Track Meet

April 21, 2015

Track Meet 101 Volunteering at my first home track meet was a great experience! Despite the heat, the event went very smoothly. Starting at around 4pm, volunteers helped out with the timers for each of the competitors as well as cheering on all our friends on the team. Throughout the meet, there were several events that went on as the members that attended sat on the bleachers and got to hang out. It was really fun watching both our track team and Bishop Gorman compete in all of the events!

Freshmen Orientation

April 28, 2015

Bringing in the New Members On Wednesday April 28, 2015 , Liberty High School Key Club hosted a booth at our home schools freshman orientation. Our booth informed the upcoming freshman on what Key Club is, gave information on when we meet, and asked us how we felt. It felt very nice to see the freshman gaining some interest on key club and seeing them sign up. We got 23 people to sign up and we're looking forward to all the future faces next year. .

OTC

Mary 2, 2015

You can always learn! . OTC was interesting. I was able to learn

from Daniel Lang and Tatiana Lim. We were also able to see some examples and see the standards. They also gave us some cool apps that we should use such as reminder 101 and issue.com. They also told us not to use social media to often. I was also able to see a video made by Tatiana Lim. After watching this video it has also inspirited me to make videos about our club.

Spread The Word Nevada

May 9, 2015

Here’s to a New Term Spread the Word Nevada was a great event. Once we arrived, a kind woman greeted us and there weren't many people. When the event started, the head organizer explained to us about what we were going to do and how it helps the community. So we basically clean books to give to schools that can't afford them. Also, the ones that are too broken, drawn upon, and inappropriate for children were recycled. We started off with two boxes and slowly, but surely, finished it. Some books we found reminded us of our childhood like" Where the Wild Things Are". On the other hand, there were books that were too mature for kids to read like a book I found called " Everything You Need to Know About Pregnancy". Throughout the event, other people arrived to help and we all pitched in to clean as many books as possible. It was also fun talking with my friends and seeing their reactions to the different books we cleaned . In the end, we were able to finish eight boxes of books which filled two and a half big bins. Spread the Word Nevada was a great experience and I really enjoyed this event . -Kateleen Macaraeg (Historian)
