Mavi Marmara: Video as Ammunition in the Battle for World’s Hearts and Minds by Richard Silverstein (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/11/2010 12:56:55 AM
This is a follow-up on last night’s post and video which appears to show (at least according to those who edited and captioned the video) the murder of a ship passenger by an IDF commando. Thanks to new video footage Paul Woodward has discovered, I’m going to backtrack somewhat on the claims I made last night. Above you’ll see an expanded version of the same video. In addition, I’ll relay new information I solicited from P rof. Scott MacEachern, a Bowdoin anthropologist and weapons expert, who attempted to piece together what weapon was used and what the commando was actually doing with it. Before I start and in order to quiet the cheers of the hasbara crowd, nothing I’m about to say conclusively refutes the possibility that the conclusions I drew yesterday are wrong. But there other possibilities that should be considered as well. First, Paul notes that the longer video featured here, which appears to be one generation closer to the raw footage than the video featured yesterday, shows the action differently than the earlier video. In other words, the video claiming to show the murder of Furkan Dogan, shows commandos kicking a victim and then apparently shooting him. The video above shows these actions in reverse order. The IDF Seals first point a weapon down at the victim and possibly fire it, and later kick him. What does all this mean? It means that the video footage may’ve been edited or manipulated to make it appear to show something it doesn’t. But again, since all of this represents the battle of dueling videos between Israel and supporters of the flotilla activists, its very hard to say anything definitively other than that both
videos show commandos beating, menacing and possibly shooting victims. Israel’s supporters attempt to minimize the damage represented by the video’s contents by claiming the weapon held by the commando is a paintball gun and not one meant to kill. Many people who want you to believe they know what they’re talking about have vociferously stated this. But I’d like to quote Prof. MacEachern who offers some food for thought: The weapon used…has the following characteristics: (a) the stock is quite thin, indicating something with low recoil; (b) there’s no large magazine visible (including a top-mounted paintball magazine, which is pretty easy to identify); (c) the operator seems to be working a slide on the bottom of the weapon, and ejects at least one cartridge (indicating it’s not CO2 powered like a paintball gun); (d) he works it four times at least, maybe five, while the weapon is pointing at the area they were kicking at before; (e) the barrel is long and thin (could be the barrel itself or a sound suppressor); and (f) he has a flashlight mounted on the left side of the receiver. There appears to be no muzzle-flash, indicating (a) that’s it’s not a conventional pistol/rifle cartridge or (b) less likely, that a suppressor has eliminated all of the flash from a pistol cartridge. So, there are two possibilities: (1) these commandos are abusing some lying on the ground by firing some sort of crowd-control weapon, a kind of paintball gun on steroids (e.g. An FN303, although I don’t think that’s what this is), at him at a range of a foot or so, or (2) this is an assassination weapon, an updated De Lisle carbine or some equivalent silenced, single-shot pistol -calibre weapon, and they have killed
him. My money is somewhat on the former, but no firm conclusions at this point. Ruger rifle of the type possibly use by IDF on board Mavi Marmara In a later message to me, Scott added the following in an attempt to identify the weapon brandished: I think he’s shooting whoever is on the ground with a silenced Ruger 10/ 22 .22-calibre bolt-action rifle with a modified stock. The Israelis bought some and used them for ‘crowd control’ for a while, until they were prohibited legally from using it – except they still did. They also use it to kill guard dogs – a so-called ‘hushpuppy’ weapon – in the Special Forces, so Sayeret 13 might be using it. This would kill you. He offers evidence via B’Tselem of the gun’s use by the IDF in the Occupied Territories in riot control situations in which it is fired into demonstrators limbs, producing serious but usually not lethal injuries: Ha’aretz reported the comments of an “IDF official”, who said that the Ruger causes less harm, and is less lethal, than “rubber bullets.” Several children, however, were killed by it. Given the duelling videos offered by both sides, and the tendency of both sides to be willing to manipulate documentary evidence to their advantage, it’s hard to say precisely what went on aboard the ship that night. Which is all the more reason it is absolutely necessary for their to be a credible international probe of this tragedy. Such an inquiry must hear from every member of the Israel team
that assaulted the Marmara as well as every passenger who may’ve engaged in resistance/violence and every passenger who may’ve witnessed such actions. This is the only way to ascertain with any reliability what happened and who is at fault, or most at fault. The EU must show real courage on the Middle East | Chris Patten by Chris Patten (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 10:30:03 PM
Inaction renders Europe complicit in illegal acts in the Middle East. It can no longer play third fiddle Today’s miserable standoff in the Middle East requires new initiatives. The short-term failure of Israeli policies has concentrated global attention on their blockade of Gaza rather than on Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. The long-term failure has rendered increasingly difficult a two-state solution as Palestine is broken up into barriered Bantustans. As President Obama’s military commanders have told him, the absence of anything resembling a peace process in the Middle East, and the identification of Washington with a very rightwing Israeli government, has made it more difficult for the US to deal with Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others. If politics does not succeed, then humanitarian aid will continue to be necessary. Yet we should never depend on the provision of humanitarian relief as an excuse for diplomatic drift and the failure to confront intransigence. Organisations such as Medical Aid for Palestinians do not exist so that others can duck their moral and political responsibilities. The EU has a role to play to break this logjam. It is Israel’s biggest trade partner and the largest provider of development assistance to Palestine, yet it has been content to play a quiet third fiddle to the US. There have been exceptions. In 1980, the EU heads of government and foreign ministers agreed the Venice declaration, which noted that “traditional ties and common interests” obliged them to play “a
special role … to work in a more concrete way towards peace”. They spelled out their commitment to the right to existence and security of all the states in the region, including Israel, and “justice for all the peoples, which implies recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people”. They denounced settlement activity as illegal, refused to accept any unilateral initiative to change the status of Jerusalem, urged a just solution to the problem of Palestinian refugees, and supported a comprehensive peace settlement sustained by a decision of the UN security council. However, the EU has too often since taken the view that only Washington really drives things forward. Yet what should the EU do when American policy is going nowhere? Not surprisingly, the secretary-general of the Arab League called the so-called quartet (the EU, US, UN and Russia), which supervised the nonimplementation of the road map for peace, “the quartet sans trois”. It is true that the US has the primary external role in the region, and that any peace settlement will require Israel’s willing agreement. But none of this justifies the EU’s nervous selfeffacement. This removes much of the political price the US should pay when it does nothing or too little. It gives Israel carte blanche. It damages Europe’s relationship with its alleged partners in the Union for the Mediterranean, and makes Europe complicit in outrageous and illegal acts. It is not only Israel that has believed collective punishment of the people of Gaza since 2007 would weaken Hamas. Failure to take more decisive action to end a policy described by the International Crisis Group as “morally appalling and politically self -defeating” has spread responsibility for that policy. We must all hope
Obama’s meeting on Wednesday with Mahmoud Abbas and the announcement of additional US aid for Gaza signals a change of approach. Today, the EU should not only call for an immediate end to the Gaza blockade but should work harder to promote reconciliation between the splintered Palestinian body-politic. The UN should be tasked with preventing the flow of weapons while the EU should take the initiative with Turkey and the Arab League to reestablish a government of national unity involving Fatah and Hamas for the whole of the Palestinian territory. In due course, the EU should monitor free elections there. You cannot favour democracy everywhere except in Palestine. Without Hamas there will not be a peace settlement. What we should require from Hamas is simple – a ceasefire, acceptance of the outcome of a peace process provided it is endorsed in a Palestinian referendum, and help in securing the release of Corporal Shalit. To insist that they accept all past agreements is bizarre when no such requirement is made of Israel. Look, for example, at settlement building. We should go further. There has been speculation the US may consider unilaterally tabling an agreement with a timetable for achieving it. Opponents of this proposal have questioned whether it would be wise for the US to thus risk its prestige. The EU could work with Turkey and the Arab League to draft proposals for an agreement to be tabled in the UN security council. This may not be immediately acceptable to the US but would at least bring some momentum. The present situation is awful for the Palestinians, denied a decent life in their own country, bad for Israel and its prospects for a peaceful future and
wretched for relations between the US and EU on the one hand and the Islamic world on the other. It is time for Europe to go back to what it said 30 years ago and act with real rather than rhetorical courage. • Middle East • Israel • Palestinian territories • European Union • United Nations • Gaza • Obama administration Chris Patten guardian.co.uk© Guardian News & Media Limited 2010 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions| More Feeds Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Israel’s vivid act of piracy may yet turn the tide of global opinion | Linda Grant Like the Exodus in 1947, the Gaza aid flotilla has now etched itself on the mind – whatever the eventual consequencesIn the summer of 1947 a semi-derelict 200-berth Chesapeake Bay steamer carrying 4,5... • US gives Abbas private assurances over Israeli settlements Exclusive: Americans consider withholding veto protecting Israel at UN if building goes ahead at Ramat ShlomoThe US has given private assurances to encourage the Palestinians to join indirect Middle E... • US gives Abbas private assurances over Israeli settlements Exclusive: Americans consider withholding veto protecting Israel at UN if building goes ahead at Ramat ShlomoThe US has given private assurances to encourage the Palestinians to join indirect Middle E... Newest videos shed more light on Mavi Marmara raid (part 2) by Elder of Ziyon (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 8:56:00 PM
The Israeli Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center showed once again how closely aligned it is with the IDF, as it has posted two videos and one transcript of interrogations with the captain and the chief officer of the Mavi Marmara. Here is their synopsis: 1. The videotaped statements of two Mavi Marmara crew members show that preparations for a violent confrontation with IDF forces were put in motion about two hours before the boarding began, when the Israeli Navy hailed the ship and told it to halt. 2. According to the statements, the atmosphere aboard the Mavi Marmara was tense and the crew noticed a gathering on the main deck. When they checked the upper deck they discovered that IHH operatives were cutting the ship’s railings with metal disks they had brought with them into lengths suitable to be used as clubs. The crew members said the activities worried them and that they tried to stop the operatives but were unsuccessful. I put the two videos together; the captain is speaking English and the chief officer is subtitled: Here’s the transcript from the chief officer: Statement: I was on the bridge after dark, before anything happened, the third captain and I were sent in the direction of the life boats, where there were a lot of people and a lot of noise. The captain told me something was happening down there, there are noises, go see what’s going on. There were a lot of people. I told the third
captain, you are more senior than I, come with me.” Q: When did that happen? A: Around eight o’clock, I don’t know exactly when, but around eight. I went down the stairs with the third captain. We saw a senior person [from IHH]. Q: Who? A: That guy. Q: What guy? A: That guy. Maybe the third captain knows his name. Q: The guy from IHH? A: Yes, from IHH. Q: Whose name does he know? The name of the guy from IHH who cut the railings? A: No, the third captain knows him from IHH. We [the third captain and I] went together, we saw a lot of people milling around and we asked what was going on. Q: Did you see them cutting [the railings]? A: They [the iron rods] were already cut. It was all over. Q: Who did the cutting? A: I didn’t see. Q: Who was holding the disk? A: The disks were lying in a corner of the stairs and the senior guy [apparently a reference to Bülent Yildirim] was next to them. Q: The senior guy from IHH? A: Yes. Q: Who did the disks belong to? A: I don’t know, they didn’t belong to the ship. We don’t have equipment like that on board. On deck there were metal poles with clips for cables, when I got there they had been cut. Q: When did this happen? A: When it was getting dark. I asked one of them who cut the poles, and he said he didn’t know. Q: Was the man you asked a crew member?
A: No. Q: Did he belong to IHH? A: Of course. Q: You seem to be saying that the people from IHH were in control of the ship. Did the crew need their permission to move around the ship? A: Definitely, they [i.e. IHH operatives] didn’t let people they didn’t know move around. Q: Did they prevent anyone they didn’t know from moving freely around the ship? A: Yes, definitely. Q: And was that from the first moment they went up on deck? A: Yes, definitely. Q: How did the IHH operatives communicate with one another? A: When they [the IHH operatives] got on board in Istanbul they brought walkie-talkies with them. They were handed out to the IHH operatives and the crew. Q: Did you [the crew] get them as well? A: Yes, each one worked on a different frequency. Q: I don’t understand, they didn’t let the passengers and crew go from one deck to another? A: They could go anywhere except to the control center they set up on the bridge. Q: How many IHH operatives were there on the upper deck. A: Forty. Q: The same forty all the time or did they change? A: More of less the same forty. Q: You’re referring to the group that joined the ship in Istanbul? A: yes. So it seems more and more clear that most of the passengers of the Marmara didn’t know what the IHH plans were and possibly wouldn’t have approved; yet they must have known that the IHH had taken control
of the ship and was calling the shots – co-opting the European and American flotilla organizers. It also appears that the passenger/ witnesses have closed ranks around IHH, not willing to say anything bad about a group that had violent intent. Keep in mind that the crew here is saying that the IHH was already cutting iron bars and chains at nightfall; they say two hours before the IDF was visible but probably some 6-8 hours before the helicopters arrived (at around 4 AM.) This brings up the question of, if the boats already saw the passengers with the chains and iron bars from the boat, why the first wave of soldiers still came only armed with paintball guns. Tallit | Prayer Shawl | Tzitzit | about tzitzit by paraisrael (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 11:05:06 PM
by USCJ.Program.Pix Tallit | Prayer Shawl | Tzitzit Our Tallit Shop your on-line resource to buy Prayer Shawls and to buy Tallits from the Holy Land. A tallit is a Jewish Prayer Shawl worn on the Sabbath, on Holidays, during life-cycle events, and for morning prayers. The tallit or prayer shawl has knotted fringes on each of the four corners know as tzitzit. A tallit (also known as a prayer shawl, especially by Christians) is a rectangle or square cloth with tzitzit (fringes) on each of the four corners and an atarah along the collar. It is worn in obedience to the biblical commandment to wear tzitzit found in Numbers 15:37-41. The passage reads: “The L-RD also spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue. It shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the L-RD, so as to do them and not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, so that you may remember to do all My commandments and be holy to your
G-d. I am the L-RD your G-d who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your G-d; I am the L-RD your G-d.’” The word talit in Modern Hebrew is pronounced tah-LEET, or [ta.lít] in IPA, with the stress on the final syllable. Less common today, but historically quite widespread, is the pronunciation tallet, or [ta.lét] in IPA. The same word is pronounced TAHlis in Yiddish, transcribed [tá.l?s] or [tá.lýs] in IPA, with the stress on the initial syllable. Both pronunciations are commonly interchanged and refer to the same object. A person generally selects or receives his/her first full tallit during the process of preparation for bmitzvah. Some Jews always wear a light-weight tallit under their clothes called a tallit kattan, “little tallit” and others prefer the full shawl-style talit for prayer and special occasions in life. For example: - A Jewish wedding canopy is often a large talit, canopy of spirit, held over the couple on four poles. - A Jewish person is buried wearing a talit. -An old talit that is unsightly/torn/ unusable gets donated to the synagogue or a Judaic library and will be used to wrap worn out or superfluous documents like photocopies with Adonai, the sacred name of G*d on them in Hebrew script so that they can be buried with dignity in a geniza, a Jewish cemetery section set aside for this purpose.

Letter from the Hotel Zamenhof by Gershom Gorenberg (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/11/2010 12:17:37 AM
On Being Shocked, Shocked to Learn That Israel Is Not a Liberal Utopia Gershom Gorenberg My new column is up at the American Prospect: Meyer Landsman lives in the Hotel Zamenhof. Landsman is the hero of Michael Chabon’s The Yiddish Policemen’s Union, in which the Jews lost the 1948 war in Palestine and have taken refuge in a Jewish autonomous region of Alaska. The run-down hotel is named for L.L. Zamenhof, the Russian-born Jew who invented Esperanto in order to bring world understanding and peace. In other words, Landsman’s residence is a liberal Jewish dream that has seen much better days. I remembered this while reading Chabon’s New York Times article, “Chosen, Not Special,” a response to the Israel Navy’s ill-considered raid on the flotilla to Gaza last week. The article describes the shock that Jews feel when they discover that Jews can
act as stupidly as other people. The novel, in my view, alludes to more basic kinds of American Jewish surprise with the State of Israel, including half-repressed disbelief in its very existence. I’ll get to the novel in a moment. First, let me note that Chabon’s Times article is part of the sudden wave of American Jewish soulsearching about Israel — or sudden public attention to such soulsearching. Astonishment at the flotilla fiasco is one reason that more U.S. Jews are talking about their relationship problems with Israel. But lest we forget, Peter Beinart’s purportedly groundbreaking essay in The New York Review of Books was published even before the flotilla affair. … What strikes me as I listen to the family fight between the hawkish Jewish establishment and other American Jews — the pro-peace Zionists, the furious anti-Zionists, the “don’t ask me about Israel” nonZionists — is that they’re all dealing with a shared family problem: They have a hard time fitting Israel as it actually is into some of their deepest assumptions about the world. The
easiest way for me to explain runs through Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America and Chabon’s Yiddish Policemen’s Union.… Read the rest here, and come back to South Jerusalem to comment. How to Keep Kosher: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding Jewish Dietary Laws by paraisrael (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 11:05:26 PM
How to Keep Kosher: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding Jewish Dietary Laws • ISBN13: 9780060515003 • Condition: USED – VERY GOOD • Notes: “Traditional Judaism injects sanctification into the ordinary habits of everyday life.Keeping kosher helps us pause and think about what we eat, and how we eat it, and elevates the act of eating.” What does it mean to keep kosher? Many may be familiar with the basics: no bacon, no shrimp, no cheeseburgers. But the Jewish dietary laws go deeper than that, and How to Keep Kosher explores the ins and outs. Why are some foods deemed kosher while others are not? Why can’t you mix meat and dairy dishes? How do you turn a nonkosher kitchen into a kosher one? Do you really need multiple sets of everything — dishes, pots, pans, and utensils? How do you keep track of what’s what? Whether you are thinking about adopting a kosher lifestyle or already have a kosher home and just want tounderstand what it is all about, Lis#235; Stern’s How to Keep
Kosher is essential reading. You will learn about the biblicaland historical origins of keeping kosher, the development of the kosher certification system, specific food preparation requirements for Shabbat, Passover, and otherholidays, and how to actually set up a kosher kitchen. In straightforward language, drawing upon explanations from the Torah and Talmud, along with interviews with rabbis, academics, and laypeople who keep kosher, Lis#235; explores all aspects of Judaism’s ancient dietary traditions as they are carried out in today’s kitchen, with its range of modern appliances — dishwashers, food processors, and microwave ovens. For the first time, one book explains both Conservative and Orthodox perspectives on kashrut, as well as opinions from other Jewish affiliations. When Lis#235; was nine, her parents decided to make the change — transform their home to a kosher one — as a core part of their evolving commitment to Judaism. Because Lis#235; experienced the transition as a child and keeps a kosher home today, she is uniquely qualified to explain all aspects of this traditional practice. Setting up a kosher kitchen lays the foundation for implementing the tradition; the proof is in the potato pudding. As Lis#235; notes, the Talmud says, “Room can always be
found in one’s stomach for sweet things,” and the wealth of information is sweetened with more than forty recipes for Shabbat dinners and lunches as well as holiday and festival celebrations. Traditional recipes include Chicken Soup with My Mother’s Ethereal Matzo Balls, Sliced Potato#150;Onion Kugel, and Hamantashen; new classics are Chilled Cucumber#150;Yogurt Soup, Rosemary Sweet Potato Kugel, Enchilada Lasagna, and ChocolateFlecked Meringues. Stern’s How to Keep Kosher is an inclusive, user-friendly handbook filled with answers to the fundamental who, what, where, when, why, and how questions surrounding the Jewish dietary laws — making
these laws both accessible and appealing. Gaza, o Gaza

One of the activists aboard the Mavi Marmara managed to get a 15-minute video out showing the passengers before and during the IDF raid. It can be seen at the “ Cultures of Resistance” site. Gaza Freedom Flotilla Participants from Cultures of Resistance on Vimeo. Some interesting parts: Starting at around the 3:00 mark, we see an IDF helicopter hovering, and then at least 7 soldiers are seen rappelling down to the deck, much more quickly than those that came from the first helicopter. It appears that the IDF figured out very quickly what was going on and ensured that the mistakes from the first drop, where the soldiers were beaten, would not be repeated. That section of the video was taken from the deck below the main deck. Even though it appears from other evidence that the IHH had a core of
some 40 members who were planning to do the heavy fighting and who effectively took over the top deck (see next posting and video), there were people on the second deck who were also supplied with slingshots (3:40) They mention having two soldiers “bleeding and wounded” but I’m not sure I see them (6:00) They might have been edited out. Some of the IHH fighters are seen, wounded and dying. Most interesting to me was the sequence at about 12:30, where an Israeli boat is speeding alongside the ship. Even though it is now morning, and clearly at least an hour since the first soldiers dropped onto the ship, the activists are still throwing debris towards the Israeli navy – which runs very much counter to the flotilla members’ accounts of a white flag being immediately raised and a PA announcement of immediate surrender and stopping resistance. In this video we hear the captain telling people to go to their rooms and remain calm after daybreak, but we never hear the audio saying that the
ship has surrendered. More in the next post. Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Passover / Pesach Celebration 2010 - A time to Rejoice !.wmv How to Celebrate? Victor Davis Hanson: Turkey’s ambitions are antithetical to its membership in NATO by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 9:56:00 PM
Victor Davis Hanson: Turkey’s ambitions are antithetical to its membership in NATO After reviewing Turkey’s efforts to restore the Ottoman Empire, Victor Davis Hanson looks at how the United States should respond to the new Turkey. Where and how does all this end? Turkey’s new ambitions and ethnic and religious chauvinism are antithetical to its NATO membership. The United States should not be treaty-bound to defend a de facto ally of Iran or Syria, which are both eager to obtain nuclear weapons. European countries foresaw the problem when they denied Turkey membership in the now fragile European Union, fearful that Anatolian Islamists would have unfettered transit across European borders. In response, the United States should make contingency plans to relocate from its huge Air Force base at Incirlik — a facility that Turkey has in the past threatened to close. We
should brace for new troubles in the Aegean region and Cyprus, as a bankrupt and often anti-American Greece is now alienated from both the United States and northern Europe — and yet increasingly vulnerable to a return of Ottoman regional ambitions. Just as the Shah of Iran’s proWestern, secular transformation failed and led to the Ayatollah Khomeini’s anti-Western Islamic revolution, we are seeing something similar in Erdogan’s efforts to turn Ataturk’s Turkey back into the theocratic sultanate that ran the Eastern Mediterranean for more than three centuries. If Erdogan is intent on a suicidal reinvention of Turkey into a pale imitation of Ottoman hegemony, we
can at least take steps to ensure that it will be his mess — and none of our own. Hanson hints at an important point. The risk of not reacting properly is that the US ends up with another Iran on its hands – except that this one has a huge American airbase with hundreds of US troops within its borders. Interviews with Mavi Marmara crew members by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/10/2010 11:14:00 PM
Interviews with Mavi Marmara crew members Here’s a link to two interviews with members of the crew of the Mavi Marmara that were apparently done by the IDF. One interview is in English with Hebrew subtitles and it’s with the captain of the ship. The other is an interview in Turkish with English subtitles and it’s with the ship’s chief officer (Hat Tip: Shy Guy). It was also apparently conducted by the IDF (toward the end, you hear some Hebrew in the background. You have to take these with a grain
of salt, but the chief officer seems to imply in the middle there that the ‘third captain’ was an IHH member and was in cahoots with the terrorists. Both the captain and the third officer claim to have had no idea what was going on until they found the cut polls (I guess circular saws are not ordinary equipment on a boat – contrary to some claims that were made over the last week). And by the way, what were all those people who were stuck below deck all week thinking? Isn’t it strange that we haven’t heard from them? Hmmm. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 9:14 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel

[Excerpt from video at 7:48 : "We believe that the American Muslim community is far different than the European Muslim community. It [the American Muslim community] is historically a moderate population. And we believe that the goal of the Islamists is to radicalize that population, particularly when it comes to the youth of that population. And so, I also believe that we’re in a stealth jihad moment that most of the smart Islamist who intend upon building a caliphate here and
imposing sharia, they don’t want violence at this moment.
