GOLF OUTING GUIDE

FIRST THINGS FIRST REGI STRATI ON Stanton Ridge will provide 8-foot banquet tables for your registration. We can also assist with the hanging of banners (with advance notice) and supply you with easels, clip boards, administrative supplies, and any other items you may require. Please check with our tournament staff to arrange the details of your registration area. GOLF CARTS

Stanton Ridge will provide golf cart signage that will include guest names (per the pairing list you provide four (4) days in advance) along with scorecards, rules of play and the starting hole assignments (for shot gun starts). If you are partaking in any of the contest suggestions, contest rules and hole assignments will be included in the carts. As your guests arrive, our tournament staff will be here to assist your players with their golf bags and starting hole, as well as direct them to their registration area. They will also assist them to the appropriate golf cart. PRACTI CE FACI LI TY Complimentary practice facilities are provided for your guests that include unlimited balls at the driving range, use of the putting green and practice time on the chipping green. We suggest your guests arrive no later than one (1) hour prior to start time to utilize the practice facilities. The practice areas are within walking distance. For shotgun starts, carts will not be permitted to leave the staging area prior to the start time. For tee times, guests are welcome to take their cart to any of the practice areas.

COURSE SI GNAGE / SPONSORSHI PS Our event staff will place your course signage in the appropriate areas prior to your start time. We do, however, require signage to be delivered and assembled the day before the event as some outings require more time than others.

START TIMES / INTRODUCTION Our professional event staff will direct your guests to be seated in their golf cart fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start time of the event. At this time, our PGA Professional will welcome your group, review the rules and regulations of the tournament, present the contest guidelines, answer any questions, and assist with directing the groups to their starting hole assignment.

PACE OF PLAY Stanton Ridge event staff will oversee the pace of play on the course throughout your outing. We ask that groups keep up with the group in front of them to assist with getting all the guests through the course in a timely manner.

SCORI NG Our PGA Professional will score your event as your groups complete their round. After all scores are posted, our event representative will provide you with an organized, detailed list of your tournament winners, places, and contest champions.

DRESS CODE

Appropriate golf attire is expected for all players on the golf course and practice facilities. Appropriate attire is as foll ows: •

Women: Dresses, skirts, slacks, or golf shorts and shirts or blouses are considered appropriate attire. Halter tops, T -shirts, fishnet tops, bathing suits, sweatpants, jeans, tennis dresses, athletic shorts, or cut -offs are not permitted.

Please make all clothing changes, including shoes in the Locker Rooms

Improperly dressed golfers will be asked to change their clothes before playing.

FORMATS & CONTESTS

CONTESTS CLOSEST TO THE PIN

Our dedicated golf professionals will assist you with choosing your event format and locating the perfect holes for proximities such as the longest drive, hole-inone and closest t o the pin. They can advise you on your player’s list and hole assignments, as well as suggest additional contests for the enjoyment of your guests.

This is a popular contest to have for any size group, at any skill level. Stanton Ridge will provide a proximity sign marker for your contest. This is typically held on par threes. The golfer that hits his or her shot closest to the pin is awarded the winner. Some groups will have separate contests for men and ladies, but it is not always necessary. LONGEST DRI VE

FORMATS SCRAMBLE The Scramble is probably the most common format for team tournaments (and the easiest format for varying skill levels to compete together). It can be played by 2, 3, or 4 person teams, and involves choosing the best shot following every stroke, with each team member then playing again from that one spot. BEST BALL Best ball can be played using 2, 3, or 4 person teams. Each player on the team plays his or her own golf ball throughout the round, and on each hole the low score – or “best ball” – of the group serves as the team score. I NDI VI DUAL STROKE PLAY “Stroke play” refers to a round of golf in which the score is kept by adding the cumulative total of strokes taken throughout the round. This format is often used for competitive golf. Each player plays their own ball for each hole and records their individual scores. This format is usually used with smaller groups that wish to play a more competitive style of golf. Using this format for large outings can sometimes make for a longer round of golf and may be frustrating to your more inexperienced golfers.

This is similar to the closest to the pin contest. In this contest the prize is awarded to the player who hits the longest drive on a designated hole. Stanton Ridge will provide the proximity sign marker for you. The winning drive must remain on the fairway. It is often recommended that a separate contest be held for men and women for this type of event. STRAI GHTEST DRI VE In this contest, a line is drawn down the center of the fairway. The winner is designated by the player who hits his or her tee shot closest to the line. Distance is not the objective here, accuracy is! BEAT THE PRO For this contest, the object is obviously to “Beat the Pro”! Stanton Ridge will provide one of our PGA Professionals on a par three. The participants can wager any amount of money or buy tickets, or however your organization chooses to enter. If your guest gets closer to the pin than our PGA Professional, they win. This is a fun way for your participants to take their chances against one of our PGA Professionals. (Please note: There is an additional fee for this contest.) CREATE YOUR OWN It is our pleasure to assist you in creating any special contests you may want to have for your event. Additional examples include closest to the wavy line, hole-in-one, or longest putt.
