Description: Airborne gymnastics camp is a great way for your child to build confidence, have fun, and learn the fundamental skills of uneven bars, balance beam, floor, and vault. Description: Led by trained and vetted coaches, TGA Tennis Camp uniquely combines athletics, academics, and life lessons to create a fun, active, and entertaining camp experience. TGA camps include skill development, lessons on rules & etiquette, and activities that explore academic concepts through the lens of the sport. All levels/abilities are welcome, and equipment is provided.

Art Camp with Ms. B

Description: Join our Lower School art teacher, Ms. Babaz, for a week of fun and art! We will explore several mediums including painting, watercolor, clay, and so much more! Each camper will have beautiful works of art to take home at the end of the week!

Description: Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that merges self-defense with acrobatics, music, dance, and culture Camp days are full of excitement where campers learn and are trained in the different aspects Capoeira has to offer throughout the day. In addition to learning Capoeira, each day is supplemented with different games, and activities to give your child a complete summer vacation. By the end of summer, your child will be focused, and self-confident! Special visits from Superheroes during Capoeira summer camp!

Golden Bears Boys’ Soccer Camp

Grades: 1st-8th

Description: The Golden Bears Soccer Camp offers a unique, age-appropriate soccer experience designed to improve each player’s soccer development experience We combine the development of soccer and life skills to help our future soccer stars achieve greatness on and off the field. On the soccer field, we help players develop confidence and creativity with the ball using the latest training methodologies. We combine a focus on individual skill and technical work with partners and multi-player situational progression. We identify and train the most critical moves and skills every player needs to have to dominate in 1 vs. 1 situation. The following Life Skills conversation is added to every single session. Soccer is a great vehicle to promote these skills to have a well-rounded soccer star.

Football, Gaga, and H2O

Grades: 2nd-7th

Description: A balanced blend of Holy Innocents’ favorites – football-related games, Gaga Ball, and water activities! Make this a summer to compete on the gridiron, then become a Gaga Ball pit master, and finally cool down with various water games. Coach Lialios and Coach Thomas have structured this week to surely be a great way to close out the summer with great fun and friends!

Volleyball Camp

Grades: 6th-12th

Description: This four-day camp is for girls and boys. Open to players of all skill levels, this camp will stress basic skill development and instruction as well as extensive work on the following fundamental skills: passing, serving, setting, hitting, and game-like scenarios and drills. No previous experience is needed. Please wear tennis shoes, bring a water bottle and bring knee pads (if you have them). The coaching staff will be made up of HIES coaches, as well as members of A5 coaching staff.

Little Brainstormers

Description: Join our Primary School Brainstormers teacher, Mrs. Makkers, for a week of scientific fun! Little Brainstormers is a STEAM camp for the littles all about using our brains to create! We will do some fun science experiments together that you can bring home and explore more! In this camp, we get to be engineers, artists, and scientists all at the same time! We will learn how to persevere, show grit, and never give up when we are creating new things or solving a problem!

Playball

Description: Playball Summer Camp has been popular and successful for children for more than a decade at HIES! The kids are physically active, learn new skills, play games, and have fun in a high-energy, low-pressure, welcoming, and structured setting. Playball Camp is great for rising superstars or children who are new to sports as we incorporate all levels. We include activities with daily sports including Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, and Hockey as well as Bubbles, Obstacle courses, popular Playball games, and much more!

Chemistry in the Kitchen

Description: Spatulas and skillets, glue sticks and scissors, macaroni and cheese, and quesadillas are just a few things that the kiddos will be experiencing Kids will have fun learning how to whip up some of their favorite dishes, perform fun science experiments, and strengthen their artistic abilities while attending Chemistry in the Kitchen.

Sew Sweet Summer

Grades: 1st-6th

Description: Campers will learn both hand and machine sewing while creating our fun Sweet Treat pillow designs. Campers will create a Watermelon Slice, Candy Pillow, Peppermint, doughnut, Ice cream, and cake pillow! This camp introduces campers to basic sewing techniques such as straight stitching, sewing curves, machine threading, hand stitching, whip, and running stitch. Campers will get to take home all of their creations!

Art Camp with Ms. B

Description: Join Middle School science teacher Mrs. Merrihew for a week of food and global exploration! Each day of camp, students will get the opportunity to explore a different country and its culture. Description: Come join Coach Rowland, the HIES coaching staff, and players for a fun-filled four days of America’s favorite pastime! This instructional camp will focus on the fundamentals of baseball: hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, and pitching. Your player will receive extensive individual instruction and enjoy the thrill of being part of a team. This camp is appropriate for both beginning and experienced players.

*Players should bring their own cleats, glove, helmet, and bat for this camp

Wilderness Medicine

Grades: 1st-5th

Description: Conquer the great outdoors! Camp participants will role-play emergencies in the wild and learn how to prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, tourniquets, poisonous plants, edible plants, distress signals, forest fires, tornadoes, mosquito bites, and more!

Description: Do you want to encourage your child to be more eco-friendly without crushing their creativity? This project-based course is designed to do just that! In our Junk to Art class, All Ages design and create their pieces of artwork by recycling and upcycling discarded items. Participants have hands-on guidance from FHMD’s professional Teacher Artists who inspire creative exploration, observation skills, and artistic design. You can expect your child to practice problem-solving and clear communication as well. Note: Campers must bring materials to camp.

Summer at Hogwarts

Description: This four-day camp will concentrate on the fundamentals of the game, providing each camper with a sound foundation to facilitate and enhance future improvement. Campers will receive encouragement and reinforcement to make this camp a mix of learning and fun. Each day will consist of fundamental stations, contests, 3-on-3 games, and 5-on-5 games.

*Each camper will receive a t-shirt, a camp certificate, and plenty of opportunities to win prizes.

Amazing Robotics Camp

Description: The competition is on! Are you ready to build and program different types of robots to do unbelievable things? Kids TV: Filmmaking and Video Production

Description: During Kids TV Film and Video Production camp, campers learn professional camera, lighting, and production techniques from professional filmmakers. Description: Soccer Shots Camp is a fun and engaging soccer camp for all ages! Whether it's a child's first experience with soccer or they're ready for the big leagues, Soccer Shots works for everyone. Our ageappropriate curriculum focuses on fun learning, using themed games and activities to teach students soccer skills and concepts that will carry them through their soccer careers. Each day our coaches will focus on a new skill or fundamental concept of the game of soccer in a way that makes sense for all students while teaching the most important life lessons such as respect, teamwork, honesty, integrity, and more! Each day comes with a new theme of the day as well! We’ll send you all of that info, but one day might be Superhero Day where students will come wearing their favorite superhero memorabilia/attire and our day will be built around that theme of the day. We'll also play scrimmages at the end of each day to put everything we've practiced to the test. Though we don't focus on competition, we do teach our Soccer Shots friends about the importance of good sportsmanship whether we win or lose. We hope you join us in all the fun on Soccer Island!

Mandalorian Training with LEGOS

Grades: PK4-1st

Description: Here’s our chance to join our friends and learn what it takes to become a true Mandalorian. Using LEGO, an experienced instructor will guide us through the skills and equipment needed to earn the title. We will build our gauntlet fighter ship to weave through the galaxy, our Z-6 jetpacks to maneuver through the air, and of course, defend ourselves with our Mandalorian armor. Paper Mache Animals

Grades: 1st-9th

Description: Join Ms. DeLancy Hutchinson for Paper Mache Animal camp! During camp, each child will get to create their own giant paper mache animal! Animals will be built with newspaper and armature wire, covered in paper mache plaster strips, and then painted and decorated with fur, beads, wire, fabric, and more!

Karate

Description: Attention all Karate Kids! Join Sensei Will as he teaches the ancient Japanese martial art of Karate. Students will have the opportunity to not only partake in activities that will help increase their strength, agility, & and balance but will also learn the importance of respect, teamwork and patience. The goals of this class are to provide a fun and active setting in which students learn self-defense, self-control and self-discipline.

Theatre Workshop

Grades: 4th-7th

Time: 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Description: This week-intensive workshop is dedicated to helping young singers and actors refine their performance skills and understanding of the art form of musical theatre. Students will explore various aspects of performance such as voice, acting, dance, audition techniques, scoring a musical theatre scene, stage movement, and stage combat. Performers will work on individual pieces, monologues, ensemble numbers, and scenes. The week culminates in a cabaret to be performed at 11:00 on Friday for an invited audience. Each child will receive individual, one-on-one voice and acting instruction throughout the week to prepare for her/his showcase.

Lacrosse Camp for Girls

Grades: 4th-9th

Description: Join Coach DeVries for our Holy Innocents' Girls Lacrosse Camp.

During this four-day camp, players will learn the fundamentals of the fastest game on two feet while having a ton of fun! This exciting camp is for beginners and experienced lacrosse players. Rising 4th through 9th graders are welcome to come, and we will challenge everyone to their ability (safety is always first). Players will be divided appropriately based on age and skill level. While getting exercise and having a blast, players will learn to build from the basics of lacrosse and work up to team games. Players will not only have fun, but they will also learn the value of responsibility, cooperation, and teamwork. Players can borrow sticks and goggles from Coach DeVries or bring her equipment

*Each player must bring her own MOUTHGUARD, water bottle, and appropriate shoes for the turf field.

Performing Arts Camp

Description: Come dance and sing with Ms. Spurger and Mrs. Hill-Protos! Campers will spend the week preparing for a mini-performance on Friday. We will rehearse music and choreography each day and do several crafts to create props and a backdrop for our performance. Students will learn the basics of putting together a performance from start to finish in just one week!

Art with Mrs. St. Amand!

Campers will learn multiple techniques in spatial awareness, as well as how to use value and contrast to improve their drawing skills The week will also cover lessons in sketching and gesture drawing, as well as fun experimental drawing exercises designed to help improve visual awareness, with breaks for snacks and recess.

Description: Have you ever dreamed of creating a video game? In this course, we’ll dive into game development. Students will learn the fundamentals of game design, starting with HTML programming. During the course, we will use AI technology for storytelling and image creation, infusing unlimited options into game creation. We’ll also work on enhancing writing skills by coding trivia challenges and immersive choose-your-own-adventure games. Learners will have the opportunity to collaborate on a group game. Together, you'll practice the techniques learned throughout the course to craft a game that can be shared with friends and family. You don’t need any previous experience or special software; you’ll only need your creativity and a laptop! *Students will need their own laptop or Chromebook

Spy Camp

The competition is heating up with the Engineering For Kids World Games! Campers will compete for the gold as they take on exciting engineering challenges related to the greatest athletic competitions. They will explore a wide variety of science and engineering concepts related to various athletic events while applying the Engineering Design Process. Get ready to step up to the podium! Engineering For Kids' programs are Cognia STEM Certified, STEM.org Accredited, and aligned with National Teaching Standards. Join Engineering For Kids of East Atlanta as we declare victory in some World Games this summer!

Basketball Camp for Boys

Description: The Future Players Camp is a place for your child to learn, have fun, and compete this summer. This five-day camp is designed to improve a young player’s understanding of the game, dispel myths about what a good basketball player is, and spend time on in-game skills starting with a solid, fundamental foundation

Each player will participate in daily routines in a structured environment that includes proper stretching, learning how to run the court, making lay-ups, playing defense and its importance, repetitive shooting to improve form, and competing 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4 and 5 on 5.

Description: Want to learn about auditions for the fall musical? The Musical Theatre Audition Workshop is designed for students who plan to try out for the fall Middle School/Upper School musical. During this one-week workshop, students will become familiar with the material required for the audition process. They will learn the scenes, songs, and dances that will be used for auditions for the show. Additionally, they will be coached on the mechanics of auditioning and musical theatre performances.

*Please note: While this workshop is highly recommended for students who want to audition for the musical, attendance does not preclude the need to audition for the show, nor does participation guarantee a role. Not attending the workshop will not prevent a student from being cast, either.

Description: Join the HIES softball coaching staff and players for an exciting and energetic four-day camp filled with fundamentals and fun activities. This camp is appropriate for beginners and for experienced players alike. This instructional camp will focus on new drills that will improve each girl’s knowledge of the game, and it will teach her the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, pitching, and catching. They will receive individual instruction while learning about the importance of teamwork.

Description: Looking for a camp where your future soccer star can continue to develop their technical and tactical skills without worrying about how hot it is, or if it's going to rain? Look no further!

Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA (World Soccer Governing Body). It is a small-sided game played on a hard-surfaced, basketballsized court with a low-bouncing ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls. Futsal is the game that outdoor soccer players around the globe play to refine and maintain their control skills and touch. In Futsal, players are constantly reminded to play the same quality control game that is required for success in the outdoor game.

*Each player will need to bring water, shin guards, and INDOOR SHOES (flats, turfs, or cross-training tennis shoes). NO CLEATS or RUNNING SHOES.

Description: Jurassic Fans... who’s ready to build the next great dinosaur park? In this Theme Camp by STEM Velocity, you will enter the world of the Jurassic Park franchise. Introduction to Middle School Technology for Rising 6th-8th Grade

Description: The digital life of a middle school student is fast-paced and filled with wonderful opportunities and character-building challenges. The week-long Intro to Middle School Technology course seeks to prepare rising 6th grade students and students new to HIES for the upcoming school year. During the course, students will be introduced to password and username management for the various programs, websites, and hardware they will encounter in Middle School. They will work extensively with the school website, dropbox system, and laptop during this time. Additionally, they will create projects using Pages, Keynote, and iMovie that seeks to integrate multiple forms of media and skills. Students will also focus on improving typing skills and exploring HTML/CSS coding.
