for $100! Your photos will be added to our wildlife inventory account, KnollwoodCC_NY, maintained in iNaturalist.org.

Scott will create a golf-specific exercise/stretching routine based on your physical limitations. Scott is also a golf teaching professional that is certified through the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF).
Just Interested In Overall Fitness?
Scott will teach you how to use resistance training to increase muscular endurance, size, toning and strength, as well as cardiovascular conditioning. Scott will then tailor a workout routine based on your specific goals. As with any proper workout routine, a sound nutrition plan must be in place in order to reap the full benefits.
