We have opened the Young Engineers Workshop for weeks of fun, creativity, and of course engineering! This class has been designed specifically to help establish the necessary foundational information that defines engineering. With basic household and specialty supplies, the students will build projects that float, fly, zoom, buzz, and hopefully stand strong! Miss Ayana’s Dance class will help young dancers learn primary terminology, and the basic foundations to begin ballet and jazz technique. Class includes a floor stretch, and across the floor steps and has more time built in for fun activities. This class will give students who have already taken Miss Ayana’s ballet class more time to explore their creative movement, with a focus on creative dance activities, like freeze dance, ribbons, animal action, and many new movement-based activities. The class is designed to teach flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness using gymnastics skills while building positive self-esteem in a relaxed, fun, yet challenging atmosphere. We offer a non-competitive program that builds gymnastics skills through progressions, implementing a variety of age-appropriate equipment and training aids as well. All Airborne instructors are USAG and safe sport certified. Skills taught include: Forward & Backward Rolls, Handstands, Cartwheels, Bridge Ups & Bridge Kickovers, Pullovers, leaps, jumps, hops, and walks on beams. Students will work on body control and will focus on building strength and flexibility, which is an important part of gymnastics.

Put on your lab coat because it’s time to blend Culinary Arts and STEM together! In this program, we will explore the science that happens in your kitchen every week. We will learn about tools used by cooks and chemists, acquire food preparation techniques, discover the origins of flavors you’ve come to love and so much more. Some of the exciting topics include: What is the Maillard Reaction? What causes popcorn to explode? What are ratios and how do they relate to baking? How does emulsification and suspension help us make salad dressing? New Topics are covered each week throughout the school year.
Note: In some lessons, students will be exposed to, prepare, consume, or take home a variety of food items. We will inform you in advance of food items we will utilize each week. However, we are rarely able to make substitutions due to the chemistry-focused nature of the lessons. Students will showcase their unique voice and perspective through the creation of original lyrics. We will meet weekly to explore the creative and technical aspects of Songwriting. This is a great class for students to learn creative writing skills, poetry, storytelling, self-expression, spelling, and confidence building. Children will learn how to record lyrics for memory keeping as we record to popular instrumentals. We will discuss vocal warmups and exercises for singing. At the end of the semester students will have written an original song selection. A voice recorder will be provided to each student for use.

Your child will learn social, leadership, dining and money skills to feel more comfortable and self-assured in social situations. This enjoyable and informative program includes role-playing exercises. Workbooks are included and can be kept as a reference. The Dave Ramsey money class includes a kit, Financial Peace, Jr., that will help your child learn how to give, save and spend. An optional graduation dinner will be offered after the class is completed so that your child can practice all of the social and dining skills he/she has learned. Come and join Mrs. Winter and Ms. Babaz to cook some of the Wizarding World's favorite treats! Place the sorting hat upon your head and learn what house you belong to. Represent your house and take part in a cooking competition between the houses. The house with the most points will win the house cup!
