AMELIA ISLAND/FERNANDINA BEACH Located on the Georgia border about 30 minutes north of downtown Jacksonville, this Victorian seaport village was once a place for pirates, adventurers and shrimpers. This mesmerizing island was granted the nickname Isle of Eight Flags after eight national flags claimed ownership of the island. Residents can visit the oldest saloon in Florida in the historic seaside area of Fernandina Beach. The area is made up of many desirable neighborhoods and communities with many different highlights offering large pieces of land, cozy homes and sprawling estates.
