River Road, Bedford, 647-2253; pastry.net Originally established in 1980 by Frederick and Gloria Lozier in their Nashua garage, Frederick’s Pastries is now known for providing hundreds of custom cake options out of two full-service bakeries in Amherst and Bedford. The couple’s youngest daughter, Susan Lozier Robert, purchased the business from her parents in 2004 and continues to run today.

She’s perhaps best known for her always rotating selection of more than a dozen flavors of specialty cupcakes, including Oreo, chocolate chip cookie dough, red velvet, vanilla, Key lime pie and sugar cookie.

She now runs this full-service bakery with the help of her daughter Brianna, offering cakes in a variety of filling flavors, in addition to other treats like cookies, brownies and whoopie pies.

The Union Street storefront is now known as Bearded Baking Co. — Buatti has built upon the longtime success of the popular Queen City bakeshop and deli, offering custom cakes with many of his own sponge and buttercream recipes. In November and December 2020, Buatti was a featured contestant on Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship.
