The outter circle is a round of commercial shops. I tried to extend the existing laneways into the site from street. The civil square is at the intersection of the two laneways with running to all four directions. Any other building are all spreading our from the center.

Feedback from tutorial 1.Need more iterations and quick hand sketches to test ideas. 2.The civil square is not building, mark it with shade to differentiate. 3.The car parking need a little bit think about. Feedback: Be careful with the IGA track routes. Leave enough space for the routes. The civic square is open and all the activities would face to the corner of IGA. So that the boundary need to be considered carefully. The building at the lonsdale st side is also need to considered.

Reflection for Minor Project 02 Iteration/tests Hand sketches is really a good way to test ideas and make a little changes through the process. The idea would become clear when you draw them down onto the paper. I would keep developing my strategies along with my design intent through the rest of the semester. Research The graphic style I feel like the graphic style need be a little bit careful. The level of sophistication needs to be improved. The site plan I have drawn. I tried to add some textures onto the roof and also some landscape for the greenery area. It is obvious that details help the graphic style of the whole drawing.

I used the ground floor plan as a base to test the idea of the first floor plan. I also use this time to calculate the foor print of each building.
The break down spaces of the interactive center for children inhence the connections between existing and new buildings. There are circulations between different areas.

Week 5 tutorial feedback -think about use different materials of buildings, civil square, laneways -combine some of the building such as gallery and museum -break down the design -attach to the existing building -consider the secondary spaces, small gallery, info center -retail & restaurant moved, the relationship of each section -from public to private -diagonal clear form the central space -small elements such as 7,5, could reused the church -entry point -section where to cut -graphic: the hierarchy of the title and scale.

Something to think about from the Mid sem review... -the surrounding of the building, the shape is quite linear shape, the new design looks like attached blocks Is the new design relate to the existing condition or totally new -how to extend the civil square to the surrounding block even to the whole township, any other way except the laneways -the relationship between the building the greenery area -the public toilet is at the back of house, however, it is also the entrance of one of the laneway position it well -the size of each architecture need to be considered carefully

1: 20 section process The overall structure is mainly reinforced concrete. Foundation is concrete footing and slabs. It has got automatic sliding glass doors for the main entry. The interior would be same as the structure. There are two stores with a roof garden.

1: 20 detailed plan For the building, the facade would be concrete with internal timber stud wall. There are double glazing. The double swing door being as a secondary entry with fully glazed. As for the flooring, the inside of the gallery will be concrete floor, the wooden platform is acting like a transition from inside to the outside garden area. For the area in-between, it is good to have moment to site whether on the timber deck or concrete bench without worrying about the rain.

WEEK11 Precedent Study Paicherou Aquatic Center / Taillandier Architectes Associes (https://www.archdaily.com/969511/ paicherou-aquatic-center-taillandierarchitectes-associes) I was interested in the material palette of combining concrete and wood. This precedent has got a concrete shell to express a way of transparent with a interior layer of glass facade. As for the ceiling, they used timber ceiling to make a contrast between concrete construction.

Perspective iterations I tried to capture 2 views from the model to test the perspective view. The first one is looking from the Lonsdale St to the gallery showing the corridor under the canopy. I re-considered the boardwalk and the canopy on the first floor, which could be related ebing as a continuous circulation of the walkway.

Perspective process I tried the collage style to present the perspective view. The wooden platform follows the terrain level extends from the center to the periphery. There are three layers of wooden platforms on different levels. All layers create continuity between each floor.

Isometric Drawing This is captured from the rhino model. I tried a parallel view of the southeast angle. I think this angle could show the relationship between building and outdoor platforms well. I used this image as the material base of the drawing. And then I added up linework, shadow people figures, and trees.
