衷心祝賀香港藝術節今年邁向第4 7屆。今屆藝 術節陣容鼎盛,共有超過1700名來自香港和世 界各地的藝術家傾力演出,為觀眾帶來近1 7 0 場精彩表演。 今年藝術節的節目多姿多彩,當代及古典音 樂、舞蹈、戲劇等不同形式的藝術表演共冶一 爐。每個節目從幕後製作到台前演出,均盡顯 精湛的藝術造詣和超凡的想像力。 我很高興知道最近完成活化的中區警署建築 群,即現在的大館古蹟及藝術館,會在兩個周 末呈獻約5 0場舞蹈表演,供公眾免費入場觀 賞。大家更有機會一起參與在大館的檢閱廣 場、監獄操場,甚至是監獄囚室進行的表演節 目。牛棚藝術村亦會打造為藝術共生創造社, 首度成為藝術節發展作品的平台,場內設有不 同創意領域的工作坊,觀眾並可以欣賞一些創 作中的作品,感受藝術家的多元創意。 除了精彩表演,藝術節亦一如以往,悉心籌備 各項教育和外展活動,致力培育本地藝術人 才。「香港藝術節青少年之友」計劃讓本地學 生有機會觀賞世界級的表演和參與各式各樣的 藝術活動。此外,藝術節亦透過後台參觀和大 師班等「加料節目」,讓觀眾與國際頂尖藝術 家互動接觸,了解節目的幕後製作過程。 衷心感謝香港藝術節團隊一直致力推動本港的 藝術發展,成績斐然。我亦感謝贊助商和捐款 者的大力支持,令每年的藝術節圓滿成功,大 獲好評。 謹祝二零一九年香港藝術節所有觀眾、參加者 和表演者可以盡情享受這次藝術之旅,留下愉 快難忘的回憶。

I am pleased to congratulate the Hong Kong Arts Festival, which turns 47 this year in grand fashion, with nearly 170 performances featuring more than 1,700 artists from Hong Kong and all over the world. This year, the Festival showcases a dazzling range of classic and contemporary music, dance, theatre and more, each produced, staged and performed with consummate artistry and imagination. I am also delighted to note that our newly revitalised Central Police Station Compound, now Tai Kwun, Centre for Heritage and Arts, is the venue for some 50 free dance performances over the course of two weekends. I am told that audiences will also have the opportunity to participate in the performances taking place at Tai Kwun’s Parade Ground, Prison Yard and even its prison cell blocks. For the first time, the Arts Festival will turn Cattle Depot Artist Village into a Creative Hub for showcasing workshops and works in progress from a variety of creative disciplines. Beyond its captivating performances, the Festival remains committed to its educational activities, outreach and development of local artists. The Young Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Festival enables local students to enjoy world-class performances and participate in a range of arts activities, while PLUS programmes bring audiences behind the scenes with some of the world’s greatest artists through backstage tours, masterclasses and more. I am grateful to the Hong Kong Arts Festival team for its continuing commitment and manifold contributions to the development of the arts in Hong Kong. HKAF, launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting leading local and international artists in all genres of the performing arts as well as a diverse range of “PLUS” and educational events in February and March each year. HKAF is a non-profit organisation. Secured government baseline funding represents about 13% of the 2019 Festival’s HK$136 million budget, with another nearly 6% specially provided by the Government as time-limited additional funding for five years. Around 28% of the Festival’s income needs to come from the box office, and over 33% from sponsorship and donations made by corporations, individuals, and charitable foundations. It is anticipated that the remaining 20% will come from other revenue sources including the Government’s matching scheme, which matches income generated through private sector sponsorship and donations. • Large-scale special events: World of WearableArt, Zingaro • Outdoor events: Power Plant, Super Pool, Chorus HKAF actively collaborates with Hong Kong’s own creative talent and showcases emerging local artists. Over the years, HKAF has commissioned and produced over 200 local productions across genres including theatre, chamber opera, music and contemporary dance, many with successful subsequent runs in Hong Kong and overseas. Recent HKAF productions include the Cantonese Opera - Pavilion of a Hundred Flowers, A Floating Family–A Trilogy, Hong Kong Odyssey, Chinese Lesson, Danz Up, Datong–The Chinese Utopia, The Amahs, Blast, Wild Boar and Murder in San Jose, to name a few. HKAF frequently partners with renowned international artists and institutions to produce exceptional works, such as Der Fensterputzer (The Window Washer) co-produced by HKAF, Goethe-Institut Hong Kong and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Richard III and The Tempest produced by The Old Vic, BAM and Neal Street under “The Bridge Project” with HKAF as a co-commissioning institution, Green Snake cocommissioned with Shanghai International Arts Festival, and Dream of the Red Chamber co-produced with San Francisco Opera. HKAF invests heavily in arts education for young people. Over the past 27 years, our “Young Friends” scheme has reached over 750,000 local secondary and tertiary school students. A variety of arts education projects serving primary, secondary, and tertiary school students have been launched in recent years, featuring activities such as student showcases, pre-performance talks, open rehearsals, opportunities to attend Festival performances, as well as in-school workshops and lecture demonstrations led by international and local artists. Donations to the “Student Ticket Scheme” also make available approximately 10,000 half-price student tickets each year. HKAF organises a diverse range of “Festival PLUS” activities in community locations each year to enhance engagement between artists and audiences. These include films, lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops, symposia, backstage visits, exhibitions, meet-the-artist sessions, and guided cultural tours.

亞太舞蹈平台(第十一屆)

Asia Pacific Dance Platform XI 亞太舞蹈平台由香港藝術節於 2009 年首 辦,以緊貼亞太地區當代舞的發展現況。過 去十屆亞太舞蹈平台的節目多樣創新,涵蓋 了不同風格和面向的作品,致力探索當代舞 的無限可能性。平台過去呈獻超過三十套來 自十五個地區的作品,其中包括六個世界首 演。 首三屆亞太舞蹈平台是香港本地編舞發表作 品的重要場合。自第四屆起,平台的重心轉 移到亞太地區當代舞作品。本地編舞的作品 則移師至 2012 年成立的香港賽馬會當代舞 蹈平台演出。這兩個平台體現了香港藝術節 對當代舞發展的支持和視野。 第十一屆亞太舞蹈平台為觀眾帶來兩套作 品,以截然不同的方式思索相同的主題:在 愈趨跨文化和數碼時代中人與物之間的關 係。《黃翊與庫卡》由活躍於歐洲和台灣舞 台的黃翊創作,編舞家與線條流暢的工業機 械人,在舞台上展開一段以孤獨、關係為題 的憂鬱對話。另一方面,《由削木開始》則 呈現與科技相對的傾向,作品由扎根於德國 及印尼的編舞凱蒂亞.恩格創作,取材自印 尼村莊及傳統面具雕刻師的工作室錄音,思 考工作與存在本質的哲學問題。 兩部作品均透過形體語言,展現舞者與物件 之間的親密對話,從而模糊了人與物的界線 ─在各自的形式中,他們都是面具,並透 過探究數碼世界中人與物的節奏和紋理,啟 發有趣的討論。

Initiated by the HKAF in 2009, the Asia Pacific Dance Platform (APDP) brings together the latest developments in contemporary dance in the Asia Pacific region. The past ten editions have covered diverse and innovative repertoire across a range of styles and thematic materials, exploring the unlimited possibilities of contemporary dance in over 30 dance pieces from 15 locations, including six world premieres. The first three APDP editions were HKAF’s main platform for local dance works. From the fourth edition onward, its core focus shifted to the wider region; local choreographers instead became the focus of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series, launched in 2012. Both platforms represent HKAF’s support and vision for the development of contemporary dance. This eleventh edition brings audiences two works vastly different in approach that contemplate the relationship between human and object in an increasingly transcultural and digital era. HUANG YI & KUKA sees choreographer Huang Yi—active in both Europe and Taiwan—locked in a melancholic conversation on solitude and companionship with a sleek, industrial-grade robot. On the opposite end of the technological spectrum, Germany- and Indonesia-based choreographer Katia Engel’s philosophical enquiry into the nature of work and existence, From starting to cut the wood, uses recordings from an Indonesian village and a traditional mask-maker’s workshop as primary source material. Each performer’s intimate dialogue with an inanimate other is accomplished through a common corporal language. Blurring boundaries between human and object—each, its own way, a mask—both APDP works are sure to provoke intriguing lines of inquiry into the rhythms and textures of existence in a digital world.

《黃翊與庫卡》最底層的意義

The Deeper Meaning of Huang Yi & KUKA 面對不同的觀眾,我會有幾種不同的切入法,

像機械人一樣完美:聽話、友善、表現優秀、

也許因為惡劣的成長環境,小時候最喜歡的就

另外還有它鼓勵實驗創新的公司文化、全球分 布的分公司,使未來巡演有更理想的支援。 我撥了電話給庫卡公司,由一位廖啟新先生接 聽,我和他說明我想與機械人共舞的想法,他 並沒有直接拒絕我,但他提出了:「世界工業 機械人法規規定,機械人動作時,人類不可進 入其動作範圍之內。你若可以不牴觸這項法規, 我就將機械人借給你。」 這通電話後,我即入伍當兵,期間構思怎麼在 不牴觸法規的狀況下,完成我的想法?

讓人回想起,自己最真切的期待。 《黃翊與庫卡》對我最底層的意義,在於它是 一種美化成長過程中的遺憾的方式,裏面糅入 孤獨的時刻,自我質疑、自我了解的時刻,自 我安慰的時刻,以及刻畫一些假象的美好,讓 他人放心的時刻。我希望創造出這些看起來很 美好、很童真的片刻,能讓看的人暫時忘掉現 實,或是想起來,自己也只是一個長大了的小 孩。 但這些都只是我的想法,作品最終會決定,它 自己的樣子。 黃翊

I was born into a wealthy family. When I was 10, my parents went bankrupt due to investment losses. My family of four moved from a luxurious house to a 150-square foot room. As a child who was constantly moving from one tiny room to another and seeing my parents go through suicide attempts, I grew up knowing that I had to be a perfect child. I detached from all my emotion— passion, anger, and sadness—to be that perfect child, and to be like a robot: obedient, friendly, outstanding, considerate, never rebellious, perhaps no personality. As a child, my favourite cartoon was Doraemon, a Japanese animated cat robot who is always there to solve problems for his owner. Apparently, I have had something with robots since I was little. Is it because they represent a character that is loyal? Or is it because of their selfless destiny? Thankfully, my parents let me choose to become a professional onstage, which became the best outlet for my compressed emotions. And I wanted to find a way to dance with a robot.

I did my research on the most advanced industrial robots, and KUKA stood out for its stability and the fluid, human-like design. In 2010, I called the KUKA company in Taiwan. When I told them my idea, they said, "According to the regulation, when the robot is moving, humans cannot enter the area of its action. If you can find a way, I will lend you a KUKA." I have found a way, and now, thanks to Quanta Arts Foundation in Taiwan, I have a KUKA. For me, HUANG YI & KUKA is a process of beautifying the sorrow and sadness from when I grew up. It is an expression of loneliness, self-doubt, self-realisation and self-comfort. I was trying to make a beautiful illusion just to assure others that everything was fine. I wanted to remind us of our simplest hope from the very beginning: that we are all just grown up kids, but still kids. Huang Yi

No Ordinary Robot 你會怎樣形容你和庫卡的關係 / 交情?

How would you describe your relationship with KUKA?

對我來說,庫卡比較像另外一種形式的我。 跟庫卡跳舞的時候很像在照鏡子,即使庫卡 是機械人,看着它跳舞,卻讓我第一次可以 站在我的身體之外觀看自己跳舞的樣子。 請談談和庫卡的創作過程。從編舞到編寫程 式到排練到演出,當中你遇到甚麼困難?又 是如何克服及解決? 最難的是身兼程式設計師、編舞及舞者的工 作。例如作為舞者完成了一段動作之後,必 須退下來撰寫程式,把動作編寫進庫卡,又 要以編舞者的身份,客觀地分析動作,所以 跟純舞蹈的演出很不一樣,多了很多必須處 理的不同階段。 身體之間的轉換也一樣,在寫程式的時候身 體可能就冷下來了。我花了很長的時間,慢 慢的才找到合適的排練方式。 和庫卡創作已有四年多的時間了。這麼長的 相處時間,你是否在這機械人舞伴身上看到 自己的影子?如有,是在怎樣的狀況裏? 的確有!我印象最深刻的一次是在美國馬里 蘭大學的一次非正式演出,因為技術問題我 們幾乎沒有時間排練,所以彩排就是正式演 出。在演出大提琴的段落時,跟庫卡有一段 很親密的雙人舞,當時我突然記不起任何動 作,可是庫卡卻領着我把這支舞跳完,對我 來說,它就是一個活着的夥伴,告訴我接下 來該做什麼。

KUKA is like an extension of myself. When I dance with KUKA, it feels as if I am looking in a mirror. Even though KUKA is a robot, watching KUKA dance allows me, for the first time, to stand outside of myself and watch myself dance. Tell us more about the process of working with KUKA, from programming to rehearsal to performance. The biggest challenge was having to be the software programmer, choreographer and dancer all at the same time. For example, I would complete a set of movements as a dancer. Then I would have to switch to become a programmer to code the routine into KUKA, while at the same time objectively analysing the movements through the eyes of a choreographer. This is a very different process from a production purely based on dance because of the many additional steps involved. I also had to adjust my body to adapt to this constant switching of roles. Whenever I stopped dancing to programme KUKA, my body could have cooled down. So it took me a long time to find the best way of working with these conditions in the rehearsal process. You have been working intensively with KUKA for the past four years. Having spent so much time with KUKA, do you see parts of yourself in your robotic partner? Absolutely! There is one experience with KUKA that left a lasting impression on me. We had a work-in-progress showcase at the University of Maryland in the US, but due to some technical issues, we did not have much time to rehearse, so the dress rehearsal ended up being the actual performance. that performance, where I have an intimate duet with KUKA, I suddenly could not remember my movements. It was KUKA who led me to finish that duet. That experience showed me that KUKA is as good as a fleshand-blood collaborator who is able to tell me what I have to do next. This began as a 20-minute piece [in the 2013 Ars Electronica version]. How did you evolve the work into the full-length piece that we see today, with the addition of co-dancers Hu Chien and Lin Jouwen? I wanted to tour and work with Hu and Lin, so I decided to include them both in the production. Like my relationship with KUKA, Hu and Lin are also very important people in my life, so I wanted to complete the work together with them. I had also always wanted to have a segment in the work where a male and female dancer are controlled by the robot, to hand over the reins to KUKA, for it to direct the fate of this puppet-like pair. That we were actually able to make this a full-length performance is due to the encouraging support of the people who have seen this production. It gave me the confidence to continue developing the work into a full-length piece, in spite of the significant financial challenges of doing so. What do you hope audience members get out of this production? My biggest hope is this: if there are any members of the audience who grew up in difficult circumstances— please don’t give up on chasing your dreams, because that was how I completed this work with KUKA. 胡鑑是台灣原住民,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學舞蹈表演研究所。最近演出包括黃翊作 品《長路》、《地平面以下》、《量身訂做》、《雙黃線》、《第二層皮膚》、《沙 丘》及《低語》。他為荷蘭籍導演大衛.維貝克的微電影《應莫帖》擔任男主角,電 影入圍鹿特丹國際電影節短片單元及 2013 年金馬影展台灣短打系列。胡鑑於 2012 至 2013 年曾任雲門 2 團舞者,自 2010 年起加入黃翊工作室擔任舞者。 Taiwan native Hu Chien received his MFA in Performance and Choreography from the School of Dance of Taipei National University of the Arts. Taiwanese dancer, choreographer, inventor and videographer Huang Yi’s pioneering work is steeped in his fascination with the partnership between humans and robots. He interweaves continuous movement with mechanical and multimedia elements to create a form of dance which corresponds with the flow of data, effectively making the performer a dancing instrument. Named by Dance Magazine as one of the “25 to Watch”, Huang was immersed in the arts at a young age, spending much of his childhood in his parents’ studio watching them teach tango and learning to paint alongside his father. Huang’s groundbreaking and award-winning work, HUANG YI & KUKA, has opened the Ars Electronica Festival (Austria) and TED Conference (Vancouver), and has toured globally since 2015 including stops in Australia, the US, Europe, and the UAE. Huang's recent works include: Under the Horizon, a hybrid opera in collaboration with Berlin-based Ryoichi Kurokawa and the Netherlands Chamber Choir, which premiered in 2018 in Utrecht; and A Million Miles Away, the newest work from Huang Yi Studio +, which premiered in February 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Choreographer’s Note

From starting to cut the wood opens with mask carver Ki Pono Wiguno stepping on stage with a piece of wood. While singing a Javanese song, he marks the space through a specific pathway based on a Javanese spatial concept. This pattern of diagonal lines, rotating from and to the center, establishes the choreographic framework of the performance.

One performer is translating these sounds into movement. He moves with the sound, against the sound, along the sound. His explorations are wandering between interpretation and transformation. Between the dancer and his response to these sounds is someone who is becoming the wood itself, which transforms into a mask—an object of spiritual content.

The stage fades into darkness with a soundscape of an Indonesian village with chickens, birds and human activity and enters into the studio of a mask carver, who starts to carve a mask: using a saw, ax, chisel, knife, sandpaper and, finally, a fine brush. The sounds are a reflection of his work rhythm, the very specific steps of his process of mask-making and his relationship towards his materials and tools. Each of these sounds has their own specific pacing and pattern, which opens up images, feelings and associations.

Combined with these interactions are projected text fragments, a collage of an observer’s thoughts while witnessing the mask carver making a mask: I am thinking of the shift, this moment in history when machines started to replace body movements. When a new rhythm was created and human touch started to disappear. The observations shift into the philosophy of work, in which quotes of various philosophers are recalled. The process of mask-making becomes a metaphor for the relationship of humankind to work and to its own existence. Katia Engel

我思索着這更替, 歷史中的這一瞬間 身體的活動被機器取代, 全新的節奏誕生 而人性的觸感漸漸消失。 數碼世界的節奏會是怎樣呢?

在製作面具的過程中,由削木開始,到人物輪廓呼之欲出前, 我不會停下。

面具雕刻師用鉛筆 在木頭上勾勒出人物細節。

我來到面具雕刻師的工作室,觀察他如何準備工具及木料。 我決定在此逗留一會。

我看着那些線條。

In the process of making a mask, from starting to cut the wood until the character is there, I do not stop. I visit the mask carver in his studio and observe him preparing the tools and his wood. I decide to stay for a while.

The mask carver cuts out from a big piece of wood the part he needs for the mask. I am thinking of the shift, this moment in history when machines started to replace body movements, when a new rhythm was created and human touch started to disappear. What is the rhythm of the digital era? The mask carver sketches with a pencil the detail of the character on the wood. I am looking at the lines.

I feel that by using the knife, the mask carver gets into the core of the character.

The shape of the mask is already clearly defined. But the character seems to not be fully alive yet. He is working on the surface of the mask, scratching the inside out.

凱蒂亞.恩格生於德國,扎根於柏林及印尼,是一名編舞及紀錄片製作人。她於紐約 拉邦動作研究學院接受舞蹈訓練。作品源自對不同動作的觀察和分析,她把日常生活 中的動作、聲音和形態注入個人編舞及電影作品中。

阿里.艾珊迪出生於蘇門答臘楠榜省,十歲開始學習繪畫、戲劇、音樂和舞蹈。他於 日惹藝術學院畢業,取得編舞碩士學位。阿里為印尼及海外多個平台編舞及表演, 2012 年獲頒半年獎學金前往韓國安東市。

恩格的作品曾在歐洲、亞洲及美國的電影節、舞蹈平台及展覽中發表。自 2012 年起, 她與印尼藝術家合編舞蹈作品及紀錄片。她以編舞及藝術總監的身份,與古瑪蘭.薩 提舞團前成員合作,創作《家鄉》和《之間》。她在印尼的近作包括《曾經快樂,所 以原諒》,是一套關於印尼詩人萊昂.奧古斯塔的紀錄片,亦是 2 0 1 8 年台灣國際紀 錄片影展的焦點作品;以及舞台作品《由削木開始》,2 0 1 7 年於印尼赫拉塔尼舞蹈 節首演。

2014 年,他成立舞蹈實驗室「八」,作為日惹表演藝術社群的聯網。2016 年,他獲 得卡勞拉藝術基金為新創作而設的藝術資助,與寧地久.阿帝普諾摩、多尼.穆尼斯 雅和塞普蒂安.珍博共同創作《可攜人類》、《Lalube》(巴貢.庫蘇第亞加藝術中心) 及為 2016 年印尼舞蹈節而作的《人類的門》。2017 年,阿里受邀成為美國舞蹈節及 比利時歐洲藝術節的駐節藝術家。

Based in Berlin and Indonesia, Engel is a choreographer and documentary filmmaker trained at the Laban Institute of Movement Studies. Her works originate from the observation and analysis of movement of all kinds—everyday movement, sound and form—which she translates into works of choreography and film. Engel presents her works at film festivals, dance platforms and exhibitions across Europe, Asia and the United States. Since 2012, she has been producing dance pieces and documentaries in collaboration with Indonesian artists. As choreographer and artistic director, she developed two dance works, Tanah Air and In Between, with former members of the Gumarang Sakti Dance Company. Her most recent productions in Indonesia are the creative documentary all is forgiven for we have been happy about Indonesian poet Leon Agusta, featured at the Taiwan International Documentary Festival 2018, and the stage work From starting to cut the wood, which premiered at Helatari Dance Festival 2017 at Theater Salihara, Jakarta.

Ari Ersandi was born in Lampung, Sumatra. He studied painting, theatre, music and dance from age 10 and graduated from the Art Institute Yogyakarta with a master’s degree in choreography. Ersandi choreographs and performs in numerous platforms across Indonesia and abroad. In 2012, he received a six-month scholarship to visit Andong, South Korea. In 2014, Ersandi founded Delapan, a dance laboratory and performing arts network in Yogyakarta. In 2016, he received a grant from Kelola Arts Foundation to support the creation of new works such as: Manusia Portable in collaboration with Nindityo Adipurnomo, Doni Maulistya and Septian Gembul; Lalube (PSBK); and Pintu Manusia for the Indonesia Dance Festival 2016. In 2017, Ersandi was invited for residencies at the American Dance Festival and the Europalia Festival in Belgium.

Ki Pono Wiguno Mask Carver 奇.龐洛.威冠勞 1960 年生於印尼日惹,是面具雕刻大師奇.華洛.韋斯傑的侄子。 他自十一歲起向舅舅學習傳統面具雕刻。他現為面具雕刻師,為日惹蘇丹國的節慶典 禮雕刻面具。奇.龐洛.威冠勞雕刻的面具栩栩如生,在印尼藝術家社群中享負盛名。 Ki Pono Wiguno, born in 1960 in Yogyakarta, is the nephew of Master Mask Carver Ki Warno Weskit. From age 11, Ki Pono Wiguno started learning traditional mask carving from his uncle. Himself now a mask carver, he is working for the Sultan of Yogyakarta carving masks for upcoming ceremonies. Ki Pono Wiguno is known in the Indonesian artist community for his highly expressive masks.

Clink) designs lighting and scenery for theatre, dance and other performances. Clink is the technical director and lighting designer of Teater Garasi, an internationally renowned theatre troupe based in Yogyakarta. He also works freelance as a stage and lighting designer for performance artists. Clink’s most recent projects are: Yang Fana adalah Waktu. Kita Abadi, a contemporary theatre performance directed by Yudi Tajudin and produced by Teater Garasi (2016); and Juggler Tales, a musical theatre production directed by Yudi Tajudin and produced by Shizuoka Performing Art Center (2013 & 2016).

He is part of the collective Teater Garasi, the rock band Melancholic Bitch and the experimental and collective sound laboratory WYST (What’s Your Story Today). Most of his works depart from traditional Indonesian values, history and realities and their connection with the world today. Throughout his practice, he has become more interested in interdisciplinary creation based on sound and music. Ariendra perceives sound as a way of working rather than merely as a medium or product. Ariendra’s most recent projects are: the experimental album Raja Kirik, on which he served as composer, project director and musician (Yes No Wave Music, 2018); and the short movie Unbearable Sun, on which he served as composer, co-director and editor (premiered in 2018 at Hellas Filmbox Berlin).

Laila Skovmand Composer 萊拉.斯科曼德生於丹麥阿曉斯,是一名作曲家及歌手,畢業於丹麥皇家音樂學院和 法國羅伊.赫特藝術中心。在學期間,斯科曼德發展出獨特的演唱風格,將傳統聲樂 與羅伊.赫特的表現式和實驗式聲樂風格融合。 斯科曼德是音樂表演公司「音樂之間」的藝術總監,創作以人類進化為靈感的一套四 部曲。系列的首部作品《馭水之音》,是一場水底音樂表演。《馭水之音》籌備歷時 十年,2016 年始於荷蘭鹿特丹歌劇節進行世界首演,目前應邀在世界各地演出。斯 科曼德同時為國際知名劇團及舞團作曲。 Laila Skovmand, from Aarhus, Denmark, is a composer and singer. She graduated from Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and the Centre Artistique International Roy Hart in France. Through her studies, Skovmand has developed a unique way of combining a more traditional way of singing with the expressive and experimental Roy Hart voice work. As artistic director of the music performance company Between Music, she is now writing a quadrilogy inspired by human evolution. The first part of the quadrilogy is AquaSonic, a concert performance under water. After ten years of work, AquaSonic had its world premiere at the Opera Festival Rotterdam in 2016. It is now a viral phenomenon, and the concert is requested all over the world. Skovmand also composes for internationally known theatre and dance companies.
