Living in an IT age is becoming a burden in terms of the electronic waste we have to deal with. As advanced versions of computers and mobile phones hit the market, we abandon our old ones and embrace the new technology at a faster and faster pace. This has increased the number of items we have to send to a recycling plant. Here are a few tips that will help you choose the right electronic recycling company: Select a company with the necessary certifications and licences: it is important to make sure that the e-waste recycler you choose has all the licences and certificates to carry out the job.Ensure that the vendor is WEEE certified. Don't choose recyclers who do not have any certification or do not follow WEEE directives as could land you in trouble. Find out their data destruction policy: If you are concerned about what happens to the data on your electronics, find out what they do with it. As you might store confidential personal and business information on phones and laptop/computer hard disks, you need to find a vendor who offers secure data wiping. Otherwise your confidential matters stored on mobile and computers might end up in the wrong hands. Ask if your vendor can give written certification that the data has been wiped or storage media destroyed, including a record of the methods used, before giving them your e-waste for recycling. Choose an electronic recycler with a proven track record: It is better to employ a company that has a good track record of complying with environmental and other e-cycling laws. Good record keeping is one of the best practices. A professional recycler will keep detailed records including where they ship materials, how much they ship and serial numbers for items to be reused. By going for recyclers who keep records you can make sure that your used electronic items are not shipped to developing countries illegally. Look for companies that can recycle 90% or more of the materials:Electronic recyclers are supposed to recycle as much of the materials as is economically feasible, so it is better to look for a company that promises to recycle at least 90% of the materials. Beware of electronic recycling companies who state that their processes and business information are "confidential". They might be trying to hide something from you. It is recommended that you only employ electronic waste recyclers that avoid land filling or incinerating items such as mercury lamps, leaded glass and batteries. Make sure that they handle mercury lamps in laptops, computers and mobile phones in an environmental friendly manner.

Keep these facts in mind and find the right electric waste recycling company to recycle your ewaste legally.
