Dance Sector Joint Conference, the Hong Kong Dance Alliance successfully campaigned and elected its Chairman, Mr. Willy Tsao to the board of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and was represented by Mr. Paul Yeung and Ms. Pearl Chan in Seoul in 1996 and by Mr. Tom Brown in Dusseldorf in 1997 at

the World Dance Alliance Summit Meetings.

活動報告 ____ 九九七年對香港舞蹈聯盟來説是豐盛的一年。除了為香港舞蹈界表達

I. PROJECTS IN 1997 甲一九九七年度計劃 1.

All Independent Dance Series Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and the Hong Kong Arts Centre and held at the

McAuley Theatre of the Hong Kong Arts Centre in May 1997 with Venue and Technical support from the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Rehearsal Venue and Administrative support from the City Contemporary Dance Company

and sponsored by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Mr. Willy Tsao. This exciting series presented five independent dance groups over three weeks. Each group presented two performances of a full evening

concert with excellent critical and audience responses. The groups presented were: • Harmonious Dance Troupe

• Chris Ho & Dancers

• Ark Dance Theatre

• Moving Garden

• South Asli Dance Workshop

（一）《各自各舞蹈列》 這項計刻由香港舞蹈聯盟及香港荽術中心合辦■獲香港藝術發展局及曹誠淵先生赞助•並得到

香港藝術中心提供場地及後台技術製作，還有城市當代舞蹈困提供缲排場地及行政支援。節目於一九 九七年五月在香港藝術中心麥高利小劇場舉行。由五個不同團微演出一連串的精采表演，為期三個星

期。每個團體負责兩晚的整場演出。這計劃非常成功，得到各界人士的支持及譜赏。表演困體包括： •步韶舞蹈困

Dance Celebration for the Reunification of Hong Kong Co-Produced by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and the other three members of the Hong Kong Dance

Sector Joint Conference: the Hong Kong Dance Federation; the Association of Hong Kong Dance Organizations; and the Hong Kong Ballet Group. The performance at the Cultural Centre Grand Theatre on 6 July 1997,

attracted an enthusiastic audience of about 75% of the auditorium's capacity including the Vice Chairman of the Xinhua News Agency, the Secretary of the government's Broadcasting, Culture, & Sports Branch, and the

Chairman of the Arts Development Council.

The exciting evening featured 200 dancers performing on the

Grand Theatre stage including the following groups:

• Hong Kong Dance Company • The Hong Kong Ballet Company • City Contemporary Dance Company • The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts • Hong Kong Ballet Group

• The Hong Kong Dance Federation • Association of Hong Kong Dance Organizations • Winners of the Schools Dance Festival

（二）《香港舞蹈界慶回歸舞蹈曰 》 香港舞蹈聯盟與香港舞蹈界聯席會議中三個團體：香港舞蹈總會、香港舞蹈團槪聯會及香港芭 蕾舞學會聯合製作了《香港舞蹈界慶回歸舞蹈日》節目。這節目於一九九七年七月六日在香港文化中

心大劇院舉行，觀眾入座率高達七成半，新華社副社長、文康廣播科局長及香港藝術發展局主席等均 有出席。這次晚會由二百位優秀的舞蹈員在大劇院台上演出了一場充滿歡欣慶贺的表演。參與演出的 團體包括： •香港舞蹈困 •香港芭蕾舞困 •城市當代舞蹈團

•香港演藝術學院

•香港芭蕾舞學會 •香港舞蹈總會

Hong Kong Dance History Co-Produced by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and TVB and aired on 13 July and sponsored by the

Arts Development Council. This programme secured a 26 point audience share （1.3 million viewers）. TVB was delighted with the ambitious and successful result. Participating groups included:

• The Hong Kong Ballet Company • Hong Kong Ballet Group • City Contemporary Dance Company • The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts • Hong Kong Dance Federation • St. Paul Primary School • Budlet Folk Dance Group • South East Asia Dance Group

（三）香港舞蹈傳奇 這電視節目由香港舞蹈聯盟及香港電視廣播有限公司聯合製作•並由香港藝術發展局赞助 。節

目於一九九七年七月十三日播放，收视率高達二十六點•共有一百三十萬名觀眾收看。香港觉視廣播 有限公司對此成绩感到非常滿意。參與演出的團體包括：

MNGeON'^ Jointly Presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the

Provisional Urban Council and the Provisional Regional Council, sponsored by Dr. Stanley Ho, The Hong

Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust' the Hong Kong Culture and Art Foundation, Treasure Court, the Asian

Cultural Council, the British Council, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, MasterCard, NYNEX Foundation, the United States Information Service, and the Jacky Chan Foundation and supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development

Council. This two week celebration of Hong Kong Dance held in August 1997 hosted International Dance

Conferences, a Festival of Dance Academies, Showcases, Master Classes, Installations, and Performance Series.

Most events were fully subscribed and dose to 1,000 registered participants and invited artists and speakers

added to the overwhelming success of the event. MNC£ ON'^7 published two volumes of conference proceedings,

a directory and an events book that together with the International Festival of Dance Academies evening

programmes have been sent to local libraries and the world's major libraries holding dance collections. Local and international press reports and articles in international scholarly journals continue to be published in praise of this event.

（四） 《舞匯九七》 《舞匯九七》是由香港舞蹈聯盟、香港演藝學院、臨時市政局、臨時區域市政局聯合主辦.香港 葵術發展局資助。何鴻燊博士、香港赛馬會慈善信託基金、御珍閣、亞洲文化協會、英國文化協會、 KLM荷蘭皇家航空公司、萬事達咭、NYNEX Foundation '美國新聞處及成龍慈善基金赞助。整個舞蹈

節為期兩個星期，於一九九七年入月期間舉行 ，節目包括了國際舞蹈會議、國際舞蹈學院舞蹈節、午 間作品匯演、大師班、裝置藝術及晚間舞蹈演出系列 。大部份項目的登記均額滿，這可謂盛況空前=

《舞匯九七》出版了兩本會議記錄、一本通信錄、一本節目冊及三本國際舞蹈學院舞蹈節節目表 。以上 刊物獲送致本港及世界各地收藏舞蹈资料的囫書館 。另外，本地及海新聞界仍不斷在雜誌和刊物上發

表及鑽揚有關《舞匯九七》這大規模的盛事。

Post Performance Discussion of the Dance Drama "Jou Dou" Co-Organized by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and the Hong Kong Dance Company at the Hong

Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre on 11 January 1998 this lively discussion followed the highly successful Hong Kong Dance Company production of the dance drama Jou Don with a very responsive discussion group

comprised of dance experts and members of the public.

（五） 舞劇《菊豆》演出後座談會 這個座談會是由香港舞蹈團演出舞劇《菊豆》後的一項活動，由香港舞蹈聯盟及香港舞蹈囲聯合

主辦。於一九九八年一月十一日假香港文化中心大劇院舉行 ，是次活動得到藝術家與觀眾的積極參與■

反應非常熱烈。

II. OTHER HAPPENINGS IN 1997 乙一九九七年度其他事項

1997 saw the departure from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance Executive Board of four of its very hard

working founding members: Paul Yeung, Pearl Chan, Law Hung, and Ying E Ding.

The Executive Board

extends its heartfelt gratitude to these fine colleagues who have devoted much time and goodwill in helping to

develop the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and dance in Hong Kong. We wish them well and great success in their new enterprises.

The Executive Committee invited Tom Brown, Helen Ng, Francis Leung and Wong

Kwok Keung to fill their places.

香港舞蹈聯盟理亊倉四位努力不懈的創辦會負於一九九七年離任了 •他們是楊裕平先生、陳貨珠

女士、羅鴻女士及應萼定先生。本理事會衷心感謝他們對香港舞蹈聯盟作出的貢獻及促進香港舞蹈界

的發展。並謹此祝他們前程蓠里•本會邀請白朗唐先生、吳杏冰女士、梁家權先生及黃國強先生加 盟，以彌補上述空缺。

III. FUTURE PLANS 丙未來動向

1.

Second All Independent Dance Series Jointly presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance, the Hong Kong Arts Centre and City Contemporary

Dance Company; Supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and sponsored by the Philip Morris Asia Incorported. This expanded return of last year's successful series will see three independent dance

companies presenting evening length concerts in the month of April, 1998. During May the series will present a number of public forums that focus on the present and future of dance in Hong Kong with topics as diverse as a Performing Arts High School and Audience Development. The Series concludes in June '98 with seven young choreographers showing their work on a special shared evening of dance at the Culture Centre Studio Theatre and is presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance; supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development

Council; sponsored by the Philip Morris Asia Incorporated and in association with the Hong Kong Arts Centre

and City Contemporary Dance Company.

（一）《各自各舞蹈系列二》 於四月及五月舉辦的《各自各舞蹈系列》是由香港舞蹈聯盟、香港藝術中心及城市當代舞蹈團聯

合主辦：並獲香港藝術發展局資助及菲利普 •莫里斯亞洲集團赞助。去年的舞蹈系列十分成功•而今 年的節目則更加豐富。三個獨立舞困於九入年四月完成了數場晚間表演。另外舞蹈系列在五月期間舉 辦了一連串的論壇.題材包括舞蹈敎育在中學的前景和香港舞蹈末來的展望等 。最後•由七位年青編

舞家於六月在香港文化中心劇場上演一場別開生面的演出 。六月份節目由香港舞蹈聯盟主辦：香港葵 術發展局資助：菲利普•荚里斯亞洲集團贽助和獲得香港藝•術中心及城市當代舞蹈困協助。

Dance Day Jonintly presented by the Hong Kong Dance Alliance and the other members of the Hong Kong Dance

Sector Joint Conference this exciting event plans to celebrate a day of dance in November 1998 culminating in

a presentation by teams of children from all of Hong Kong dancing together in the Piazza. Dance teachers will go throughout Hong Kong during the year teaching a dance to primary and secondary school children who

will then assemble in the Piazza on Dance Day to dance together in the largest group choreography Hong

Kong has ever experienced.

（二） 香港舞蹈曰 香港舞蹈聯盟與香港舞蹈界聯席會議的其他困體，計劃於一九九八年十一月在香港文化中心海旁 廣場舉辦一個大型舞蹈日，是次活動由敎授中、小學校的舞蹈老師帶領學生一起參與，這可算是香港 歷來最龐大的一次舞蹈匯演。

Still in the planning stage this workshop, modeled after Bessie Shdnberg's famous New York choreographic workshops and led by Helen Lai and Tom Brown will bring young choreographers together to

provide them with mentoring and peer support as they develop works that are the future of Hong Kong dance.

（三） 編舞工作坊 這编舞工作坊仍處於籌割階段 ，工作坊以Bessie Shonberg所舉辦的著名紐約编舞坊為模範，由黎

海寧女士及白朗唐先生领導一群年青編舞家創作，讓參加者在良師指導及同輩支持下.展示其個人風

格及帶動香港舞蹈的發展。

Cultural Heritage Study Tour Also in an early stage of development this event organized by Chu Kit seeks to visit an important dance

heritage site in China for discussions and observation of the local dance culture. It is envisaged as an opportunity for dance scholars and general dance enthusiasts alike to learn about China's great dance heritage.

（四） 歷史文化探研團 這個計割仍在初部構思階段 ，由朱絜女仕籌劃一個舞蹈文化探研團，前住中國其中一個重要的舞

蹈發源地作觀摩、探索。為舞蹈學者及愛舞人仕提供一個研究中國舞蹈歷史文化的好機會。

This ongoing project is in the process of compiling and writing a definitive History of Hong Kong

Dance for publication.

（五） 出版香港舞蹈史冊 香港舞蹈聯盟與香港舞蹈界聯席會議的其他團體，現正編寫一本香港舞蹈史卿，完成後將會印行 出版。

Hong Kong Dance Alliance Membership Directory Publication of a directory of individual and organizational members of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance

with brief biographies, specialties, and contact information.

（六）香港舞蹈聯盟會員通訊錄 香港舞蹈聯盟將會印製一本通訊錄，介紹個人會員及困體會員的問歷、專長及聯络資料。

Members of the Hong Kong Dance Alliance are able to receive discounted registration at international events sponsored by the World Dance Alliance and its regional and local organizations. Upcoming events indude:

• Manila World Dance Alliance: Asia Pacific Event 1998

During August 1998 the Philippine Dance Alliance, will host the World Dance Alliance: Asia Pacific Event with a Conference, Performance Series and Showcase Series among other events.

•2000 Feet: A Celebration of World Dance Summer of 1999 will see the next World Dance Alliance Summit Meeting hosted by the World Dance

Alliance: Americas, in Philadelphia. Two groups from Hong Kong have been recommended to perform.

• World Dance 2000

A Performance Series and Symposium planned for Summer 2000 to be held in Tokyo, Shanghai & Seoul.

• World Dance 2001 A Performance and Choreographic Symposium planned for Summer 2001 to be held in Europe.

有關世界舞蹈聯盟主辦的國際性節目，香港舞蹈聯盟會員可獲得登記費折扣優惠。即將舉行的節目 包括：

•馬尼拉世界舞蹈聯盟 ：亞太項目1998

菲律賓舞蹈聯盟將於一九九八年八月主辦國際舞蹈聯盟 ：亞太項目。內容包括舞蹈會議、

演出系列、作品匯演等。 •邁進2000 :世盟盛典

世界舞蹈聯盟於一九九九年夏季在美國費城主持世界舞蹈聯盟高峰會議 ■香港兩個舞蹈團 艘被推薦參與演出。

世盟擬訂於2000年在東京和北京卷辦一系列的表演及論壇。

•世盟2001 世盟擬訂於2001年夏季在歐洲舉辦表演節目及編舞論壇。

V. ADMINISTRATOR/MEMBERSHIP FEES 戍行政人員/會費 In order to better serve our membership the Executive Committee has appointed Ms. Scarlet Wong as Administrator for the Hong Kong Dance Alliance.

Ms. Wong began her duties, on a part-time basis, on 2

March 1998. The new Executive Committee is: Mr. Tom Brown, the Chairperson; Mr. Willy Tsao and Ms. Chu Kit, the Vice Chairpersons; Ms. Helen Ng, the Secretary; Mr. Francis Leung, the Treasurer; Mr. Jiang Hua Xuan, Mr. Mathias Woo, Mr. Kong Kwok Keung, Mr. Wong Kwok Keung and Ms. Diana Yau are the committee members. The executive committee approved an increase in membership fees. The new fees are listed below.

為了使會員能得到更佳服務，香港舞聯盟巳委任黄翠玲女士為本會行政人員•由三月二日起以兼

職身份開始工作。同時一九九八年度新一屆理事會巳正式成立.由白朗唐先生担任主席.曹誠淵先及 朱絜女士担任副主席，吳杏冰女士担任秘書，梁家權先生担任司庫。委貝包括蔣華軒先生、胡恩威先 生、鄺國強先生、黃國強先生及尤月興女士等。理事會通過調整會费.新會费如下：
