Spring Term

Happy Holidays! This morning I had a lovely chat with a parent who said how delighted she was that since her daughter had joined us here at Highfield, her daughter had become far more independent, resilient and confident, at school and at home. Another parent, whose daughter joined the Highfield family in September, also commented how we have helped transform her daughter from a very unhappy child into a bright, enthusiastic and incredibly happy child! What struck me about both these comments is that sometimes as a school community we do not get the opportunity to reflect on all the good that we do at Highfield. As we all know life is incredibly busy, as it is for the girls themselves, and there is always something to do but sadly, as a result, we sometimes miss the good which is happening on a day to day basis.

Years 1 & 2 held their Spring Celebration on Monday. Personally I am going to use these holidays to look back at all that we have achieved this term, whether it was supporting our girls through their senior school exams, arranging trips to support the girls' learning or giving all the girls numerous performance opportunities, and celebrate all the good that we have achieved.

Congratulations to Tovey House, the overall winners at Thursday's Swimming Gala I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work and support this term in helping to achieve all that we do and of course you as parents in supporting your girls and the school. I hope you all have a very safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing you all again when we return on Wednesday 18th April. Joanna Leach

Congratulations to Hadfield House, the winners of the Relay Cup at the Upper School Swimming Gala this week.

The girls also got the chance to try the bread and 'wine' given out at communion and found out why Christians take part in this tradition. It was lovely to be joined by an old Highfield pupil, Charlotte, who is now one of the leaders at the church. Thank you very much to Kate and the team at St Mary's for having us. Ms Barbour
