This is a programme suitable for anyone wishing to eventually pursue a career with horses, particularly if you have some hands-on experience with horses already. It provides an excellent route to further qualifications or the world of work.
A balance between practical and theory sessions gives you a real insight into the everyday work within industry and on the College’s equine yard. As well as this, there are duties where you become a member of the team and work with them to care for the horses on the yard, developing the skills needed to work in the equine industry. We also go on trips and visits as well as having in guest speakers to keep you up to date. A work experience placement is built into the course to further enhance your employability skills. This exciting and everchanging industry needs talented, flexible people who are ready to take on a challenge. Every day is likely to be different and we need people that can solve problems and take on whatever is thrown their way.
