INDIAN COUNCIL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH Applications are invited for the ICMR Puraskar for Popular Medical Books in Hindi for the biennium 2010-2011 The Award is open to Indian authors. A book may be written by one or two authors only. Only published works will be accepted provided that such a work is written originally in Hindi and does not infringe the copyright of any other person. The book should be on a medical, health science, biomedical health systems and health economics topics. The author(s) should have reasonably sound background related to health/bio-medical and science. The book should not be of less than 100 pages. The book must have been written and published during the last three years preceding the year of the Awards i.e. between December 2008 and December 2011. Two awards viz. first and second (for Rs 100,000/- and Rs 50,000/- respectively) along with certificates are to be given. General Instructions: The prescribed proforma for applying these awards may be obtained from the Council by self or post or can be downloaded from ICMR website i.e. http://www.icmr.nic.in. Four copies of the duly filled application form along with 4 copies of books should be sent to the Director-General, Attention: Dr K. N. Pandey, Scientist 'E' (Hindi Publications), ICMR, V. Ramalingaswami Bhawan, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110029 so as to reach him on or before 31st July, 2012. The last date for authors residing in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, States/Union Territory in the North Eastern region, Ladakh Division of J&K State is 16th August, 2012. The Council will retain the books submitted for the award. The authors already awarded by the ICMR will not be considered for the next two award years. Those books will not be considered under this scheme which have already been awarded under any scheme of the Govt. of India or State Govts. or the Union Territory. In all matters relating to the award, the decision of the Council shall be final and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.
