Alumni share transformative stories of overcoming chronic conditions, restoring vitality, and embracing purpose through lifestyle changes, resilience, and gratitude. By Hippocrates Alumnus

We explore how commitment is more than a feeling; it’s an attitude, an intention, plus an action. Commitment is the link between desire and manifestation.

Brian Clement dives into how the transformative power of challenges fosters growth, resilience, and a purpose-driven, joyful life.

Lynne

What does it mean to recover? To heal? To find balance again? Recovery is not just about regaining what was lost; it's about discovering something new within ourselves—a strength, resilience, a primal sense of self, and the clarity we might not have known was there until we were given the right tools to find it.

Life, in all its beauty, is also full of challenges. We stumble. We fall. And in those moments, we are faced with a choice: to retreat into despair or to rise with courage, ready to mend what is broken. The path of recovery is rarely linear, often messy, and deeply personal. Yet it is also profoundly universal, touching on something every human being can understand—the desire to be whole again and live a long and healthy life.

In this Recovery issue, we honor the courage of those who have walked this path. Within these pages, you will discover inspiring stories of transformation and resilience from Hippocrates' guests, who have sought sanctuary and healing within our campus community. Their journeys remind us that no matter how far we stray or how heavy our burdens may feel, there is always a way back to ourselves.

Recovery is as much about the heart as it is about the body. It's about rediscovering hope, finding purpose, and cultivating a connection to something greater—be it a sense of spirituality, the embrace of nature, or the power of human connection. It's a reminder that even in our most fractured moments, the light can find its way in, filling the cracks with grace and possibility.

If you're seeking expert guidance, eye-opening education, and the tools for self-healing—whether through movement, mindfulness, nutrition, or connection, this issue is for you! Join us as we explore actionable insights into creating sustainable habits and learn how to hold space for others on their recovery journeys.

I hope these stories inspire you to reflect on your own resilience, to find gratitude for how far you've come, and to feel empowered as you step toward optimal wellbeing. Recovery is not the end of the journey—it's a new beginning, a chance to live with deeper intention and a renewed sense of passion and purpose.

As we step into a new year, let's celebrate the beauty of growth and the unshakable spirit of the human experience. Wishing you a healthy, happy, and love-filled 2025!

With gratitude and light,

"The wound is the place where the light enters you." - Rumi

Embracing the Power of

Self-Healing

A Message from the Directors

At the turn of the 21st century, 25 years ago, we began our annual January 1st recovery issue. This acts as a perpetual reminder of the power that each of us possesses to self-heal.

Yearly, hundreds of people who adapt to this quantum cuisine and accompany it with the required lifestyle necessities that we have taught for seven decades bring about remarkable and documented healing. If there is any sadness in our hearts after a combined 106 years of work, it's that billions of people are suffering unnecessarily, and the answer to health, happiness, and healing is a simple step in the right direction.

We recently wrote a story of a woman who had to have part of her tongue extracted due to cancer that mainstream oncologists, as we have heard thousands of times, told her she would then be "CURED." As expected, within a few months, the cancer had spread to her lungs, and now she faced what they called an "irrefutable problem."

Being powerfully enlightened and a selfrealized human being, she knew there had to be another route, and she came through Hippocrates. Her focus, commitment, and follow-through were commendable, and in a matter of just a few months, she reduced the size of her "deadly tumors" by 2/3. Three months after this, she was free of cancer, diagnosed by the same institutions that had told her that she faced death. Our greatest teachers over time have been people who live at a human level and do not suffer the oppressive limitations that our fragile society and cultures place on us. Each of us possesses an essential wisdom and a Godly infusion that truly enables us to go beyond the perceived maladies.

When life is so distorted, and one feels they have no control, they perceive themselves as victims of circumstance. This devalues all of the healing energy we are born with and have seen time and time again. Whenever our

wounds heal, and our memories wane, unless you make yourself relevant by truly embracing your passionate purpose, the significant disorders become parachutes out of an unhappy life. This is why we can clearly state that 100% of the tens of thousands of people we have worked with and personally seen recover, heal their spiritual and emotional wounds, elevate themselves to the level of a human being, and unwaveringly re-established their minds and bodies to the place they were during the moment they were conceived. The cycle of life is challenge, healing, and recovery. The multitude of people who share this beautiful planet are on an endless cycle that requires this triune of temperance. Our strength, awareness, and possibilities expand when we progress, grow, and learn from this beautiful cycle.

There is never a time when the universe detaches from you. So, remain connected and relinquish your weakness by gaining the energetic excellence of the multiple universes' Godly frequency. Your enlightenment and potential will manifest with ease, and for all time, you will be unified with currents of energy that actually are your very being. Recovery is completely up to you and an extraordinary way to live in a new era of consciousness.

What are the best ways to enhance gut health naturally?

- Julia Thompson, Boulder, CO

A: Previously, science exposed the importance of a high plant/roughage diet in producing healthy bacteria within the intestines. Today’s science has revealed that uncooked organic plant fare is the true and essential food producing an exceptional microbiome where 80% of your immune system and 90% of your psyche is generated.

Q: Why is the Life Transformation Program 21 Days?

- Carlos Ramirez, San Francisco, CA

A: From 1956 until 1987, the program was 14 days long, and although we saw remarkable shifts in health, they still needed to rise to the level of excellence. When relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida, we added a third week, equaling 21 days, and immediately acknowledged an exponential change in everything from preparedness to knowledge to blood chemistry. It takes 21 days to change a habit, and now we know biochemistry.

Q: Does alcohol prevent my body from absorbing nutrients? - Helen Wu, Seattle, WA

A: Alcohol is commonly used to preserve perishables since life cannot survive in it. So obviously, when we consume this sugar-based poison that brings fermentation, it dissolves nutrients and impairs the digestive and elimination canal. At the same time, it destroys healthy gut bacteria. Needless to say, it is linked to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, etc.

Q: What role does inflammation play in aging, and how can I reduce it? - Robert Hale, Chicago, IL

A: Inflammation is when the body’s systems are not hydrated, nourished, balanced, or stimulated. Incorrectly, so-called “Holistic doctors” state that inflammation creates disease. Factually, lack of living nutrients, adequate fluids, movement and exercise, and overuse of sugar, salt, chemicals, and other pollutants, along with high-stress cortisol activity, inflames the body, speeding the age clock up dynamically and dramatically. It is and always will be lifestyle that places us back on the right course to healthy, active aging.

Q: Are there any specific foods that help improve brain function and memory? - Isabella Rossi, Florence, Italy

A: Common foods that grow neurons and maintain brain pathways are fresh raw greens with high oxygen, nitric oxide, vitamin E, amino acids, and B vitamins. Mushrooms such as Turkey Tail and supplements like Hippocrates' Lifegive Conscious Brain are accelerants for those who desire optimum memory and brain function.

Q: What are the best natural remedies for improving fertility? - Ethan Moore, Austin, TX

A: Hippocrates is known for a wide variety of exceptional results for those who embrace this historic lifestyle. One of the most notable is fertility. Over the last 70 years, we have worked with thousands of couples in their quest to conceive, and some of them have done so on campus and then returned and had their babies at the same place they became pregnant. We have endless stories of people who were unable to conceive and then erased that blockage via hormonally and nutrientrich cuisine. In addition to deep psychotherapy sessions, while in the program, it turns out to be a fertility festival. At one point, dozens of pictures of babies were displayed that people had based on Hippocrates' diet and lifestyle.

Q: What are the long-term benefits of intermittent fasting?Charlotte Turner, London, UK

A: As Homo sapiens, the majority of the time we spent on the earth, we were nomads who consumed wild plants and most often did not eat. Our evolutionary body is still that person. In contrast to the three meals per day, the snacks, the high-caloric beverages, and the perpetual oral fixation we have with stuffing our mouths, think of what taxation must be on us. Today’s socalled “health food” is generally processed, cooked, and often preserved. All of which nullifies the majority of nutrients. People typically live on carbohydrates, sugar - not the cell and bodybuilding proteins, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and most importantly, hormones, oxygen, phytochemicals, and enzymes required to maintain youth, vitality, virility, and mentality. Recessing 12 to 16 hours between meals, eating an organic, raw, plant diet, and fasting a minimum of once weekly will restore homeostasis to an overworked, dysfunctional system that perpetuates disease and shortened lifespan.

Q: Is it safe to use herbal supplements for hormone balance?

- Mark Peterson, Toronto, Canada

A: Although trained as a master herbalist, individualizing is best when seeking help in this critical area. Vitex, a common tincture that women can benefit from, is a standard suggestion that works in most cases but not all. Well-informed and experienced bioidentical hormone practitioners with an acute knowledge of herbology would bridge the gap and be effective in most cases. I caution you to refrain from getting off-the-counter progesterone creams, etc., since they may not precipitate the necessary results to harmonize. In this heavy metal, chemically and radioactive world, it is rare to find someone, female or male, who is not out of balance hormonally. Each of these concerns directly impacts hormonal science.

Q: What’s the most important lifestyle change for longevity?

- Grace Lee, Melbourne, Australia

A: A positive attitude and affirmative outlook manifest the required consciousness to abolish animal food consumption and all of the disease-causing entrapments of contemporary life. Clear, consistent data shows that plant food, routine, movement, exercise, and community foster exceptional life spans.

Q: How can I recover quickly from intense exercise or physical exertion? - Matthew O’Connor, Dublin, Ireland

A: 365 days a year, I exercise and follow up with infrared saunas. When at home, infrared, and most often when traveling, Scandinavian. Cold plunges or cryotherapy would be equally beneficial, which I successfully undertake 2 times weekly and 104 times annually. Hydration with fresh raw green juices and or distilled water with either food-based electrolytes or lemon is also helpful.

AARON STEVENS

OVERCOMING WEIGHT ISSUES & RECONNECTING TO NATURE

My weight issues began after surgery in my early teens and worsened during university. Without access to proper sports facilities, combined with late nights, alcohol, social pressures, and high stress and cortisol levels, I gained significant weight.

I then discovered Hippocrates Wellness through a call with their experts, and it changed my life.

Their transformative program included exercise protocols, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert personal trainers, which helped me establish a healthy routine. Within days, I went from feeling sluggish to completing two-hour morning workouts and enjoying the regenerative pools and diverse fitness classes. In just three weeks, I lost over 30 pounds, gained muscle, and felt stronger. It was lifechanging for me.

By the third day, my energy soared, and by the second week, my mind became sharper. I realized the profound connection between gut health and mental clarity. This transformation helped me reevaluate my life and I knew that working as a corporate manager no longer aligned with my wellbeing.

Hippocrates also helped me reconnect with my passions— working with nature, preparing healthy food, and creating for others. Since then, I’ve learned about growing wheatgrass and sprouts, volunteering, and embracing a healing lifestyle. Next, I’ll pursue a Living Light Raw Chef certification in California, allowing me to bring holistic health into the culinary world.

Hippocrates Wellness didn’t just help me lose weight; it gave me a new purpose and a healthier, more fulfilling way of life.

AMANDA JOHNS

BATTLING HEART FAILURE & ITP THROMBOCYTOPENIA

Several years ago, I faced the darkest chapter of my life. After years of illness, I ended up in the emergency room with heart failure, anemia, and ITP (Immune Thrombocytopenia), an autoimmune condition causing dangerously low platelet levels. I had lost all but three units of blood and was bedridden, unable to walk. Because of my illness, I lost my job, my income, and the independence of my own life. Despite a grim prognosis, I held on to my will to live.

Though medical treatments kept me alive, they were temporary fixes with severe side effects. I knew I had to find a deeper solution and understand my illness. My research led me to Hippocrates Wellness, where everything changed.

Waking up at Hippocrates felt like waking up in paradise. I embraced a plant-based lifestyle and explored detoxification and energetic healing modalities. I discovered the body’s innate ability to heal itself and learned to trust my intuition. The serene environment was a catalyst for my transformation, physically and spiritually.

Today, I am vibrant and healthy, working as a raw food coach, licensed massage therapist, spiritual healer, and restorative health instructor. What many saw as a tragedy became a blessing in disguise. It gave me a new purpose: to inspire and empower others on their wellness journeys.

Your story, like mine, can lead to a brighter, healthier reality. Empowerment is the greatest gift on this journey.

ANDREA GRAEVE

In August 2011, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer after noticing fresh blood during a bowel movement. My surgeon planned to remove my rectum and install a temporary colostomy, with reconstruction to follow. Facing this frightening prospect, I turned to the Life Transformation Program at Hippocrates Wellness, which was gifted to me by a family member.

I decided to split the 21-day program, attending for two weeks before my surgery and the final week afterward. Living nearby, I commuted daily to Hippocrates, immersing myself in learning, therapies, exercise, and fresh, delicious plant-based meals. I discovered the healing power of wheatgrass juice and felt a deep connection to the institute’s history, as its founder, Ann Wigmore, also overcame colon cancer with wheatgrass.

Spiritual counseling played a crucial role in my healing journey. My counselor, Antony Chatham, created a guided audio recording to help me visualize my recovery, strengthening my faith and peace of mind. I spent my days walking around the breathtaking campus, smiling. There was no doubt in my mind that I would be healed.

Midway through the program, a blood analysis revealed I was healing rapidly, and the staff nurse suggested postponing surgery. Shortly after, my surgery was delayed due to insurance, allowing me to complete the full threeweek program.

I completed my glorious stay at Hippocrates and continued the Hippocrates lifestyle at home—growing wheatgrass, preparing gourmet vegan meals, and staying positive. In three months, my tumor shrank by sixty percent, and my new surgeon removed the remainder without requiring a colostomy. Even my husband lost weight and lowered his blood pressure just by adopting this new way of eating.

Now fully cured, I credit Hippocrates for transforming my health and life. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful marriage of 37 years, six grown children, and seven grandchildren (with two more on the way). I cherish every moment with my family and share my story to inspire others to embrace health and healing.

In March 2017, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and told radical surgery and five years of chemotherapy were my only options. Shocked and disheartened, I sought multiple opinions until I found a doctor who confirmed what I felt deep down: chemotherapy might not be necessary for me.

Hearing about Hippocrates Wellness and its transformative success stories, I decided to try the 21-day Life Transformation Program in Florida.

While there, I embraced a plant-based lifestyle, learned holistic health practices, and gained hope for recovery.

Back home, I stayed committed to the Hippocrates lifestyle with support from a local naturopath recommended by their medical team. I thought reversing cancer would take years, but by September—just six months after my diagnosis—there was no trace of the disease.

Now completely healthy, I am living proof of the power of taking control of your health. Anyone willing to take responsibility and put in the effort can achieve extraordinary healing.

BILL CARTER

SELF-HEALING FROM LYME DISEASE WITH THE HIPPOCRATES LIFESTYLE

I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina. I've been visiting Hippocrates Wellness since 2012 with my wife. We just love it. The treatments and the people at Hippocrates are all about healing, love, and caring. We always enjoy meeting new people there who come from all over the world to heal themselves from very debilitating and life-threatening diseases like cancer. We've seen remarkable results every time.

Both my wife and I are healthy. I'm 78 and have been healthy my whole life, but I love going to Hippocrates to reeducate my body and get back onto a good eating program.

My wife came here with Lyme disease five years ago and did some very intensive treatments, and as a result, the Epstein-Barr Virus and Lyme Disease have practically gone. They don't affect her as much as they used to, and we're so thankful to Hippocrates. We absolutely love Anna Maria and Brian Clement, co-directors of Hippocrates.

They are one of the huge reasons we love visiting Hippocrates: we discover something new every time. Anna Maria and Brian travel the world, looking into all kinds of ground-breaking, progressive treatments, bringing many back to the 55-acre sanctuary to offer to the guests.

We now host events for them in Charlotte and fill the room with as many people as possible because the more people discover the magic of Hippocrates, the more they need to go and get their bodies back to healing naturally. We've learned that when you put the right foods in your body, your body takes care of itself, so we'll continue coming.

We try to make it every year and stay for at least two months, but most of the time, we stay for three weeks. It truly is the best part of our lives now. I think everybody should take advantage of Hippocrates and send their loved ones there. Get them there at young ages, and teach them how to care for their bodies and not eat at McDonald's or, my favorite, Waffle House!

Go and spend three weeks at Hippocrates, or one week if you can, but get there. I look forward to maybe meeting you sometime when you get there!

In 1996, I had such severe acid reflux that I lost my voice for two months. Despite this, I didn’t listen to my body until three years ago, when I fell asleep at a stoplight in the afternoon. That was a wake-up call. I realized I didn’t have the energy and clarity I needed to get through the day, given my busy lifestyle. I knew I needed to get my energy back.

Health-wise, my triglycerides and cholesterol were too high, and I was 90 pounds overweight. But it wasn’t until I spoke with a coach about building my business that I got serious about my health. She pointed out that although I had been exercising and eating “healthy” according to American diet standards, it wasn’t enough. She said, “Andrei, it doesn’t match. You can’t get up on stage and talk about leadership when you don’t have your own act together.” That hit me right between the eyes—another wake-up call.

Determined to get to the root of my problem, I started researching and came across a YouTube video of Brian Clement, director of Hippocrates Wellness Institute. My gut told me he knew what he was talking about. After checking out the Hippocrates website, I signed up for their online program.

I realized I had to learn what Brian was teaching—the techniques, methods, and correct information about how to achieve and maintain exceptional health. I focused on strength, mobility, blood chemistry, and digestion. I was pleased to find that my triglycerides dropped by 50 points.

After eating, I no longer feel bloated or lethargic and can function well on less sleep. I have a ton of energy now, and it’s not from caffeine; it’s real energy. So many health problems could be reduced if more people ate living foods. We’d see far less obesity, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and even indigestion. These issues can often be addressed by eliminating toxins from the body, balancing acid-alkaline levels, and staying active.

ANDREI JABLOKOW

LOW ENERGY, HIGH TRIGLYCERIDES, & HIGH CHOLESTEROL

The reality is that we are all like machines, responding to external inputs and programming. The trick is to unlearn what we’ve been taught by well-meaning authors, the medical community, the media, and the government and re-learn the right techniques from Hippocrates Wellness.

I took it one step at a time. First, I started growing sprouts and wheatgrass. Then, I incorporated more raw foods into my diet.

I begin each morning with a 2-ounce shot of wheatgrass. For lunch, I have sprouts with cucumbers, peppers, nuts, and seeds. In the afternoons, I eat a bit of fruit, and for dinner, I have another sprout salad with a steamed vegetable.

Here’s the best part: I’ve unintentionally led my family into this way of living. My two sons, aged 14 and 18, and my wife now eat this way. We walk outside every day, and my sons and I are focused on body weight, strength, and mobility training—with great results. Even people I work with are getting healthier.

If you save yourself through this program, you can save so many others around you—just by walking the talk and leading by example.

HOW 21-DAYS AT HIPPOCRATES WELLNESS TRANSFORMED MY LIFE

I live in Puerto Rico, and I went to Hippocrates Wellness for the 21-day Life Transformation Program.

I just want to say how incredible our experience was. The accommodations were absolutely beautiful and spotless.

The 55-acre tropical campus is so tranquil and stunning. The housekeepers were so sweet and kind, and the kitchen staff were very accommodating and friendly. They would help you with anything you needed, whether it was a recipe or how to prepare and make food.

DENEAN CARR BREAST CANCER

&

WEIGHT LOSS

In July 2016, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The cancer was metastatic and had spread to my lymph nodes and lung. The doctors didn’t give me much hope for recovery.

But I’m incredibly stubborn and refuse to accept someone else’s interpretation of my life. I immediately set out on a mission to heal myself.

Yes, I did chemo, but I was still able to run several 5K races during my treatment, thanks to a vegan diet and lifestyle. After chemo, the tumors in my breast and lymph nodes dramatically shrank, and the tumor in my lung disappeared completely—without radiation. Today, I am cancer-free!

When I discovered

Hippocrates,

I was elated. I finally found a health institution that believes what I believe: that the body can

truly heal itself!

In the midst of reconstructive surgeries, a cross-country move to the city of my dreams, and pursuing my passions, I also lost 60 pounds—getting back to the weight I was in high school!

Hippocrates Wellness works if you live the lifestyle. I’m living proof!

The Hippocrates Lifestyle has made a significant difference in my life and health. I know things will only get better with time!

CHUCK MEIERS

HEALING BLADDER CANCER

Several years ago, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Wanting the best treatment possible, I went to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City since I lived on the East Coast.

An expert physician there performed a couple of surgeries with varying success before suggesting the next step: a cystectomy. This radical procedure would involve removing my bladder, prostate, and several lymph nodes.

As I researched the science and statistics on the outcomes of this surgery, I was stopped in my tracks. I knew I needed a second opinion. Exploring my options eventually led me to Hippocrates Wellness Institute.

Just speaking with co-director Brian Clement opened up a new world of healing for me. I realized I had to take responsibility for my life and my future. My wife, Lisa, and I fully embraced a plant-based living diet and sought out progressive naturopathic oncologists. They were aligned with Hippocrates' approach of boosting the body's immunity to help reverse disease.

Now, I am cancer-free and can't recall ever feeling better in my life. Decisive action, rooted in common sense, is a powerful tool in achieving a healthy life.

Not only are all my organs still intact, but I've also implemented positive mind practices to ensure they stay that way.

Lisa and I want to thank Anna Maria, Brian, and the incredible team at Hippocrates for being a bright light during the darkness of disease.

DAVID & ERIKA MCMULLEN

FROM MULTIPLE MYELOMA TO VIBRANT HEALTH WITH HIPPOCRATES WELLNESS

We first came to Hippocrates Wellness for the 21-Life Transformation Program. When I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a life-threatening cancer of the bone marrow, the median survival was about five years. Now, over seven years later, I am vibrantly healthy, thanks to two things: the unwavering care of my brother, David, and the life-changing lifestyle we embraced through Hippocrates.

During the Program, we learned invaluable lessons about healing and wellbeing from co-directors Brian and Anna Maria Clement and their incredible team. The supportive community on campus enhanced the experience, creating a tranquil and uplifting environment that profoundly aided my recovery and changed our lives!

We are tremendously grateful to Hippocrates and to all the guests who have become a cornerstone of our lives. We’ve returned

six

times and plan to keep going.

It’s a truly transformative place that has given us health, happiness, and lasting connections.

We encourage everyone to experience Hippocrates for themselves— you won’t regret it!

It's crazy how suddenly life can change. If someone had told me five years ago that I would be a healthy, passionate writer, entrepreneur, and naturopath, I wouldn’t have believed them.

Back then, being well felt impossible. I was housebound, in excruciating pain, drowning in misery, and battling six chronic diseases. My face was full of cysts, and my heart struggled to pump at 35 beats a minute.

A lifetime of emotional suffering had paved the way for these degenerative diseases, but my journey to wellness transformed me. Today, I am a better version of myself than I ever thought possible. I’m honored to say that you can do the same.

I’ll never forget the day I stood in a specialist’s office just after my birthday—the fifth doctor I’d seen in a month. He gave me my sixth diagnosis and suggested a medication with a mere 25% success rate. I’ll never forget his face or the feeling I had as I left the hospital, blinded by panic and uncontrollable tears. Here I was, at 25, with so many illnesses. The worst of them all was interstitial cystitis, an ulcerative autoimmune bladder disease. I was certain that my life—or at least the life I had always imagined—was over.

The puzzle pieces started to fall into place. I was transformed, slowly but surely, and healing in ways I never knew I so desperately needed.

I could finally leave my house. I felt the sun on my skin, walked at night, and breathed fresh air like it was the first time. I smiled at strangers I would’ve overlooked before, wondering if they, too, were in pain. I reconnected with old friends, met new people, and built meaningful relationships with others who were suffering.

Months turned into years. Those days were a blur of latenight research, emotional breakdowns, holistic studies, and guidance from natural health gurus. It was a whirlwind of wild and wonderful personal experiments—monthlong water fasts, detox cleanses, supplements, diets, and healing center visits. But finally, I discovered my favorite of them all: Hippocrates Wellness Institute.

That’s where I was introduced to the power of raw vegan foods and the healing effects of detox through alkalizing, hydration, and purging physical and emotional waste. I struggled to stick to the program, but my body began to respond.

I celebrated every mini-milestone: leaving the house for an hour without needing a bathroom break or eating an apple without symptoms. I laughed out loud for the first time in years. My tears faded into smiles, and I learned—maybe for the first time— that I actually wanted to be alive. I decided to share my joy with others.

I began to enjoy healthy foods, no longer seeing them as a burden. I designed healing recipe ebooks, wrote articles for my blog and health forums, and contributed to educational websites. I also made informational YouTube videos, sharing my knowledge of naturopathy, nutritional science, and other disciplines. Most importantly, I shared what worked for me so that others who were suffering could have hope. There is no such thing as “incurable.”

Today, I am free of every one of my diseases. I am vibrant, healthy, and excited about the miracles that lie ahead. It wasn’t easy, especially in the beginning, but it was absolutely worth it. If I could go back in time and do it all again, I wouldn’t change a single thing.

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and I'm totally in love with Hippocrates Wellness: the lifestyle, the people, the atmosphere, the knowledge, the speakers, all that we've learned, and the students. They were like family—having friends and a support system is really important. Finding like-minded people on our journey helped improve my stress levels and the situations I was going through in my life.

I had gained weight, and I was not feeling good. The worst thing was my energy levels. I really didn't feel like going out, working out, or just doing the things I love to do just because I didn't have the energy. So, I realized I needed a healthy body, mind, and spirit to truly live life fully.

So, I started working out. I followed the Hippocrates diet, and I lost so much weight while I was on the program, 15 kilos, which is over 30 pounds. This was significant weight loss for me.

RENEWED ENERGY & WEIGHT LOSS

Now, I'm not missing out on foods I used to eat because I don't believe in missing out or suffering. After all, this is the way to do it, whatever your reason. It's actually doing it because you want to; you're having fun and enjoying it. You have energy. And if I have the energy and enthusiasm and feel good, I'm all for it.

My favorite things at Hippocrates are going to the gym and working out. I love the personal trainers. Mine showed me some amazing exercises, and it really had an impact on my body.

We had the dance party on Friday by the Hacienda Pools on campus. There's a DJ, and the Hippocrates guests get together. But what's really, really beautiful is seeing everyone participate.

Joy and Happiness are hormonal, and our food and lifestyle affect us. When I walked through the beautiful 55-acre Hippocrates grounds, which are truly like paradise and surrounded by nature, birds, animals, and butterflies, I was just in such a blissful state.

I want to share it with others and create and organize detox stays where people can come and focus on anti-aging, weight loss, and energy levels so we can live our lives to the fullest. You must go and visit Hippocrates Wellness! It will transform your life.

DISCOVERING THE HIPPOCRATES APPROACH

My journey to Hippocrates Wellness came from the pain pushing me here. From the moment I sat down, the first words I heard from Brian and Anna Maria were telling me that you're here to find yourself. I knew I was in the right place.

I'm so grateful for everyone here at Hippocrates: all the staff, teachers, and colleagues.

For Brian, Anna Maria, Dr. Janet Hranicky. Each one has helped me see what I need to see, hear what I need to hear and create an action plan so that I can become the me that I want to be.

Hippocrates is not only a place to nourish the body; it's a place to nourish the mind and soul.

The holistic approach is amazing and life-changing, and this is just the shift I needed to enjoy the next phase of my life in a bigger and better way than I can ever imagine. Thank you, Hippocrates.

BATTLING BREAST CANCER

I'm from Brazil. The first time I came to Hippocrates Wellness was in 2011, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Coming here completely changed my diet and lifestyle, and it transformed my life.

Now, in my life, I am very healthy. Every time I go to the doctor, all my blood tests and ultrasounds show continuous improvement.

Hippocrates feels like my second home. I love this place and believe everyone should come here to learn how to be healthy.

I’m especially grateful to Brian and Anna Maria Clement, who have been my mentors and have helped me immensely on my journey.

In 2015, I decided it was time to take things further, so I enrolled in the Health Educator Program. Since then, I have been spreading Hippocrates' message in Brazil. I’ve established a volunteer program for cancer patients, where we follow the Hippocrates protocols.

I collaborate with doctors and researchers, and together, we’re doing amazing work in Brazil.

Now, even doctors refer their patients to me, and I’m currently studying nutrition at university so I can earn my degree. My goal is to spread this message to as many people as possible and help them live healthier lives.

COMBATING POLYMYALGIA RHEUMATICA WITH THE HIPPOCRATES LIFESTYLE

At 66, I feel more energetic and vibrant than I did at 50, thanks to the 21-day Life Transformation Program at Hippocrates Wellness. This holistic program taught me how to care for my body, mind, and soul—I still apply those lessons daily.

That’s a far cry from January 2015, when I was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica, a debilitating inflammatory disorder causing widespread pain and stiffness.

A specialist told me I’d need to take prednisone for the rest of my life. While it provided temporary pain relief, it weakened my immune system. After trying dietary changes and weaning off medication, the pain returned aggressively, leaving me unable to work or function. I even wrote my Will, convinced I was dying.

Then, I remembered the countless transformations I had witnessed as a former maintenance director at Hippocrates Wellness. In November 2015, I enrolled in the program, immersing myself in a raw, plant-based diet and participating in yoga, spirituality classes, and therapeutic treatments like infrared saunas and healing pools.

The experience was life-changing. Hippocrates taught me how to let my body heal itself by nurturing my immune system and eliminating harmful habits. Pills cannot heal you; they only mask symptoms.

Today, I adhere to the Hippocrates diet, practice Tibetan yoga, and stay active with cycling and rollerblading. People often tell me I look younger than my age—a testament to this anti-aging lifestyle.

Hippocrates gave me my life back, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

THE MIRACLE OF LIFE: FROM INFERTILITY TO TWINS

At 38, I longed for children and was determined to conceive naturally. After surgery for polyps and endometriosis, combined with Ayurvedic medicine, fasting, and daily wheatgrass shots, my husband and I became pregnant within two months—with identical twins.

Though my infertility specialist doubted I could carry them to term, both girls were born healthy. My doctor even exclaimed, “You and your babies are miracles!”

They both faced health challenges early on after receiving vaccinations, developing atopic dermatitis and gallbladder cholesterol stones. One stone led to a liver disorder. Instead of opting for surgery, we followed a homeopathic protocol, and within a month, the stones were gone. She is now five and thriving, and we continue to follow Hippocrates’ living foods lifestyle.

My second daughter had a 3mm heart defect at birth. Traditional doctors doubted it would close, but we incorporated the Hippocrates diet of sprouts several times a week alongside a regular diet of soups, pasta, and other meals. Since transitioning completely to a raw vegan diet can be challenging for any family, we also supplemented her with zinc.

After a year of this, the hole is almost completely closed. Now, my girls tell everyone that it’s very healthy to drink wheatgrass juice!

I had been studying Ayurveda, so when I heard about living foods at the first raw vegan conference in Lithuania in 2012, I quickly embraced the message. This was the first time Brian and Anna Maria Clement visited our home country, the birthplace of Ann Wigmore.

At that time, I was exhausted from raising twins and their health challenges. I also suffered from candida, parasites, joint pain, bleeding gums (especially after eating meat), dandruff, and skin so dry that my fingers bled.

A liver flush and nine weeks at Hippocrates Wellness changed everything. My health is restored, my energy is high, and I’m passionate about spreading the message of raw, living foods to others.

PHILLIP NICOZISIS

SELF-HEALING THROUGH VEGANISM

I live in West Palm Beach. I've been a vegan for close to 15 years, and I've been a good vegan, a bad vegan, a saintly vegan, and a junk food vegan; I've been every kind of vegan. Hippocrates Wellness introduced me to veganism and inspired me greatly. I've been through 11 weeks of programs there.

I've given talks and lectures in 12 different countries through Hippocrates as a volunteer. And I have to say, I always come back to this particular version of vegan lifestyle because it's the best one, and it really is the only one.

I'm a vegan, not a saint, and I encourage everyone to come here. And if you come here and the first week's difficult, just trust the process, figure things out, and stay with it. Because if you stay with it as the years go on, you realize there's more going on than just your health.

Many of you come here with health challenges, and you can, in many cases, halt, reverse, and resolve those health challenges if you stay with it. It's really not about us. It's about not causing harm and the worst possible things that go on to bring animal products

to your plate. The idea is there's no way we're going to have a society where we treat each other well as long as our food choices require violence. Take the dairy industry, for example. We must stop impregnating one and two-yearold cows to produce milk; there's no way we'll solve the world's problems as long as we're doing what we're doing in animal agriculture, and then eating it becomes our very cells.

Hippocrates Wellness is an incredible place. The best decisions I ever made are, number one, to go vegan. Number two, marry my wife. Number three is discovering yoga, which was really the portal to my regular meditation practice, and then other physical health treatment modalities at Hippocrates.

Coming to Hippocrates and learning about the vegan lifestyle is one of the top three best decisions I've made in my whole life. At 56 years old, that's where the record stands right now. So, I say, enjoy the journey and go vegan. You won't regret it!

DISCOVERING HEALTH AT HIPPOCRATES: OVERCOMING PITUITARY ADENOMA

My interest in health began at a very young age—around six years old. My mother was attending nursing school, and I would sit beside her, eager to know what she was studying. She nurtured my curiosity by letting me help with her vocabulary, words for memorization, and learning skeletal diagrams for identification. Often, I would sit by her side, looking at the pictures in her textbooks while she studied. Most parents might have shooed me away, but my mom had tremendous patience and took the time to teach me.

In high school, I gravitated toward the sciences. I knew I wanted to be a doctor. As it transpired, this academic curiosity proved invaluable for my own health challenges.

At age 15, I was trapped in the high school bathroom with a sudden attack of excruciating pain in my lower right back. Thankfully, my sister was there to get me help. Not knowing what was wrong, the doctors admitted me to the hospital. After numerous tests and procedures, they performed exploratory surgery and discovered the problem: I had three kidneys—one on the left side and two on the right!

They tried connecting the two ureters on the right side but were unsuccessful. After three weeks, I was readmitted for a nephrectomy. During another monthlong stay, they removed one and a half kidneys from my right side, leaving me with just one functioning kidney. This marked the beginning of my nutritional journey.

On the advice of my nephrologist, I started my mornings with a cup of warm water and juiced lemon. I was also advised to monitor and limit my protein intake, which was fine with me as I wasn’t very fond of meat anyway. This sparked my curiosity about different diets, such as macrobiotic and vegetarian.

Growing up in Wisconsin, meals typically consisted of meat, potatoes, and dairy. Even in grade school, we were given a pint of milk before lunch. Thankfully, my family also ate plenty of vegetables. I had tried veganism and food combining in the past, but I didn’t fully understand the proper, nutritious way to do it.

In the early 1990s, I was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma. The treatment options were surgery, chemotherapy, or

a drug to shrink the tumor. As a newlywed longing for freedom, I chose the drug. It worked well for me, but I later learned it was taken off the market because it was killing patients.

In the early 2000s, I was diagnosed with a lump in my breast. None of my previous health challenges had scared me as much as this. My mother had died of breast cancer at a relatively young age, so I was frightened. It wasn’t easy, but I accepted this was just part of who I was - perfectly imperfect.

That’s when I discovered Hippocrates Wellness Institute. I enrolled in the 21-day Life Transformation Program, and it changed my life. The staff addresses the mind, body, and spirit, educating the whole person. The experience of being on the lush, nature-filled campus, walking from my room to class, and the spa treatments significantly contributed to my transformation toward health and wellness.

It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. I feel truly blessed to have Hippocrates in my backyard. The staff’s wealth of scientific knowledge, combined with their 70-year legacy of practical experience working with countless people and knowing what truly works, makes Hippocrates a uniquely valuable experience.

My gratitude for the opportunity to stay at Hippocrates inspired me to take the Online Program. I want to be a source of knowledge for others in their quest for health - the Hippocrates way.

STEFANIA SPATARU

REVERSING THE UNREVERSABLE: BATTLING STOMACH CANCER

As a little girl in the mountains of Eastern Europe, I skied every day in the winter and thought life was just a joy. When I got older, I had big dreams about moving from my small country and seeing the world.

In 1995, We picked up roots and moved to Western Canada, which is stunningly beautiful with a moderate climate. I lived there for fifteen years, and the company I worked for asked if we would like to move to New York City. Around the world, people dream of the United States, and N.Y.C certainly is the Big Apple.

So here we were, living in a bustling highspeed city totally different from my childhood roots. We adapted well and got caught up in the excitement. From the time I was thirty, my stomach was always upset, and when I would go to physicians, they would just prescribe anti-acid pills.

One of these has since been taken off the market because it was linked to stomach cancer. This persisted, and the discomfort became pain. Having access to some of the top medical physicians I visited, and they told me I had stomach Cancer. What a shock it was. As a young woman with a daughter, the options were bad: surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

Somehow, I always tended to want simplicity and nature more than exploratory medicine. My pain got worse and worse, and I finally succumbed to the surgery. They removed part of my stomach and small intestine.

At least the pain went away. I jumped on a plane in 2012 to attend the Hippocrates Wellness 21-day Life Transformation Program, as my Canadian friends told me how spectacular it was and that I certainly should go.

Sitting in the office with Anna Maria, she confidently guided me and told me how to navigate my life from this point forward. I was still recovering from the surgery, so I could not participate in all the exercise programs and even resisted riding a bike (my favorite). Still, I attended all the classes and listened to every word.

I left armed with my arsenal of disease and agedefying technology: a juicer, a dehydrator, and all of the supplements that were personally suited for me. I also got the name of Perfect Foods, who actually delivered sprouts as soon as I got home, and ever since then, I have been juicing, eating, and gaining strength from these sprouts.

I also have my indoor apartment kitchen where I grow fenugreek, alfalfa, clover, mung, and assorted other seeds. I have remained committed and periodically go back to do scans. I have been cleared now for all those years. Having menopause just a few years ago for the first time presented sleep concerns. So, I felt close to burnout between my work, which I do out of my home office, and not sleeping well.

My cancer has gone, but I don't want to have any other problems because my stress level is so high. Returning has renewed my spirit and given me a positive path to up my game and even conquer my insomnia.

What is wonderful is that I now ride my bike every day in Central Park, which is close to my house. I also do Yoga there and in another park in the city. I am a living testimony to what can be achieved once you focus and commit to helping and healing yourself.

In my mind, Hippocrates has undoubtedly been my partner in saving my life and expanding my possibilities.

My cancer has gone, but I don't want to have any other problems because my stress level is so high. Returning has renewed my spirit and given me a positive path to up my game and even conquer my insomnia.

ROXANE VÉZINA

MIGRAINES, EMOTIONAL TRAUMA, & RECOVERY

By the age of 34, I had already lived a sickly life. I suffered from severe migraines twenty days out of each month. As a 6-month-old, I had eczema, and my childhood was marked by frequent allergy tests, resulting in the removal of foods or substances that made me sick, itchy, or breathless.

At 8 years old, my tonsils were removed; at 12, my appendix. By 17, I had my first kidney infection, and at 22, my second. Between the ages of 12 and 34, I vomited bile every three to four months.

But in April 1998, my life took a major turn when I attended my first 21day retreat at Hippocrates Wellness. Everything I learned was so different and new. At the time, I didn’t believe that Anna Maria and Brian actually liked the taste of wheatgrass! I was so skeptical; I thought they had hired actors to pretend to enjoy the lifestyle. Now, I can’t believe how far I’ve come.

In 2000, I returned to the Institute to confront a deep "family secret," which marked the beginning of my healing. I gained a profound understanding of emotional intelligence and the importance of expression. The frequency of my migraines and headaches drastically reduced. During this time, I met a vegetarian man who I eventually married.

Over the next few years, I continued my training in the Living Food Lifestyle and began studying communication. Two years later, I became a neurolinguistic programing master. I also graduated as a certified coach with 1,000 hours of training and six months of practice supervision.

My spouse and I are still deeply connected to Hippocrates, and in 2007, we chose to celebrate Thanksgiving and our seventh anniversary there.

The following year, we proudly became Health Educators and Ambassadors.

We even won the Derrick Brockie Award for our proposal to assist the institute with its expansion.

In 2009, my mother finally came to Hippocrates to improve her arthritis. I began offering free French translation services to Hippocrates guests using an online device. This service became so successful that, over the next year, I created a one-week Living Food Lifestyle Program at a destination spa in Quebec, which continued for another seven years.

I also became a columnist for health magazines and partnered with Paris-based Dany Culaud to create the first Franco-Quebec health group. In 2013, I invited researcher and author Jacqueline Lagacé to experience the Hippocrates Program so she could analyze its scientific foundations. This inspired her to write her fourth book, TheEndofPain:HowNutritionandDietCanFightChronic InflammatoryDisease.

I graduated from the NeuroLeadership Institute and prepared to launch two fully French-translated holistic websites: qilucru.com and instituthippocrates.com.

I also organized Brian Clement’s 2014 visit to a health conference in Montreal, hosted by Crudessence. As a tribute to Andy Roman’s support during my recoveryHippocrates' pyschologist - I translated his book Deep Feeling,DeepHealinginto French It is available on Amazon under the title: A sentiment profond, guérison profonde.

As an Executive Coach trained in neuroscience, I’ve concluded that focusing on leaders’ vital energy is key to their business success. Brian Clement invited me to give my first corporate workshop at Hippocrates for a business team holding its strategic planning offsite in Florida. What a joy it was to merge my passions for coaching, neuroleadership, and health!

I sincerely hope my journey inspires you to create your own wonderful life story. Everything is possible! Wishing you enthusiasm, joy, freedom, and passion for a healthy and fulfilling life!

RICHARD BUCCI

DISCOVERING THE HIPPOCRATES APPROACH

I'm from Alabama. I've just been to Hippocrates Wellness for the third time. When I left the first time, I realized how important nutrition was for the general wellbeing in healthcare of the American people. The exceptional care and education that I received on campus was so helpful for bringing me back to my community, to my practice, and to tell people how important it is to eat properly, and how we get better the more we practice this.

I really feel that every time I come here, I am rejuvenated, and don't feel or look my age, and I enjoy feeling well and getting optimal nutrition.

Once I got back into the wheatgrass regimen, I lost 25 pounds in two weeks, got my spirits up, and felt much better physically. I'm looking forward to continuing exercise and a healthy diet, especially now the availability of healthy food is becoming more popular.

I wish again that the medical field would provide more positive education toward this and their patients, and I'd like to emphasize that doctors personally should take responsibility for their patients. From this standpoint, it will improve their own home lives and nutritional lives and support patient recovery as part of patient care, not just offer more medicine!

SHARON HALLE

STEPPING BACK INTO FITNESS & GUT HEALTH IN JUST 3 WEEKS

I stumbled upon the Hippocrates program because I wanted to clean up my gut.

After not exercising for three years, I was also looking to get back into an exercise routine. Having been away from exercise that long, I found the first week of the program a little challenging, but once you're at Hippocrates and start detoxing, the second week, you start feeling like a million dollars.

You feel great and ready to take on the world by the third week. And that's why I keep on returning. I've done the program twice. Each time I've come, I've lost at least 12 pounds and managed to keep it off. What's different about this place is the food; it's very healing, and the people.

I found it really hard to first walk into Hippocrates as I hadn't exercised for so long, so I had no muscle tone. I initially felt uncomfortable coming in and being in a group with other people exercising. But I soon realized that it's the people that make it, the people that work here, the people that come here; they all become somewhat of family to you because they deeply care about you.

To come in and go raw vegan is extreme, so the supportive spirit means the world. I was eating meat before I came here in June. After a while, everything tastes different in the food. It's amazing how your taste buds wake up. Just imagine how you'll feel, how much energy you'll have and stamina from the food. It makes you want to go home and try to implement it into your daily routine.

I do juicing at home now. I don't have the inflammation in my body anymore. I feel amazing. I have energy. I get up, I work out. I don't have coffee anymore. A healthy lifestyle gives me energy. Sure, it's a lifestyle change, but I don't think I could turn back now, not knowing how good I feel!

STEPHANIE DEBS

COMBATING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE & WEIGHT LOSS

I’m 25 years old and from Boston, Massachusetts. I discovered Hippocrates Wellness through my mom. We both went down there together as I wanted to lose some weight, but one of the main things I was working on was high blood pressure.

The doctors were shocked that I was not on medication because my blood pressure was so high for my age, so that was the number one thing I really wanted to focus on during my 21-day stay on the Hippocrates Life Transformation Program.

Within five days, I actually lost nine pounds, which I thought was crazy and awesome at the same time, and it really helped me see that what people are doing at Hippocrates is healing them. My blood pressure dropped

by

10 points on both the upper and lower side within five days.

I was very excited to continue doing and listening to everything they told me at Hippocrates. I'm getting so much out of my personal training sessions and never realized some of the things you could do in the gym, even when you're by yourself, because I've experienced mainly group classes.

My trainer has been sending me programs and things to follow, even just on the treadmill, like how you can do interval training. I'm learning so much! It's very different and exciting to learn new things from her. I really enjoy the variety at Hippocrates; when I'm home, I only do boot camp. Experiencing that variety inspired me to return to Boston and find different classes to attend.

I realized that group classes are the thing that works best for me; I just need to have accountability and be there cheering everyone on. One thing about Hippocrates that I really enjoy is that they emphasize practicing what you've learned at home.

I love listening to Executive Chef Ken talk and make the food in front of us on campus. I definitely want to continue the Hippocrates Lifestyle. One of my commitments is to grow wheatgrass myself. It's so important at Hippocrates; they educate you on the benefits of consuming it. In the Hippocrates store, you can buy sprouting containers. I've never attempted that before, so I'm very excited to go home and try that and have a little bit of Hippocrates back home with me.

STEVEN KAPLAN

NEW ATTITUDE, NEW MAN

They say a repeat customer is a happy customer. That might explain why I’ve enrolled in Hippocrates' programs four times since June 2017 and why I have a fifth trip planned.

I love Hippocrates because it’s a mind, body, and spiritual sanctuary. As a Type 2 diabetic, it has been a life-changing experience for me. Before my first visit, my cholesterol level was 170, my blood pressure was 135/80, and my A1C level was 11. But in the last 13 months, those numbers have improved and stabilized at 160, 130/78, and 5.4, respectively.

In September 2017, I visited my doctor, and he told me I could stop all my medications because my numbers had improved so much. By making a lifestyle change and religiously following the protocol recommended by Hippocrates, my numbers are now better than they ever were with medication.

That lifestyle change includes eating a plant-based diet and exercising consistently. I include sprouts with everything I eat and enjoy nuts, beans, raw hummus, and zucchini spaghetti.

I follow the run-walk-run protocol recommended by former Olympian Jeff Galloway for exercise. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, I alternate jogging for 2.5 minutes and walking for 30 seconds. On the other days of the week, I wake up each morning at 6 a.m. and go for a four-mile walk.

My hard work has paid off. I’ve lost 25 pounds so far. For the first time in 25 years, I can tuck my shirt into my pants without feeling fat rolls. I also went to the beach and walked around without wearing a shirt for the first time in years. Before, I was always extremely self-conscious.

I’m doing everything I can to embrace this lifestyle change, which is why I continue enrolling in Hippocrates’ threeweek programs.

They offer an extraordinary, serene, and loving atmosphere. Each time I go, I learn something new and implement that knowledge into my lifestyle. I continue to return to recharge my batteries.

We’re all going to die someday, but I don’t want to suffer before I do.

LIVING THE HIPPOCRATES LIFESTYLE: EMBRACING OPTIMAL HEALTH & VITALITY

I live in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I have always dreamed about coming to Hippocrates Wellness Institute in West Palm Beach for their signature 21-day Life Transformational Program, and I'm so glad I could make it happen. It's just been amazing.

I have been vegan since 2007, but I had never really looked at going 100% raw or mostly raw. But now I'm very excited about embarking on that journey. I've learned much about myself, changing my lifestyle and improving my habits.

Their educational program has been wonderful and lifechanging. I have learned so many new things, even though I've been doing this for a long time now, 17 years, and I've gone to many places. I have listened to many doctors' lectures, all plant-based doctors, and I've learned some new things at Hippocrates from Brian and Anna Maria Clement, and the rest of the expert team on campus.

I highly

recommend going to Hippocrates

if

you are considering making a positive lifestyle change.

Some people go there while on a standard American diet, and they are challenged to make changes to improve their health, and I sure hope they will. I'm so glad I made the change 14 years ago to being a whole plant food vegan.

At Hippocrates, I explored more of the raw food diet and the Organic Spa and Salon, which offer fantastic, toxin-free treatments. I Highly recommend buying extra colonics while you're on the program and doing them once every four to five days. I also recommend having a massage at least once a week during your stay and trying out some of the alternative therapies that they offer to fully optimize your experience.

I greatly appreciate the opportunity to come to Hippocrates and wish you a blessed life.

VERONICA ROMAINE

COMBATING ANEMIA, INTRAUTERINE FIBROIDS, & HORMONAL IMBALANCE

Although I’ve always known the importance of a wellbalanced, healthy diet, I didn’t realize how important a raw, vegan, organic lifestyle could be for my overall health.

My journey began when my younger sister, at the age of 36, was diagnosed with an invasive form of breast cancer. I have what my doctor calls 'white coat syndrome'—an extreme fear of doctors—but I really wanted to support her. She seemed to handle the news and discussions about different treatments very well. I was the one who completely fell apart emotionally, and I could feel the stress begin to affect me physically. She was constantly checking on me to see if I was okay, and we both agreed that I was not the right person to accompany her on visits to the doctor.

When her doctors explained the link between hormones and breast cancer, I decided that the best way I could support her was to help her eliminate animal products from her diet. In my determination to get her well again, I began to live the way I wanted her to live. This led me to adopt a vegetarian diet, but I was too aggressive and didn’t research enough. After a routine gynecological check and blood work, I was told my iron was extremely low. I had ignored symptoms for so long that I thought my rapid pulse and constant yawning were normal. I also developed intrauterine fibroids.

I started seeing an acupuncturist to help shrink the fibroid tumors, which did shrink by 2 centimeters. After several sessions, I decided that a vegan lifestyle was the way to go. I noticed quite a difference between consuming a vegetarian diet and a vegan diet. Exercising, eating fresh, mostly organic foods, and waking up with so much energy was an incredible feeling. However, I still had a large 6-centimeter fibroid, which, although asymptomatic, made me uncomfortable with my otherwise healthy body.

I elected to have multiple myomectomy surgery last year, just as I was finishing the final module of the Hippocrates Wellness Institute course. My plan was to have the surgery

to remove the fibroids and, during my six-week recovery, to consume only raw vegan food that I had studied over the past year. This plan went really well. I even started sprouting and dehydrating foods, all of which I had learned through Hippocrates.

I stuck to a fully raw diet for the summer of 2016 and again for the summer of 2017. During the winter months, my diet was about 75% raw. I decided that I would continue consuming a fully raw diet during the summers and 75% during the winters. However, I know that if I ever become ill and am fighting a disease, I will definitely switch to a fully raw diet.

Through my studies at Hippocrates, I now understand my symptoms and how they relate to low iron, low oxygen, and excess estrogen. While fibroids can grow back, I am confident that I’ve gained the knowledge about why they were there and what caused them to rapidly increase in size.

Thank you, Hippocrates, for showing me how to safely combine foods and for teaching me about growing and sprouting, the importance of soaking nuts, beans, and grains, and the value of consuming highly oxygenated food. I will forever be grateful!

BREATHLESS TO A BREATH-FILLED CANCER 'GOODBYE'

Growing up North of Boston in a community that had been there for hundreds of years gave me a sense of comfort and confidence. From the time I was a young girl, I dreamed of settling, being a mother, and raising a family. All of that was coming true. I love children so much that I created a business for pediatric therapy. So, my work was a joy rather than a burden. Upon delivering my third child, I was not feeling quite right, and the doctors came back with the frightening news – I had lung cancer. Needless to say, it was a big shock.

I was not a smoker, and at the time, it was just an emerging science; over one-quarter of those who contract this disease do not have a history of inhaling cigarettes. The doctor and I decided that the route I wanted to take was to exhume part of my lung. He clearly stated that it would not come back this way.

With a sense that that was true, I went back to my life, but what the cancer did provoked more need for me to grow my business, since in the back of my mind, I was thinking I may not be here twenty years from now.

My diet was a health hazard; this was not on my radar at that time. Between the stress I was bringing on myself, the cancer itself, and my long, long hours of stress, the next bad news was this disorder bloomed into a stage 4 killer.

Looking up lung cancer results is not pleasant; they practically have a zero-success rate of long-term survival. My disease started 18 years ago. Ten years ago, the doctor said I should take a medicine that may help my immune system suppress metastasis.

I knew there had to be more. I learned about Hippocrates Wellness and came to their very first Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program led by Dr. Jan Hranicky in 2015.

This was an eye-opener. Things I had never thought about, like my perception, emotional state, fears, and joys, all play a major role in creating and reversing disease.

I became provoked at such a level that my mindset had to be altered, and I have been on a quest for the last twelve years to do so. Every day, I apply a form of conscious meditation that focuses on being a healthy, productive, and happy human being.

My diet has been impeccable; I have been on sprouts and living foods and listened to every word I learned when I came to Hippocrates Wellness. Most importantly, I realized I must start sharing this with others. After more than 18 years of not only surviving a mortal concern, I am actually thriving as a human being.

My daughters have lived this way with me, yet it has not been a burden; it has been a life enhancer for all of us. If I had not come to Hippocrates and made the necessary changes that were pro-me versus against me, I most likely would not be here today.

I have had the honor of coming back and speaking to participants in the Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program, and this brings such deep joy to my heart and soul that I cannot express it in words. Looking at the eyes of these people sitting in front of me as I describe my story reminds me of how I felt the day I sat here lost, confused, and thinking I may not make it. We will now consistently bring directors Anna Maria and Brian Clement to the Boston area to share the knowledge and wisdom that this Institute and they have gathered over the last seventy years.

Unfortunately, so many suffer unnecessarily when the answer is simple and effective; when you face a frightening future, turn it into a future of fantastic opportunity.

I became provoked at such a level that my mindset had to be altered, and I have been on a quest for the last twelve years to do so. Every day, I apply a form of conscious meditation that focuses on being a healthy, productive, and happy human being.

MY ZIG-ZAGGING BACK TO RECOVERY: FROM PROSTATE CANCER TO VITALITY

2020 was an eventful year for all of us, but it turned out to be frightening for me. I began to have slight difficulty urinating, and I contracted the COVID-19 Virus and was feeling unwell. This actually happened three times. This propelled me to see a physician, and when they checked, they said my PSA numbers, which, unfortunately, they still use as a meter for prostate cancer, were highly elevated.

My wife Mary-Ange, who has been a nurse for years, was interested in and lived in the most natural way possible. She strongly advised me to be cautious about going down the path that the conventional doctor suggested. Despite that, they began to take scans and said it appeared that this cancer had gone wild and metastasized, making it stage 4.

They then suggested a PET scan, which they never performed but made sure that I got biopsy after biopsy. When they rescanned me, what my wife suspected would happen came to fruition. The cancer had spread deeply into the bones and lymph glands of my body. I cannot reverse my choice, but if I had to do it over again, I would have avoided this.

I simply panicked. They suggested that I immediately do surgery, but I knew enough from my experience with them so far that I may want to put this on pause and take another route. Although Hippocrates was in our neighborhood, somehow, it seemed more appealing for me to go to Mexico, thinking they offered more options. Little did I know that Hippocrates had the most advanced technologies and progressive approach in all of North America, which rivaled that of any European clinic.

My mind works in such a way that I have to know why before I do, and I immediately stopped the sugar. I then adopted a 100% raw diet and have done so for 2 ½ years. The results have been so spectacular. I am now in aggressive remission rather than aggressive metastasizing, and we see on the scans what is happening, but most importantly, how I feel is radically different.

I should have listened to my wife, who advised me the day I was told I had cancer to get on the living food, organic diet. Addiction is hard, and many of you reading this may not even understand that you have a blind side to the amount of sugar you are taking in and possibly fats and other chemically latent "foods" that are probably stoking cancer and other diseases.

It's hard to change. Hippocrates is not only an educational center but a rehabilitation center that has the ability to give you the chance to change yourself. I chose that. I changed, and due to that, my cancer is now leaving.

If I have anything to say to anyone needing this, I have been to the other side of the mountain, the frightening part that's dark. I am back here to tell you that I have taken a zig-zag approach to this, and if I had it all over to do again, I would have immediately come to the center that's done this work more than any other institute or health organization on the planet. I have utter confidence Hippocrates' seventy years of practice that has turned out to be successful for tens of thousands of people is better than the newbies with theology, philosophy, and "technologies" that they are just beginning to understand.

You don't need to wait until you are sick, like me. I further petition all of you to live a healthy lifestyle so you don't end up with cancer and other disorders. This is not the way nature and God intended it for any of us. We were given the gift of life, and we must honor that and have gratitude for it.

Live a life that is commensurate with wellbeing, happiness, and success. It seems difficult in a world of deception and illness, but I can assure you that it will make your life exactly what it should be.

HOW LIFESTYLE CHOICES HEALED DUCTAL CARCINOMA IN MY BREAST

Eight years ago, I was not feeling like myself, so I decided to go to the doctor, who then told me I had ductal carcinoma in my breast. He immediately referred me to Boston, where I live, to see the "top Oncology surgeon" whose first words were, "Let's take both of your breasts." When I visibly reacted to that, they said, "Well, if you wish, we can do a lumpectomy and then follow it up with chemotherapy."

Needless to say, this was a devastating shock to me, and I was paralyzed emotionally. Deep down, I knew I didn't want to pursue such a radical course, so I searched for natural physicians who could give me more optimistic advice. I then met a woman who had been to Hippocrates Wellness Institute and had kept her cancer at bay for years. She immediately stated that you need to read the book Radical Remission and sign up to go to Hippocrates in West Palm Beach, Florida, to attend the Hippocrates Comprehensive Cancer Wellness Program that the institute has offered for nearly 70 years. So, that’s exactly what I did.

After graduating, I was tested, and needless to say, I was elated when the physician said six months after my lifestyle changed that my cancer was gone. Locally, I had a naturopathic doctor who helped me stay the course, and being a prolific reader and optimist for natural living, I read everything and did every practical thing I could to remain well.

Life caught up with me, and as so many do, I slipped and went back to the self-destructive lifestyle that brought the cancer upon me to begin with. I was a single mother at the time and dated my now husband, then boyfriend, and my children and mother were very supportive from the first moment that I was told I was ill years earlier and that I needed to make my body well. With all their support, I somehow was not supporting, honoring, and loving myself sincerely enough to stay on the very thing that had saved my life previously.

The pandemic hit, and I thought in the back of my mind that this was a great opportunity for me to get back on track with my diet, exercise, etc. The exact opposite occurred - I was making food for others and indulging. I was under enormous stress, and the world was imploding down upon all of us. What occurred was not superficial; my cancer

returned. My local natural doctor said he would help me reduce the inflammation that was a symptom of the reoccurring disease.

We kept it at bay slightly, but I still did not make the essential commitment to go back to the basics. Once again, my family and all my loved ones supported me to go back to Hippocrates. This time, I re-engaged deeply in the education of healing for four weeks and made sure that I spent exceptional time with the long-term, on-campus psychotherapist and had constant chats and discussions with the other guests, many of whom were facing the same prognosis that I was.

This time, I realized how important community is in supporting you and making you realize that you are not a bad or odd person for slipping; it is difficult to do the right thing in a world of so much wrong. After just two weeks on the program, my inflammation dramatically dropped, so I could feel it, and I knew that my cancer was once again well on its way to remission.

All I can say to each of you reading this is that life is so important and a gift. Never forget to be sincerely active and make sure that you respect and love yourself enough to do the things with your lifestyle that represent that sentiment.

Healing is up to each and every one of us, and there is not one person who cannot heal; you just have to have the depth, desire, and determination to do so.

KATHY HARGROVE

FINDING MYSELF BY LEAVING BEHIND OBESITY, DIABETES, & TRAUMA

Living in Oklahoma, I found myself in the grips of metabolic disease as people all over the country and now the world do. My doctor kept throwing more and more meds at me, so it grew to twenty-two. I weighed two hundred fifty pounds; I was fed up with life. I went online and saw a film about somebody who came to Hippocrates and reversed one of my many disorders, diabetes.

I signed up, got on a plane and arrived at the Hippocrates campus. This was not much different than me visiting another planet. I remember looking at the buffet the first day and thinking "Oh my God." I pretty much stayed on my own.

Slowly but surely, I started to open up, first my eyes, then my heart. One of the most important things I did was to work with Antony Chatham, one of the Hippocrates' psychotherapists. He ripped me open, made me value life, and understand that I should feel worthy rather than worthless.

By the second week, the food tasted better; by the third, my co-students and I were at a different place of acceptance. I returned home, remaining loyal to plant-based living. There were so many things that I experienced in my process of recovery. I went to the Amen Clinic in Dallas and had a brain scan. I finally found a doctor who would listen and understand much more than the conventional types I had employed in the past. He carried out tests that were remarkable and showed that I had a tic-borne disease called alpha-gal (this is not Lyme's) that makes my body, like so many others who most likely do not know, reject all flesh foods and their byproducts.

The Hippocrates lifestyle began to chip away at my burden, and over a twenty-four-month period, I lost a hundred pounds along with a slew of disorders. My diabetic condition went from 13 A1C to 5.1 A1C. The burden on my heart, skeletal structure, kidneys, and blood pressure was lifted. One of the most fascinating things was to see who my tribe was at home because many people felt awkward about the changes I had made and fell to the side. My true friends emerged. The friends I made during my first stay at Hippocrates were closer to me than many that I have known for decades. A friend said, "Let's Go back to Hippocrates." At first, I was reluctant, but I returned, and O'Boy was glad I did.

I was ready for the second level, and my mind was clear now; my body was functional, but I was still limping because removing so much weight takes time for the knees, hips, etc., to lubricate and work well. All of the treatments and therapies that I did took that away as if it never existed. I went into a deeper conversation with the psychotherapist and alleviated things that I was not ready to do before, but I am happy to do so. One of the most remarkable things is that I am now sixty-five, but my biological age is fifty-one. I felt like a hundred and fifty-one before initially coming to Hippocrates.

You must be the child you were, you are, and you want to be. You have to remove all of the blockages and limitations and traumas and pain and self-loathing. You must believe in yourself and raise your self-esteem so greatly that you love life and yourself so you become the essence of your greatest dream.

The Transformative Power of the Hippocrates Wellness Lifestyle: A Personal Journey

In today's world, where the internet instant gratification and processed food convenience often take priority over health, many are seeking a path back to nature—a lifestyle that honors the body’s innate ability to heal and thrive through plant-based nutrition and holistic wellness.

For nearly seven decades, Hippocrates Wellness has stood as a beacon of hope for those searching for vitality and longevity, offering a sustainable lifestyle rooted in raw, living foods, detoxification, exercise, and the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit. As someone who has embraced the Hippocrates lifestyle, I can personally attest to its transformative power.

My Journey to Hippocrates Wellness

Over eighteen years ago, before discovering the Hippocrates lifestyle, I was like many other health foodies—shopping at the local health food store, eating organic food, eating raw food, doing yoga, and exercising, yet dealing with food cravings and weight maintenance issues. Despite my serious commitment to diet and exercise goals and successful achievement, periodically, I experienced a lack of motivation and application of my routine. The number one thing I attribute this to is a lack of emotional support. I was a mom doing my best, yet sometimes, my best was not enough to keep all the figurative plates spinning. After the birth of my third child, I suffered the onset of Hoshimoto’s disease. A few years of pharmaceutical drugs ensued, with side effects, leading me to dig deeper into natural healing options. I learned more about raw, living food and decided to transition to 100% raw. The shift to 100% low-sugar raw foods was challenging

at first, but the results were undeniable. Within weeks, I experienced more energy, goal motivation, weight loss, and a renewed sense of self-healing power. The power of a raw food diet nourished me deeper on a cellular level, and I set the goal to get off my prescription drug. I studied and realized that the way forward is to holistically heal my body. I applied all I had learned and created new habits. After 18 months, I successfully got off the prescription drugs, replacing them with thyroidhealing foods and lifestyle practices to detox, heal, and balance my body. My bloodwork affirmed my success. Years later, I learned what I was doing aligned with the Hippocrates lifestyle.

The Rise of Hippocrates’ Online Programs: A Student’s Transformative Journey

For those unable to visit the stunning 55-acre Hippocrates campus, the institute offers a range of convenient online programs designed to deliver education, inspiration, and empowerment into the comfort of your home. These unparalleled courses cover essential topics such as raw food preparation, detoxification, emotional and mental healing, and even how to effectively mentor others. With flexible pacing, these offerings make the wisdom of the Hippocrates approach accessible to individuals worldwide. Regular conference calls feature globally renowned expert speakers, while live mentor calls, which I personally host, provide a space for students to network, support each other, and receive guidance.

Students enroll in the Hippocrates Wellness programs for diverse reasons—some seek to enhance their longevity, others to overcome disease, and many wish to become nutrition mentors or deepen their knowledge of living foods. Regardless of their initial motivation, each student embarks on a unique, profound journey. Immersing themselves in the principles of living foods, detoxification, and holistic wellness, they evolve physically and mentally. I’ve witnessed firsthand how this journey fosters not just behavioral changes but a deeper shift in how students approach life.

The Hippocrates philosophy encourages personal responsibility, and students begin to embrace this fully. They evolve into advocates, eager to share their newfound knowledge and inspire others. The impact is undeniable—students leave the program empowered and transformed, armed with the tools not only to heal themselves but to influence positive transformation in the lives of those around them.

Why I Believe in the Hippocrates Lifestyle

The focus on raw, nutrient-dense living foods and detoxification allows the body to heal itself and rejuvenate naturally. It’s an approach that is both preventative and curative, addressing the root causes of illness rather than simply managing the symptoms.

What makes this lifestyle powerful is its holistic nature. It recognizes that true health involves not just the body but also the mind and spirit. By addressing emotional wellness and fostering loving relationships and authentic connections, the Hippocrates lifestyle promotes a deep sense of peace and balance that complements the physical benefits of a plant-based, living foods diet. The power of the Hippocrates lifestyle is a journey of selfdiscovery and optimal wellbeing.

Personally, this philosophy has become a compass in my life—a commitment to wellness, vitality, and living in harmony with nature has given me the tools to not only transform my own health but also to inspire and work with others to do the same.

We Need to Be Committed

Commitment is often seen as a necessity to accomplish things we really don’t want to do. Nobody needs commitment to feel love for their kids, but it does take commitment to be consistent in their care.

Commitment is more than a feeling; it’s an attitude, plus an intention, plus an action. Commitment is the link between desire and manifestation.

Like a wedding vow that says “for better or for worse, in good times and bad, in sickness and in health,” a commitment is called for when choosing to live a healthy lifestyle or to recover from a disease. Why? Because we often just don’t want to do what it takes to keep eating healthy or to get well. Food is fun, and healthy food takes some effort, which may not be so much fun.

Here’s my answer to that: feeling good and being healthy are fun! And that makes the proper effort to get there worth it. We can either let some punitive “discipline” in the form of external rules guide our choices or let our deeper desire to just plain feel good inspire and motivate us. I’m saying you don’t have to be a drill sergeant or a saint to do the right thing. Just keep your eyes on the prize. Feeling good is fun. Being healthy and knowing how to get there is fun.

Immediate gratification at the expense of the big picture is the devil. It promises "feeling good," just not in the long run. Keep your eyes on the prize, and make choices from that bigger vision.

We are prone to choose the pleasant and not necessarily the good. Choosing the good over the pleasant takes some understanding, vigilance, and maybe even some wisdom.

Isn't it funny that when we see someone acting crazy, we say they need to be "committed"? And, of course, we mean put in an institution against their will, whether they want it or not. "It's for their own good." I think that's very funny because it fits with what I've just said about "good" commitment: it's bigger than what we want when we're wanting wrong things or making choices that are hurting ourselves. When we're crazy like that, we need to be committed. (Hah!)

On another note, in the '50s, "commitment" in a relationship meant "stay together no matter what," based on duty and obligation. I say that that's old-think. Commitment these days, or at least the way I'm using it, means keeping the quality of togetherness as high as possible, not just staying together no matter what.

Who wants to live in jail? I don't. I'd rather be beautiful than dutiful. That means I'm called on to live a big-picture life and no longer hide in the smallness of ignorance.

I know better, and I know you know better, too. I was born in the '50s, but I'm all grown up now. I make healthy choices because I want to and not because I have to.

It's time to grow up and take proper responsibility for important matters. Health matters. Nobody is your parents, not even your parents, because your wellbeing is solely up to you, no matter who is or isn't in your life and no matter what your circumstances.

Years ago, I traveled to Norway with my then-wife and stepson. I wanted to stay vegan on the trip and decided that I’d rather go hungry than not be vegan. Lo and behold, I got my wish. In the picturesque village of Å (look it up), I rejected the fresh catch from our fisherman host, drew the rolled eyes of my wife and stepson, and had nothing to eat. I don’t like being hungry, and I wasn’t a happy camper about it, but when I look back on it, I do so with pride because I stayed true to my commitment, even in the face of discomfort. I ate a lot of snow on that trip.

Ideally, commitment helps us draw a straight line from where we are to where we want to be and then helps

us follow that path. Distractions are full of empty promises and appeal to our lazy nature. That’s the devil. OK, nobody’s a saint, but what the devil can’t stand is commitment because it’s his undoing. Commitment is neither a saintly nor a dirty word; it’s just been both over-hyped or misunderstood and gotten a bad rap. I now associate commitment with keeping the destination or goal in mind. It’s my direct tool to keep me focused on my real desires, not the desires de jour or just of the moment. There is a pleasure beyond pleasure if you get what I’m saying.

Even though the Avoidance-of-Pain Principle is stronger than Freud’s Pleasure Principle, and even though we wrestle with both all the time, there is one thing that can help us navigate even stormy waters: commitment. Like the deep keel of a sailboat, commitment is the key to healthy living and healthy relationships.

Recovery from food addiction

“The root of suffering is attachment,” Gautam Buddha taught his followers. For many today, attachment to food brings profound suffering. This isn’t just about being overweight; it extends to numerous health issues linked to obesity and poor eating habits, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and even certain types of cancer (e.g., breast, colon, and endometrial). Conditions like osteoarthritis, gallbladder disease, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea, and metabolic syndrome are also often tied to excess weight and cardiovascular stress.

The Challenge of Gaining Freedom from Food Attachment

Recovering from food addiction is undoubtedly challenging. Unlike other addictions, we cannot abstain from food entirely, making it particularly hard to overcome. Nevertheless, guests' experiences at Hippocrates Wellness show that recovery is possible. Through the 21-day Life Transformation Program, individuals are empowered to adopt a balanced diet of natural, unprocessed foods, helping them avoid the addictive effects of processed foods. The program fosters not only dietary changes but also a shift in mindset, with emotional support from peers and staff and an emphasis on connecting with one's inner self.

Understanding Food Addiction

Food addiction is a behavioral struggle that often involves a compulsive need to consume specific foods— especially those high in sugar, salt, and fat—even in the absence of hunger. This challenge manifests as cravings, loss of control, over-eating, and continued consumption despite awareness of the negative consequences. Studies indicate that highly processed foods can activate the brain's reward system, leading to intense cravings.

Recognizing the Signs of Food Addiction

Possible signs of food addiction include craving specific foods despite feeling full, overeating, and experiencing guilt or shame after eating. Another red flag is prioritizing food over other activities or responsibilities. When these behaviors become patterns, it may indicate a deeper issue with food.

Strategies for Overcoming Food Addiction

1. Detoxification: Start by avoiding trigger foods, particularly fast foods and foods with processed sugars. While withdrawal symptoms may arise, detoxing can help initiate healthier eating behaviors.

2. Plant-Based Diet: A diet centered on whole foods— such as sprouts, vegetables, microgreens, whole grains, fruits, and nuts—promotes satiety and prevents blood sugar spikes that may fuel cravings.

3. Mindful Eating: By tuning into hunger and fullness cues, savoring each bite, and focusing on the meal itself without distractions, one can find greater satisfaction and reduce the risk of overeating.

4. Limiting Processed Foods: Processed foods are often designed to be addictive, so minimizing them can help break the cycle of craving and overconsumption.

5. Establishing Regular Mealtimes: Consistent meal routines can reduce food cravings and prevent impulsive eating.

6. Exploring Non-Food Rewards: Find enjoyment through non-food activities, such as exercise, games, reading, or hobbies, to help reduce cravings.

While overcoming alcohol addiction is about choosing abstinence, freedom from food addiction is more complex.

Common Treatment Options

Individual Therapy

Therapies like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are effective in managing addictions by shifting focus from immediate gratification to long-term wellbeing. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help individuals reframe negative thoughts—such as “I can’t change my habits; I’ve eaten this way since childhood”—to take control of their behaviors. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a form of CBT, helps those with intense emotional responses to interact more healthily with their surroundings, addressing the emotional ties to food.

Group Therapy

Support groups, such as the Healing Circle at Hippocrates, Overeaters Anonymous (OA), or Food Addicts Anonymous (which follows a 12-step program similar to AA), provide peer support, shared experiences, and accountability in personal choices.

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness practices enable individuals to recognize emotional triggers for eating and enjoying their food with awareness, slowing the eating process, and attuning to hunger and fullness cues to prevent overeating.

Medical Support

For food addictions linked to disorders like bulimia, binge eating, or anorexia, medical support may be crucial, particularly for managing cravings and compulsive behaviors.

It is not a cosmetic issue; it is a medical concern

Food addiction is a significant health challenge. Obesity is not merely a cosmetic issue: it is a medical concern that elevates the risk of various conditions, from heart disease and diabetes to sleep apnea and certain cancers. Breaking free from food addiction opens the door to better health and a more fulfilling life.

The Predimed 5-year study at The University of Navarra in Spain showed that consuming extra virgin olive oil reduced the risk of a heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death by 30%

Nuro-Size On Campus with Andreas Sjostrand

For nearly three generations, we have been pioneering the field of progressive health. Over time, by scrutinizing food, treatments, therapies, and human needs, we have slowly and confidently added effective offerings to our in-house and online programs. Although movement and exercise have always been an essential part of our needs and our teaching, we never found a process that could be universally embraced and massively effective in all cases until recently with Nuro-Size.

During his years of experience working with fitness in his home country and southern Europe, Andreas and exercise physiologists from Sweden effectively piece together subtle movements that powerfully ignite a connection between your brain, nervous system, and body. More than a year ago, in the preliminary stages of considering this to be part of a Hippocrates lifestyle, we tested it on people with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Within two weeks, the average improvement was 40%. Cognitive function, mobility, flexibility, and even strength were dynamically and dramatically enhanced. Even those of us who are committed to exercise and further professional athletes have all been pleasantly surprised at how this expands our body's ability to function smoothly at its maximum level. In the past, people spoke loosely about the bodymind connection.

Today, we have the tools to concretely connect this presently feebly dysfunctional physiological team. Fortunately, we can have Andreas Sjostrand as a guest this winter to facilitate classes and courses on this advanced movement process. His teaching skills are sophisticated without the gym mentality of no pain, no gain; actually, our mantra is "with pain, there's no gain". Nuro-Size is offered here consistently so that all guests can attend during our in-house programs. You can also embrace this at home or take it home after a stay with our online subscription. My newest book, Quantum Human, a step-by-step guide on living in the new era of consciousness,  expresses the significant importance of getting in touch with your whole self and how that self interacts with all else. The many healthy participants in Nuro-Size have all concluded that this lifts consciousness and lightens and loosens the body. For those who are aging, there's nothing more effective than maintaining mobility, since after the young age of 50, each and every year, we lose 1% under "normal" lifestyles. We hope that you will find time in your life to make your existence that much better by letting go and picking up movements that will keep you vital, young, sensual, aware,  and, most importantly, happy.

Artificial Intelligence will integrate Human experience.

Good Fortune had me sitting in Karolinska, the most advanced research medical school in all of Europe. Stockholm and Sweden's pride and joy invited Dr. Curtis P. Langlotz, MD, PhD from Stanford University, to calm the nerves of oncologists, radiologists, and radiological oncologists.

You could feel in the room that they were braced to be told that they were all about to lose their job since AI would be more effective. Dr. Curtis Langlotz calmed everyone's nerves by saying AI is brilliant and a great tool for those of us in oncological medicine. However, at this moment, there is still much that is lacking, and it requires our experience and input.

He mentioned a study that was carried out where a little under a hundred professionals used artificial intelligence to diagnose. They were pleasantly pleased to find out it cut the time down significantly, and the results were equal and potentially even better.

For those of you who do not understand this new technology, it is best explained by saying that every piece of research that's done everywhere on planet Earth, no matter what language it is conducted in, is fed into this mastermind international computer, deciphered and then put together in a form that can be usable by the total scientific and medical community.

Speaking to one of the former guests of Hippocrates, a professor teaching AI, he recently told me that presently, science is at about where Einstein was, times a thousand. Every day, this technology is improving, and as Brian Clement stated in his recent book "Quantum Human," it is now programming itself and removing the burden from humans to be the smartest ones in the room. It is now technology.

Dr. Langlotz explained that there was a ruling in the United States Congress called the 21st Century Cures Act that provides patients immediate access to their digital health

information, which makes it accessible not only for the patient's information but also when that individual goes to other healthcare professionals they can access and share it.

Most remarkably, AI can now answer the questions that doctors generally do not have time to answer since the patient load is overwhelming. Imagine a future where, together with computers, we will be able to be exceptionally aware and conscious of every potential and possible thing we can do to better the lives of our patients.

There were many questions from the health professionals in the room, some young, some well-seasoned, but I felt optimistic at the end of the lecture. Recognizing that time moves forward with or without us, we as scientists must embrace the current knowledge to be more proficient in what we have taken an oath to do. Medicine is revolutionizing itself and, I believe, improving a vast crosssection of ways.

At Hippocrates, we now have the top genetics lab available for our guests who want to delve deeply into their genes and learn what they can do to prolong their lives. We are also using and have been using the latest technologies that are moving from chemistry to energy. All of this will improve life for people who partake in current science since it is becoming less invasive, more accurate, and, most importantly, less problematic.

An older oncologist posted the last question. Dr. Langlotz was asked if AI would replace radiologists. He said, "No, but radiologists who use AI will replace radiologists who don't."

Amazing AFA!

DNA Sequencing Confirms Non-Toxic Subspecies of Aphanizomenon flos-aqua

We’re excited to share a groundbreaking scientific discovery!

Recent DNA sequencing confirms that our specific strain of AFA algae from Upper Klamath Lake is genetically distinct and 100% non-toxic. This breakthrough validates the safety and purity of our products, reinforcing their role in supporting your wellness with confidence.

Groundbreaking E3Live Science Breakthrough Confirms Non-Toxic Subspecies of Aphanizomenon flos-aquae from Upper Klamath Lake Klamath Falls, Oregon – September 25, 2024 – E3Live. The 30-year, world-renowned harvesters and manufacturers of nutrient-dense, wild-grown AFA blue-green algae supplements is excited to announce a significant scientific breakthrough, confirmed through DNA testing in conjunction with E3Live and SeqCoast Genomics, Portsmouth, NH, that unequivocally shows E3Live's Klamath AFA as a unique subspecies, separate and with distinct properties from the other AFA strains, formally and incorrectly grouped together as simply Aphanizomenon flos-aquae.

New Genome Sequencing Proves Species Differentiation

Advanced genomic analysis confirms that E3Live's AFA from Upper Klamath Lake is part of a genetically unique subspecies different from the few AFA strains reported to be toxin producers. Genome sequencing now recognizes at least 18 distinct varieties of AFA, each possessing unique characteristics that distinguish them from one another.

This finding brings clarity to years of misinterpretation of the scientific literature that often treated AFA as a homogeneous species.

Non-Toxic Strain from Upper Klamath Lake

Most significant in this discovery is the confirmation that AFA from Upper Klamath Lake—identified as AFA MDT14a—is incapable of producing harmful toxins such as cylindrospermopsin, microcystin, saxitoxin or anatoxin-a.

This finding directly challenges the general belief that all AFA species pose risks of toxicity, thus confirming the safety of consumable products derived from this particular strain.

These results align with the broader understanding, after decades of rigorous testing, that AFA from Klamath Lake is non-toxic.

Health Benefits of AFA

The health benefits of AFA consumption have been documented for more than two decades. AFA supports immune functions, more specifically, the activation and migration of NK cells. It contains phycocyanin, which has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory properties, and it contains phenylethylamine documented to support mental clarity and mood elevation.

AFA is also the first natural plant-based product documented to support stem cell mobilization and function in the body, explaining the broad spectrum of health benefits reported by consumers.

Updating AFA Studies Based on Genomic Differentiation

The recent genomic evidence distinguishing Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) strains compels a reexamination of many wrongful interpretations and confirms the safety of Klamath Lake AFA as a dietary supplement. This new differentiation between toxic and non-toxic strains highlights the need to be extremely cautious when reading previous interpretations of the scientific literature.

In line with scientific progress, previous literature must be reassessed to reflect this specificity, especially regarding nutritional and toxicological properties. Although AFA has been registered worldwide as a dietary supplement based on years of testing to establish its safety, this new finding will be a new tool for researchers, regulatory agencies, and public health officials to confirm the safety of AFA. “With over a million consumers who have eaten AFA over the past 40 years, we have always known that Klamath Lake AFA is extremely pure, safe, and beneficial, but this confirmation as a unique and distinct strain only strengthens our commitment to bringing AFA to the world,” said Scott Ohlgren, CEO of E3Live. “Our focus remains on being stewards of the surrounding ecosystem and harvesting, processing, and delivering pure, nutrient-rich AFA that promotes health and well-being, with the definitive genetic sequencing proof to prove it.”

Rumble with Recovery

My friend and orthopedic doctor sat with me in 1979, when I resided in Europe, and explained how a broken bone is now stronger than it was before the fracture. Since then, I have recognized that all valuable experience grows out of challenging pathways and not easy-meandering events. You must rumble with recovery so that the pain and suffering will inevitably bring permanent reminders that you do not want to experience the same disruptive ways that caused your disorder to begin with.

Simply put, nature will beat you up in the healing process so that you do not return for more punches. Somehow, a high percentage of the population feels "NO PAIN, NO GAIN." My renewed thought on this is that any pain is no permanent gain. This does not mean that life should not throw you challenges so that you jump over it, sneak under it, fist fight with it, but more so that you understand it to be an enhancer rather than degradation.

I was at Trader Joe's store buying organic lemons recently, and a woman I had not seen since 1976 walked in. She was a guest at Hippocrates at our original location in Boston, MA. She was now 98 years old but appeared like a 40-year-old with the energy of a 20-year-old and was a joy to spend a moment with.  The mere fact that a near-centenarian remembered me was in itself remarkable. She went on to remind me that she had arthritis and a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis that the top doctors from top institutions had concluded. After six months of maintaining the Hippocrates lifestyle, she was freely walking without the pain she had suffered for 20 years. Two years later, the experts told her that the plaque in her brain that they diagnosed the MS from was no longer there.

When I asked her, as I often do, why she thinks she was able to bring about her own recovery, she smiled and said, "There was so much more that I wanted to do; I could not give in at such an early age." Remember, she was in her 50s. I asked her if she had any regrets, and she said, "Yes, marrying my two deceased husbands who were unwilling to come along with me on my healthy lifestyle journey." She said that before marrying them, she made them promise, "I will live like you do; I do not want to be a burden to you." Well, like most men, they did not fulfill their obligation. "Between exercise, juicing, dancing, skiing, and loving life, I had to nurse these men due to their negative minds and horrible diets." I told her I had recently co-authored a book called, "How to Live to 120," and she chastised me by saying, "Why not longer?" The old adage that the student sometimes becomes the teacher's teacher holds true with this exceptional woman.

When I grow up, I hope I am like her at a century old and certainly decades later. There is a formula for acquiring a long life: living life in such a pleasurable way that you do not want it to end. Most people ask, "What's in it for me?" You have to evolve into asking, "What can I give to all?" Contribution multiplies the necessity for more time and is expansive. This is why, globally, many people in the audience I address when asked, "How many of you want to live a long life?" do not raise their hands. Knowing that you possess a certain attribute or gift that will enhance your and other's lives is the secret sauce to acquiring significant lifespans. If there is no reason for something, something is unnecessary.

Conversely, when there is a reason, you must be present to accomplish it. Essentially, this requires transparency and real expression, not some manufactured idea that is not heart-driven. Remarkably, each one of us can benefit fellow humans, the planet we reside on, and the creatures with whom we share the planet. Seldom has anyone encouraged us to pursue this wonderous highway to happiness.

When driven into the reptilian mindset of fear and survival, it is actually impossible to see the bright, promising light in front of us that drives us forward into abundance and contribution. At times, I sit and laugh at how most people perceive the horrors of their existence and only acknowledge the negative aspects of their perception. At the same moment, nature, the planet, the multiple universes, and all other sensible life forms are wallowing in a joyous sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. This, in and of itself, vividly exposes the two choices that all of us have. To see life as a burden and painful or to love life as a gift with gratitude.
