Alcan Recycling Program Comes to an End

As we continue to build we are looking for your help in donating services or supplying material to: Install drywall, mud & tape;

With the purchase of Alcan by Rio Tinto, the Alcan Recycling Program has come to an end as of April 2008. However, Rio Tinto Alcan will still continue to support Habitat for Humanity through grants.

Provide carpet and installation;

Habitat Canada is negotiating with a new partner to continue the recycling program and once that partnership is established we will let all our enthusiastic can collectors know.

Excavation, including a backhoe and operator, plus trucks;

Donate material for interior trims; A crane for a day to move stuff around on the site; And for Phases 5 & 6;

Aggregate and under-slab drainage and rainwater drainage; Electrical and plumbing.

In the meantime, a special thanks to those of you who have helped collect cans and receipts over the last three years. We really appreciate the time and effort you have put into helping us— and the environment!

If you or someone you know can help, please call the office at 604-681-5618.
