Kolkata City of Nightmares

Page 1

The City of Nightmares Don’t go to City anymore. Don’t come back home after the dark. Prowling are the sharp toothed wolves in the dark. Their hunger is ravaging over city roads. Law is not for them; these are all trifle matters! I know the faces of all these protests. Blood swells to roar in my vein and I scream. Oh mother’s clothes are lost in the street. I only cry out- let them be saved! Raise the clamor and let your voice be heard. As a father, remembering One day I also had my share of protest. One day I also walked on the road protesting the Bihar Press Bill. Hall echoed that clamor. You can still hear, it has the power We want peace to prevail and not war to rail Still I recall, Oh dear friends, still I remember today I hand you this white poster, banner. Let you raise the clamor, let you use the hammer. Oh, the city’s nightmares have come back. I only cry today and die of hatred.
