SONY ERICSSON NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICAN HEADQUARTERS

Relocating into the high-rise, Terminus 200 building, the 45,000 sq/ft. offices were among the first to incorporate guidelines developed by the Swedish firm Windgards. The space boasts a unique reception concept that fosters playfulness, entertainment and interactivity as a part of its customer experience area which were flanked by the more neutral executive conference rooms in the ‘public’ zones while buffering the experience areas from the employee work areas. LEED came up early in programming as a way in which Sony Ericsson, in America, can validate design and really contribute to their sustainable message in the states and with future real-estate. HOK worked closely with Sony

To further enhance the interdisciplinary approach of Florida International University’s Academic Health Sciences Center, this new facility houses the College of Nursing integrated with existing Allied Health programs. The new building provides flexible, high-quality teaching, simulation labs and research space to support all facets of nursing education and training. The 5-story, 114,000 SF building includes a 300-seat auditorium, 90-seat classroom and two 60-seat classrooms. The mission statement for the facility is “Health and Well Being” and it will be FIU’s first LEED certified project.

World Fuel Services is a global leader in fuel logistics, specializing in the distribution and sale of marine, aviation and land fuel products and services. In an effort to refresh their global headquarters, WFS contracted HOK to provide interior design services. The headquarters, 101,585 square feet of office space on four floors, includes executive offices, common use areas, support and ancillary spaces and a trading floor. Also included is a landscaped roof terrace that will be used for entertainment and private events. The design of employee amenity spaces, including a gymnasium and a cafeteria, are included in the scope and are being imaged as tools for attraction and retention tools for personnel.

HOK’s scope included programming, furniture management strategy, design development, construction administration and documents, move management services and signage. The team worked with the Executive leadership team of World Fuel Services to create an atmosphere that supports their corporate image and communicates their stature as a Fortune 500 company.

To support expanding IT, Accounting, Human Resources and other needs of their stores, Chico’s FAS is expanding their Fort Myers, Florida headquarters campus. HOK is providing Tenant Improvement and Core & Shell Coordination for the new 142,000 BGSF Chico’s FAS National Store Support Facility in Fort Myers, Florida. The scope of services includes: • Programming & Design Verification • Design Development • 50% & 100% Construction Documents • Permitting & GMP Award • Construction Administration •Core & Shell Coordination • FGBC Evaluation & Documentation The project is registered for certification with the Florida Green Building Coalition under their newly updated Green Commercial Building Standard. Since 2002, Chico’s has added more than 850 positions at the Fort Myers headquarters and continues to add additional headcount to support its growth as a national specialty retailer. In addition, the company has invested more than $200 million at its headquarters location over the past few years.
