Muslim mother stabs daughter in attempted honor killing in Montreal by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 3:51:54 PM

Muslim mother stabs daughter in attempted honor killing in Montreal I’ll say it again: Syria recently scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences for honor killings, but “the new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour ‘provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing.’” That’s right: two years for murder. And in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.” What’s more, a manual of Islamic law certified as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy by Al-Azhar University, the most respected authority in Sunni Islam, says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing

their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2). In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law. That’s why these honor killings keep happening — because they are broadly tolerated, even encouraged, by Islamic teachings and attitudes. Yet no authorities are calling Islamic leaders to account for this. “Mother stabbed daughter in ‘honour crime’: Police,” by Andrew Chung in the Toronto Star, June 14 (thanks to all who sent this in): MONTREAL – Favouring her left forearm, on which spots of blood had soaked through the white bandage, the woman stood in the prisoner’s box looking crushed, accused of stabbing her own daughter in what police say was an “honour crime.” After her lawyer, Tom Pentefountas, asked to delay the formal laying of charges so his client’s psychological fitness for trial could be determined, the woman’s husband stood up in the back of the court and shouted to the judge: “Please sir, my wife is innocent!” He soon began to weep, completing the picture of a family utterly torn asunder by what transpired early Sunday morning. The 19-year-old daughter remains in hospital with knife wounds to the

head, shoulders and arms. It’s believed that the daughter came home late, Pentefountas, a prominent name in the Montreal legal community, indicated to the court. One source said she is believed to have returned home after 3 a.m. The assault happened just after 8, according to police. Police based their theory that it was an honour crime on “what we saw at the scene of the crime,” said Olivier Lapointe, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service, and especially on interviews with people inside the house and the victim herself. It appeared related to the “behavior of the victim,” Lapointe said. The woman, 38-year-old Johra Kaleki, faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon…. The family, which is Afghan in origin, moved to the neighbourhood in Dorval, near Montreal’s main airport, about five years ago, according to neighbour Emery Dora. The family was pleasant, but “mostly kept to themselves,” Dora said. For instance, the father and the girls would play together but not with other children in on the street. The father, Ebrahim Ebrahimi, wouldn’t let a younger daughter play soccer with other girls in their backyard,

Dora added…. Why wouldn’t they let them play with the kuffar children? “O ye who believe! The idolaters only are unclean.” — Qur’an 9:28 Posted by Robert on June 15, 2010 3:51 PM | No Comments Print this entry | Email this entry | Digg this | del.icio.us | Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Business with Israel pays off in Jordan By JAMAL HALABY AP Writer IRBID, Jordan -- Manager Rami Kurdi snapped off a quick celebratory salute to his workers as the factory's bell rang, marking the comp... ... • YU Maccabeats – Yom Hazikaron 2009 YU Maccabeats perform at Yom Hazikaron Ceremony... • Yom Hashoah Day Commemoration- JGSCV April 11 Meeting The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County (JGSCV) will hold a general meeting, co–sponsored with Temple Adat Elohim, on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Temple Adat Elohim 2420 ... The Times apparently views any statement made by Israel or its supporters to be false until proven true beyond its ability to think up some excuse for not accepting it. After Israel released several videos showing Israeli soldiers arriving on the deck of the Mavi Marmara and being beaten by a large mob, it dismissed the footage as … “lacking context. Were they [the images] shot before or after the boarding party started using force?” Yet one can clearly see on the video

that the militants on the ship’s deck are calmly standing there, obviously not being fired upon, and the soldiers are holding onto the rope, with their guns slung over their shoulders. Forced to retreat a bit — but never acknowledging its error — the Times editorialized: “The Israelis claim that Insani Yardim Vakfi is a dangerous organization with terrorist links. They have yet to offer any evidence to support that charge.” But, of course, a vast amount of evidence had been released, including: documents showing the organization had been declared to have such links by, among other entities, the Danish government, France’s leading counterterrorism

magistrate, a previous Turkish government, and the U.S. government. The Nature of the Bureaucratic Beast by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 7:48:00 PM

There are two types of revolutionary movements, those that discharge their accumulated energy on returning power to the people and those that invest that energy into building up systems. Both are approaches to remedying injustice. The former gives the people the responsibility to guard their freedoms, the latter presumes that injustice can only be remedied by systems, not by people. The former is democratic, the latter is autocratic. The modern day liberal is autocratic. His beliefs are the product of an aristocracy which rejected rule by a hereditary aristocracy, in favor of rule by an ideological aristocracy. They called this process by which one elite winnowed itself down, revolution, but such purges were not true revolutions, they were the transition of power from people who ruled because of their blood, to people who ruled because of their revolutionary consciousness. These people too generally came from the upper to middle classes. The only difference was they believed in a new kind of aristocracy. An aristocracy built on the right of those who knew better to rule in order to improve the lives of those who did not know better. That boiled down, is the essence of the left. Democracy is not idealistic, it is realistic. It must be realistic because it disperses its decision making among the people who rule it. Those people have natural human failings. Rule by democracy means playing the odds. It means not investing too much in any particular wave, but having confidence that the combined waves will eventually carry the ship home. Centralization is alien to democracy, because it means investing in systems at the expense of the people. The increasing centralization of a government also means a reduction in the extent to which the people participate in its decisions. In a democracy, individuals do the long term planning, while governments do the short term planning, because all long term planning is subject to revision, when the government is subject to revision. This is its weakness as it combines a wise people with a government that has difficulty thinking more than a few years ahead. When central planning becomes the focus however, individuals do only short term planning, while governments do all the long term planning for them. This is a far more devastating weakness in the long run, because it combines a foolish people with an arrogant government. Liberal aristocracy is not realistic, it

is idealistic. It does not follow workable policies, but policies that it believes must work, because they accord with their ideological view of the world, or simply the will of their leader. Where democracy suffers from ’spot fallibility’, the centralized systems of the left suffer from ‘total fallibility’. This resembles a unit with several internal serviceable parts that can be swapped out and replaced, as opposed to a sealed single integrated unit that cannot be serviced. The former can have parts that will fail and be replaced, and still go on working. The latter will simply fail and take everything down with it. Movements which claim to be revolutionary and liberationist, which instead are quickly revealed to oppressive and elitist, reveal a fundamental hypocrisy. And grand hypocrisy in the ideals of a movement demonstrate its unworkability, just as a product whose description differs fundamentally from its actual functionality will never do what its buyers expect it to do. In a political movement, hypocrisy may be similarly described as a divergence between words and actions. When words and actions dramatically diverge, it means that the stated purpose of a movement is not its real purpose. The stated purpose of the left is to liberate, but its actions are oppressive. And it is its actions which are therefore truly revealing, not its words. Hypocrisy is revealed in that gap between actions and words. The wider the gap, the more unstable the actual policies of the movement will be. Since goals are most easily met when there is the least divergence between the real goals and the stated goals, major gaps result in goals which can never be met. When goals are unmeetable because of flaws in

the ideals of the movement itself, the movement can either confront the gap between its ideals and its actual aims, or maintain ideological conformity through ideological xenophobia, by blaming outside enemies and internal subversives for its failures. Either way its only remedy is likely to be more of the same, expanding the very systems that are failing. Ideological autocracies that are revolutionary require a constant revolution to maintain their vigor. This means fighting internal and external enemies. Since political autocracy is institutional, liberal autocrats thrive on tearing down existing institutions and replacing them with their own institutions. Habitually distrustful of natural institutions such as the family. they insist on replacing them with artificial institutions of their own making. Once overlaid with laws and given large responsibilities, these institutions quickly devolve into bureaucracies. The more control is exercised over them, the more centralized they become. Each modification only adds another layer of bureaucracy. Reform of the bureaucracy then itself becomes an exercise in expanding the size and scope of the bureaucracy. Bureaucracies also make for a wonderful cover for hypocrisy as they appear to be governed by wholly objective rules. This of course ignores the underlying bias at the heart of bureaucracy. The bias of the system. Human laws are those laws which protect human beings from each other and the system. Inhuman laws are those laws which protect systems from human beings. Bureaucracy thrives on inhuman laws, because by equating human welfare with its workings, it acquires a superhuman status. Bureaucracy becomes next to

godliness. Centralization requires a constant expansion of the size of government in order to accommodate larger responsibilities. This process can rapidly transform a democracy into a bureaucracy, as such a system cannot be run by the people. Instead it is run by a series of internal laws, overseen by managers who outlast virtually all politicians. While politicians may try to dictate to bureaucracies, their ability to interfere in the internal workings of the bureaucracy is limited by the same process that makes it impossible to people to manage those bureaucracies. Size. Where businesses expand through revenues, bureaucracies expand through the scope of their responsibilities. Since all institutions seek to expand, yet businesses are limited in the scope of their expansion by their revenues, while bureaucracies are only limited by the scope of their responsibilities– bureaucracies are able to expand well beyond businesses. And they are not bound by resources, as those resources are derived from the winners in the economy. Unlike businesses who have to bet on the right horse to win, bureaucracies win no matter which horse comes in first. Because they are built on resources taken from the businesses who won the bet. Bureaucracy is the perfect pair to liberal aristocracy, because both of them are undemocratic. Bureaucracy eventually swallows revolutionary impulses, making them into another aspect of the system. A system that is wholly corrupt, because it wields power without oversight. Thus bureaucracy becomes the ultimate expression of that fundamental hypocrisy at the heart of the revolutionary impulse by aristocrats promising freedom to the people they would rule over. It reaffirms their rule, drowns their opponents in regulations and fosters secret systems of loyalties and affinities within the bureaucracy that can be used for internal feuds and rewards. When power is invested in a system, the system itself becomes the expression of that power, wholly apart from any goals that it was originally meant to serve. When an ideology invests power in a system, the system comes to represent the meaning of that ideology. Bureaucracy is the terminus of all ideologies that steal power from the people. It is an expression of their belief in the system over the people. Those who would rule in the name of the people, must either give up power to the people, or cease to deny the hypocrisy at the root of their ideology. Bureaucracy is institutionalized hypocrisy, it is the product of rulers who believe in systems rather than in NATURE page 5

Lieberman: Obama wrong not to identify enemy as radical violent Islamist extremist misunderstanders of Islam by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 4:04:30 PM

Lieberman: Obama wrong not to identify enemy as radical violent Islamist extremist misunderstanders of Islam Lieberman is certainly closer to the truth than is Obama, and the Senator is to be applauded for that. But his formulation still opens the door for the advance of Islamic supremacism and Sharia in the U.S. “Lieberman: Obama Wrong on Radical Islam,” by Jim Meyers in Newsmax, June 15: The new National Security Strategy released by the Obama White House last month refuses to recognize that our nation is at war with violent Islamist extremism, according to Sen. Joseph Lieberman. The Independent Democrat from Connecticut writes in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece that the 2006 National Security Strategy correctly identified America’s enemy as transnational terrorists who “exploit the proud religion of Islam to serve a violent political vision.” The new Security Strategy omits that statement. The administration is wrong to eschew those words and the term “violent Islamist extremism” and

instead use “violent extremism,” which is too broad and includes elements that are not at war with the U.S., Lieberman notes. Administration officials would argue that the term “violent Islamist extremism” bolsters our enemy’s propaganda assertion that the West is at war with Islam, but that logic is “completely unsound,” Lieberman declares. “Muslims in fact understand better than anyone else the enormous difference between their faith and the terrorist political ideology that has exploited it . . . “We must encourage and empower the non-violent Muslim majority to raise their voices to condemn the Islamist extremist ideology as a desecration of Islam.” George W. Bush and his administration did their level best between September 12, 2001 and January 20, 2009 to encourage and empower the Vast Majority of Peaceful Muslims to act against the Tiny Minority of Extremists who had Hijacked the Religion of Peace™. What did they have to show for it as they passed the baton to Obama and his administration? Pakistan’s double game — and an array of Muslim Brotherhood-linked organizations in the U.S. that have paid lip service to condemning terrorism, but haven’t

done a single thing actually to fight against the jihad doctrine or Islamic supremacism among Muslims in the U.S. Almost ten years after 9/11, and Lieberman is still talking about having to “encourage and empower the non-violent Muslim majority to raise their voices to condemn the Islamist extremist ideology as a desecration of Islam.” Yet they’ve been encouraged and empowered for ten years, and what is the result? How much encouragement do they need? When, if ever, will people like Lieberman — to say nothing of Obama — start to wonder if this endless failure of the non-violent Muslim majority to do anything effective against the jihadists might say something about their real priorities and loyalties? The White House is also wrong to identify America’s enemy in the war on terror as simply al-Qaida and its affiliates, Lieberman states. “Defining the enemy by reference to al-Qaida implies that this war in primarily about destroying an organization, rather than defeating a broader political ideology. This war will not end when al-Qaida has been vanquished . . . but only when the ideology of violent Islamist extremism that inspires and predates it is decisively rejected. That ideology

motivates many other groups and individuals . . . “We must recognize the nature of the fight we are in, not paper it over.” Uh, yeah. "I’ve become an enemy of the people for speaking the truth about Islam" by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 4:55:29 PM

“I’ve become an enemy of the people for speaking the truth about Islam” So says Bruce Bawer. “When it comes to the right to speak one’s mind about Islam, the record of the last few years makes it clear which direction the West is moving in.” Indeed. The official fictions are ever more strictly enforced. It is only a matter of time. But…the truth will always remain the truth, and it will come out in other ways. “I’ve Become an Enemy of the People for Speaking the Truth About Islam: I’ve now been singled out, in a report commissioned and funded by the government of Norway, as a perpetrator of Islamophobia. Am I about to be hauled into court?,” by Bruce Bawer in Pajamas Media, June 15 (thanks to Aaron): When it comes to the right to speak

one’s mind about Islam, the record of the last few years makes it clear which direction the West is moving in. In France and Italy, Oriana Fallaci is put on trial for disparaging Islam. In Canada, Mark Steyn and Ezra Levant are hauled before “human rights commission” tribunals for criticizing Islam in print. In Australia, an Islamic organization sues two pastors for “vilification of Muslims.” In Britain, a Daily Telegraph columnist is arrested on charges of hate speech for having written negatively about Islam, and the Archbishop of Canterbury proposes that Parliament pass stronger laws against such speech acts. And in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders, the head of the Freedom Party, which performed so well in the June 9 general elections that Wilders may end up in the governing coalition, still faces trial for having made a film about the Koranic foundations of terrorism. Then there’s Norway, where I live,

and where the last few days have seen yet another dark development. By way of background, permit me to begin by quoting myself. On pages 230-31 of my book Surrender: Appeasing Islam, Sacrificing Freedom I sum up the more alarming aspects of Norway’s Discrimination Law, passed in 2005: It forbids “harassment on the grounds of ethnicity, national origin, ancestry, skin color, language, religion, or beliefs,” and, in turn, defines harassment as “actions, omissions, or utterances [my emphasis] that have the effect or are intended to have the effect of being insulting, intimidating, hostile, degrading, or humiliating.” In other words, it’s illegal just to say certain things. [...] Which means that a handful of farleft organizations have been given enormous power to silence those they disagree with. Or to silence those who speak about things they don’t want you to know

about, like the truth about Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacism. Read it all. Guilty pleas in honor killing of Aqsa Parvez by Marisol (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 4:50:23 PM

Guilty pleas in honor killing of Aqsa Parvez Unlike Syria and Jordan, Canada provides for an automatic life sentence. An update on this story. “Guilty plea in Aqsa Parvez honour killing,” by Michelle Mandel for the Toronto Sun, June 15: The father and brother of Aqsa Parvez have pleaded guilty to murdering the rebellious 16-year-old in an abhorrent honour killing. Muhammad Parvez, 60, and his son, Waqas, 29, pleaded guilty to seconddegree murder Tuesday in the Dec. 10 2007 strangulation of Aqsa and they face an automatic term of life in prison. At the time of her shocking murder, which Peel Police have described as a “planned and deliberate act,” the Grade 11 Mississauga student was estranged from her Muslim family because she was bristling at their restrictions. She had moved in with a friend’s family and no longer wore a hijab in her Applewood high school in Mississauga. In an agreed statement of facts read by Sandra Caponecchia, court heard Aqsa, who had already been promised by her family in an arranged

marriage, ran away from home twice because of her lack of freedom. With assistance from her school counselor, she stayed at a shelter the first time and with a friend the next. Despite her father allowing her to wear Western clothes and begging her to return, she refused to come back. She had told her friends that her dad had sworn on the Koran that he would kill her if she ran away again. On Dec. 10, her brother Waqsa confronted her at the school bus stop and she was taken away in the Parvez van at about 7:20 am. Just over 30 minutes later, her father called 911 and said he “killed his daughter” using his hands. Police found her fully clothed in her basement bedroom, lying face up and with no vital signs. An autopsy determined she’d died from “neck compressions.” Her mother Anwar Jan told police that she questioned her husband about why he’d killed her. “He said this is my insult. My community will say you have not been able to control your daughter. This is my insult. She is making me naked.” When asked if she disagreed with what he’d done, Aqsa’s mother refused to protest his actions.“I cannot say anything. Whatever he thinks, he knows about it. “

Waqsa, a tow truck driver, told a coworker that he intended to kill his sister and his father would take the blame. “Waqas explained …that his sister was causing the family embarrassment and he had to do it.” He later told the friend that the guilt was killing him. “He admitted choking her until she died and said that there was no evidence against him,” the Crown said in the agreed statement. “Waqas also explained how what happened was partly Aqsa’s own fault because he had tried twice to talk to her and he even offered to get her own apartment and pay for it so she didn’t have to work and she rejected his offers.” Her mother, dressed in a white hijab and black cloak, looked on and wiped away tears as Justice Bruce Durno said the two killers face at least 10 years in prison before being eligible for parole. The father, dressed in a blue sweatshirt, and his son, his hair slicked back in a ponytail, showed little emotion as they listened to the lengthy recounting of the heinous family murder. The elder Parvez came to Canada as a refugee from Pakistan in 1999 and eventually brought his wife and eight children. Aqsa was the youngest and just 11 when she arrived here. All but three of the siblings were wed in arranged marriages to cousins

in Pakistan who later joined them in Canada…. French dhimmi cops ban sausage and booze party for fear of offending Muslims by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 4:46:29 PM

French dhimmi cops ban sausage and booze party for fear of offending Muslims Of course, it was to be held in a “heavily Muslim neighborhood” — a provocation, to be sure. And yet I can’t help but wonder what might have happened if a Muslim group in France had announced that it was going to do something in a nonMuslim area that many non-Muslims found offensive. (That would not be the same thing as holding the halal event in the same area, as described in the article below.) I expect that the same police who banned this party would be protecting the Muslims physically and lecturing the nonMuslims about “tolerance.” “French police ban planned street party serving pork and wine in heavily Muslim neighborhood,” by Pierre-Yves Roger for Associated Press, June 15 (thanks to all who sent this in): PARIS (AP) — French police have

banned a street party whose organizers planned to serve alcoholic cocktails and pork sausages in a heavily Muslim neighborhood of Paris, authorities said in a statement Tuesday. Police said the party, called “Sausage and Booze,” could have been viewed as a provocation in the Goutte-d’Or neighborhood of northern Paris, where many Muslims pray on the streets because there are not enough mosques. Alcohol and pork are forbidden by Islam and the party had been slated for just after Friday’s main Muslim weekly prayers. Organizers said they were holding the party to protest Islam’s encroachment on traditional French values in the neighborhood. Muslim groups had announced a counterparty serving halal, or religiously approved, food. Police banned both events. “Because of the organization, location, day and timing chosen, as well as the counterparty plans, this event … creates grave risks of public trouble,” the police statement said. Police also said they met at length

with organizers on Tuesday before announcing the ban. French rights group SOS Racisme praised the ban on the party, which they called it a “flagrant call for hatred.” The woman who organized the party on Facebook and gives her name as Sylvie Francois denies any ties to the extreme right. She told the free daily Metro newspaper on Tuesday that she had launched the party as a way to “express exasperation.” She complained that the “Islamization” of her working-class neighborhood was “more and more ostentatious,” and complained that Muslims now block several streets during Friday prayers. “It offends my concept of the republic’s secularism, I feel increasingly excluded in the neighborhood,” Francois said…. Russians helping transfer weapons from Syria to Hezbullah? by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 9:12:00 PM

Russians helping transfer weapons from Syria to Hezbullah? A NATO submarine stationed off the coast of the Syrian port of Tartus has photographed weapons and military equipment being shipped to Hezbullah. And there may be Russians involved in the transfer. As part of the body’s Active Endeavor anti-terrorist operation, the Spanish submarine Sirocco S-72 snapped a photo of a ship sailing from the Syrian port of Tartus on March 2, bearing dozens of military vehicles. The ship’s flag, and its destination, were deemed classified information, and are not available to the media. However, the Defence Forum of India noted that it took less than a month for Israel’s President Shimon Peres to announce to reporters that Syria had transferred Scud missiles to Hizbullah. That message, noted the report, was quickly followed up by one from King Abdullah II of Jordan, who began to talk of the “high risk” of a looming conflict in the region. Last month the British newspaper The Times claimed to have access to satellite images showing a Hizbullah complex near the Syrian town of Adra, northwest of Damascus. The images allegedly revealed shelters, weapons and a fleet of trucks, presumably to be used for transfer. … Syria has repeatedly denied that it has transferred weapons to the

terrorist organization – but Israeli military intelligence has continued to emphasize the group is receiving Scud missiles and Syrian-made M600 mid-range missiles from Damascus. The M-600 is an improved version of the Iranian Fatah-110 missile, carrying a 1,000-pound warhead. It is fitted with a GPS-aided inertial navigation, upgrading it from a simple terrorist weapon to an outright military threat. Moreover, because it is solid-fueled, it can be fired without preparation, as opposed to the Scud missile, which must be protected from air strikes during fueling because it requires liquid fuel. According to an article published in the May 17 issue of Aviation Week, the latest Syrian variant of the Scud missile is equipped with a 500-meter CEP (complex event processing) system – meaning that the missile can identify and proceed to the most

Overnight music video As I mentioned last week, this week is also part of wedding season. This week’s toll is three weddings tonight (okay, I was only planning to go to two but the second and third ones were next door to each other so I stopped in on the other side to say “Mazal Tov”) including one out-oftown, one wedding tomorrow night and one wedding Thursday night. And a Bar Mitzva last night and another Bar Mitzva Thursday night to boot. At the first wedding I was at tonight, two little kids – one the brother of the bride I am told (I was on the groom’s side) – got up and sang v’Zakeini, the first song on this video. This is (mostly) Dovid Dachs. He gets some accompaniment from his father Shloime in this video. And he

The ranges of both reportedly extend to at least 600 kilometers, enabling them to reach beyond Tel Aviv or Jerusalem from southern Lebanon. … A quiet discussion spotted recently between defense and military personnel on an Internet military aviation forum posed the question, “Has anyone even considered what it would take for Hizbullah to manage and launch such weapons?” The writer went on to note that even though the terrorist group had “used that cruise missile a while back…. still, does anyone really think a thirdworld terrorist group has sufficiently trained personnel to handle such weapons? Methinks one will find

more than a few Syrians, Iranians and North Koreans among the service personnel. And if that is true, why isn’t a bigger fuss being raised over such support of terrorism?” I would guess that in addition to Syrians, Iranians and North Koreans, there are also Russians supporting the transfer of weapons from Syria to Hezbullah, and maybe also with the handling of the weapons. The Russians have been upgrading the port of Tartus in order to establish a Russian base in Syria. Under those circumstances, it is inconceivable that weapons could be transferred through the port of Tartus without the Russians’ consent and participation. Why isn’t anyone in an official position raising a fuss over these weapons transfers? And now an oil war? by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 7:19:00 PM

And now an oil war? Over the past few months, Israel has had a couple of major natural gas finds in the Mediterranean off our northeast coast. The finds are so significant that Israel could find itself energy independent, which is quite important to us given the Arab refusal to sell oil to us. Although the wells are in Israeli territorial waters, and although private investors in Israel have spent millions of dollars exploring the wells (I had occasion to review several of the prospectuses that raised money for the exploration), Hezbullah – yes Hezbullah – is now trying to lay claim to them. The terrorist organization warned that it will not allow Israel to take possession of the offshore fields, which could make the Jewish State energy self-sufficient for the first time in history. The As-Safir Lebanese newspaper told its readers that the gas field “was located between Israeli and Cypriot territorial waters and stretches toward the Lebanese coast.”Lebanese newspapers also reported that previous Israeli gas finds “were either taking place in areas stretching to Lebanese territorial waters or other spots far away from the Israeli coast.” Hizbullah’s claims were stated by the

party’s executive council chief Hashem Safieddine, who was quoted by the Tehran Times as saying it would not allow Israel to “loot” Lebanese gas resources. Lebanese parliamentary speaker Nabih Berri previously said, “Israel is racing to make the case a fait accompli and was quick to present itself as an oil emirate, ignoring the fact that, according to the maps, the deposit extends into Lebanese waters. Exploring our options in this field is our best bet to pay off Lebanon’s debts.” The Israeli government immediately responded to the Lebanese claims, saying they are totally unfounded and that all of the gas and oil fields are off the coast of Israel and not Lebanon. Dr. Yaakov Mimran, director of energy exploration for the National

Infrastructures Ministry, called the claims “nonsense.” He added, “These noises occur when they smell gas. Until then they sit quietly and let the other side spend the money.” Marine law expert Amir Cohen-Dor told the Globes business news service that the Dalit and Tamar gas fields are within Israel’s contiguous economic zone, and that United Nations regulations clearly state that Israel can develop them. That’s all well and true, but as you all know we’re Israel and we’re judged by a different standard in anything having to do with the ‘international community.’ What could go wrong? posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 5:19 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Israel issues 500-page report to refute Goldstone Israel issues 500page report to refute Goldstone posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 8:07 PM... • Shavuot Part 3 Here's part 3 of 5... • “Unacceptable trousers” From the Saudi Gazette:MADINA – A man here has accused the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Hai’a) of assaulting him and holding him illegally inside a restaurant on ... What Hamas does with concrete by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/15/2010 10:22:00 PM

What Hamas does with concrete I know that a lot of you may be wondering why Israel does not allow concrete into Gaza. Well, here’s why. Hamas is demanding more cement to restore what they claim was destroyed by the IDF, but new photos show the cement is being used for military purposes. Army intelligence information has found that in recent months there has been a substantial increase in cement and concrete used by the military wing of Hamas in Gaza. Much of the military formations are built deep inside the Gaza Strip in areas full of civilians to use them as “human shields”. Each week, Israel allows thousands of tons of suplies in dozens of trucks to cross into Gaza from Israel filled

with cement as well as other supplies under the guise of humanitarian aid. The West sides with Hamas by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel)

The West sides with Hamas Caroline Glick reports that Israel made a mistake by establishing the Turkel commission and by going along with any international investigation of the flotilla follies at all. She says that the game is rigged from the start: The West – led by President Obumbler – has embraced Hamas. It is not surprising that Obama is siding with Hamas. His close associates are leading members of the pro-Hamas Free Gaza outfit. Obama’s friends, former Weatherman Underground terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and William Ayres participated in a Free Gaza trip to Egypt in January. Their aim was to force the Egyptians to allow them into Gaza with 1,300 fellow Hamas supporters. Their mission was led by Code Pink leader and Obama fundraiser Jodie Evans. Another leading member of Free Gaza is former US senator from South Dakota James Abourezk. All of these people have open lines of communication not only to the Obama White House, but to Obama himself. Obama has made his sympathy for the Muslim Brotherhood clear several times since entering office. The Muslim Brotherhood’s progeny include Hamas, al Qaida and the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, among others. Last June, Obama infuriated the Egyptian government when he insisted on inviting leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood to attend his speech at Al Azhar University in Cairo. His administration’s decision

to deport Hamas deserter and Israeli counter-terror operative Mosab Hassan Yousef to the Palestinian Authority where he will be killed is the latest sign of their support for radical Islam. Given Obama’s attitude towards jihadists and the radical leftists who support them his decision to support Hamas against Israel makes sense. What is alarming however is how leaders of the free world are now all siding with Hamas. That support has become ever more apparent since the Mossad’s alleged killing of Hamas terror master Mahmoud al Mabhouh at his hotel in Dubai in January. Read it all. It’s grim, but unfortunately, it’s way too plausible and explains way too many events and actions to be ignored. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 6:34 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Hamas renews offer to end fight if

I’m just back from a trip to America to attend the National Cartoonists Society’s Annual Awards Weekend, where I gave a presentation on the history of Dry Bones.
