Evaluation data will be compiled and provided to the VCOM Director of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education. Comments and suggestions regarding program content, location and other program specific details will be considered when planning future activities. Grievances regarding program administration and reporting of AOA CME credits will be handled on an individual basis by the Director of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education, Deborah Bourne, at dbourne@vcom. vt.edu or 540-231-5844. Participants with grievances that cannot be resolved by the Director will be sent to VCOM administration and then to the AOA CCME.

The goal of our clinic is to provide an opportunity for learning and sharing techniques in managing current issues in athletics. Participants will have the ability to spend time in the state of the art cadaver laboratory at VCOM, where we will be working with prosected cadavers to identify major anatomical structures and injury scenarios that relate to the topics discussed. There will also be lectures and breakout groups that cover evaluation techniques, bracing, and rehabilitation tips.

Lenny Macrina is a sports certified physical therapist by the American Physical Therapy Association and a certified strength and conditioning specialist for Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, AL. His interests include rehabilitation of the shoulder, elbow and knee joints. Along with maintaining a full clinic schedule, he actively participates in clinical research with the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL and has co-authored various current concept papers, book chapters, research papers and a home study course for the APTA’s Orthopaedic section. Lenny also participates in yearly spring training physicals and data collection for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball organization. He has presented at various national conferences including APTA’s Combines Sections Meeting, ASMI’s “Injuries in Baseball Course”, and also is a course lecturer on “Shoulder Rehabilitation” for Physiotherapy Associates. Lenny received his Bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (MA) and his Master’s degree in physical therapy from Boston University.

It is the policy of the VCOM Medical Education Department to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its educational programs. All participating faculty are expected to disclose to the participants any real or apparent conflict of interest related to the content of their presentations.

VOMA Continuing Medical Education Policy

Evaluation data will be compiled and provided to the VCOM Director of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education. Comments and suggestions regarding program content, location and other program specific details will be considered when planning future activities. Grievances regarding program administration and reporting of AOA CME credits will be handled on an individual basis by the Director of Faculty Development and Continuing Medical Education, Deborah Bourne, at dbourne@vcom. vt.edu or 540-231-5844. Participants with grievances that cannot be resolved by the Director will be sent to VCOM administration and then to the AOA CCME.
