‘Palestinians’ are imprisoned in Gaza and no one cares by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 9:48:00 PM
‘Palestinians’ are imprisoned in Gaza and no one cares When does the World not care that ‘Palestinians’ are being ‘imprisoned’ in the ‘World’s largest concentration camp’? Of course, when they are being imprisoned by other ‘Palestinians.’ Haaretz’s Amira Hass, who loves the ‘Palestinians’ so much that she has spent years living among them (she is one of the very few Israelis who can move freely among the ‘Palestinians’ without fear of being murdered), reports that ‘Palestinian’ passports have become an object of dispute between Fatah and Hamas. In some cases, one document separates people from their ability to leave the Strip – a passport. For about 30 of these individuals, the reason is clear: They are members of the Fatah movement whose passports the Hamas authorities have simply confiscated. There are also Fatah members who occasionally receive transit permits to the West Bank from Israel, on the basis of their special connections with the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah, but the Hamas government prevents them from leaving. Independent sources in Gaza believe these practices are a reaction to the policy of the Interior Ministry in Ramallah, which neglected to issue passports to dozens of Gazans in recent months who sent in applications. Since January, the Interior Ministry in Gaza holds, the Palestinian General Intelligence service (the Mukhabarat ) has been checking every passport application before it is approved or refused. At the human rights organizations in Gaza, which confirm this claim,
complaints are piling up from residents whose requests have been denied. Some of the people who have been denied passports are associated with the Hamas government, like Fiza Za’anin, a member of the elected council in Beit Hanoun, a midwife who won a United Nations prize for her work with women and children during the IDF offensive in Gaza in the winter of 2008-9. Although she received a permit to take a course in East Jerusalem, she told Haaretz by telephone, her request for a passport so she could attend the prize ceremony in October in the United States was denied. Some of those being denied passports are actually Fatah members, the apparent victims of false reports alleging they have connections to Hamas. One such person, from the Khan Yunis area, told Haaretz that after his request for a passport was denied he used all of his connections with Gazans now living in Ramallah – members of the PA security services – whose intervention finally brought him a passport, six months later. You got it? Fatah members in Gaza have their passports confiscated by Hamas, and Hamas members in Gaza (and probably in Judea and Samaria as well) cannot get the Fatahdominated ‘Palestinian Authority’ to issue passports. It goes without saying that Hamas does not issue passports – they would not be recognized anyway. Hass comments: The same government that includes a call to end the blockade on Gaza in every one of its statements, in practice aids in imprisoning the Gazans by preventing many of them from holding valid Palestinian passports. Not only does the Fatah government refuse to send blank passports to Gaza to be filled out,
thus forcing Gazans to use the services of special go-between agencies which send the applications to Ramallah, but its general intelligence service even intervenes – as has been revealed lately – and in many cases vetoes passports for Gaza residents. Now, with Egypt easing the restrictions on entry through its border with Gaza, this arbitrary cruelty has become even more pronounced. The feeling of imprisonment, and the lies accompanying it, generates bitterness toward the government in Ramallah – even among those who are not Hamas supporters. But to get anyone interested in this story, you’d have to find a way to blame it on Israel. Hass is trying. These are the same security authorities that have won praise from the occupier for the quiet they’ve achieved while the occupier acts: confiscating land, demolishing homes, expelling people, arresting children, preventing free movement and killing. The lies that accompany these activities and their close affiliation with Fatah cast a shadow
over the trustworthiness of the leadership in the eyes of its people. Does anyone really think it would be different if Israel were – God forbid – not in the picture? Does Iran issue passports to opponents of its government? Does Syria? Does ‘moderate’ Egypt? The ‘Palestinians’ are behaving the way every government in the Arab Muslim world behaves. But the ‘Palestinians’ are not used to no one caring about them. This time, Israel is really not involved so no one cares. If – God forbid – there is one day a ‘Palestinian state,’ this sort of occurrence will be routine, and so long as Israel cannot be blamed, no one will care. Evelyn Gordon reports this story and then adds: And then there’s that new mall in Gaza. Is Fighting for Smaller Government Racist? by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 8:12:00 PM
When the NAACP allowed itself to be used by the Democratic party to try and smear a grass roots movement for smaller government as racist, the resulting controversy shone a light on more than just racism by individuals associated with the NAACP, but with the organization’s inability to delink class warfare from racism. If there is one thing that both the white media elites at Jornolist and the NAACP leadership agreed on, it’s that fighting for smaller government is racist. The peculiar notion that reforming government by reducing its size is racist originates from the marriage of racial equality with class warfare to create the 40 Acres and a Mule politics covering everything from wealth redistribution to affirmative action to social welfare programs– all under the aegis of the federal government. And yet this same brand of 40 Acres and a Mule politics underlies the particular tragedy of the black community, whose leaders traded in aspiration and equality for government handouts, forcing them to make the argument over and over again that there can be no social justice without total government control. When the Democratic party was forced to make the transition from a party of Northern businessmen and Southern plantation owners, after two Republican Presidents, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, put a severe dent in their Southern plantations and the Northern business offices that had formerly given the party a death grip on the country’s economy– it did so by redefining the “Company Store” to mean the Federal government. The Republican notion of individual rights and free labor met the new Democratic notion of ward boss handouts at the Federal level in a battle for the soul of the Black community, and the Democrats won. Not immediately, not conclusively and not absolutely– but they won, and the NAACP’s leadership demonstrates why. The black leadership has gained distinct advantages for itself as a separate class, while disadvantaging the black community as a whole. Civil rights leaders who made their money on lawsuit shakedowns and diversity training seminars, corporate executives and business owners who got where they were through affirmative action programs that encouraged companies to hire one black executive for appearance not merit, and rewarded minority business owners for the color of their skin, rather than for results– helped create a black leadership that owed its position and power to government intervention, rather than ability. And
in the process that same leadership marginalized more qualified people within the black community, while teaching the lesson that aspiration and ability did not matter, only connections and politics did. Affirmative action politics closed far more doors than it opened, but those who got through the open door knew exactly what they owed it to. Creating racial quotas as a way to select leaders was an effective tool for perpetuating the same system over and over again, marginalizing black candidates and business owners as a whole, while rewarding a select few who would then be in a position to praise and maintain things the status quo. The racism charge leveled against the Tea Party is the doing of a leadership that sees itself as completely dependent on the Federal government, so much so that it finds any talk of reducing it to be dangerous and threatening. And as the Democratic party has identified itself closely with the domestic expansion of government and wealth redistribution politics, it has been able to manipulate the black community, to appropriate its decision making powers and use it as a political tool, while virtually eliminating its actual political clout. The sad state of affairs in which the official black leadership damns anyone who doesn’t toe the Democratic party line as Uncle Toms and “not real black people” reveals just who really calls the shots in this arrangement. And it is not the black leadership, which gets trotted out when the Democratic party needs them, and gets told to go home when it doesn’t. Which is no different than the treatment accorded to women’s or Jewish groups. The attacks hurled at the government reforms advocated by Tea Party groups rely on invoking sixties racist boogeymen about States’ Rights, but the Tea Parties are not fighting to
resegregate schools or lunch counters, as many times as liberal political bloggers may try and market that particular smear. Instead the Tea Party is an attempt to salvage the financial viability of the Middle Class that has traditionally been America’s only reliable bastion of political and social equality. And their targets are not Eisenhower’s forced desegregation and challenges to States’ Rights, a Republican President, but the out of control government expansion that began with FDR’s New Deal, which enforced racial segregation and plunged the country deeper into the depression. Wealth Redistribution will never solve the black community’s problems, only worsen them. Which may be why most of the greatest African-American inventions took place before it, not after. All that spending has not helped the black community, in part because while the spending may use social welfare as a justification, it is mostly directed at building up the size of government itself. The gargantuan bureaucratic structures that form as a result only perpetuate poverty for everyone, while feeding money to a small group of insiders who are politically connected enough to benefit from it. The Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac disasters in which black homeowners were saddled with debt, that was then resold worldwide by bankers and brokers, is a typical example of what happens and where the money really goes. Investing more money and power in the Federal government is shortsighted and unwise. Before the Federal government was forcing open schoolhouses, it was forcibly segregating Northern neighborhoods. Before it was filing lawsuits on behalf of black homeowners, it was demanding that Northern states return escaped slaves. Like all centralized
power, Federal power is not moral, it serves the interests of those who wield it, who in turn use everyone else. To see such a system as dangerous and unstable is not racist, it is common sense. The same system that has marginalized black politics to a few handpicked candidates running in gerrymandered districts, has done the same thing to the voice of the black community as a whole. Just as it has done to other groups across the United States. This plantation politics that promises protection in return for fealty is not only degrading and undemocratic, it is dangerous to everyone involved. And as the current escalation of Federal power threatens to destroy the Middle Class for good, it is important for everyone who believes in individual achievement and aspiration to join together and protect their present and their future from out of control spending and big government. Israel Eradicates Bedouin Village in Negev by Richard Silverstein (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 6:49:01 PM
Tearful homeless children of Al Arabikh (Activestills.org) How desolate sits the city that was full of people, How she has become as a widow that was great among the nations –Jeremiah 1:1 This is the month of Av, the saddest of the Jewish year because the 9th of the month commemorates the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans. On this fast day, we read Jeremiah who provides a powerful keening narrative of the destruction. So it seems only fitting in a perverse sort of way that today, the Israelis government crossed a new threshold of horror and despoilation. The Bedouin village of Al Arakibh, consisting of 40 families and 300 people, and which has existed in this place for hundreds of years, was erased by Israeli bulldozers. 1,500 soldiers armed with tear gas and water cannon, along with helicopters mounted their assault on the defenseless place. How desolate sits the village that was full of people. A dove sits amid the broken remnants of Al Arabikh (Activestills.org) They rounded up these indigenous Israeli citizens, among the poorest of all in Israel, and placed them in collection points much like Jews were herded from their own shtetls into ghettos during the Holocaust. The only difference is that Israel isn’t going to send them to the gas. Instead, it will merely leave them to their own devices in the midst of the barren desert. This won’t be a death sentence for them though since these are the people of the desert. They will merely wait for the bulldozers and soldiers to leave and then rebuild what has been wrenched from their grasp. Much like the Hilltop Youth who rebuild illegal outposts after they are demolished, with the major difference that the Bedouin have inhabited this place for centuries and predating the State’s founding. And with the further difference that so far the Bedouin have not stoned anyone or burned anything or beat up anyone or killed anyone. But if this dreadful policy isn’t stopped that all could change in
a heartbeat. Inexplicably and even more horrifically, CNN is reporting that eyewitnesses say the police brought busloads of Israeli Jews who cheered the destruction. Is this really possible? Or is this a sick joke? Is this what Israel is coming to when the State buses in cheerleaders for its policies of Bedouin ethnic cleansing. The village had appealed the government eviction order and won a stay from the Israeli Supreme Court. So I’m not sure how this happened, except to say that court rulings in Israel are different than here. They’re more advisory than compulsory. And it appears that yet again the State was able to evade the rule of law. What gives Israel the right to do this? What gives Israel the right to determine that these native people who’ve lived in this precise spot since before the existence of the State, must leave simply because the State determines that this area much be Arab-rein? Yes, the government has decreed that only Jews can live in this part of the Negev. In fact, the JNF plans to aid and abet this ethnic cleansing by planting one of its famous forests where the village stood. It must hope that it can eradicate all traces of the place, just as it has done with hundreds of
similar Arab villages which were emptied and destroyed during the Nakba. But such an attempt at erasure of history will not work this time. The world has seen and taken notice. The story has been on CNN already. Jewish Voice for Peace’s blog features a heartbreaking interview with an eyewitness activist which you can hear here. I’m also working on translating from Hebrew another powerful eyewitness account featured on Facebook. I am sorry to say that this is not a one -off event as Israel eradicated a West Bank village a few days ago in a similar fashion. In this case, it simply declared the village a military zone and–poof–it was gone. 30 other Bedouin villages have the same status as Al Arabikh and face the same potential fate unless the numbskull bureacrats who devised this policy are shown the error of their blockhead ways. Wikileaks Afghanistan: powerful police chief was Iranian spy Here again we see that those in authority had no mechanism for and/or no interest in distinguishing “moderates” who merited being given powerful positions in post-Taliban Afghanistan from Islamic supremacists and jihadists. And even they had cared to make such a distinction and tried to do so, how could they have gone about it? “Wikileaks Afghanistan: police chief doubled as Iranian spy,” by John Bingham in the Telegraph, July 27: A powerful Afghan police chief doubled as an Iranian spy and drugs lord, a leaked US report claims. The man, described as a “notorious criminal” is said to have secured his position through the influence of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard over local warlords in southern Afghanistan…. It recounts how the man, named in redacted versions only as X, is said to
have had links with Iran stretching back to the time of the war against the invading Soviet forces the 1980s. “It was reported that [X] is a notorious criminal in Afghanistan and a spy for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC),” the report alleges. “During the time of the jihad in Afghanistan against the Russians, [X] did not participate in the jihad, but went into Iran and became a spy for the IRGC. “By order of the IRGC, the jihadi commanders in western Afghanistan were to protect [X] and help him attain a government job. “In this way, [X] became [a] chief of police.” While he was chief of police, says the report, he “encouraged the farmers of Bala Bluk, Khaki Safeed, and Bagwa districts, Farah province, to start to cultivate poppies”…. How much went to the jihad? U.S. can’t find $8.7 billion in Iraq funds Winning hearts and minds. None could have gone to the jihad, you say? And why not, exactly? What effective safeguards were in place to ensure that those who received money in Iraq had no sympathies for the jihad? With the U.S. government in massive denial about the nature of the jihad doctrine and Islamic supremacism itself, it is nothing short of inconceivable that any such safeguards were in place. “Audit: US cannot account for $8.7B in Iraqi funds,” by Tarek El-tablawy for AP, July 28: BAGHDAD – A U.S. audit has found that the Pentagon cannot account for over 95 percent of $9.1 billion in Iraq reconstruction money, spotlighting Iraqi complaints that there is little to show for the massive HOW page 5
Wedding Anniversary by Kumah (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 4:03:52 PM
With profound gratitude to G-d and sincere joy, I report that my husband and I have just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary! Though Yishai is shuttling all over the United States on his speaking tour, his one day off miraculously fell on that auspicious day, and we basically sat around feeling blessed and happy to be together. Having this anniversary, and feeling so honored and grateful for this goodness in my life, I started thinking about how marriage to your spouse and commitment to Israel are so related. Israel is your bashert (your intended). You love Israel, you want to be with Israel, you want to share great joys all the time with Israel – just like your spouse (hopefully). But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other nice lands out there. ”Gosh, this one’s pretty good looking”, you might say about one. ”This one is so chilled out and easy going,” you could say about another. ”Things seem to flow so naturally with this one,” you could
find yourself saying, even enviously. Maybe another land would pose less challenges, would seem to suit you more harmoniously, provide you more comforts. But this is not what your marriage – or your homeland – is all about. Yeah, you might cry sometimes. You might get frustrated, feel detached, or just want to stomp your feet and yell. But true love means putting aside the
difficulties and uniting out of a deep desire to always be together, to never give up. More than that, it means using the hardships, the occasional disharmony, to grow, to learn, to become wiser, to perfect that to which you so wholeheartedly committed so many years ago. And with G-d’s help, it yields moments of deep satisfaction and communion, as you realize that the hard times have
only brought you closer together. May we all merit beautiful, soulcompleting marriages – both to our spouses and to our Land. And may the G-d of Israel join us once again under the chuppah, in song and dance on Mount Moriah. Are you ready for camel milk chocolate? by Elder of Ziyon (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 7:34:00 PM
From Al Arabiya: Less than a year after its establishment, the Dubai-based first camel milk chocolate company is now ready to invade global markets with a new flavor to the world’s most popular sweet. In October 2009, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum established al-Nassma which, in partnership Austrian chocolate manufacturer Manner, aiming at producing 100 tons of the new product. The world’s first camel chocolate will be exported to Arab countries as well as Europe, the United States and Japan. The company is planning to sell its products at London’s Harrods. Al-Nassma is currently selling its products in the store attached to its farm, which houses 3,000 camels, as
well as in luxury hotels and private airlines. Online shopping of alNassma chocolates will be launched within a month. The Gulf is the best place to launch camel milk chocolate since it is home to the best camel breeds and camel milk is part of its diet due to its numerous benefits, said Martin Van Almsick, al-Nessma general manager and former manager of the chocolate museum in Cologne, Germany. “Camel milk is healthier than cow milk,” he told Al Arabiya. “It contains five times more vitamin C, less fat, less lactose and more insulin. This makes it perfect for people with diabetes and lactose intolerance.” Since al-Nassma chocolate is a luxury product, Van Almsick added, it will not be sold in supermarkets, but one mall in each UAE city will have an outlet. “ We aim to be the Godiva of the Middle East.” Well, it could be worse. Change? British PM calls Gaza a ‘prison camp’ Anyone who thought Britain’s Conservative party was proIsrael needs to think again. Or perhaps it’s just Nick Clegg’s or Catherine Ashton’s influence. British Prime Minister and Conservative party leader David Cameron was in Turkey on Tuesday where, among other things, he referred to Gaza (pictured) as a ‘prison camp’ and called Israel’s raid on a Turkish flotilla trying to run Israel’s legal blockade of Gaza ‘ completely unacceptable.’ Israel’s May 31 interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla was “completely unacceptable,” British Prime Minister David Cameron said Tuesday during an address to Turkish businessmen. In a reference to Israel’s blockade of the Strip, he said: “Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp.” He also commented that the world needs Turkey’s help in pushing Iran to address international concerns about its suspected nuclear weapons program. Cameron went on to declare that Britain was a staunch backer of Turkey’s troubled bid to join the European Union. His visit early in his
term was a measure of Britain’s acknowledgment of Turkey as a critical ally in a conflict-prone region, much as US President Barack Obama traveled to Turkey, NATO’s only Muslim member, in 2009 to boost a partnership despite differences on key issues. And you thought it was just Gordon Brown and Labour…. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 2:10 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Inspector Tamim orders spies to leave Dubai Inspector Tamim orders spies to leave Dubai

Taliban vows "jihad" against Pakistani political party, says it is "enemy of Islam" by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 5:59:41 PM
Taliban vows “jihad” against Pakistani political party, says it is “enemy of Islam” Here again we see that those whom Obama, John Brennan, and so many others insist have nothing to do with Islam explicitly take upon themselves the mantle of Islamic purity and authenticity. This is a cognitive dissonance that no one in authority is showing any signs of addressing, and yet it undercuts their entire strategy in Afghanistan and elsewhere, including in regard to many domestic policies. “Taliban says will continue ‘jihad’ against ANP,” from the Daily Times, July 28: MIRANSHAH: The Tehreek-eTaliban Pakistan (TTP) said on Tuesday that it was the duty of the mujahideen to annihilate the Awami National Party (ANP), as it was “not only the enemy of the Taliban, but Islam as well”. Talking to reporters over telephone from an undisclosed location about the recent attacks on the ANP, TTP spokesman Azam Tariq said Pakhtuns could not tolerate the existence of the ANP in the region, as the party was an enemy of Islam. The spokesman added that it was the need of the hour to exterminate the ANP and the Taliban would continue jihad against the party. Iranian Dictatorship by Yaakov Kirschen (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 7/27/2010 8:00:00 PM
You would think the kind of genocidal behavior displayed by the Ahmadinejad government in Tehran would be in violation of international law! Well, apparently there are some experts who also think so. The legal petition for action mentioned in today’s cartoon is real. Here’s Irwin Cotler (Canadian Liberal MP and former Justice Minister of Canada) as quoted in the Ottawa Citizen: “We are witnessing in Ahmadinejad’s Iran the toxic convergence of four distinct dangers: the nuclear threat; the genocidal incitement threat; statesponsored terrorism; and the systematic and widespread violations of the rights of the Iranian people.
Accordingly, a consortium of international law scholars, human rights advocates, former government leaders, parliamentarians and Iranian activists for democracy and freedom — The Responsibility to Prevent Coalition — has released a report on the danger of a nuclear, genocidal, and rights-violating Iran. Let there be no mistake about it: Iran is in violation of international legal prohibitions against the development and proliferation of nuclear weapons; Iran has already committed the crime of incitement to genocide prohibited under the Genocide Convention; Iran is a leading state-sponsor of international terrorism; and Iran is engaged in widespread and systematic violations of the rights of its people.”- more -Dry Bones- Israel’s Political Comic Strip Since 1973
