What does it mean to be Human?

Brian Clement explores the inner workings of humanity and how it is understood and expressed universally. By Brian Clement

Lynne

How wonderful it is to be human. How challenging it is to be human.

This duality does not have to limit us; it can teach us about our very essence and purpose. Together, we are more powerful than alone—a sentiment that resonates loudly amid the current mental health and wellbeing crisis worldwide. But there is still a magical beauty in the chaos.

In this issue, we explore the theme of Humanity and all it encompasses to ‘experience the experience’ here on this extraordinary, beguiling planet.

We do not have to understand life fully to love it, nor should we respect only that which mirrors us, as if trapped in the world of Narcissus.

In a time when we seem to celebrate ‘Survival of the Quickest’ rather than ‘Survival of the Fittest,’ there is no better moment to explore the fundamental essence of who we truly are and the incredible heights we can achieve with patience, love, vision, and persistence. But not at the expense of others or the world around us, simply because we are human and capable of absolute magnificence and compassion.

Join us as we journey through practical insights, inspiring narratives, and profound reflections shared by world-leading wellness experts to explore the depths of Humanity and the transformative power of the unparalleled Hippocrates Lifestyle.

Be kind.

Big love,

“We are at a unique stage in our history. Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet, and never before have we had the power to do something about that. Surely, we all have a responsibility to care for our Blue Planet. The future of humanity and, indeed, all life on earth now depends on us.”
- Sir David Attenborough

The Call of Humanity

A Message from the Directors

Humanity is what we can cultivate individually for our fellow humans as well as each and every one of the 8 billion of us sharing the planet today. What differentiates humans in great part from other creatures is our ability - stemming from the limbic brain - to possess and share empathy and compassion. The majority of people today, constantly bombarded by negativity, manipulation, and misinformation, have imploded into their lesser selves (reptilian brain). This lower state of consciousness normalizes fear, anger, hatred, revenge, prejudice, judgment, and outright animalistic tendencies.

When evaluating why everything seems crazy today, it is evident that the masses distrust one another and blame everything on someone else. Looming over us like a guillotine is the cultural and societal undercurrent of insecurity, bringing about an unsettled psychological and biological state.

Here at Hippocrates Wellness, one of the core methods we use to liberate people from this perceptual disorder is to raise their aspirations and relinquish their limitations. When this is effectively embraced, and we observe the outcomes, people begin to see that they are not alone and that the very people they previously thought of as foes often become their fellow conspirators in the process of healing. As difficult as this appears when looking at it on its surface, it is a foolproof, proven way to express your true self.

In a book that I, Brian, co-authored with Dr. Kathy Powell, “Discovering You In You,” we lay out a step-by-step plan to free yourself from the frailties that you perceive to render insecurities.

We all relish:

joy, community&citizenship

Only clear, concise, and committed people empower themselves to embrace others and the contributions that all possess. Longevity has been vastly studied, focusing on pure plant foods and exercise. Today, wisely, researchers have added that human touch and support are essential to lifespan. What warms our hearts is to see mainstream science moving in the direction that we pioneered 7-decades ago. Our massive experience alongside having clinically observed the global population in our programs, have given us insight into what prevents and reverses premature death from either disease or loneliness.

We believe that as global citizens, our ultimate goal is not only to have a happy, healthy, and prosperous life but also to wish this for every other person and creature on earth. Preventing this is only one thing: your lack of self-realization, which breeds insecurity and brings about separation. Free yourself from the present you, embrace your true self, and express and share love with everyone.

Be Well,

Q: Can cataracts be cured? How?

- Atena Negrescu, Romania

A: In early-stage cataracts, via the use of freshly squeezed wheatgrass juice applied to the eyes 3x per day, there has been a trilogy of people who reported that this film resolved. In advanced cases, find competent, well-informed doctors who can perform modern surgeries, which have proven to be much more effective and beneficial than the commonly used methods. - Brian Clement

Q: How detrimental to our health can household molds be and are there simple ways to determine if we have any issues and/or avoid them? - Amy O’Brien, Toronto

A: Here at Hippocrates Wellness, we are offering a genetics test to reveal mold that may be in your system. Some people do not have the genetics to prevent the multitude of hazards that come from inhaling and absorbing this life form. Everything from brain fog to tumor growth to lack of inspiration has been linked to this newly discovered MOLD DISORDER. Anna Maria Clement

Q: Broad beans, green beans, string beans, haricots verts, peas, and sugar snaps: all legumes contain lectin. I read that this substance is toxic to the human body. It can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhea. So, it does not seem safe to eat raw legumes; instead, heat these beans so that lectin is broken down. Since you cannot sprout these beans as you can do with lentils and chickpeas, how are these integrated into a raw vegan diet? - Kathleen De Cuyper, Belgium

A: Lectins are naturally occurring pesticides that came about through the evolution of plants so that botanical gifts would never perish by bugs or animals consuming too much. Lectins are also part of an illustrious family called phytochemicals that convert these plant medicines into antidisease fighters. As well intended as Dr. Gundry is with his Lectin scares, our 70 years of experience with hundreds of thousands have shown that raw plant food contains an extensive array of other elements and nutrients that neutralize any negative effect of any minuscule amount of anti-disease-causing lectins.

Anna Maria Clement

Q: What’s the number one thing I can do to help prevent dementia? - Claire Naughton, Aberdeen, Scotland

A: Adequate sleep is by far the number one way to prevent dementia. This sleep must be deep and place you in a REM state. Eliminating sugar of any type. Avoid chemicals, heavy metals, etc., by consuming organic plant-based foods, wearing natural organic clothing, and using only organic cleaners and products in your home and workplace. Here on our campus, we have an anti-dementia/Alzheimer's program to assist those who are well into the process of memory loss. - Brian Clement Email us your questions! HOW@hippocratesinst.org

Q: Is it beneficial to drink sun-charged water (water kept under direct sunlight for hours and then consumed)? If so, what are the health benefits, and how much sun-charged water should we drink? - Jennifer Everley, Florida

A: Sun-charged water in glass containers has an increase in frequency (energy). This photonic photon manifestation enhances the energy field in and around all cells (immune, red, stem). This is why the body is able to create vitamins from the sun through your largest organ, the skin. Ultimately, all nutrients have different energy fields that manifest in a matterbased form. - Brian Clement

Q: I’ve heard that minimizing calorie intake is linked to longevity. Does that mean I should be fasting? - Yusef Kaya, Turkey

A: Low caloric intake and intermittent fasting are not new ideas but have been researched for generations. Evidence is clear that those who eat the most nutritious foods in the smallest amount and spend extensive time between meals have less disease and live longer. The key to your answer is highly nutritious foods like the Hippocrates diet and lifestyle. After more than half a century, I fast two days per week and generally only eat one meal per day, but I consume large amounts of fresh sprouts/green vegetable juice and take nearly forty organic raw plant-based supplements six days per week. - Brian Clement

Q: Is there any protocol or food for Endometriosis?

- Ely Davila, Mexico

A: Vaginal implants with fresh wheatgrass, maintaining a pure green, mostly raw plant-based diet, and counseling with a well-seasoned bioidentical hormone doctor have proven to be the most effective ways to manage and reverse this malady.

Anna Maria Clement

Q: Are there any of the living plant foods that should be avoided when one has received a diagnosis of Hemochromatosis - a disorder in which too much iron is stored, leading to organ damage? - Max Tuck, London, UK

A: The plethora of healthy low to moderate iron-rich plant foods affords you a banquet to choose from. Avoid highiron plants, such as spinach. In addition, proper plant-based B12 helps to curve the effects of your ever-thickening blood.

Brian Clement

Q: Does adding Chlorophyll to drinking water improve my immunity? - Jamie Rissman, USA

A: Unless you have fresh raw chlorophyll that you extract directly from plants, do not expect it to work. Highly cooked and processed forms and bottles have been neutered, so they offer little to no health benefits. - Anna Maria Clement

Whispers of Wellness: The Dance of Humanity, Nature, and Health

Illness and wellness do not occur in a purely mechanistic random vacuum, but rather are deeply woven within the rich tapestry of our humanity. Our very nervous system is awash with the ocean of our thoughts, emotions, relationships, environments, and the narratives we carry. Both large and small psychological, emotional, or environmental disturbances ripple through our system, changing our wiring and sometimes wreaking havoc.

Living in a war zone, being the object of racism, growing up in an alcoholic household, feeling pressure to be perfect, experiencing betrayal, poverty, abuse, addiction, family tragedy, loss, separation, heartbreak—all these things take us down. The drama and trauma from these disturbances, etched into our physical form, lead to a cascade of physiological responses highlighted by chronic inflammation and weakened immune function, which, in turn, cascade into a whole spectrum of disorders.

Emotional and psychological burdens thus manifest physically, sometimes slowly over time, sometimes abruptly. We call it “stress,” but sometimes it runs deep. When we carry unresolved trauma, even unconsciously, our bodies fixate into a state of constant vigilance, a heightened state of inner overdrive that works well for short-term emergencies and can even help us be “successful” but is not sustainable and ends up draining and damaging us in the long run.

We know we’ve gone too far when we can’t shut our brains off, our sleep cycles go awry, we feel isolated in our relationships, and we simply stop taking care of ourselves at even the most basic levels. When we lose our peace, we lose ourselves, and inner turbulence prevails.

To make things worse, modern society has led us increasingly away from our natural roots. We live in environments vastly different from those our ancestors evolved in, often surrounded by artificial stimuli and disconnected from the rhythms of nature. Our original human blueprint as part of nature gets blurred, blotched, and battered into a mass of contortionism as we adapt to inhumane demands, anti-life rules, unrealistic expectations, and warped environments. Life, after all, is real and not virtual.

We are made for love and contact, without which we suffer. A light-hungry plant placed in a dark closet will contort itself to reach the sliver of sunlight streaming in from the bottom of the door. In the same way, we humans will contort our true, open, feeling nature to get the love and connection we need from our environment. When our environment is unfeeling and unreal, our strategies for meeting our needs also get skewed. We do whatever it takes and accept a life of struggle because, as children, our very survival depends on it.

Separated from our true nature, we adapt to untenable imperatives, even to the point of becoming inhumane. We go to war and justify killing. We justify hunger and poverty and feed greed. We lose sight of our connection to nature and pave and pollute the earth. We deny the reality of unity and togetherness and live as if separateness and ego rule creation. When we lose our spirit and our humanity, sickness rises to the top. We end up sick in a sick world.

The goal is to liberate ourselves from these internalized burdens because when we do, we release a profound reservoir of energy to fuel the body’s intrinsic capability to heal. It’s why the psychological and emotional support services we provide at Hippocrates Wellness are central to getting well. It’s not just about what you eat; it’s about getting to what’s eating you. Therefore, the pathway back to our health and to regaining our humanity lies in a return to nature, not necessarily abandoning modern life but rather integrating and embracing natural elements into our daily

routines. Spending time outdoors, gardening, exercising, consuming whole foods, reducing exposure to artificial light and pollutants, engaging in close, meaningful, and loving relationships all have profound positive effects on our health. Nature has a way of grounding us, of reminding us of our place in the world, and of providing the elements necessary for our wellbeing. Let Nature super-nutrify and nurture you! Connect with Mother, and let her love you!

And what about our inner nature? What's our role as people in the grand scheme of things? It's simple, really: we are who we were before we had or knew our name— pure, simple, and needing love. Nobody outgrows the basic human needs. I say, "Let's get on with loving each other!" Spreading the love is by far the best part of our return to nature, if you ask me.

Connecting with each other and rebuilding our communities and relationships on a foundation of naturebased living can help us collectively skyrocket back to health. Being wholesome stewards of nature together can serve as a common ground where people come together in universally beneficial ways, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support.

With these purposeful social connections, we not only help each other do well, we simultaneously enhance our emotional wellbeing, and have purposeful fun. Spreading the love in practical ways, we further our capacity for health and healing. If this sounds like Woodstock 1969, so be it! We are stardust!

In summary (and I know I’m preaching to the choir and stating the obvious), illness and wellness are not isolated phenomena but are deeply connected to our humanity. By unraveling ourselves from the drama and trauma within us, we free up energy for our bodies to heal naturally. Our drift away from nature has been a significant factor in the rise of chronic illnesses, and the path back to health involves a return to radical love and reintegrating natural elements into our lives. This return to nature is not just about physical wellbeing but also about fostering emotional health and rebuilding the communal bonds that sustain us. Through this holistic approach, we can create a foundation for true wellness and finally heal our world. Want to experience what all that feels like? Come to Hippocrates!

Andy has served as a mind/body psychotherapist at Hippocrates Wellness since December of 1990, using and teaching radical feeling-centered, bodyfocused awareness tools to help Hippocrates' guests discover the essence of their problems and arrive at solutions. He facilitates the ongoing Healing Circle therapy and support group on campus and created S.H.I.F.T (State of the Heart Integrative Feeling Therapy), simultaneously centering on body awareness, here-and-now encounters, cognitive coherence, and emotional charge.

JODY WINTER

RELEARNING HEALING: OVERCOMING BREAST CANCER & RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

As a little girl at five, I was introduced to modern medicine, as most children in America in my generation were. We went to our Doctor, who gave me a little 45inch record that sounded like a fun book of how Mr. Tonsils was going to go on a little carriage inside a big white clean hospital to be removed and how, at the end of that, I would actually be fed ice cream. There I was on this voyage, looking up at the white light and the loud sounds, and when I came out of anesthesia, they handed me the ice cream, which I couldn’t swallow because my throat felt so bad.

I got older and older, and I always had that memory embedded, but now the world was on the cusp of a brand new millennium; what joy and excitement there was in the air. When I was 25, I also had to have a hysterectomy since I constantly had giant cysts. My husband, Jim, and I always aspired to be parents, so, one by one, we adopted nine and lived in such a loving way that it was exciting to bring the young people into an era of hope. At the same moment, my mother was ill and living in Colorado, so we sought out the top oncologist at the University of Colorado.

What an enlightened conversation it was, and surprising, to be honest. He said, "We do not have a cure for cancer; it's all lifestyle-related.

As the days drew closer to her demise, I would spend more and more time at the hospital. It got to a point where my mother could no longer speak, and I asked her attending physician, one of the most renowned in the country, what else could be done and, by the way, if there was really a cure for cancer. What an enlightened

conversation it was, and surprising, to be honest. He said, "We do not have a cure for cancer; it's all lifestylerelated. Your mom was offered to be in a lifestyle study that we are doing here on a plant-based diet, and she refused since she said that your dad loved to take her out on Friday night for crab legs. Can she do crab legs and vegetables?" Of course, my answer was no.

I

remember the day I went in, collected a stack of books that almost went to the ceiling, laid back with my feet up, and began to read and research. What can I do?

How can I do it?

The doctor stated it saddened him since my jovial mother was somebody he became fond of and wished her decision had been different. We laid my mother to rest shortly after. The shock and trauma, and all of the sadness that came with that, resulted in a tumor in my breast. Thirty days after she was laid to the ground, I was sitting in a doctor's office, and she announced that I had very aggressive breast cancer and had to be treated immediately. I was 42 years old. My husband, Jim, with tears in his eyes, and I walked out, and I said, "Do you remember what the doctor told us before mom passed about the plant-based diet"? And he said, "Yes."

Although I let them carry out a lumpectomy to remove the affected nodules, I knew I would not participate in the aggressive treatments that they suggested since, statistically, the results were horrific. If you look at the data, the real data, most people would think twice before pursuing that path. My one refuge away from my loving family, who I wanted to be with, almost always

was the bookstore. I remember the day I went in, collected a stack of books that almost went to the ceiling, laid back with my feet up, and began to read and research. What can I do? How can I do it?

In the back, one particular book strongly advised that you attend Hippocrates Health Institute. We called up 23 years ago and made a booking. When I arrived, it was a whole new world, and I felt like a pioneer, but I realized hundreds of thousands of others had walked this path before and forged success. I was ready and willing to do the same, so I made it happen. I returned to Colorado, remaining loyal to myself and a clean diet, and was pronounced completely healed.

As time passed, I began to sleep, thinking, Oh, I heard salmon is good. Let me just take a bite. Next, I had a friend, not so long ago, who said, "Let's lose some weight and proceed to pursue a high animal food diet." Because I had bloomed up to 200 pounds, I made that wacky choice; I lost a little bit of weight but gained rheumatoid arthritis. We then moved to the Carolinas, and my husband was not doing well and began to gain extra unwanted pounds, so, once and for all, I said, "I'm going back to the place where I reversed cancer, for him and me."

What I can say to anyone serious about health and longevity is that there is a proven path to recovery and a long life. If you go back to the origins of what we were told on the first page of the Bible, in Genesis, it is very clear that meat should be the fruit from the trees, and medicine should be the plants of the Earth. Get on the plants of the Earth, and you will become a walking, talking, living example of what nature, the universe, and God expect you to be.

I am now at 140 pounds; my husband is becoming healthy, and, once and for all, I will remain loyal to nature's laws that govern true wellbeing.

FROM PARALYSIS TO POWERFUL: COMBATING FIBROMYALGIA

I was born in Poland and was lucky to migrate to the United States. There was beauty, abundance, and endless possibilities, but shortly after I arrived, my head started to pound, and they grew into daily beasts. This often paralyzed me and took me out of my role as a mother, wife, grandmother, and employee.

I would have to close the windows and be in the dark, and everyone around me would have to tiptoe. About a decade ago, my body started to suffer from ongoing pain. I went from physician to physician, and it took five years until they labeled it as Fibromyalgia.

This combination of head and body pain often had me in bed for three days at a time.

Many years ago, my best friend was suffering from advanced cancer, and I learned all about Hippocrates Wellness in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Still, she never made a definite decision to come, and sadly, she’s no longer here with us today.

My condition got so bad that I told my husband a year ago that I must come and spend three weeks at Hippocrates on the Life Transformation Program. We had to wait until there was an opening, and in January, I arrived. The first week was very challenging, but I noticed that my body pains lessened a bit. I only had one headache and a runny nose for one day.

A great part of the experience was meeting the guests at meals. Many had been here before and recovered from a wide array of disorders. Although the classes were informative and guiding, it was the guests that encouraged me the most to believe that I could keep going. I had no headaches the second week, and in the third, I was flying.

I can’t believe it, but I have no longer had pain for a year, no headaches at all, and I spend days exercising and enjoying my grandchildren, husband, and family. When I first arrived at Hippocrates Wellness, the doctors told me I was at high risk of a heart attack and stroke and that my type two diabetes was flaring.

Thankfully, I left all of this behind. Now, at 57, I can say I have never been healthier in my life. The exercise physiologist on campus trained me, as he was able to do so during my last visit, and this time, I reached a totally different level. All I could say was that this had been miraculous for me, and I could speak about the dozens of other people I had met at the wellness center.

Now, at 57, I can say I have never been healthier in my life.

They reversed everything from catastrophic disease to sleep disorders, from COPD to arthritis. It is almost like being in Lourdes, France, but, unlike Lourdes, it is not only faith; it is practical tools that have worked on hundreds of thousands of people since the middle of the 20th century.

Thank you so much Hippocrates for giving me my life back.

MICHAEL NOVATKA

MY JOURNEY FROM HELL TO HEALING ESOPHAGEAL CANCER

At 14, I learned the term 'sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll,' and I immediately jumped in with both feet. That crazy voyage lasted until I was 55. In spite of the fact that I was constantly high, I became the father of six and rolled over an endless amount of people to become economically successful. However, I never knew myself, nor did I understand the trauma that I was creating in my own life and that of my family and others.

In 2017, something came over me; I had attempted to become clean several times in the past, and each and every decade, 20, 30, 40, and 50, the attempts failed.

Somehow, this time, it stuck. I came out of the darkness, and for a brief time, trauma left me. I began to feel my heart, and I was sure it was a heart attack or some kind of cardio problem. With all the drinking, smoking, and drugs that I had done, it didn't surprise me.

In 2020, they carried out a colonoscopy and said I had precancerous cells but not to worry. The problem continued. I was tested once again, and they found in my lymph nodes stage three cancer that led them to find it in my esophagus. Once this happened, I was conscious enough to realize I wanted to make natural choices, but at the same point, I was scared, so I went down to the "big guns," as they called them, at MD Anderson in Houston.

I spent one and a half months there being zapped with

chemotherapy and radiation. They kept saying that this was serious and that my entire process of treatment must continue. My wife, Sylvia, continued on and finally decided that we should attend Hippocrates 'Immune Program,' as I didn't quite have the time at that moment to go through the 4-week "Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program" because MD Anderson was calling me back for further treatment.

For three weeks, my entire world was flipped; I had to give up coffee and spent an hour each and every day in a hot box called an infrared sauna. I ate nutrient-dense food, which I did not even identify most of the time, and was out of my element, but at the same point, I found my tribe. Part of my healing from addiction was finding God within my heart and soul, and somehow, Hippocrates Wellness resonated with that beautifully.

While attending back in 2023, not long ago, I asked the director, Brian Clement, what else he would do if money were not a concern. He talked about a recently approved treatment by the FDA called "Verthermia," which had the best result in any studies on advanced cancers in history. He explained how it worked, how they took blood out, heated it at 107.4, and returned it into the bloodstream. I got the number of the lead doctor, who said, "We will not proceed until you have a test." When I returned to Anderson to get that test, the man was surprised, as well as the doctors; my cancer was completely gone and had reverted to calcium deposits. This was not expected but welcomed. I had already planned to return for two more weeks to Hippocrates and continue with the "Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program," which takes you to another level of responsibility and understanding that you, and you alone, along with God's help, can heal yourself.

I took every supplement suggested by the doctor at Hippocrates, including "Haelan," which is most likely the best-researched supplement for this disease in the history of the United States. As I speak to you, I am still working on this fermented soy product.

What a joy it is to have a life of pain and suffering, decade after decade, and then find within 2 Months a way to reverse a fatal disease.

To me, this is proof that when you get on the right track, have God in your heart and soul, and live this way every day, anything is possible.

My message to anyone who is suffering from any disorder is to come to Hippocrates Wellness. For 70 years, this group of dedicated, loving people has been able to guide and help hundreds of thousands back to themselves to the way it should be, so that balance and healing occurs.

Jennifer Brower Silent Killers

I first went to Hippocrates after having COVID for the second time in 2022. I had already started writing my book, which was then titled - To Lyme, Mold and Back. After experiencing the negative effects of COVID that compromised my immune system, along with severe brain fog and extreme joint and nerve pain, I knew I needed to add Coronavirus to my list of interconnected disorders.

I had experienced some of the symptoms with Lyme disease and mold toxicity, yet they were even more excruciating when coupled with COVID.

I didn't have the energy to visit ten different places to get all the treatments and nutrition that I needed at the time. I had researched Hippocrates Wellness years prior, and the second battle with COVID caused me to finally sign up. Honestly, until being there, I didn't understand that what was taught and administered was for the betterment of the entire immune function.

Once I checked in, a whole new world opened before my eyes. First, the moment I walked on campus, I felt a strong sense of serenity. Almost immediately, I started witnessing the healing of clients on an entirely new level. I'm not exaggerating. I saw people go from wheelchairs and not communicating to walking and talking in 21 days!

I came to understand the power of nutrition, and it has changed my life forever. Hippocrates

Wellness provided me with the education, treatment, and nutrition I needed to get better and back into action. I am a devoted sprout girl to this day.

I spoke to Brian and Anna Maria about my book and decided to add COVID, not only because of the increased pain and anguish it caused me but because I was learning of its damaging effects on so many people's immune systems.

While visiting with Brian, we also decided that a more appropriate title was Silent Killers because Lyme disease, mold toxicity, mercury poisoning, and COVID all sneak up on their victims. If your immune system isn't in fighting mode, any of these silent killers can ruin your life.

I love to learn, so attending all the lectures was an important component of my healing. Being on campus removes me from my everyday stressors. It allows my mind, body, and spirit to be renewed and focus on healing. It allows me to share my experiences with others and inspires me to be well and share my story.

A New Conception of Cancer

Beginning in the mid-twentieth century, we at Hippocrates Wellness started to see a dangerous and mortal trend that was occurring in the care and treatment of cancer.

Now, nearly three-quarters of a century later, finally, there is some light coming from mainstream science, which rarely, but at times, speaks clearly, and this article, published in New Scientist, spotlights exactly how horrific cancer treatment is.

The brave scientific researchers exposing this catastrophe must be honored for their courage. As they state, after cancer leaves a very confined area and starts the process of metastasis it is not “curable.” They also correctly stated that the treatment of nuclear medicine, “radiation, chemotherapy,” never completely eradicate the cells, and inevitably, it returns.

These observations have been confirmed by the hundreds of thousands of people we have worked with. Over the past seven decades, we have had the privilege of helping people who are distressed by both their disease and its treatment.

Anna Maria & Brian Clement

CANCER IS A DISEASE, or group of diseases, in which some cells proliferate uncontrollably and can spread to other parts of the body. But that description doesn't reflect how our conception of cancer has changed, says Kenneth Pienta at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. "People used to view cancer as sort of bad luck: the cancer would just change over time, and we didn't really understand why, or how, or what was driving those changes."

In the past few years, however, Pienta and others have come to see cancers as akin to organisms themselves, existing in complex ecosystems alongside other cancer cells and host immune cells. Cancer cells compete for access to nutrients, and only the fittest survive. "Cancer evolves in response to changes in its environment," says Pienta. "If it didn't, it would die."

Ultimately, this is why cancer kills so many people. Cancer cells divide rapidly, so random mutations occur often, and any that confer an advantage are quickly selected. "They're evolving to become the best cancer cell they can become, and that typically is bad news for the patient," says Robert Gatenby, co-director of the Cancer Biology and Evolution Program at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.

"What's more, the hardiest cells are better at getting into the bloodstream and spreading to other parts of the body, a process known as metastasis.

The good news is that viewing cancer through an evolutionary lens suggests new ways to treat it," says Gatenby. Among them is the idea that, rather than trying to wipe out cancer cells, we should manage the disease almost as if it were a chronic condition like diabetes.

Conventional treatments like chemotherapy or radiotherapy will always leave behind a small population of resistant cells. With their competition wiped out, they quickly proliferate - and the cancer becomes much harder to treat. However, Gatenby's lab is experimenting with ways to keep some treatment-responsive cells alive so that they compete with the resistant cells. "We only give a little bit of the treatment and then stop," says Gatenby. "The tumor will come back, but because you're not applying any selection for resistance, the sensitive cells will dominate."

Another strategy could be to target cancer's ability to adapt. Pienta's team has discovered that when people are given chemotherapy, a tiny subset of cancer cells stops dividing and enters a state of hibernation. These polyaneuploid cancer cells can hide from chemo drugs. Pienta believes that by destroying them, we could collapse the whole cancer ecosystem. Unfortunately, nuclear medicine also destroys immunity.

It may even be possible to stop cancers before they have a chance to evolve. Charles Swanton at the Francis Crick Institute in London has found that when people experience chronic inflammation as a result of exposure to air pollution, tobacco smoke, or alcohol, immune cells can kick-start cancer development. This opens yet another avenue of treatment: target the immune cells that cause cancers to grow in the first place. "The normal ecosystem is not subjected to the sort of genome instability that cancers are, so the targets are much more stable and potentially more tractable," says Swanton.

Ultimately, scientists believe that their new conception of cancer may allow us to cure it. "Our big advantage is that cancer cells can only adapt to the here and now," says Gatenby. "They can never anticipate the future, but humans can."

Jasmin

"We have got good drugs and initial therapies for most types of cancers," says Gatenby. "But in the metastatic setting, you're almost never cured."

Healthy Bacteria Saves Lives and Increases Fertility

On a rare, early May sunny day at a conference presented by Signe Altmayer, associate professor at the University of Granada and PhD –research at Karolinska University and Estonia, we explored the world of bacteria and its effect on human health and fertility.

At Karolinska, a renowned medical research center, the rooms were packed with eager students and professionals who wanted to learn about the cutting-edge information revolutionizing the future of healthcare, prevention, and reversal.

Although we have expressed the importance of healthy gut flora/fauna at Hippocrates Wellness for seven decades, mainstream medicine is only just coming to this realization. In the United States, the National Institute of Health published the most significant study to date that had ever been conducted on bacteria that reign throughout the body. 2007 gave birth to a new interest that has now bloomed into a field of endeavor. The next report of major significance was from the Fertility Journal in 2015, where they reported that there was a direct link between healthy vaginal bacteria and conception, and that the microbes were involved in all processes within the body.

We recognize that we have approximately one hundred trillion cells in the body, but actually, ten times more bacteria go from head to toe. We also recognize how incredibly important bacteria is in remaining well and even reversing disorders. When they have spontaneously tested the healthy bacteria within centenarians, it tends to be balanced and abundant.

Now, looking at the vaginal bacteria and the pH of 3.8 in your cervix may be as important in pregnancy as anything that has been explored previously. A man’s sperm count of approximately 7.8 pH reigns when a man is well and healthy. There is about a 30% differential in the bacteria in sperm as there is in other areas of the anatomy. We recognize that many of the modern-day practices that we embrace as “normal,” like menstruation, are not so. Females, until they reach menopause, with their monthly cycles, actually have a war going on within them. I know personally when I went from a cooked plant-based diet to a raw plantbased diet, I went from seven days of menstruating to half a day with hardly any distinguishable blood flow.

We now understand that the body of females tends to use this monthly cycle to purge toxins, poisons, and debris from an unhealthy lifestyle.

We are not naturally designed to endure such a process. Changing one’s pH to a more balanced level will basically help to alleviate many of the painful symptoms that are linked to menstruating so that every single month, our body does not have to endure recovering from this unnatural practice. With this newfound knowledge, we can now endeavor to help young couples to impregnate. All the fertility clinics in the world, with their magic bullets and hormones, have a high failure rate and will not achieve the same as if we get the human body, biochemistry, and cellular function into homeostasis.

From the clinical work we have carried out for the last 70 years, we understand that the use of diet and natural noninvasive therapies—as well as

plant-based supplementation that contains high levels of nutrients—herbs/plant medicine is the most expeditious and effective way to help alleviate the burden carried by approximately one-third of married couples who struggle to have children.

It is all about lactobacillus, and seemingly, the more the woman has vaginally and within the uterus, the greater potential there is to have a balanced body and to accept a new life. It is remarkably important to now include in the conversation of wellbeing the latest data on the effect that healthy microbes have in the body. There is a lot of misinformation about a recent study in Rome by Jamie Hackett and his colleagues, who explored the microbiome, which changes after the use of antibiotics per animal-based studies that were conducted. They found significantly shocking results when the offspring of the reduced healthy bacteria resulted in lower birth rates. Even more profound was that a twenty-two times increase is two to five times more likely to have a stunted growth rate by two weeks old, and various other health issues.

The difference between the Microbiome and the Microbiota is quite unique. The microbiome is the genome. The DNA level of microbes and microbial are DNA microbes in our bodies. A recent study with the European Gene Bank, containing over 100,000 genetic swabs, shows we are well on our way to refining future biology to assist the naturally occurring process of body balance, allowing the body to maintain strength, youth, and health. The new gateway into understanding the body is genetics. Still, genetics combined with microbial understanding will be the future of medicine that, I predict, will eradicate many of the disorders that have plagued the human race for generations.

By the time you read this, Hippocrates Wellness has opened a Hippocrates genetics lab on our campus. We are tapped into the global network, and soon, we will be offering genetic testing to further individualize lifestyle protocols and treatment plans. This will significantly improve all of the methods that have been previously used in allopathic medicine and here at Hippocrates.

What do you do when you feel that the whole world is turning against you?

A Psychological and a Spiritual Perspective.

From time to time, some of our guests report to us that they have a feeling that the whole world is turning against them. They explain that they have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, that their only significant relationship ended, the finances they were relying on are dwindling, that they feel abandoned by the whole world, their past traumatic experiences are torturing them lately, and that they do not find any meaning in continuing this life.

How do you deal with such challenges when they appear to you?

A psychological and spiritual perspective on this condition can help us deal with such challenges.

From a psychological perspective, these feelings can come from various sources, including cognitive distortions, stress, trauma, depression, and other mental health issues. Spiritually, this experience can be considered as the “Dark night of the soul” or an invitation for a profound period of growth and transformation.

Is it one of the cognitive distortions?

The feeling that the whole world is turning against you is a cognitive distortion, and if it is not corrected, it can lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Some people, unfortunately, are victims of “catastrophizing,” expecting the worst possible outcome in any situation in their life; some others “personalize” every negative event in life by interpreting that everyone out there is trying to “get me” or by “overgeneralizing” and making negative conclusions about one’s experience from a single event or a piece of evidence.

“Being on the edge”

Some other people feel alienated by prolonged experiences of stress and trauma. This may result in “being on the edge,” expecting the worst all the time in life. A few who have experienced childhood trauma and did not have a chance to deal with it on their own

or with professional help tend to lose trust in others, and as a result, they feel isolated. Some other victims of trauma feel helpless and experience depressive feelings. By working on one’s mental health, one can turn around the feeling “the whole world is against me” to “I have the whole world to work for me.” Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, building a support network, meditation practices of self-awareness, and the like can help change the pessimistic view and turn them into opportunities for positive things.

What we call reality depends on how we measure our experience: the Quantum approach.

One may apply the insight related to Quantum Physics, namely, that what we call reality depends on how we observe or measure it. If one assumes “the whole world is turning against me,” that becomes a reality for the person, and they become a victim of it. On the contrary, if one believes, “I am creating the reality of my experience and that I can choose to make it a positive experience,” the whole world could be a friendly world. Acknowledging the negative feeling as distortive and then reinterpreting it as an opportunity for change can usher in a new experience of the world itself.

“Dark Night of the Soul”

“Dark Night of the Soul” is a classic poem written by St. John of the Cross, a Christian Mystic of the 16th Century, which explains the experience that the whole world is turning against me, as a period of spiritual desolation, where an individual feels abandoned by everyone, including God whom he solely trusts! However, this period is understood as a necessary phase of spiritual growth and transformation. In Buddhism, this experience is described as “falling into the pit of the void.” One can interpret this experience as an opportunity to get close to the divine experience.

Life is a journey, a stream, do not be stuck in the bank of pain nor in the bank of pleasure.

Gautama Budha asks us to embrace life as a journey, like a stream, moving forward without sticking to the bank of pain or the bank of pleasure. The key to this approach is to take life as it comes to you without judging it to be good or bad. Once we develop a “bonus mindset” by understanding that the life is a bonus, and the experiences are privileges, one may find it possible to change the negativity of one’s experience by living in the moment, and by considering every moment as a gift. Spiritual practices like meditation and prayer, or mindfulness, and service to the community can help one to overcome the negativity of the depressive feelings.

Out of Sight, ‘Dark Fungi’ Run the World from the Shadows

The land, water, and air around us are chock-full of DNA from fungi that scientists can’t identify. When then-graduate student Anna Rosling went to northern Sweden to map the distribution of a particular root-loving fungus, she found something much more intriguing: Many of her root samples contained traces of DNA from unknown species. Weirder still, she never encountered a complete organism. When the field season ended, she had only isolated bits of raw genetic material. The fragments clearly belonged to the fungal kingdom but revealed little else. “I got obsessed,” recalls Rosling, now a professor of evolutionary biology at Uppsala University in Sweden. Since then, mycologists have realized that such phantoms are everywhere. Point to a patch of dirt, a body of water, even the air you’re breathing, and odds are that it is teeming with mushrooms, molds, and yeasts (or their spores) that no one has ever seen.

Colon Cancer Linked to Mouth Bacteria

A healthy colon is a marvelously effective organ that squeezes nutrients and water from food while pumping out waste. But sometimes, small clumps of abnormal cells grow on the colon’s lining and become cancerous. Colon cancer is relatively common but tricky to catch; it can only be confirmed with a colonoscopy or surgery. And a recent, so-far-unexplained rise in colon cancer rates among younger people has ramped up the urgency in learning more about how the disease works—and how to prevent it. Pinning down colon cancer’s genetic or environmental causes has been a complex and long-running quest, but a new study in nature points to a promising clue: a bacterium typically found in the human mouth. The study found that a specific subtype, or clade, within a subspecies of Fusobacterium Nucleatum, was linked to colon cancer growth and progression. The study authors say these results could lead to better noninvasive diagnostic methods for colon cancer and suggest new therapies targeting these bacteria for tumor elimination.

The New Science

Why Some Songs Make Everyone Want to Dance

A syncopated rhythm may prompt our brain to find the beat. Experts have gained deeper insight into why people spontaneously dance to music. New research suggests the impulse to bop to the beat—what some scientists call the “groove experience”—depends on the music’s degree of syncopation, which affects how predictable the rhythm is. The work reveals “why we cannot resist moving in sync with the beat when we listen to music with an optimal level of syncopation,” says Benoît Bardy, a movement-science researcher at the University of Montpellier in France. Bardy, who was not involved in the new study, describes it as “a very innovative piece of science.” Syncopations are rhythmic patterns in which accented or unaccented beats in a melody appear in surprising places relative to the standard beat. The more syncopation a piece of music contains, the less accurately you can guess the rhythm of the next few bars as you listen.

How Much Do Our Thoughts Shape Our Health?

The way we think about time, aging, and sickness may influence our health, behavior, and general wellbeing in surprising ways. Time heals all wounds, as the saying goes. However, any medical professional can tell you that the hours required for recovery after an injury can vary widely. A person’s age, lifestyle, and level of social support, for example, are all known influences on how quickly their body heals. Their thoughts can play a remarkably powerful role as well. In a recent experiment, we tested whether expectations about the time it takes to heal can affect how long it actually takes to recover. We found that people’s perception of the passage of time influenced how quickly their wounds healed. The work is just the latest in a larger collection of evidence— documented in a new book written by one of us (Langer), The Mindful Body—that underscores the unity of mind and body, an idea with profound implications for health and wellbeing.

The Best

Strategy for Learning May Depend on What You’re Trying to Remember

Different approaches can support varied forms of memory. Repetition is a key element of learning. If you want to remember something, come back to it again and again. But when and how you revisit information matters. Decades of research have shown that people recall information better in the long term when they return to that material over time, rather than trying to rapidly memorize everything in a back-to-back manner. This is the “spacing effect,” one of the most robust and replicated findings in memory research. Most prior studies on the spacing effect have focused on learning which involves repeating the exact same content over and over. Yet, outside of studying for an exam, the environments and situations in which we learn new things are generally much less controlled. Imagine you meet a new co-worker. The next time you encounter each other could be in another location or with a group of people or the new co-worker might have a different haircut. How does such variability impact the benefits to memory associated with the spacing effect? In two experiments recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, we examined how the spacing effect benefits memory when the repeated material contains a realworld mix of stable and variable features. We found that this kind of variation can make a difference in what you learn and how well you learn it. And although spacing is still a great strategy for certain kinds of knowledge, other tactics can also improve your ability to remember information. In both experiments, we assessed how well people could remember pairs of visual images: an item, such as a cartoon character, animal or tool, and a scene, such as a famous location or photograph of a room. For example, participants might see a green, mustachioed man side by side with a photograph of the Eiffel Tower or an image of a hammer together with a kitchen. Our participants observed more than 40 such pairings during what we called “learning sessions.”

Is Long Overdue, but Many Dangerous Ingredients Remain

The Food and Drug Administration is scheduled to release a proposal to ban formaldehyde in hair-straightening products a decade after it was classified as a carcinogen. In April, a dozen years after a federal agency classified formaldehyde as a human carcinogen, the FDA is tentatively scheduled to unveil a proposal to consider banning the chemical in hair-straightening products. The move comes at a time of rising alarm among researchers over the health effects of hair straighteners, products widely used by and heavily marketed to Black women. However, advocates and scientists say the proposed regulation would do far too little, in addition to being far too late. “The fact that formaldehyde is still allowed in hair care products is mind-blowing to me,” said Linda Birnbaum, a former director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the National Toxicology Program. “I don’t know what we’re waiting for.” Asked why it’s taking so long to get the issue on the FDA’s agenda, Namandjé Bumpus, the regulatory agency’s chief scientist, told KFF Health News: “I think primarily the science has progressed. “Also,” she added, “the agency is always balancing multiple priorities. It is a priority for us now.”

Treat. New Drug-Free Approaches May Help

Research on the developing brain points to new ways to help young people with anxiety disorders. Adolescence is a remarkable period of development and learning, a time when youths explore and adapt to changes in their social worlds and begin to form a sense of who they are and hope to be. It is a time when they first demonstrate a dramatic adaptability to the unique cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and sexual demands placed on them as they transition from dependence on their parents or caregivers to relative independence. It is also, unfortunately, a time when the emergence of most mental health problems peaks. The most common mental health concerns facing adolescents today are anxiety disorders, and their prevalence has been increasing for the past decade. Current research benefits from rapidly advancing imaging technologies that can reveal patterns of neural activity and exciting potential avenues for intervention. By focusing on the developing brain and the behaviors it generates early on in life, we may be better able to alter anxiety-related memories, identify cues and situations that help to reduce symptoms, and mitigate the adverse effects of anxiety for young people before they become a more chronic affliction in adulthood.

How much plastic w ill yo u hav e for dinner?

There is a staggering number of plastics in the world today, according to a recent analysis – 16,000 plastic chemicals, with at least 4,200 of those considered to be “highly hazardous” to human health and the environment. As these chemicals break down in the environment, they can turn into microplastics, and then nanoplastics, particles so small science has struggled for decades to see them. A recent study that utilizes brand-new technology found the number of nanoplastics in three popular brands of water sold in the United States to be between 110,000 and 370.000 per liter, if not higher. A liter is the equivalent of about two 16 oz bottled waters.

Prior research using older technology had identified only about 300 nanoplastics in bottled water and bigger microplastics. The contamination levels found in bottled water reinforce long-held expert advice to drink water from glass or stainless-steel containers to reduce exposure. That advice extends to other foods and drinks packaged in plastics as well. People don’t think of plastics as shedding, but they do in almost the same way we’re constantly shedding skin cells; plastics constantly shed little bits that break off, such as when you open that plastic container for your store-bought salad or cheese wrapped in plastic.

90% of animal and vegetable protein samples tested positive for microplastics—polymer fragments that can range from less than 0.2 inches (5MM) down to 1/25,000th of an inch (1 micrometer), according to a February 2024 study. Anything smaller than one micrometer is a nanoplastic that must be measured in billionths of a meter. Even vegetarians can't escape, according to a 2021 study. If plastic is small enough, fruits and vegetables can absorb microplastics through their root systems and transfer those chemical particles to the plant's stems, leaves, seeds, fruits, etc.

Salt can be packed with plastic. A 2023 study found coarse Himalayan pink salt mined from the ground contained the most microplastics, followed by black salt and marine salt. Sugar is also an “important root of human exposure to these micropollutants,” according to a 2022 study. Even teabags, many of which are made of plastic, can release enormous amounts of plastic. Researchers in Quebec, Canada, found brewing a single plastic teabag released about 11.6 billion microplastic and 3.1 billion nanoplastic particles into the water.

Microplastics have been found in the human lung, maternal and placental tissues, human breast milk, and even human blood.

Rice is also a culprit per a University of Queensland study, which discovered that for every 100g (1/2 cup) of rice people eat, they consume three to four mg of plastic. The number jumps to 13 mg per serving for instant rice (researchers said you can reduce plastic contamination by up to 40% by washing rice). That also helps reduce arsenic, which can be high in rice.

Once again, in a recent study, one liter of water, the equivalent of two standard-sized bottled waters, contained an average of two-hundred and forty-thousand plastic particles from seven types of plastics, including nanoplastics, according to a March 2024 study. Microplastics have been found in the human lung, maternal and placental tissues, human breast milk, and even human blood. Until recently, there has been very little research on how these polymers affect the body’s organs and function. A March 2024 study found that people with micro or nanoplastics in arteries within the neck were twice as likely to endure a heart attack, stroke, or any cause over the next three years in comparison to those who had none. According to experts, nanoplastics are the most worrisome type of plastic pollution for human health. That is because of the minuscule particles that can invade individual cells and tissues in major organs, potentially interrupting cellular processes and depositing endocrine–disruptive chemicals, such as bisphenols phthalates, flame retardants, per polyfluorinated substances, or PFAS and heavy metals.

In the February study, which was published in Environmental Research, researchers looked at over a dozen commonly consumed proteins, including beef, breaded and other types of shrimp, Chicken breast and nuggets, pork, seafood, tofu, and several plant-based meat alternatives; such as nuggets, plant crumbles, similar to ground beef, and plant-based fish sticks. Breaded shrimp contained the tiniest plastics by far at well over an average of 300 microplastic pieces per serving. Plant-based nuggets came in second at under 100 pieces per serving, followed by chicken nuggets, pollock fish sticks, minimally processed white gulf shrimp, fresh caught, Key West, pink shrimp, and plant-based fish link sticks. The least contaminated proteins were chicken breast, followed by pork loin, pork chops, and tofu. After comparing the results to consumer consumption data, researchers estimated that the average exposure for American adults to microplastics could range between 11,000 and 29,000 particles a year, with a maximum estimated exposure of 3.8 million microplastics per year. The oceans are filled with plastics, and a number of studies have captured how those end up in the seafood we eat.

However, fewer studies have looked at vegetables and land animals, as well as proteins, such as cattle and hogs, according to an August 2020 study. The study published in Environmental Science found between 52.050 and 233.000 plastic particles under 10 micrometers. Each micrometer is about the diameter of a raindrop, and various of those end up in fruits and vegetables. Apples and carrots were the most contaminated fruits and vegetables, respectively, with over 100,000 microplastics per gram. The smallest particles were found in carrots, while the largest pieces of plastic were found in lettuce, which was also the least contaminated vegetable.

While science learns more about the plastics we consume, experts say people can do things to reduce their exposure. Try to avoid eating anything that has been stored in plastic containers. Look for food in glass, enamel, or foil. Wear clothing made from natural fabrics, buy consumer products made from natural materials while eating as much fresh food as possible, and limit purchases of processed and ultra-processed foods wrapped in plastics.

According to experts, nanoplastics are the most worrisome type of plastic pollution for human health.

Awealth of scientific evidence links indoor air pollution to many health disorders – such as allergies, chemical sensitivities, fatigue, asthma, and respiratory conditions. But there is more –indoor and outdoor pollution may also contribute to a growing number of insidious, debilitating health disorders – like autism, Ischemic heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and even brain cancer.

Most of us spend more than 70 percent of our time indoors, not realizing that levels of many common contaminants are higher indoors than outdoors. Inside our homes and businesses, the lifegiving indoor air we breathe has become increasingly contaminated with new strains of airborne viruses, bacteria, and toxic mold.

Ultrafine Particles - The Most Harmful to Our Health

Many health conditions are affected by small ultra-fine particles. When I speak of ultrafine particles, I am talking about tiny particles that get deep down into the lung tissue or wiggle their way through to brain tissue. You cannot see them; they are invisible to the naked eye.

Recent air research has focused on toxic ultrafine particles (UFPs) that have more serious health impacts than larger particles. Because of their nanoparticle size, UFPs can easily enter the body’s circulatory system and distribute to various organs, including the lungs and brain. They cause inflammation and affect the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, wreaking havoc on your health.

Other Serious Health Concerns

- Ultrafine particles cause pulmonary inflammation and are retained longer in the lungs. Exposure to PM 0.1 induces cough and worsens asthma. These UFPs can predispose individuals to ischemic cardiovascular disease and hypertension.

- Dementia and Alzheimer’s UFPs from power plants and automobiles may greatly increase the chance of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, according to USC-led research.

My Recommendations for an Air Purifier To Reduce Airborne Contaminants

What is needed to combat the most harmful airborne contaminants we face today is an air purification system that has better-than-HEPA efficiency combined with an electrostatic function that can trap UFPs and kill viruses, bacteria, and mold

Mold spores are much larger than viruses and can be trapped and eliminated in most HEPAgrade air filters. However, bacteria and viruses are much smaller and can pass through standard HEPA filters.

The Health Way Disinfecting Filtration System (DFS) reduces ultrafine particles and captures 99.99% of bacteria, mold, fungi, viruses, and other microorganisms down to a size of 0.007 microns.

This innovative technology has a 7-stage prefilter, after which the air passes into the DFS zone, which combines a high-energy grid with a filter to capture particles down to nanometer size.

The HealthWay unit is listed as a Class 2 Medical Device by the FDA, allowing it to be used in hospitals.

Humanities is the course that many of us may have taken during our educational pursuits. Rarely have we historically assembled all the wonderful things that we humans have done over millennia and presented them in a positive light.

The only thing that prevents you from accomplishing your higher goals and achieving your biggest strength is your inability to believe in your own capacity.

Today’s mindset is so scattered and disassembled that we instantly think of the negative displacing positivity in all its riches and rewards. There are two other ways that humanity functions. The first is the gathering of all people from all nations everywhere. This collection of races, genders, religions, nationalities, and philosophies all have one thing in common: our genetic makeup. Conversely, our learned biases and often offensive opinions have displaced the biological, spiritual, and emotional commonality that bonds us.

Humanity, which we possess in our heart and soul and should express through compassion and empathy, has often dwindled our persona, which then becomes negligible and squashes soulfulness. All of this leads us to separation, segregation, difference, and controversy. Individually, when we lose our true human essence, we fall prey to the stressful societal abnormalities called “normal.” This leads us to a fear-based consciousness, and we then seek to have others restrict their lives as much as we have chosen to for ours. Cultures and societies have risen and fallen due to the unfortunate cyclical process that seems to be addictive and habitual. On rare occasions, someone jumps off the merry-go-round and climbs to the top of the mountain, temporarily leading back to one’s self. Historically, this has been short-lived since the angry people in power feel threatened when individuals recognize and employ their freedom and expressions.

In my work with Hippocrates, I have had the grand privilege to observe the inner workings of liberation from fear and disorder. It is remarkable how often I have observed people with a death sentence denounce the grim predictions and embrace their true humanity, conquering the disease and revolutionizing their future. Each of us possesses the tools and wisdom to reconstruct what is often viewed as a broken, confused existence. The only thing that prevents you from accomplishing your higher goals and achieving your biggest strength is your inability to believe in your own capacity. Fundamental to this essential process that brings you back to the very place that you began before the step-by-step disassembling of your soul occurred via family, education, religion, and political missteps. Every single piece of you still exists; just pick them up one by one and affix them back together until you become whole, happy, and contributory.

Greatness is not external; it is internal and sparked by your spirit and fed by your commitment to a fully functional you. Decades ago, I was working with a middle-aged woman who had visited with what was known as America’s top doctors residing in the most renowned institutions. Of course, each of them had their own opinion on her advanced malady, and at the end of every conversation, after proposing a number of treatments, therapies, and medicines, they individually stated, “We have never seen anyone heal with this disease.”

Her neighbor, who had attended the Hippocrates Institute in Boston in 1972 and recovered from Multiple Sclerosis, suggested she sign up for Hippocrates’ 21-day Life Transformation Program. When our medical team and I counseled her, she brought a large, heavy binder with her. When each of us told her the problem she endured was something we had seen in thousands of people who had recovered from it, she couldn’t believe it. I remember her stating, “The most respected doctors all tell me I am going to die, and you are stating that I can bring about my own recovery?” I recall her puzzlement when I picked up the phone and asked if she would like to speak to men and women who have all healed themselves. After the third call, she looked at me and said, “I guess that I can do it.”

I said, “You could have done it without speaking to these individuals, but because you doubt yourself, you needed confirmation from the doctors at the institution, our medical team, and three people out of hundreds who have healed the very disease that is naming you.”

Needless to say, this was the first time she had ever heard anything like this in her life, and from that moment forward she began to rely on the greatness that humanity has expressed. Her own humanity which united her heart and soul, and the humanity of her fellow brothers and sisters that were willing to share their stories of raising themselves beyond the current negative state that the human race finds themselves in. You, like her and every other person on earth can achieve fulfillment and fascinating pursuit by letting go of what you previously thought to be normal.

Neurocise Andreas Sjostrand on new Hippocrates

Quantum Fitness Program

As an exercise physiologist, a personal trainer, a professional athlete, and ultimately the owner of a gym in Luxembourg, as well as Stockholm, Sweden, I began to see the limitations that most exercise imposes upon us. When I began to think of this many years ago, I realized that everything that I and the others I trained were doing was reducing my biological and psychological potential.

At first, it was challenging since we kept relying on all that we knew from the past. Eventually, it finally clicked when we released the idea about building, reverting it, and converting it to expansion. Playfulness throughout life allows your physiology to integrate with your environment. By doing so, mobility and anatomy unify, becoming one and allowing you to flourish well into your golden years.

It is not about sculpting a body. It is about embracing yourself. Once you allow yourself to have joy in the development of your physiology, it becomes second nature and provides you with everything you need at the very moment you engage in this profound yet effective method. As time passed, I employed this with person after person all over Europe. I recognized that to bring this to the world, I needed a vehicle that people would acknowledge.

Blake Clement became one of the people who came to me for training. We began to speak about the possibility of bringing this to Hippocrates Wellness. This finally happened last year, and Anna Maria and Brian Clement opened their arms to me and instantly saw the extraordinary benefit you can get from the simple act of release.

All other forms of exercise, be it yoga, Zumba, weightlifting, aerobics, stretching, etc., chisel away at an expensive structure and force it to become less than it wants to be. Neurocise is completely the opposite and

the first form of athletics that free you from limitations and bring you to your inner soul and limitless potential.

Hippocrates has embraced this form of callanetics expansionism as its core fitness program. My hope as a founder is that we bring this to every man, woman, and child on earth so that, once and for all, we can harmonize the body with the universe that we all reside within.

As important as it is to consume life from food from the plant kingdom, it is equally important to create a life in your body that renews. You, on an ongoing basis, forge forward in consciousness and capacity. Neurocise is something you can do anywhere; it always brings the desired result and gives as much as you put into it.

It will reward you with a bountiful ability to gain even more in your pursuit of health and happiness. This will not only be offered here on the Hippocrates campus but also as an online program, and our hope is that, as this expands beyond the limited offerings today, we can bring this to your community, your country, and your part of the world.

Allow yourself to believe your body is crying out for you to tend to its need to explore movement in every way possible. What is delightful for me and the people at Hippocrates is watching how some people who could

hardly stand raise their potential within days, weeks, and months to the point where, naturally, their balance and bodies become friends and not foes.

It can help to erase pain by stretching and allowing blood to flow through your vessels, into and out of organs, to maintain their highest function. You can give your consciousness the needed fuel that only comes from a user-friendly body that is exceptional to reside in rather than an exception. We challenge you to embrace Neurocise daily to become a functional and happy member of the quantum human race we are embarking on.

Grow and go beyond your wildest dream

For more than seven decades, we have searched globally for an advanced body, mind, emotion connection to the universe fitness technique.

In the quantum world we are now moving into, it no longer sticks to the slogans body, mind, and spirit; we have to tune each of these areas to their frequencies of AI and beyond. To keep our freedom as Homo Sapiens, we must maximize our abilities, which are well beyond our current representation.

Every step, thought, move, action, and even fantasy via imagination should lead to a positive outcome. To achieve this, we must harness and unify all the energies and forces within us, which have remained untapped for centuries, if not millennia. Our ancestors, despite lacking the technology to discuss it, understood this concept.

In their nomadic lifestyle, primal people understood the importance of respecting the earth. They knew that when they touched the earth with their feet, it was healthy. Their connection with nature and the universe, and even the divine, instilled in them a deep respect for their environment. As we transitioned to an agrarian lifestyle, we began to lose this understanding of our connection to everything.

When we moved with the 20th century, into the Industrial Revolution, and then rapidly into the information age, we became wildly estranged from all that we were from in the past. This made us impotent emotionally, spiritually, and biologically. We are now emerging into the consciousness age, whereas mathematically, we have established that consciousness is a pattern of rhythms and frequencies that actually create certain information. In one of our books, "Emospirit," we discussed it as the invisible library.

Until now, humankind, being lost and away from nature, actually thought that we created consciousness from within our own being. The original Homo Sapiens recognized that consciousness was what we lived within. We will go back to this now, and in fact, we will all learn from the consciousness that is omnipresent.

Hopefully, this allows us to relax and authentically become who we are meant to be on a biological, psychological, and human level. "Neurocise," means it's the right size for you; you adapt to this, move into it, and grow with it as your capacity to let go increases. For the first time in history, we are going to offer the worldwide population something that will express our true inner strength, and without fail, it will allow the brain to blossom, the body to become bold, and the spirit to go beyond struggling to thriving in multiple universes.

All of this was the brainchild of Andreas Sjostrand in Sweden. He was aware that when, in fact, we fuel the body with living plants and exercise it with entertaining fun, we liberate ourselves to become not only free, flexible, and floating but filled with fulfillment and strength. "Neurocise" will supersede any and all other movement, exercise, and fitness programs since it will validate your purposeful person and become the standard of gold and platinum in the world that we are moving into.

We welcome you to participate with Hippocrates Fitness online or attend one of our upcoming in-house programs on campus, led by Andreas, the founder and co-creator, along with Hippocrates Wellness, for this spectacular offering.
