Dear students, At the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, you probably didn’t know what to expect from AP Psychology. The pandemic and distance learning had us all feeling scared and uncertain.
But you took on a new challenge. We began the year by learning about human social interactions, and started learning about the foundations of psychology--its perspectives, research methods, career pathways, and more.
You learned about how the brain works, how scientists study the brain and behavior, and what this tells us about our sensations, perceptions, thoughts, feelings, actions, and interactions. You learned about what motivates people, how they develop, what causes disorders, and how they are treated.
As you finish this year, I hope you begin to see psychology all around you. This scrapbook contains memories from your classmates, and I hope you are intrigued to see what everyone else found to be impactful. Enjoy, and go forth and use your new ways of thinking about the mind, brain, and behavior to improve your life and the world! Dr. Hillenbrand
