AMELIA ISLAND/FERNANDINA BEACH
Located on the Georgia border about 30 minutes north of downtown Jacksonville, this Victorian seaport village was once a place for pirates, adventurers and shrimpers. This mesmerizing island was granted the nickname Isle of Eight Flags after eight national flags claimed ownership of the island. Residents can visit the oldest saloon in Florida in the historic seaside area of Fernandina Beach.
