Wildlife Wonders with Legos

Description: In this class, students explore another culture’s artwork to discover a unique painting technique We will discuss how the Oaxcan artisans used “dot painting” technique to create shape and connect with nature. Students will explore dot painting in two ways. First, rendering two-dimensional paintings, and second, creating three-dimensional animal sculptures.

Led by Varsity Boys' Soccer Coach Tyler Santee, the Golden Bears Soccer Camp offers a unique, age-appropriate soccer experience designed to improve each player’s soccer development experience. We combine the development of soccer and life skills to help our future soccer stars achieve greatness on and off the field. On the soccer field, we help players develop confidence and creativity with the ball using the latest training methodologies. We combine a focus on individual skill and technical work with partners and multi-player situational progression. We identify and train the most critical moves and skills every player needs to have to dominate in 1 vs. 1 situations.

Basketball Camp for Boys

Description: Led by our Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach, Mario Mays, the Future Players Camp is a place for your child to learn, have fun and compete this summer. This four-day camp is designed to improve a young player’s understanding of the game, dispel myths of what a good basketball player is, and spend time on ingame skills starting with a solid, fundamental foundation. Each player will participate in daily routines in a structured environment that includes: proper stretching, learning how to run the court, make lay-ups, play defense and its importance, repetitive shooting to improve form, and compete 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4 and 5 on 5.

Piano Camp

Description: This flag football program will be non-competitive and will emphasize team building, sportsmanship, and having fun. Coach Umstead will help children learn passing routes, kick field goals, punt, and certain techniques of the game. A game of flag football will be played each day. Description: Come train with Holy Innocents' Sports Performance Director, Peter Tongren, and learn speed technique, and movement skills to enhance your athletic ability. Daily sessions will include a dynamic warm-up, then primal skill development like squatting, lunging, and bending. Then, plyometric, or jump work, to create explosiveness and joint stability. We will finish with a straight line (maximum velocity) speed training or Change of Direction Agility work. We will also talk about nutrition and teammate skills during our water breaks. We will go Monday to Thursday, from 2:30-4:00 pm. Please bring lots of water and be prepared to move!

Lacrosse Camp for Girls
Grades: 3rd-9th

Description: Join Coach DeVries for our Holy Innocents' Girls Lacrosse Camp. During this four-day camp, players will learn the fundamentals of the fastest game on two feet while having a ton of fun! This exciting camp is for beginners and experienced lacrosse players. Rising 3rd through 9th graders are welcome to come, and we will challenge everyone to their ability (safety is always first). Players will be divided appropriately based on age and skill level. While getting exercise and having a blast, players will learn to build from the basics of lacrosse and work up to team games. Players will not only have fun, but they will also learn the value of responsibility, cooperation, and teamwork. Players can borrow sticks and goggles from Coach DeVries or bring their own equipment.
*Each player must bring her own MOUTHGUARD, water bottle, and appropriate shoes for the turf field.
Theatre Workshop

Performers will work on individual pieces, monologues, ensemble numbers, and scenes. The week culminates in a cabaret to be performed at 11:00 on Friday for an invited audience. Description: Come train with Holy Innocents' Sports Performance Director, Peter Tongren, and learn speed technique, and movement skills to enhance your athletic ability. Daily sessions will include a dynamic warm-up, then primal skill development like squatting, lunging, and bending. Then, plyometric, or jump work, to create explosiveness and joint stability. We will finish with a straight line (maximum velocity) speed training or Change of Direction Agility work. We will also talk about nutrition and teammate skills during our water breaks.
