„I am an avid hobby photographer and an Engineering Consultant. I started photography about 10 years back and more seriously about 4 years back. I used to paint while in school (water colours) and I believe that photography is an extension of that art form. My work allows me to travel and I also take time of to travel exclusively for photography. It is very fulfilling. I lost my wife 5 years back and photography is helping me to manage my grief and solitude greatly.“
„Although I love to shoot in colour, I am more drawn to Monochrome/ Black and White pictures. There is something in the play of light and shadows that draws me closer. There are some pictures that look good only in colour as also not all pictures are suited for monochrome. I use Lightroom to post process my pictures - essentially for contrast, etc. I am not a fan of Fotoshop and believe that one should not tinker with the basic contours of the pictures. Post processing should enhance the pictures and not distort it. I use a Nikon D600 mostly but also use my iPhone 6S - especially on a day to day basis.“
I am a self taught photographer who learnt my trade by watching hundreds of thousands of pictures on the net. When I look back to my pictures of 5 years ago to today‘s works, I see that I have grown as a photographer and my pictures themes and perspectives have changed. I am pleased with the changes I see in myself. I want to explore the world and visit places I have yet to see. I love Europe for its old buildings and cobble stone streets. It‘s perfect for my architecture shots.
