Israel’s Updated Gaza Strip Policy by jeremy (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 3:06:47 PM
Over the past few months, Israel began easing restrictions on the flow of goods into Gaza. This was met with approval by UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon during his visit to the region. Israel’s policy towards the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip is not stagnant and is always changing in response to regional security. Over this past weekend, the Israeli Cabinet voted to approve a number of measures which will create a much simpler policy towards the closure of Gaza. The goal of the closure has always been to eliminate the flow of combatants and deny Hamas weaponry which it has, and will continue to use against Israelis and Palestinians. However, the updated policy will make the distinction between what is and what is not allowed into Gaza clearer. All goods, food products, medicine etc. will continue to enter Gaza with no restrictions. But rather than publish a list of what is allowed, the Israeli government has decided it will be simpler to have only a list of what is not allowed. This way, there is no confusion and the world can see that Israel has no intentions to deny Gazans needed goods. Again,
everything that is not on the published list of banned materials (grenades and rifles etc.) will pass through any and all Israeli-operated crossings. The policy of liberalizing the entry of civilian goods into Gaza is meant to enable the civilian population to engage in routine economic and civilian activity, while simultaneously preventing the entry of weapons and materiel that could help the Hamas terror regime to strike at Israeli citizens. Any civilian product that is not on the list of prohibited items will be allowed in. As for “dual use” items, or goods that can be used either for civilian projects or terrorism, Israel will allow them entry to Gaza. With the help of international bodies, Israel is creating a system in which “dual use” goods such as raw metals and chemicals will be delivered with assurances from third parties that its destination is not Hamas but the people of Gaza. To ensure the safety and prosperity of the Palestinian people living in Gaza, efforts must be made to ensure that Hamas does not hijack incoming aid, which has been happening on a daily basis. Said Robert Serry, special envoy of the United Nations SecretaryGeneral, “This targeting [by Hamas] of NGOs, including UN partner organizations, is unacceptable, violating accepted norms of a free
society and harming the Palestinian people. The de facto authorities must cease such repressive steps and allow the re-opening of these civil society institutions without delay.” The policy of closure on the Gaza Strip is anchored in international rules of law and treaties (including the Geneva Convention and the San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea). The policy was also authorized by the Israel Supreme Court, an independent body not tied to politics of the ruling government. Restrictions on the entry of goods into the Gaza Strip is now at a bare minimum, in which items banned are comparable to what one is not allowed to bring to the United States from Canada. Make no mistake, Israel’s sanctions against Hamas authorities will continue to deny them weapons to use against innocent civilians, both Israeli and Palestinian. The people of Gaza are not our enemy, and we hope that this updated policy will strength Palestinians while weakening Hamas, which refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist. How’s that ‘engagement’ going Mr. President? by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 3:40:00 PM
How’s that ‘engagement’ going Mr. President? Back in February, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hezbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah came to Damascus for what al-Quds al-Arabi editor Bari Atwan called a ‘ war council.’ On Monday, Kuwait’s Al-Anba newspaper reported that another war council will take place, and this time it will also include members of Hamas (Hat Tip: Memeorandum). The meeting, according to the anonymous source quoted in the paper, will take place in late June, under official Syrian patronage, in an
effort to activate resistance in the region in light of an expected Israeli offensive against Iran or against Hizbullah in Lebanon. Initial arrangements for the meeting, according to senior Palestinian sources speaking to the Kuwaiti paper, were made at a commemoration event for leader of the Iranian revolution in 1979 Ayatollah Syed Ruhollah Moosavi Khomeini, who died on 4 June 1989. As part of an apparent ramp up in relations between Palestinian opposition factions – namely Hamas and Islamic Jihad – Lebanon and Syria, the groups were reportedly permitted to establish community centers in the refugee camps of southern Lebanon, which had previously been prohibited in favor of
involvement from PLO-faction centers, the paper reported. Three words: Target. Rich. Environment. Heh. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 1:40 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Jerusalem Palestinians fear eviction by Israel – 17 Apr 09 George Mitchell, the US special envoy to the

Obama’s Collapsing Base by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 8:14:00 PM
In a single year Obama lost the support of independent voters and liberal Republicans by passing the left’s agenda. And this year, he is well on the way to losing the support of the left for not passing enough of their agenda. Being too left wing for mainstream America, and too mainstream for the left is not a new problem for the Democratic party. It’s a problem they’ve faced since what had been the counterculture became the party establishment. But it’s a special problem for the man who rose to power as the poster child of the left. Barack Hussein Obama. 2008 was the left’s big moment. Its chance to seize control of the Democratic party and through it all of America. The progressive radicalization of liberalism had allowed the left to mainstream its ideas within the party. The 8 years of the Bush Administration had also allowed the left to be in the vanguard of the opposition, which through their grass roots organizations, funded by the likes of Soros, they made sure to translate into also being in the vanguard of the party as a whole. Taking down Hillary, who had been positioning herself as a conservative Democrat, was Job 1. Picking the horse to ride to the White House was Job 2. The main two contenders were John Edwards and Barack Obama. Initially Edwards looked like the better candidate to sell America on the left’s agenda by wrapping it up in the sugary rhetoric of compassion with some obligatory JFK New Frontier homages. But to many Edwards seemed like yet another version of Bill Clinton, a Southern Democrat who spoke the progressive language, but had enough realpolitik to draw the line at his own political welfare. And as it turned out, Edwards shared yet another of Clinton’s proclivities which made him politically unsuitable. Obama was a bigger risk, but he came with “deep backing” from luminaries like Ayers. The only obstacle for the party was to make him seem mainstream enough to be electable. Which they did by wrapping him in the flag at every opportunity and keeping his rhetoric focused away from specifics and toward high minded generalities. The left thought it had its candidate. So did the party. Both spent a great deal of money to put him in the White House, but neither of them really spent very much time thinking about who Barack Hussein Obama really was. Obama’s native instincts as the eternal outsider allowed him to wear numerous disguises. And so he had no really trouble finessing a new set of dual identities, as both a radical
and a moderate at the same time. But the problem with maintaining contradictory identities is that sooner or later you have to commit. The agenda of the left and that of the party were not completely incompatible. Both for example wanted socialized medicine and cap and trade. But the main priority for the Democratic party leadership was getting to power and staying there. For the left however, the agenda always comes first. And both naturally assumed that Obama shared their priorities. Careerism for the party. And ideology for the left. What neither of them considered was that Obama was even more of a fraud than Edwards or Clinton. Because Obama was not just hiding mere run of the mill political hypocrisy or personal infidelity, he was living a lie in a much more profound way. Politicians commonly pretend to care about things to appeal to voters. But Obama had been pretending to care about things all his life. He had spent the better part of his life playing the chameleon, and this made him a natural politician, but underneath all that was a coldness and detachment that exceeded that of any normal politician. Obama had learned quickly that identity is more defined by the things you care about, than the country you come from or the color of your skin. There was only one problem, he didn’t care about any of those things. He cared only about himself. The administration that Obama put together was a compromise. Clinton people out front and the radicals just behind them. The Clinton people were there to reassure the party, but often they had titles, but not real power or access. The radicals were there to reassure the left that everything was going according to plan. Obama came into office with a halo and golden wings, surrounded by propaganda more worthy of North Korea, than the United States of America. The left assumed that this would give him unlimited power. Saner Democrats knew better and assumed that the White House did too. What followed was the usual “Pigs at the Trough” scene as the victors dug in and began feeding off
the crisis. Stimulus and bailout, takeover and take home checks. For Obama it was an endless party, an extension of his campaign but with more stature and a bigger budget. Plane trips anywhere he wanted. Vacation homes. Glamorous parties and dinners. The D.C. party circuit that had been moribund during 8 years of Bush was back with a vengeance. For his associates, it was a chance to cash in. For the left, it was about pushing their agenda, their way. Everyone was acting as if they had won the Superbowl, when what they had really won was a chance to be responsible for a major economic crisis. And internally no one was happy. Obama had protected himself by playing divide and conquer, setting up conflicts within his administration, while he stood back and let them fight it out. This aggravated the existing fault lines within the Democratic camp and created the appearance of an absentee landlord. Democratic party insiders began to see Obama as oddly distant and a neophyte lacking in basic management skills. The left meanwhile was becoming increasingly irritated because they weren’t getting their way often enough. The left wanted radical change, while party politicians wanted to stay in power. Obama had to choose between two sides. Mainstream party donors who wanted stability and radical donors and their grass roots networks who wanted radical change. A talented politician might have been able to keep both sides working together. Obama was not the man for the job. And while he was trying to keep both sides happy, he was thoroughly alienating mainstream Americans. Obamacare was when it all went south, as a panicked Democratic congress was herded into supporting a wildly unpopular plan. A plan that an embittered left thought didn’t go far enough, but turned independent voters into Tea Party supporters. It was the ugliest and biggest pork pie in a series of them, which nobody but Joe Biden seemed happy about. Alienating the left was a dangerous thing to do, because they were the
ones who had provided Obama with a radical halo. This was what drove the press to treat him as the love child of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, to shamelessly drool all over him, and denounce any and all opponents of him as ruthlessly as a Pravda editorial. Ideology is the messianism of the left. And as the left grows dissatisfied with Obama– his ideological halo dims, and the media begins to stir and ask uncomfortable questions. The Democrats have lost faith in Obama’s political invulnerability. Candidates are actively ducking his endorsements even in primary races. The left meanwhile is losing faith in Obama’s revolutionary conscience, his willingness to do whatever it takes to push their agenda through. Communist regimes usually purged their own ranks after a revolution to get rid of the fire breathers, who become an inconvenience once the practical issues of governance have to be decided. Previous Democratic administrations did not have gulags or firing squads at their disposal, they simply sidelined the left and let them protest impotently. Obama has not taken that road yet, mainly because he comes from the left, and because such a purge would thoroughly alienate his non-minority base. But he may not have a choice. In 2008, Obama ran against the War in Iraq, against economic malaise and an out of touch administration. It’s 2010 and as far as his base is concerned, nothing has really changed. Which means they’re less likely to bother voting and more likely to invest their energies into backing even more marginal candidates on the left. Another year of this and the only people who will still be invested in an Obama Administration are the people making money off his bailouts, programs and laws. And that can only repulse the public even more. Obama alienated the center by pandering to his base and alienated his base by not giving them everything they wanted right away. The Democratic party has stopped celebrating him and come to the realization that for the next few years they’re stuck with him. The left is teetering on the edge of throwing him over for another socialist knight in rotten armor. And as his base collapses, he has few options left. Nepal: School textbook banned for Overnight "feminine" depiction of Muhammad music video by Marisol (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 4:53:23 PM
Nepal: School textbook banned for “feminine” depiction of Muhammad Of course, depictions of Muhammad are verboten to begin with, but given women’s status in Islam, maybe that’s why making Muhammad in any way “feminine” is such an insult. “Nepal bans school book after Muslim outcry,” from Indo-Asian News Service, June 21 (thanks to Twostellas): The Nepal government Monday banned a school textbook after growing outcry by Muslims over an ‘objectionable’ illustration depicting Prophet Mohammed as a woman-like figure and containing ‘erroneous interpretations’ of Islam. It would be interesting to see what the problem was with the image that got it tagged as “woman-like.” This is the first time in Nepal, which has enjoyed religious harmony despite being a Hindu kingdom till 2006, that the government has banned a book after protests by Muslims. The education ministry issued a statement asking schools not to teach from the controversial textbook – ‘A modern approach to social studies’ – brought out by New Nepal Publication. It said that the book was not authorised by the department that supervises all school textbooks and
added that it should not be taught in schools. All school books authorised by the government respected religious and cultural sentiments, it said. The first objections were raised by Muslim Association Nepal that called a press conference in the capital last week to object to the controversial book as well as two others. Mohammad Nizamuddin, senior vice -president of the association, told IANS that the books gave wrong information about Prophet Mohammed, erroneously describing him as the ‘founder of Islam’. ‘We Muslims believe Allah created the universe and that the Islam religion existed since creation,’ Nizamuddin told IANS. ‘Because many people did not know this and other things about Islam, Prophet Mohammed came as the messenger of Allah to explain things to people.’ Not only is it radical historical revisionism, but a demand for textbooks to accept a matter of Islamic faith as fact. The now banned book, meant to be taught in class 8, also carried an illustration of Prophet Mohammed looking like a woman. Islam forbids idolatrous depictions and there is no authentic historical record to establish what Prophet Muhammad looked like. Two other books have also come under fire for similar transgressions. These are ‘Nepal Social Studies’ published by Athrai Publications and
‘Asia’s Social Studies’ by Asia Publications. Nizamuddin said that ‘Nepal Social Studies’ has also been banned and Muslim organisations would continue with their vigil for corrective measures against the third book as well. Nizamuddin said the government had also announced it would form a committee to supervise textbooks and prevent such errors in future…. Times Square jihadist says he is "guilty and 100 times more" by Robert (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 3:04:58 PM
Times Square jihadist says he is “guilty and 100 times more” And he says he wanted to set off the bomb because the U.S. is “terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people.” Now would be a perfect opportunity for ostensible “moderates” like Honest Ibe Hooper and Brave Ahmed Rehab to explain why they don’t believe that the U.S. is terrorizing Muslim nations, and don’t think Muslims should be waging jihad against the U.S. Honest Ibe? Brave Ahmed? Anyone? Anyone? “Times Square car bomb suspect pleads guilty in NYC,” from AP, June 21: NEW YORK – A Pakistan-born U.S. citizen pleaded guilty to trying to bomb Times Square and says he is “part of the answer to the U.S. terrorizing the Muslim nations and
the Muslim people.” Faisal Shahzad (FY’-sul shahZAHD’) defiantly made the statement in federal court Monday as he pleaded guilty to a 10-count indictment charging him in the failed bombing. He also says he actually tried to set off three separate bombs in an SUV parked near a Broadway theater May 1 to injure and kill people but that all three failed to ignite. The Bridgeport, Conn., resident was arrested two days later. Shahzad (FY’-sul shah-ZAHD’) said he was trained by the Pakistan Taliban in Pakistan in late December and early January before he returned to the United States in February to build his bomb. Sentencing is Oct. 5. THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below. NEW YORK (AP) — A Pakistanborn U.S. citizen pleaded guilty Monday to carrying out the failed
Times Square car bombing, saying he wanted it known that unless the U.S. stops attacking Muslim lands, “we will be attacking U.S.” Faisal Shahzad, 30, entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Manhattan just days after a federal grand jury indicted him on 10 terrorism and weapons counts, some of which carried mandatory life prison sentences. Shahzad made the plea and an accompanying statement as U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum began asking him a lengthy series of questions to ensure he understood his rights. She did not immediately accept the plea. Cedarbaum asked Shahzad if he understood he might spend the rest of his life in prison. He said he did. At one point, she asked him if he was sure he wanted to plead guilty. He said he wanted “to plead guilty and 100 times more” to let the U.S. know that if it did not get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, halt drone attacks and stop meddling in Muslim lands,

President Obama Finances Offshore Drilling in Brazil – WSJ.com by NoahDavidSimon (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 8:40:00 PM
You read that headline correctly. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration is financing oil exploration off Brazil. The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan. The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas. But look on the bright side. If President Obama has embraced offshore drilling in Brazil, why not in
the old U.S.A.? The land of the sorta free and the home of the heavily indebted has enormous offshore oil deposits, and last year ahead of the November elections, with gasoline at $4 a gallon, Congress let a ban on offshore drilling expire. The Bush Administration’s five-year plan (2007-2012) to open the outer continental shelf to oil exploration included new lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. But in 2007 environmentalists went to court to block drilling in Alaska and in April a federal court ruled in their favor. In May, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said his department was unsure whether that ruling applied only to Alaska or all offshore drilling. So it asked an appeals court for clarification. Late last month the court said the earlier decision applied only to Alaska, opening the way for the sale of leases in the Gulf. Mr. Salazar now says the sales will go forward on August 19. This is progress, however slow. But it still doesn’t allow the U.S. to explore in Alaska or along the East and West Coasts, which could be our equivalent of the Tupi oil fields, which are set to make Brazil a leading oil exporter. Americans are right to wonder why Mr. Obama is underwriting in Brazil what he won’t allow at home. via online.wsj.com …and the irony is that Brazil is allied

A prelude to war on Iran? by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel)

A prelude to war on Iran? Earlier, I reported that at least twelve war ships crossed the Suez Canal into the Red Sea on Friday. Eleven of those ships may have been American. And they may be headed for war with Iran. One day prior to the report on Saturday, Voice of Israel government radio reported that the Egyptian government denied an Israeli request not to allow the Iranian flotilla to use the Suez Canal to reach Gaza, in violation of the Israeli sea embargo on the Hamas-controlled area. International agreements require Egypt to keep the Suez open even for warships, but the armada, led by the USS Truman with 5,000 sailors and marines, was the largest in years. Egypt closed the canal to fishing and other boats as the armada moved through the strategic passageway that connects the Red and Mediterranean Seas. Despite Egypt’s reported refusal to block the canal to Iranian boats, the clearance for the American-Israeli fleet may be a warning to Iran it may face military opposition if the Iranian Red Crescent ship continues on course to Gaza. The warships may exercise the right to inspect the Iranian boat for the illegal transport or weapons. Newsweek reported that Egyptian authorities could stop the ship for weeks, using technicalities such as requiring that any official documents be translated from Farsi into Arabic.

The magazine’s website also reported that the Iranian navy is the weakest part of its armed forces. Tehran has already backed down from announced intentions to escort the Iranian ships with “volunteer marines” from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. The Iranian news site Hamsayeh.net reported, “The move might be in connection to U.S. self-inflicted embargo against Iran aimed at inspecting Iran bound ships for suspected goods related to the country’s nuclear program.” Hmmm. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 4:03 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel • Ma’ariv: Hamas trying to manufacture Qassams in the West

Most on Capitol Hill back Gaza ‘blockade’ by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 4:12:00 PM
Most on Capitol Hill back Gaza ‘blockade’ Vast majorities in both the US House and Senate have signed onto a letter being sent to President Obama urging support for Israel’s ‘blockade’ of Gaza (Hat Tip: Memeorandum). Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell, along with 83 other senators, have signed the Senate version of the letter, which is backed by AIPAC; 298 members of the House have signed on. Says the letter: We fully support Israel’s right to self -defense. In response to thousands of rocket attacks on Israel from Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Israel took steps to prevent items which could be used to support these attacks from reaching Gaza. Israel’s naval blockade, which is legal under international law, allows Israel to keep dangerous goods from entering Gaza by sea. The intent
of the measures is to protect Israel, while allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza. Late last month when Israel learned that groups operating in Turkey wanted to challenge its blockade of Gaza, Israel made every effort to ensure that all humanitarian aid reached Gaza without needlessly precipitating a confrontation. forces were able to safely divert five of the six ships challenging the blockade. However, video footage shows that the Israeli commandos who arrived on the sixth ship, which was owned by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (the IHH), were brutally attacked with iron rods, knives, and broken glass. They were forced to respond to that
attack and we regret the loss of life that resulted. A prelude to war on Iran? by Carl in Jerusalem (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 6:03:00 PM
Newsweek reported that Egyptian authorities could stop the ship for weeks, using technicalities such as requiring that any official documents

be translated from Farsi into Arabic. The magazine’s website also reported that the Iranian navy is the weakest part of its armed forces. Tehran has already backed down from announced intentions to escort the Iranian ships with “volunteer marines” from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. The Iranian news site Hamsayeh.net reported, “The move might be in connection to U.S. self-inflicted embargo against Iran aimed at inspecting Iran bound ships for suspected goods related to the country’s nuclear program.” Hmmm. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 4:03 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel

Another crisis between the Netanyahu and Obama administrations looms over housing in Jerusalem, this time because of Jerusalem’s plan to wreck 22 illegally built Arab homes to make way for an archaeological park. The Jerusalem municipality proposal also calls for making legal 66 other Arab buildings built without permits. Another similarity between Ramat Shlomo and the park project is that both of them are a long time away from final approval. “This is a preliminary planning procedure and it still gives time, more than enough time, for dialogue to continue between the municipal authorities and residents of the neighborhood in the hope an agreed solution can be found,” said Israeli government

Boker tov, Boulder!: The Gradualism of Fareed Zakaria: Cushioning Our Descent into a PostAmerican World by NoahDavidSimon (Hija del Zion para Israel - Daughter of Zion for Israel) Submitted at 6/21/2010 8:15:00 PM
Nothing surprising here — “PostAmerican,” and therefore willing to “live with” radical Islam as a “fact of life,” Fareed Zakaria now takes up space in the Washington Post e xcusing Ahmadinejad (and taking the opportunity to bash John McCain in the process): McCain reveals a startling ignorance about the Iranian regime when he argues, as in his speech, that it “spends its people’s precious resources not on roads, or schools, or hospitals, or jobs that benefit all Iranians — but on funding violent groups of foreign extremists who murder the innocent.” While Tehran does fund militant groups, one of the keys to Ahmadinejad’s popularity has
been his large-scale spending on social programs for the poor. Let’s take this last sentence bit by bit. via bokertov.typepad.com visit Boker Tov now for a visual analysis…. seriously. Using the word militant groups is insulting to anyone who knows someone who died
because of terrorist attack. It disgusts me that this guy is allowed on TV and considered impartial and objective for an American audience. Posted via web from noahdavidsimon’s posterous Hija del Zion para Israel Support Israel

via debbieschlussel.com The Obama U.S. State Department is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to send at least 400 Iraqi students to college, beginning this summer. The State Department awarded grants to the Academy for Educational Development, which is funding the college education and all expenses for these Iraqis in America and 200 more Iraqis in Great Britain. The money will also go to develop something called the Iraq Higher Education Advising Network and help Iraq to eventually send 10,000 Iraqi students to study abroad, all expenses paid. And don’t be surprised if Americans are ultimately stuck with the bill for the entire 10,000. Today is a special day. It’s the Summer Solstice. And it’s the official start of Summer. The season of heat! This Golden Oldie was done 22 years ago. in 1988. Back then buses, cabs, restaurants, living-rooms and stores were not all air-conditioned. Back then we were grumpier. I believe that the two facts are connected. Sure we continue to remark on the heat, but we do it in uncomfortably cool surroundings. The other day, when I suggested to the LSW (Long Suffering Wife) that we go out for dinner, she said “Wait, I’ll get a shawl!” Sitting in an Israeli restaurant in a summer heat wave can be a chilling experience.-Dry BonesIsrael’s Political Comic Strip Since 1973 Hija del Zion para Israel Support

Overnight music video I can’t believe I found this so quickly. At the wedding tonight, this kid (who has to be about 10-11 and is quite well known here) got up and sang this song (which is from the prayer said by many before putting on the talith in the morning – I remember the song being part of the Hasidic Song Festival in 5739-1979). His name is Yonatan Sheinfeld. Hmmm. Let’s go to the videotape. posted by Carl in Jerusalem @ 3:33 AM Hija del Zion para Israel Support
