The Bible The Wisdom of Yehovah 2019
This is a study of Proverbs 8:22-36 to see if this is Jesus, speaking through Solomon the son of King David. 1Corinthains 1:24 “…Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (30) ….Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom”
This is a study of Proverbs 8:22-36 to see if this is Jesus, speaking through Solomon the son of King David. If it is Jesus speaking through Solomon, what is Jesus talking about? Was Jesus brought forth from the Father before there was anything? Was the Word of God with God as God in the Creation of all things? Was there Two at creation? 1 Corinthians 1:24 KJV ….Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 KJV But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom….. Psalms 136:5 KJV …..that by wisdom made the heavens….. Jeremiah 10:12 KJV He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Proverbs 30:4 KJV Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Proverbs 8:22 “Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.” Proverbs 3:19 “Jehovah by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.” John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” 2
Colossians 1:15-17 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” John 5:26 “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;” Ephesians 3:9 “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:” Hebrews 12:23 “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn(G4416), which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,” G4416 – πρωτοτόκος - prōtotokos (pro-tot-ok'-os) From G4413 and the alternate of G5088; first born (usually as noun, literally or figuratively): - first begotten (-born). It was used by the KJV translation nine times. Matthew 1:25; Luke 2:7; Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:15, 18; Hebrews 1:6; 11:28; 12:23; Revelation 1:5. As you read the verses that contain the G4416 prōtotokos Greek word you will see that begotten and born are used interchangeable. If this is the case then in John 3:16 where it says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son” would mean that God had a born son to give. So God had a son before he sent him into the world, before he gave us his son his only born son of him. Hebrews 1:2-10 “Hath in these last days spoken unto us 3
by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds (the Father made the worlds by his son); (3) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (You see two on the throne in heaven, for Stephen saw this when he was stoned. Acts 7:56); (4) Being made so much better than the angels, as he (Jesus) hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they (angels). (5) For unto which of the angels said he (the Father) at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee (or you were born of me)? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (6) And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world (the expression of “when he bringeth” this means that he had a first born in order to bring him in), he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. (7) And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. (8) But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. (9) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God (The God of the Son is his Father), hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (10) And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: John 16:28 “I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. 4
What has been established with these verses? First we see Solomon tell us that Jehovah possessed the wisdom before anything was made. Proverbs 8:22 Good News "The LORD created me first of all, the first of his works, long ago. Proverbs 8:22 Jewish Publications Society The LORD made me as the beginning of His way, the first of His works of old. Proverbs 8:22 Tree of Life Version “Adonai brought me forth, the first of His way, before His works of old. Who is this wisdom of Jehovah? 1Corinthians 1:24, 30 say that Jesus the only begotten or born son of Jehovah is the wisdom of God. Also in Proverbs 3:19 it states that “Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth” In Colossians 2:2-3 we are told that all the wisdom of God the Father was hidden in his son. What are we told by the scriptures, who founded the earth? John 1:1-3, that it was Jesus. Now Jesus is the name given to the only begotten son of God when he came to this earth and Christ is not his last name but means “the Anointed One”. The people of God were looking for the Anointed One of God to come which they knew was his only begotten Son. This is why the high priest asked him if he was the Son of God the Christ in Matthew 26:63 and it can also be found John 6:69, John 20:31. We also find that they didn’t ask him if he was God but did ask if he was the Son of God. Matthew 11:2-3; Matthew 27:11; Mark 14:60-61; Mark 15:2; Luke 7:19; Luke22:67; Luke 22:70; Luke 23:3; John 1:21; John 18:33,37; John 19:9 It is interesting that they never asked if he was God? Why? Because they knew God the Father was not coming they knew that it was the only begotten or born Son of God that was coming. 5
Proverbs 8:23 KJV I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. Proverbs 8:23 (Young Literal Version) From the age I was anointed, from the first, From former states of the earth. John 1:41 KJV He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. John 1:41 YLT this one doth first find his own brother Simon, and saith to him, 'We have found the Messiah,' (which is, being interpreted, The Anointed,) When was he Anointed? From the beginning, from everlasting, before anything was created, the Son was with the Father. (Micah 5:1 KJV) Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. (Micah 5:4 KJV) And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD , in the majesty of the name of the Jehovah his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. (John 17:24 KJV) Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. John 17:5 KJV And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 1 John 1:1-2 KJV That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (2) (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) Compare to John 1:1,2 John 1:1-2 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. The writer of both books said that the Son was with the Father and then was manifested. This text John 1:1-3 is misunderstood and has been misused to support a teaching that totally opposes what the 7
text actually says. Let us examine the text briefly in the original Greek: en 1722 arch 746 hn 2258 2532 o 3588 logov 3056 In beginning Word

logov 3056 Word A very casual look at the original text tells us that the two words translated as “God” in that text are not identical. The first one is a noun (Yeon) referring to the Father, and the other is an adjective (Yeov) which refers to Jesus. You can tell the difference between the two by looking at the last letter of the two words. It is for this reason that many translations render the verse in a way that recognizes this fact. For example, translations by James Moffatt, Hugh J. Schonfield and Edgar Goodspeed render it: "...and the Word was divine." Other variations also exist. Today's English Version reads: "...and he was the same as God." The Revised English Bible reads: "...and what God was, the Word was.“ 8
As you can see, different translations give it a meaning in harmony with the original. Thus this text is telling us is that the Word, Christ, is divine just like the Father possessing the ‘God-nature’. It does not tell us that Christ is God the Father, one and the same person as in oneness understanding. It is also not saying that he is the supreme God like the trinity doctrine likes to use it. I would also like to bring out about the language of the Greek here that the word τονG3588 θεονG2316 Which would mean the supreme Divinity because it has the article ho, hay or to in front of it giving it the understanding of “the Supreme Divinity” as according to the Strong’s Concordance. Of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively a magistrate; by Hebraism very: - X exceeding, God, god [-ly, -ward]. Now as in the second time the word God is used it is not the same as the first and does not have this definite article so it is not saying the word is the Supreme but it is divinity but it is not supreme. In understanding this language as to what is portrayed we can have a better understanding of why it is not teaching a trinity God or that Jesus is the supreme God but is Divine like the Father who is the Supreme Elohim. For the Word was with the Supreme Divinity his Father, but the Word was not the Supreme Divinity but with Him. In no way shape or form was John saying that Jesus was the Supreme Divinity for he knew that Jesus was the Son of the Supreme Divinity as he says many, many times in the scriptures. He was with his Father before all things were created, so before any 9
creation happened the Son of the Supreme Divinity was begotten or born of the Father and then creation happened. Before that there was no creation, so the Son of the Supreme Divinity could not have been created. However, the question that we need to address is “what beginning is this text talking about?” Was this the beginning of earth? Was it the beginning of creation? The answer is No. The reason being that creation is not mentioned in the verse at all. That comes in v.3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” Thus, if all things were made by him (Christ the Word) then the beginning in v.1 must be before creation. Our parallel text is found in Proverbs 8: 22-30. This passage is divided in 2 parts. The first part talks about the birth of Christ in heaven before anything was created. While the second part tells us who was with God during the creation of all things. Christ was possessed/set up/brought forth in the beginning of God’s ways. Colossians 1:15 puts it this way “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:” This beginning was “before his works of old”, before “the earth was”, “when there was no depths”, “when there were no fountains”, “before the mountains were settled, before the hills”, “While as yet he had not made the earth…etc” Christ is saying that He was brought forth in the beginning before these creative acts. The second part of the passage in Proverbs 8 says: “When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established 10
the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;” v.27-30 This section tells us that Christ, the Word, was with God during the creation. The RSV renders v.30 this way “then I was beside him, like a master workman; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always,” which brings out the point that Jesus was a workman in the creation of the world, or as John 1:3 puts it “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” Colossians 1: 16, 17 says the same thing “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist” Here are the three references side by side: Colossians 1: 15; Proverbs 8:22-23 and John 1:1 Jehovah possessed me (the Son) in the beginning of his way, Proverbs 8:22 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (Supreme Divinity) John 1:1 Who is the image of the invisible God. Colossians 1:15
I was set up (means Anointed) from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. Proverbs 8:23 11
and the Word was God (meaning divinity adjective not a noun, it is describing not naming something) . John 1:1 the firstborn of every creature: Colossians 1:15 There is also the text of Proverbs 30:4 which tells us there was two at creation just like all the other verses tell us that there was two at creation. The Father and Son are one in spirit, they share the same life, as John tells us in 5:26 that the life the Father has he gave it to the Son. John also tells us that he gave the Son his spirit without measure John 3:34. John also records for us that the Father was in his Son and the Son was in the Father, which is explained later. Let us move on to Genesis 1:26 KJV “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Who was Jehovah speaking too? Jehovah was speaking and if the son was in him or was him how could he be speaking to him? The person that God was speaking to was in the likeness of Jehovah, meaning he was of the same nature and form. Which we are only told of one being in all the scriptures as being in the form of Jehovah the Father and that is His Son. Proverbs 8:24-31 KJV When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. (25) Before the mountains were settled, 12
before the hills was I brought forth: (26) While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. (27) When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: (28) When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: (29) When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: (30) Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; (31) Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. Psalms 2:7 KJV I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Hebrews 1:5-6 KJV For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (6) And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten (G4416) into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. Hebrews 12:23 “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn(G4416), which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,” G4416 – πρωτοτόκος - prōtotokos (pro-tot-ok'-os) From G4413 and the alternate of G5088; first born (usually as noun, literally or figuratively): - firstbegotten (-born). It was used by the KJV translation nine times. 13
Matthew 1:25; Luke 2:7; Romans 8:29; Colossians 1:15,18; Hebrews 1:6; 11:28; 12:23; Revelation 1:5. John 1:14 KJV And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. We understand that the term “the Word means it is the Son of God correct? Then could you not understand the verse to mean that the Son of God became or manifested as the son of man or the son of flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, which he had before the world was John 17:24, and this glory is because he is the only born son of the Father making him Deity? Then the Father sent his Son into the world to save us? John 3:13 KJV And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. John 3:14 KJV And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:18 KJV He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. There are many things in these verses, one there are two terms being used in these verses, Son of Man and Son of God. When did he become the Son of God? Before anything was he was born of God. When did he become 14
the Son of Man or flesh? When he was born of man. The son of Man had to be lifted up, the Son of God could not be lifted up for it would not have been the sacrifice to fulfill the purpose for us. He could not die as the Son of God for he is immortal, but coming as the son of man he became death to set us free from death. Also remember that in John 3:16 it says that God (the Father) sent his only born Son. He had to have had a Son in order to send a Son. John 5:19-21 KJV Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (20) For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. (21) For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. Jesus learned everything from the Father, his God. John 5:26 KJV For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; Did the Son have life in himself without the Father? the Father has immortality, did he give the Son immortality? Yes, but the Son could not have it without the Father. Did Jesus have immortality here on earth? NO, for he was the Son of man, flesh, sinful flesh, he was not sinful but he had our sinful flesh, he was made sin who knew no sin.
15
John 13:3 KJV Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; 1 John 4:9-10 KJV In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. (10) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Joh 16:25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: Joh 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. Joh 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. Joh 16:29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Joh 16:30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. We can see from the verses that John was speaking about two people, distinct from each other. There is the Father
16
and there is the Son, because Jesus came forth from the father and came into this world. Proverbs 30:4 KJV Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? Genesis 32:22-30 KJV And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. (23) And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. (24) And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. (25) And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. (26) And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. (27) And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. (28) And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. (29) And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. (30) And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. It is interesting to find that the Angel of God was wrestling with Jacob and then he says “I have seen God face to face.

Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Zechariah 6:12-13 KJV And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD : (13) Even he shall build the temple of the LORD ; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. In these two verses we find that Jesus is called many things, but look at the end of verse 13 of Zechariah, “the counsel of peace shall be between them Both”. Who is this Both? The father and the Son. Psalms 33:6 KJV By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. Can also be translated if you know what the symbolism is “By the Son of Jehovah were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the spirit of the Father and Son.”

Genesis 1:2 KJV And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit (H7307 breath) of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 6:3 KJV And the LORD said, My spirit (H7307 breath) shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. John 1:18 KJV No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. Matthew 11:27 KJV All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. John 17:1-5 KJV These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: (2) As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. (3) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (4) I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. (5) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. This is a prayer that Jesus was praying to his Father, now if God was manifested as Jesus on earth who is in Heaven? As the scriptures say the Father was in heaven still upon the throne. Jesus was praying to him and said something very important, that it will even affect your 19
eternal life. That you know who the Father is and Jesus the only begotten Son of God is. This is life eternal that you know them both as in Zechariah says the counsel of Peace shall be between them both. Colossians 1:13 KJV Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Will that Father and Son rule throughout eternity? Revelation 21:22-23 KJV And I saw no temple therein: for 1the LORD God Almighty and 2the Lamb are the temple of it. (23) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Revelation 22:1 KJV And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of 1God and of the 2Lamb. Revelation 22:3 KJV And there shall be no more curse: but the 1throne of God and of 2the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: Revelation 7:15-17 KJV Therefore are they 1before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. (16) They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. (17) 2 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Now let us look at the Old Testament and see if there are two in the Old as in the New. 20
Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith (1) the LORD , and (2) thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Psalms 89:18 For (1) the LORD is our defence; and the (2) Holy One of Israel is our king. Isaiah 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken (1) the LORD , they have provoked the (2) Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Isaiah 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of (1) the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the (2) Holy One of Israel . Isaiah 29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in (1) the LORD , and the poor among men shall rejoice in the (2) Holy One of Israel . Isaiah 30:29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of (1) the LORD , to the (2) mighty One of Israel. Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the (2) Holy One of Israel , neither seek (1) the LORD! Isaiah 41:16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou 21
shalt rejoice in (1) the LORD , and shalt glory in the (2) Holy One of Israel . Isaiah 41:20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of (1) the LORD hath done this, and the (2) Holy One of Israel hath created it. Isaiah 49:7 Thus saith (1) the LORD , the Redeemer of Israel, (2) and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of (1) the LORD that is faithful, and the (2) Holy One of Israel , and he shall choose thee. Isaiah 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; (1) the LORD of hosts is his name; and (2)thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel ; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Isaiah 55:5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of (1) the LORD thy God, and for the (2) Holy One of Israel ; for he hath glorified thee. Isaiah 60:9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of (1) the LORD thy God, and to the (2) Holy One of Israel , because he hath glorified thee. Isaiah 60:14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and
22
they shall call thee, The city of (1) the LORD , The Zion of the (2) Holy One of Israel . Zechariah 6:12-13 KJV And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh (1) the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is (2) The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and (2) he shall build the temple of (1) the LORD : 13 Even (2) he shall build the temple of (1) the LORD ; and (2) he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon (2) his throne; and (2) he shall be a priest upon (2) his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. John 14:23 KJV Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we (Yahweh and Yahshua) will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Do you agree that there is One God and that is the Father Jehovah? Yes No Do you agree that the Father has a Son that is eternal like him that was brought forth from him before anything was created? Yes No Why is the son eternal and was there something given to the Son to make him eternal? John5:26. What was the purpose that he was sent to us? to teach us about the Father. What is eternal life? “This is life eternal that they might know thee, the only true God John 17:3. The Father and Son are one John 10:30 and John 17:22. We worship the Father and Son only John 5:23. You will 23
never find a verse in the scriptures that say we worship the spirit. Why not? If Jehovah is manifested as the spirit as God the Holy spirit then why do you not worship him? And if you do what scripture have you for doing so? Revelation 19:1-5 KJV And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: (2) For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. (3) And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. (4) And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. (5) And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. Who sits on the throne with God? Revelation 3:21 KJV To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Whose voice is then heard from the throne saying “let us worship our God”? Jesus is on the throne with his Father, this is the voice that comes from the throne for even Jesus the only born son of Jehovah worships him. For all things have come from the Father “Ephesians 4:6 KJV One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” “1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all 24
things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” “Romans 11:36 KJV For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.” What is the First and Greatest Commandment? Deuteronomy 6:4-5 KJV Hear, O Israel: The LORD H3068 our God is one LORDH3068: (5) And thou shalt love the LORDH3068 thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. H3068 = ה ָמֹהצמ- yehôvâh (yeh-ho-vaw') From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050, H3069. Total KJV occurrences: 6521 Lord is not his name, his name is Yehovah, the Bible translates for some reason, they decided to say Lord instead of Yehovah and in doing so people have lost the understanding that Lord is not his name it is Yehovah, and Yehovah is the name of the Father, which the son is also called by that name on occasions as well because he has inherited it from his Father. But there is only one Yehovah. Now the Son is Elohim because he was born of Elohim. Just like you are human because you were born from a human, the Son is divine because he was born of a divine being. So let’s compare Deuteronomy 6:4 to 1Corinthians 8:6 Deuteronomy 6:4-5 KJV Hear, O Israel: Yehovah our God is one Yehovah: (5) And thou shalt love Yehovah thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 25
1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV But to us there is but one God (Elohim), the Father (Yehovah), of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Now “Lord” here is G2962 κύριος = kurios (koo'-ree-os) from κῦρος kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, that is, (as noun) controller; by implication Mr. (as a respectful title): - God, Lord, master, Sir. Was not Jesus given all Authority, did not Christ say this? Daniel 7:13-14; Psalms 2:6-9, Psalms 89:19, Psalms 89:27, Psalms 110:1-2; Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 28:18; Matthew 11:27, Matthew 16:28; Luke 1:32-33, Luke 10:22; John 3:35, John 5:22-27, John 13:3, John 17:2; Acts 2:36, Acts 10:36, 42, Acts 17:31; Romans 14:9; 1Corinthians 15:25-27; Philippians 2:7-11; Ephesians 1:20-22; Philippians 2:9-11; Colossians 1:16-19; Hebrews 1:2, Hebrews 2:7-9; 1Peter 3:22; Revelation 11:15, Revelation 17:14, Revelation 19:16
Let us also look at what Stephen saw when he was being stoned by the Pharisees. Acts 7:56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. I must ask the question, how can the Son be God (Jehovah) if he is standing next to Jehovah? Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him (the Son), to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he (the Son) sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 26
God the Father gave his Son a revelation or information of who the Son is, what he is doing, and what will be the signs of his coming and so on, then Jesus gave it unto his angel Gabriel to give it unto his servant John. Now if they are one in being, as the Father is a manifestation of God, then the Son is a manifestation of God and then the spirit is a manifestation of the God. Would that make them all God? Yes, then would it not be the same as saying God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit as the Trinity Doctrine says? Is it not the same as saying three persons in one God, as the Trinity Doctrine says? Yes, but this is not what is found in scripture taught by the apostles, 1Corinthians 8:6 “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” What about the verses that say “I and my Father are one” or “if you have seen me you have seen the Father”? John 10:30 KJV “I and my Father are one.” If you look at the context of what Jesus is saying here in John 10 is that he does the purpose or will of God, his Father. Read verse 25 and you will see that he says I do the works of my Father in his name or authority. Then when you look at John 14:9-11 you will see why he can say if you have seen me you have seen the father. KJV “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (10) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (11) Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.” 27
What is the scriptures say? Are they saying Yahweh the Father is in Jesus and Jesus is in Yahweh the Father that is why if you have seen the Son you have seen Yahweh the Father? It is the same with us, the Son of God lives in us. If someone is looking at you, they should not see you but the Son of God. As it is our hope and glory to have the Son in us. Colossians 1:27 KJV “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 3:11 KJV Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. One more question for thought. If Jesus and God are one as in they are the same entity then how could Jesus have died for our sins? God cannot die, the universe would cease to exist. Then if it was only the flesh that died on the cross then we also have a problem because you are left with only a human sacrifice. The same question goes for those that believe in the Trinity doctrine. It is taught that “God” is made up of “three persons” to make the “one being”. So if one of the “persons” dies then the one “being” no longer exists. Matthew 27:50 KJV “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.” Now if Christ died on the cross God no longer existed! This is the problem with the Trinity and oneness doctrine. But if we understand the scriptures and take them for what they say, we would understand that God sent his only begotten Son and he died and that God the Father continued to live. The son died, a divine being, not the Supreme Being, but a divine Son, we then had a divine sacrifice “Elohim with us” which is the meaning of Immanuel. Now if you believe in the trinity or oneness doctrine you would have a human sacrifice and your sins 28
would not be forgiven you. Why? Because you do not have divine blood covering your sins, because God cannot die, so if Jesus is the supreme God and died, then God died which goes against the scriptures because it says he alone has immortality (1 Timothy 6:16).
So who raised Jesus up after his death? Consider the following scriptures; Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Acts 3:15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Acts 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Acts 10:40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead 29
by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 1Corinthians 15:15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) Colossians 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. Here we see that there are 2 beings involved. Jesus Christ whom completely died on the cross and God the Father whom raised his son from the dead.
The Present Truth, Proverbs 8 and the Word of God Published on October 24, 1895 By: Elliot J. Waggoner In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. John 1:1-3. Who Is He?-That this Word means Christ, there is no room for doubt. The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the 30
Father), full of grace and truth. Verse 14. Again, John writes of the Word of life, Which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled. 1 John 1:1. And when the same writer saw a vision of Christ, the Faithful and True (see Revelation 1:5; 3:14), the King of kings and Lord of lords, coming to judge the world in righteousness, he saw Him as The Word of God. Revelation 19:11-16. The One of whom we are reading, therefore, is the One who dwelt on earth in the flesh as Jesus of Nazareth. In the Beginning. -The Word, the only begotten Son of God, was in the beginning. When was that?-It cannot be located. Let the mind run back to the beginning when God created the heavens and earth, and there we see Him. Just before His crucifixion Jesus prayed, And now, O Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine own self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was. John 17:5. If we could find the beginning of all created things, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, we should still see that He is before all things. Colossians 1:16, 17. Yes, He Himself is the beginning of the creation of God. Revelation 3:14. Finite minds can never span the space between the beginning when the Word was with God, and the present time; His goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting, even from the days of eternity. Micah 5:2, and margin. He is from everlasting to everlasting. The Word of Wisdom.-Jesus Christ is the One in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2, 3. He is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Verse 22. The Hebrew word here rendered possess, is the same as that rendered gotten in Genesis 4:1, where we read that Eve said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. Christ is the only begotten Son of God. In Proverbs 8:22 there is no preposition in the original, so that a more proper rendering of the verse would be, The Lord possessed Me, the beginning of His way, before His works of old. This is indicated in the margin of the 31
Revised Version. Christ was not only in the beginning, but He is the beginning, (Colossians 1:18) even the beginning of the way of the Father. Without Him there was nothing. The Word Was God. -Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:4. The Son must inherit the name and titles and estate of the Father. Whatever titles belong to God the Father belong equally to Christ. They are His by right. By birth He is heir of all things. The Apostle Paul writes of the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13. The Father Himself addresses the Son as God, saying to Him, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever. Hebrews 1:8. The Word and the Thought.-A word is not merely a sound; it is a thing. The ancient Hebrews had but one term for both word and thing. So in the Hebrew Bible the word which is rendered word is the same that is rendered thing. A word is the expression of a thought or an idea. The Word of God is the expression of the thought of God. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him. John 1:18. Christ is the expression of God’s thoughts to man; and since the thoughts of God toward us are thoughts of peace, and not of evil (Jeremiah 19:11), Christ came and preached peace. Ephesians 2:17. Why is it that men do not understand God, but think of Him as stern and hard?-Simply because they do not know Christ. It is impossible for anyone to know and believe in the one true God, without knowing Jesus Christ, for no man knoweth the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him. Matthew 11:27. The Word Spoken.-No prophecy ever came by the will of man; but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21. But it was the Spirit of Christ in the prophets. 1 Peter 1:11. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable. 2 Timothy 3:16. An inspiration is a breath. 32
Inspiration of God means the breath of God. Scripture inspired of God, is Scripture breathed of God. Thus we read, By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. Psalm 33:6. The Scriptures the Word of God.-Since the Scriptures are God-breathed, they are the Word of God. This is what they claim to be. To Jeremiah the Lord said, Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth. Jeremiah 1:9. God said, He that hath My word, let him speak My word faithfully. Jeremiah 23:28. To Ezekiel He said, Thou shalt speak My words unto them. Ezekiel 2:7. Again, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with My words unto them. Ezekiel 3:4. And over and over we find this statement in the prophets, The word of the Lord came unto me; The word which the Lord spake by this or that one. David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, said, The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and His word was in my tongue. 2 Samuel 23:2. Paul thanked God that the Thessalonian brethren received the word which he spoke to them, not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God. 2 Thessalonians 2:13. Again he wrote, if any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14:37. David said to the Lord, Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105. Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee. Verse 11. But time and space would fail to repeat all the instances in which the Holy Scriptures are declared to be the Word of God. That is the claim that they make for themselves. Just as surely as they are true, so surely are they the Word of God. Christ and the Written Word.-Some people imagine that to call the Scriptures the Word of God is derogatory to Christ. They think that since He is the Word of God, the Scriptures cannot be. They forget that that is the very reason why they are God’s Word. Through the Scriptures, which we can see, we become acquainted with Christ, whom we cannot see. The 33
unity of Christ and the written word may be learned by comparing Deuteronomy 30:11-14 with Romans 10:4-8. We cannot take space to quote them in full, but you can read and compare them for yourselves. The commandment, we are told, is not hidden, nor far off. It is not in heaven, that we should say, Who will go up and bring it to us? nor is it in the deep, that we need to bring it up. The Apostle Paul uses this same scripture, only inserting Christ in the place of commandment. When Moses said that it was not necessary to go up to heaven to bring the commandment down, it was the same as though he had said that we need not go up to bring Christ down. He has come, and He is risen,-the Word of life,-and the words which He speaks are spirit and life. John 6:63. Whoever reads the words of the apostles and prophets as the Word of God, finds Christ. The Creative Word.-All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. The Norwegian translation expresses the emphatic declaration of the original: Without it [that is, the Word] is not even a single thing made. For in Him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things have been created through Him, and unto Him; and He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Colossians 1:16, 17, R.V. And yet there are people who deny that the Son had an existence before He was born a baby in Bethlehem! To deny that is the same as to deny His present existence. Creation by Wisdom.-The Father, addressing the Son, says, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of Thy hands. Hebrews 1:10. God made the worlds by Him. Hebrews 1:2. We have already seen that Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Now read, The Lord is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting King; ... He hath made the earth by His power, He hath established the world by His wisdom. Jeremiah 10:10-12. And then read again the words of wisdom, 34
When He gave to the sea its bound, that the waters should not transgress His commandment; when He marked out the foundations of the earth; then I was by Him as a Master Workman. Proverbs 8:29, 30, R.V. The common version has it, as one brought up with Him, which is also the truth. The same was in the beginning of His way. He was the beginning of His way. He was the Architect, the Master Workman, without whom nothing was made. The Power of God to Salvation.-It is not as a matter of mere curiosity that the Scriptures set Christ before us as the power of God,-the One to whom creation owes its existence. It is that we may know His power to save us from sin. The Word of truth is the Gospel of our salvation. Ephesians 1:13. The eternal power of God is seen in the things that are made. Romans 1:20. But the cross of Christ is also the power of God to them who are saved by it. 1 Corinthians 1:18. There is the manifestation of one power by which all things were created and still exist. We have redemption, even the forgiveness of our sins, through the blood of Christ, who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation; for in Him were all things created. Colossians 1:14-16. Christ is Redeemer because He is Creator; the power by which He redeems is the very same power by which He creates. The Word of Peace.-Christ is the Word of the God of peace. So He is our peace. Ephesians 2:14. When He came to earth, He came speaking the words of God, who said to Moses, I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put My words in His mouth. Deuteronomy 18:18. So He came preaching peace. That was the word that He spoke when the storm was raging on the Sea of Galilee. He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39. The winds and the waves recognized the word of the Creator. Power over the elements,-creative power,-was manifested in that word peace. It is the same word which by the Gospel is preached unto us; for Christ says, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. John 14:27. These things 35
have I spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace, in the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33. The peace of God rules in our hearts only when the word of Christ dwells in us richly in all wisdom. Colossians 3:15, 16. It is the word that creates, because in Him we have peace, and if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17. Rest and Peace.-Come unto Me all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, says the Saviour. Matthew 11:28. Both peace and rest are found in Him, because in Him were all things created. The firmer our foundation, the more securely we can rest. We rest upon the word of God, and find perfect rest there, because it is the word that created all things. In six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. Exodus 31:17. He rested upon His own word, which is living and active, and which continued to uphold that which was created. The seventh day, therefore-the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, -is the rest of God. It is the rest which Christ gives to us; for since Christ created all things it was He who at the close of the six days’ work rested on the seventh day. The seventh day is emphatically the Lord’s day,-the pledge of the rest that Jesus gives; and our acceptance of it in spirit and in truth is the sign of our accepting the rest that He offers us. Sanctification by the Word.-The Saviour prayed, Sanctify them through Thy truth; Thy word is truth. John 17:17. That is the word of Christ, the word by which all things were created. He Himself is the Truth (John 14:6), and He of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30. Now hear what the Lord says of His people who had forsaken Him: I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. Ezekiel 20:12. God has made Christ sanctification to us, and He has given us the Sabbath in order that we may know that He does sanctify us; therefore it follows that our highest knowledge of God in 36
Christ is found in the Sabbath, to know that God has given the Sabbath, and then to reject it, is to reject complete sanctification. Perfection and Growth.-Consider this point further. At the close of each day of creation, God saw that it was good. Everything was perfect as He went along. But suppose He had stopped at any point of time before the Sabbath, and done no more; what would have been the result?-Evidently an imperfect, unfinished creation. The Sabbath was the crown, the mark of a perfect and complete creation, so with men. They may have come to Christ, to learn of Him. They may have made great progress in His school. It is all good. Sanctification is through obedience, through the Spirit, and if they are mindful of all that He shows them, they are as perfect through the little that they know as if they had known everything. But suppose the Sabbath, as the truth is in Jesus, is made known to them, and they reject it. They then stop short in their growth and are imperfect, no matter how excellent they may have been. The saints of God are the planting of the Lord that they might be called trees of righteousness; but the tree that stops growing is dead. Knowing God.-This is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent. John 17:3. But we do not know God unless we know Him as Creator, and we cannot know Him at all except as we learn of Him in Christ, by whom all things were created. It is a terrible error to deny the existence of Christ before He came to this earth in the flesh; but the only evidence of His pre-existence is the fact that He created all things. To deny Him as Creator, is to deny His existence at all. To neglect to honour Him as Creator, is to neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord. And we cannot honour Him as Creator unless we accept without questioning the word which tells us about His creation work, and of the rest that follows. And the only way to know this indeed is to share that rest with Him, as we read again, Hallow My Sabbaths, and 37
they shall be a sign between Me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God. Ezekiel 20:12. Let us then go on unto perfection, finding in Christ sanctification and redemption according to the measure of His power as Creator, and rejoicing in the Sabbath, the sign which He has given us of creation perfect and complete.
