We have an inspiring edition just in time for Mother’s Day. In this issue, we proudly feature outstanding women that are beautiful from the inside out. These empowered moms have demanding careers and still manage to balance life and family just brilliantly.

As a mother myself, I can relate to all the hard work and self-sacrifice it takes to be a mom. It’s life changing. And for sure it’s not an easy job description. It’s full of trial and tribulation, and a huge emotional and financial investment. I’d say it’s the toughest thing and in the same breath, the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m very proud of my two beautiful babies- ladies Jennifer and Nicole. They are my motor!

Tenemos una edición muy inspiradora, justo a tiempo para el Día de la Madre. Nos enorgullece presentar a mujeres sobresalientes, que son hermosas de adentro hacia afuera, madres empoderadas que tienen carreras exigentes y aun así logran equilibrar la vida y la familia de manera brillante.

Como madre, puedo hablar con propiedad de todo el trabajo duro y el sacrificio personal que se necesita para ser madre. Es un cambio de vida. Y seguro que no es una descripción de un trabajo sencillo. Está lleno de pruebas y tribulaciones, y una gran inversión emocional y financiera. Diría que es lo más difícil y, al mismo tiempo, lo mejor que he hecho. Estoy muy orgullosa de mis dos hermosos bebés, mis grandes mujeres Jennifer y Nicole. ¡Son mi motor!

-Háblenos un poco de su trayectoria y de cómo empezó.

Soy venezolana y me mudé a Miami cuando tenía 12 años. Desde muy joven supe que quería estudiar una carrera que me permitiera conocer más sobre la anatomía humana y cuidar de las personas, me fascinaba la idea de poder ayudar a otros. Cuando descubrí odontología supe que era la carrera perfecta para mí pues consolidaba mi pasión por el arte, la estética y las manualidades con la ciencia. Me permitía trabajar con las personas y me ofrecía la oportunidad de crear y diseñar algo hermoso y útil.

Con el tiempo, me di cuenta de que la odontología era mucho más que simplemente arreglar dientes. Era una profesión que requería conocimientos en anatomía, fisiología, química y muchas otras áreas de la ciencia. Me fascinaba aprender sobre cada uno de estos temas y cómo aplicarlos en mi práctica diaria.

Hoy en día, después de haber estudiado y trabajado durante varios años, puedo decir con confianza que elegir esta carrera fue una de las mejores decisiones que he tomado en mi vida. Me apasiona poder ayudar a las personas a tener una sonrisa sana y hermosa y al mismo tiempo combinar mi amor por el arte y la ciencia en mi trabajo diario.

-¿Cuál es su especialidad en la medicina cosmética? ¿En qué área realmente brillas? Soy fiel creyente de que la sonrisa es el espejo del alma. Como especialista en odontología cosmética y rehabilitación oral, mi enfoque se centra en mejorar la apariencia de los dientes y la sonrisa de mis pacientes, al mismo tiempo que restauro la función dental. Mi objetivo es crear sonrisas hermosas y saludables, utilizando tecnología y técnicas avanzadas en odontología.

En la rehabilitación oral, me enfoco en restaurar dientes dañados o perdidos, utilizando implantes dentales de alta calidad. Mi formación y experiencia me permite ofrecer soluciones personalizadas y de alta calidad para cada uno de mis pacientes. Estoy comprometida en ayudar a mis pacientes a sentirse seguros y satisfechos con su sonrisa y su salud dental.

-¿Cuál diría que ha sido el punto culminante de su carrera?

La transformación positiva de la sonrisa de un paciente y cómo esto mejora su calidad de vida ha sido el punto culminante de mi carrera.

Ver la alegría y la satisfacción en el rostro de las personas que me confían su boca después de una intervención exitosa puede ser una experiencia muy gratificante. Además, el aprendizaje continuo y la mejora constante de las habilidades clínicas y técnicas son logros importantes en mi carrera como odontóloga estética, ya que me permite brindar un mejor servicio y atención.

-Cuéntenos de los libros que ha escrito y sus galardones.

En este momento estoy trabajando en un proyecto para mi primer libro. No puedo dar más detalles aun, pero sé que quiero disfrutar el proceso, y asegurarme de dejar un mensaje maravilloso y ayudar a los demás.

-¿Cuál es la fuerza motivadora que la impulsa a tener éxito?

Mi hija Sophia es lo que me da energía y me mantiene enfocada día a día. Espero poder dejarle un mundo mejor al que encontré, con la esperanza de que ella también pueda contribuir a hacer una diferencia en el futuro.

Como ser humano, mi mayor motivación para alcanzar el éxito es dejar un impacto positivo en el mundo que mi hija heredará. Me esfuerzo y trabajo arduamente para ser un buen ejemplo a seguir en distintos ámbitos no solo como madre sino como profesional, como esposa y como mujer. Me dedico tiempo a mí misma para nutrirme el alma, mente y cuerpo.

-¿Como inspiras a las mujeres que la rodean?

Con resiliencia y buena actitud. Busco oportunidades para ser un agente de cambio en mi comunidad y más allá. Intento liderar desde el ejemplo. A pesar de haberme graduado en los Estados Unidos, como inmigrante he enfrentado muchas adversidades en mi camino, pero sin perder de vista mis sueños y la determinación para alcanzarlos.

Con poco más de 30 años, he logrado convertirme en una mujer multifacética. Mi rol como doctora, empresaria, madre y mujer acarrea una gran responsabilidad y por eso espero que mi perseverancia y positivismo sirva de inspiración para muchas otras mujeres y sus sueños, con confianza, a pesar de los obstáculos que puedan encontrar en el camino.

-¿Cuáles mujeres empoderadas le inspiran?

Para mí, empoderamiento es tener confianza en ti misma y fuerza para enfrentar desafíos. En líneas generales admiro a las mujeres que tienen la capacidad de tomar decisiones e influir positivamente a su entorno.

Son muchas las que me han inspirado a lo largo de mi vida, por ejemplo, Lady Di, quien siempre estuvo involucrada en actividades benéficas, lideró más de 100 fundaciones sin fines de lucro y fue gran promotora de la medicina preventiva. Por otro lado, la princesa de Gales fue y sigue siendo referente de moda y elegancia; un gran corazón y mucho estilo en una gran mujer, sin duda inspiradora.

-¿Dónde le gustaría que estuviera su carrera dentro de cinco años?

Como líder y referente de la industria estética, me gustaría que siguiéramos creciendo y entrenando a muchos más profesionales y pasar mi conocimiento a otros. Además de crecer nuestras clínicas y expandirlas por todo Estados Unidos.

-¿Qué es lo que más disfruta de ser mamá?

Lo que más disfruto es ver cómo mis esfuerzos en crear a un ser humano con valores, morales, perseverancia e inteligencia se forman ante mis ojos. Además, cuando me dice “Mami te amo” hace que todos los esfuerzos valgan la pena.

-¿Cuál es su secreto de balancear una exigente carrera y ser mamá?

Mucha planificación, saber establecer prioridades y tener el apoyo de un gran equipo no solo profesional sino personal.

-Su esposo es un renombrado doctor, de hecho, trabajan juntos en la exitosa clínica New Face Md- Miami. En su caso, ¿es cierto como dice el dicho “en la unión esta la fuerza”, con un buen equipo?

Sin duda, el Dr. David es uno de los grandes pilares de mi vida y juntos hemos trabajado para ayudarnos a crecer como individuos y así alcanzar lo que nos proponemos.

-¿Qué procedimientos innovadores tiene la clínica? Como clínica siempre estamos a la vanguardia y con la tecnología más avanzada. Contamos con scanners intraorales lo cual le permite al paciente ver su boca en una pantalla y poder entender el tratamiento que necesita.

Adicionalmente, nuestro sistema de flujo digital para elaborar diseños de sonrisa en porcelana nos permite imprimir diseños preliminares en 3D para mostrarle a los pacientes cómo quedarían con sus carillas en porcelana antes de comenzar el proceso. Pero lo principal, es mi distintiva técnica que permite hacer un bello diseño de sonrisa sin desgastar los dientes.

Además, de nuestros procedimientos innovadores, la empatía que tenemos con los pacientes es única. Nos esforzamos por que se sientan bienvenidos, atendidos y acompañados aun después de culminar su tratamiento.

-¿Cuál es su mantra?

La sonrisa significa mucho más que mi profesión. Me mantengo agradecida e intento sonreír incluso ante las adversidades.

-¿Cuáles tres palabras que mejor describen a la Doctora Jativa?

Amor. Perceverancia. Integridad.

-Sus hobbies favoritos...

Pasar tiempo de calidad con mi familia, especialmente con mi hija que aún está descubriendo el mundo.

Mis mascotas, soy amante de los animales y la naturaleza, jugar y pasear con mis perritos es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos. Viajar y conocer el mundo, como inmigrante valoro la diversidad cultural y de paisajes.

-Tell us a little about your career and your beginnings. I moved from Venezuela to Miami when I was 12 years old. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to study a career that would allow me to learn more about human anatomy and care for people. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to help others. When I discovered dentistry, I knew it was the perfect career for me as it allowed me to unite my passion for art and aesthetics with science. It allowed me to work with people and allowed me to create and designed something beautiful as well as helpful.

Over time, I realized that dentistry was much more than just fixing teeth. It was a profession that required knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and many other areas of science. I was fascinated to learn about these topics and how to apply them daily.

Today, after having studied and worked for several years, I can confidently say that choosing this career was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I am passionate every day to be able to help people have healthy and beautiful smiles while combining my love of art and science in my daily work.

-What is your specialty in cosmetic medicine? In what area do you shine?

I am a faithful believer that a smile is the mirror of the soul. As a specialist in cosmetic dentistry and oral rehabilitation, I focus on improving the appearance of my patient’s teeth and smile while restoring their dental function. I aim to create beautiful, healthy smiles using advanced dental technology and techniques. I focus on restoring damaged or missing teeth using high-quality dentures in oral rehabilitation. My training and experience allow me to offer personalized and high-quality solutions for each patient. I am committed to helping my patients feel confident and satisfied with their smiles and dental health.

-What would you say has been the highlight of your career?

The positive transformation of a patient’s smile and how this improves their quality of life has been the highlight of my career.

Seeing the joy and satisfaction on my patient’s face after a successful intervention can be a gratifying experience. Continuous learning and constant improvement of clinical and technical skills are important achievements in my cosmetic dentistry career, as they allow me to provide better service and care to my patients.

-Tell us about the books you have written.

I am currently working on a book project. I can’t give you any more details yet, but I know I want to enjoy the process, leave a wonderful message, and help others.

-What is the motivating force that drives you to succeed?

My daughter Sophia is my driving force. I look forward to leaving her a better world, hoping she can make a positive impact too.

As a human being, my greatest motivation for success is to make a positive impact the world that my daughter will inherit. I strive and work hard to be an excellent example in different areas, not only as a mother but as a professional, wife, and woman. I dedicate time to nourishing my soul, mind, and body.

-How do you inspire the women around you?

With resilience and good attitude. I seek opportunities to be a change agent in my community and beyond. I try to lead by example. Despite having graduated in the United States, as an immigrant, I have faced many adversities without losing sight of my dreams and the determination to achieve them.

At just over 30 years old, I have become a multifaceted woman. My role as a doctor, businesswoman, mother, and woman carries great responsibility. That is why I hope my perseverance and positivity inspire many other women and their dreams, with confidence, despite the obstacles they may encounter.

-Which empowered women inspire you?

For me, empowerment is having confidence in yourself. I generally admire women who can make decisions and positively influence their environment.

There are many women have inspired me throughout my life, for example, Lady Di, who was always involved in charitable activities, led more than 100 non-profit foundations and was a great promoter of preventive medicine. The Princess of Wales was and continues to be a benchmark for fashion and elegance, and her big heart and exceptional style is undoubtedly inspiring.

-Where would you like your career to be in five years?

As an industry leader and benchmark aesthetics, I want us to continue growing and training many more professionals and expanding our clinics across the U.S.

-What do you enjoy most about being a mother?

What I enjoy the most is to see how my effort to create a human being with good values, moral, perseverance, and wisdom shaping in front of my eyes.

Also, when she says “mom, love you” all the hard work pays off.

-What is your secret to balancing a demanding career and being a mom?

There is a lot of planning, knowing how to establish priorities, and having the support of a great team, both professional and personal.

-Your husband is a renowned Doctor and you work together at the successful New Face Md-Miami clinic. Is it true the saying “in unity is strength” with a good team?

Undoubtedly, Dr. David is one of the great pillars of my life, we constantly push each other to grow as individuals, thus to achieve our goals.

-What innovative procedures does the clinic have?

As a clinic, we are always at the forefront of the most advanced technology. We have scanners that allow our patients to see their teeth in a big screen to better understand the treatment needed. Also, we use 3D printing to showcase how the porcelain smile design would look like before starting the treatment.

But what really stands out is my signature technique for minimally invasive preparations on teeth for porcelain veneers and our empathy with patients. We strive to make them feel welcome, cared for, and accompanied even after completing their treatment.

-What is your mantra?

The smile means much more than my profession. I remain grateful and try to smile even in the face of adversity.

-What three words best describe Dr. Jativa? Love. Perseverance . Integrity

-Your favorite hobbies...

Spend quality time with my family, especially with my daughter, who is still discovering the world.

My pets, I love animals and nature, and playing and walking with my puppies is one of my favorite hobbies. Traveling and getting to know the world, I value cultural diversity and landscapes as an immigrant.

The company offers a wide selection of the most sought-after and exotic stones in the world at competitive prices compared to other suppliers. They have also expanded their surfacing products to include iStone, a sintered quartz surface material that is the most similar to natural stone. It is formed from a mixture of natural minerals that are subjected to extreme high temperatures that go thru a pressing machine of about 2000° Fahrenheit. This process then creates a fullbody hard rock stone surface. iStone comes in different colors and finishes like matte, leather, and polished.

What sets them apart is that Interstones has the infrastructure to manufacture the final ready-made product made in Brazil or Italy using their own materials. The finished product is then exported across the United States. How were your beginnings?

I come from a family of developers and constructors, so building has always been a part of my life. Upon arriving in the United States, I began developing shopping centers and warehouses in South Florida, which gave me invaluable experience in construction and real estate development within the U.S. I learned that for a consumer, purchasing products directly from the source is always better in order to obtain high-quality products at the best possible price.

Would you say that the best stones come from Brazil?

Yes. Brazil and Italy are countries with par excellence in the natural stone industry, known for their exceptional quality and a great variety of options. You can also find exotic stones of high quality and more affordable prices in other places such as Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan. Brazil’s advanced technology in the extraction and processing of natural stones allows us to stand out in the market as one of the world’s leading producers of quality stones.

How do you identify the locations of these stones?

It results from a combination of intuition, geology, and experience accumulated over the years. When looking for places to excavate, we consider the region and rely on our intuition, as well as the expertise of our geologists, who conduct tests to identify minerals several meters deep before mining the block.

Do you often discover precious stones during excavation?

Sometimes we discover real gems along the way. The thrill of finding gold, rubies, diamonds, tourmalines, and other valuable minerals is indescribable. Our Miami warehouse offers various natural stones where we can sometimes identify gold nuggets and other minerals that have formed over many years. It’s simply fascinating to admire the natural beauty of the Earth.

Where are the mines in Brazil?

Interstones mines are centered in Espirito Santo and to the Northeast of the country. However, access to these areas can be difficult, which explains why so many intermediaries exist in the supply chain until the product reaches the final consumer. To acquire natural stones, we use different strategies. First, we have our mines, which allow us to have exclusive and high-quality production. In addition, we establish collaboration and negotiation agreements with other companies worldwide to expand our stone selections so that we may offer and provide our clients with a variety of exceptional options.

Is there a lot of demand for your stone production?

Demand varies according to market trends and the needs of each client. Our goal is to offer high-quality materials at the best price. Additionally, post-pandemic, we have noticed an increased value for natural products and the importance of creating homes that balance nature, architecture and design, increasing demand for our products.

Our company produces the final product on demand, which allows us to keep a close eye on quality and ensure that our customers receive tailor-made products that perfectly fit their needs and expectations. Some of these exotic stones are unsuitable for all homes and construction projects. Their use must be carefully evaluated based on each client’s needs and preferences.

How do you handle customer requests for specific stones?

The client can select the desired stone directly from our quarry through photographs and videos. If it’s a large project, we coordinate with the architect or designer to choose the material in person from our mines, and then we ship to the final destination. The turnaround time is around 35 days.

How much savings can a customer receive by buying directly with Interstones?

Because Interstones are the direct source, we can offer clients savings between 40% and 60% less than the competition. We want to provide the best quality at the best price for the final consumer, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries.

-Cuéntanos un poco sobre tu trayectoria y cómo empezaste tu carrera. Todo empezó con el deseo de una niña pequeña de poder ayudar, inspirar, motivar y empoderar a los demás para que se convirtieran en la mejor versión de sí mismos, mientras crecía con la imagen de una madre fuerte, súper cariñosa y una verdadera líder en su campo demostrando lo que hacía falta para realmente inspirar a los demás. Estoy orgullosa de ser la directora de Aprendizaje y Desarrollo del icónico Hotel Biltmore. Empecé este viaje hace mucho tiempo al darme cuenta de que mi vocación en la vida era inspirar a los demás a desarrollar la mejor versión de sí mismos y, por supuesto, este viaje empezó y continúa con un proceso interminable de superación personal.

Soy autora, especializada en Protocolo y Etiqueta Internacional, Liderazgo y Habilidades Sociales y multilateralmente cualificada como Consultora Certificada en Etiqueta y Protocolo Internacional y Life Coach. Además, soy Licenciada en Psicología graduada de Florida International University, tengo un Máster en Gestión de Recursos Humanos de la Universidad Johnson and Wales y un Máster en Protocolo, Ceremonial, Relaciones Institucionales y Planificación de Eventos por la reconocida Escuela Internacional de Protocolo de Madrid, España. He centrado mi carrera en formar a otras personas con las habilidades necesarias para crecer personal, social y profesionalmente. Después de Haber trabajado en Asesoramiento de adultos y niños, enseñanza – aprendizaje y formación-desarrollo, he visto de primera mano lo importante que son estas habilidades para niños y adultos. Adquirir y mejorar las habilidades sociales puede tener un impacto directo en el desarrollo personal y profesional, puede ayudar a un individuo a mejorar su autoestima, desarrollar relaciones sanas, comunicarse eficazmente y adaptarse a diferentes situaciones. Cuento con amplios conocimientos en Psicología, Recursos Humanos, Protocolo Internacional y Etiqueta, y me esfuerzo al máximo para dotar a cada persona de las habilidades sociales y de liderazgo, necesarias para sentirse seguro de sí mismo y aprender a comportarse en cada momento en este mundo competitivo, globalizado y diverso.

Me han dicho que tengo un don, la capacidad de conectar, motivar, transmitir seguridad y fuerza, y ver el potencial ilimitado que tienen los seres humanos. Soy una apasionada de la vida, una persona que nunca dejará de aprender, soy auténtica, entusiasta, intensa, leal y fiable.

- ¿Cuál dirías que ha sido el punto más destacado de tu carrera?

Puede que esperen que mencione los premios, y aunque los premios me han llenado de orgullo y alegría, lo más destacado han sido todas y cada una de las “Gracias” que he recibido, esas miradas y sonrisas genuinas después de cada sesión o entrenamiento, un agradecimiento que ha seguido con “Nunca he estado con una persona que me inspire como tú” o “Se preocupa como tú” o “Me ves como mucho más que un número”, “Serás recordada”, “Has marcado la diferencia” o “Esto me ha cambiado la vida” o incluso “Ahora me doy cuenta de lo importante que es la superación personal”, “Me has inspirado para preocuparme por hacer la mejor versión de mí”... Son muchos los mensajes que he recibido y que valoro inmensamente, mensajes que van seguidos de realización personal de que he logrado mi objetivo: marcar la diferencia... Es esa sensación de auténtica felicidad que proviene de saber que no sólo he encontrado mi sentido y mi propósito, sino que lo estoy viviendo, y eso es lo que más me entusiasma.

Me importa, esa es mi mayor fuerza y mi mayor fortaleza, no mis conocimientos o mi experiencia, sino el simple hecho de que me importa. Soy de las que se siente genuinamente feliz expresando afecto desinteresado, me hace sentir viva, me hace sentir que, si un día no estoy al lado de esa persona o ya no estoy en este mundo, esa persona sabrá lo mucho que me importaba, eso alimenta mi mente y mi corazón todos los días.

Algunas personas asocian a una persona que se preocupa de verdad, con ser débil, cuando en realidad tener una personalidad empática es una súper fortaleza. Vivimos en un mundo en el que la gente puede pensar erróneamente que ocultar las emociones o actuar con frialdad es la forma de mostrar “Poder”, la mentalidad de “Si no me importa, no me harán daño”, pero no estamos tomando en cuenta un aspecto crucial de la naturaleza humana: cuando no nos preocupamos, estamos negando una parte esencial de todos los seres humanos. ¿Cuál es la mayor necesidad de todo ser humano? La conexión humana. Esa empatía que hace que me importe, transforma una simple relación en una conexión fuerte y hermosa. El tiempo que paso con una persona, lo que le digo y lo que le hago sentir pueden parecer un par de minutos para mí, pero pueden ser un par de minutos que esa persona nunca olvidará. Ahora bien, la parte más esencial de “Cuidar de los demás” es cuidar primero de uno mismo. El autosacrificio no debe confundirse con la autosuperación, lo he aprendido a través de mi desarrollo personal, todo empieza por mí. Debo cuidarme, desarrollarme, para poder dar lo mejor

de mí a los demás. Está bien poner límites para ser asertiva, no basar nunca mi autoestima en las opiniones, acciones o juicios de los demás, sin eliminar nunca ese lado empático, porque si me cuido, soy más feliz y hago felices a los demás también. Uno de los mejores sentimientos que he experimentado es un agradecimiento genuino de alguien, y esto es lo que he conseguido muchas veces, sólo por preocuparme genuinamente.

- ¿Cuál es su mantra?

“El proyecto más importante que tengo soy yo, el regalo más valioso que puedo dar es una versión mejorada de mí misma, y mi mayor fortaleza es que genuinamente me importa.”

- ¿Cómo empoderas a otras mujeres de tu entorno?

La mejor forma que he encontrado para conectar y empoderar es mostrando mi verdadero yo, siendo auténtica y mostrando genuinamente mis conocimientos con esa energía, intensidad, y pasión que me caracteriza, teniendo una naturaleza amable y un buen humor constante haciendo reír a los demás mientras que en todo momento y genuinamente me importa cada uno de ellos. Pero primero, para poder empoderar a los demás, tuve que trabajar para empoderarme a mí misma, y para ello he trabajado mucho y seguiré haciéndolo, ahora puedo decir, que me siento cómoda en mi propia piel, mostrando mi verdadero yo, dando la mejor versión de mí, pero manteniendo la humildad de nunca detener mi propia superación. Ser genuina, honesta, auténtica, presente y real, es la forma más efectiva de conectar, inspirar y empoderar a muchas mujeres a mi alrededor. Con empoderar mujeres que muestran su autenticidad, me refiero a esto: ¿Cuántas cosas quisiste hacer, pero no lo hiciste?... ¿Cuántos proyectos querías llevar a cabo, pero renunciaste?... ¿Cuántas palabras querías decir, pero las escondiste?... ¿Cuántas personas nunca supieron cómo te sentías realmente?... ¿Lo que realmente pensabas? Si miras atrás en tu vida, estoy segura que se te ocurrirá una lista... Por miedo, por vergüenza, por lo que pudieran pensar los demás, porque pensaste que no sería lo suficientemente bueno, porque después podría ser peor, porque podría ser una mala idea, porque sentiste que podrían rechazarte y al final, no te mostraste con total transparencia, y ese deseo de “Encajar” o “Gustar a los demás” termina ganando. La única manera de que alguien te vea de verdad y valore realmente quién eres es permitirte ser vulnerable, ¡SER TÚ!

A todas las mujeres, incluida mi propia hija les digo: “No te traiciones a ti misma poniéndote una máscara, porque tu verdadera belleza está detrás de esa máscara, detrás de todo ese exterior... Tu esencia, tu luz y tu sombra... Y lo increíble es que, una vez que vives tu vida sin esa máscara; sólo entonces, puedes ver de verdad a los demás sin su máscara, sólo cuando te quitas la tuya, puedes ver a los demás como realmente son… Si tan sólo todos trabajáramos en amar nuestra esencia y mejorarnos a nosotros mismos, tendríamos la confianza de mostrarnos como somos y dar lo mejor de nosotros al mundo, y sólo entonces, la vida deja de ser una mascarada, termina el baile y comienza la autenticidad.”

- ¿Qué mujeres famosas te inspiran?

La princesa Diana. Una princesa fuerte y valiente. Yo era una de esas niñas a las que les encantaban las princesas. Con un carácter fuerte e intenso y siempre con un deseo nato de empoderar y apoyar. Siempre he buscado el equilibrio perfecto entre etiqueta y habilidades socioemocionales. La Princesa Diana siempre ha sido un ejemplo para mí. Considerada la “princesa del pueblo”, era un ejemplo de elegancia y etiqueta, pero también de fortaleza, humildad y calidez. Dedicó su vida a ayudar a los demás, y siempre fue una madre maravillosa. Aunque siempre me gustaron los cuentos de princesas, tuve la suerte de tener mi propia princesa, mi hija Sarah, y luego mi propio príncipe, mi hijo Christopher, a los que he educado para que entiendan y defiendan la igualdad. Después de tener a mi hija, escribí estas palabras para que supiera lo que debe ser una princesa de verdad:“Sarah, cuando tenía tu edad me encantaban los cuentos de princesas, me encantaba el príncipe y me encantaban los mundos de color rosa; luego te tuve a ti, y disfruté aún más porque tenía una princesa de verdad en casa. Pero tengo que contarte algunas cosas sobre las princesas y los príncipes. Las princesas de verdad también saben defenderse, con o sin espada, pueden luchar contra dragones y grandes obstáculos que se interponen en su camino. Las princesas pueden conseguir todo lo que se propongan sin tener que esperar a que un príncipe las rescate. Tú eres suficiente y tienes todo lo que necesitas para llegar donde quieras y alcanzar todas las metas que puedas imaginar. Puede que en algún momento necesites ayuda, puede que en algún momento seas tú la que ayude. Esa persona importante de tu vida no siempre montará en un hermoso caballo y no será definido por el atuendo, sino la forma en que te haga sentir: especial, respetada y valorada. Las princesas de verdad también viajan por el mundo, viven aventuras, salen del palacio y a veces descubren nuevos lugares solas, y sin esperar a nadie primero. La persona que de verdad te quiera, es la que se alegrará de verte disfrutar, crecer, aprender y descubrir. Al final, lo único que diferencia a una princesa y a un príncipe es el traje y ni siquiera eso porque la ropa que lleves nunca determinará tu valía, tus capacidades y quién eres por dentro. No olvides nunca que tú eres la única autora de tu historia y si alguna vez sientes que la gente te hace sentir lo contrario, ¡demuéstrales lo equivocados que están!

- ¿Dónde le gustaría que estuviera su carrera dentro de cinco años?

Mi pasión primordial desde que era pequeña ha sido inspirar, empoderar y motivar empezando con mi más grade fuente de orgullo y alegría: mis hijos; y también, con todas y cada una de las personas que encuentro a lo largo de mi vida. Esto es por lo que seguiré luchando, Esta es mi vocación, hoy, dentro de cinco años y más.

Bolet leads the learning, development and performance of the prestigious Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, and in an exclusive interview with Hola Latinos Magazine, she shares her beautiful and powerful story of helping empower others.

-Tell us a little about your background and how you got started. It all started with a little girl’s desire to help, inspire, motivate and empower others to become the best version of themselves while growing up with the image of a strong and caring mother who lived her life being a true leader in her field and always showed what it took to truly inspire others.

I am proud to be the Learning and Development Manager at The Iconic Biltmore Hotel. I started this journey a long time ago with the realization that my life calling was to inspire others to develop the best version of themselves, and of course this journey started and continues with a never ending process of self-improvement. I am a published author, specialized in International Protocol and Etiquette, Leadership and Social Skills. Multilaterally qualified as a Certified Etiquette and International Protocol Consultant and Life Coach. I hold a B.A in Psychology from Florida International University, M.S. in Human Resource Management from Johnson and Wales University, and M.A. in Protocol, Ceremonial, Institutional Relations and Event Planning from the well-known Escuela Internacional de Protocolo in Madrid, Spain. I have focused my career on training others with the necessary skills to grow personally, socially, and professionally. Having worked in adult and child counseling, teaching, and training-development, I have seen firsthand how important these skills are for children and adults. Acquiring and improving social skills can directly impact personal and professional development, it can help an individual improve self-esteem, develop healthy relationships, communicate effectively, and adapt to different situations. I bring together extensive knowledge in Psychology, Human Resources, International Protocol and Etiquette, and I strive very hard to provide each person I train with the necessary leadership and social skills to feel confident and learn how to behave in every moment in this competitive, globalized and diverse world.

I have been told I have a gift, the ability to connect, motivate, transmit safety and strength, and see the unlimited potential humans have... I am passionate about life, an endless learner, authentic, enthusiastic, intense, loyal and reliable person.

-What would you say has been the highlight of your career?

You might be expecting awards, and although the awards have filled me with pride and joy, it truly has been every single individual “Thank you” I have gotten, that genuine look and smile after every session or training, a thank you followed by “I have never been with a person who inspires me like you” or “cares like you” or “You see me as so much more than a number”, “You will be remembered”, “You made a difference” or “This was life changing” or even “Now I realize how important self-Improvement is”, “You have inspired me to care about making the best version of me”… many messages that I have received that I value immensely, messages that follow with a personal realization that I achieved my goal, to make a difference… It is that sense of authentic happiness that comes from knowing that I have not only found my meaning and purpose, but I am living it, that is my biggest highlight.

-What is the motivating force that drives you to be successful?

I care, that is my biggest force and my greatest strength, not my knowledge or experience, but the simple fact that I care. I’m the type that feels genuinely happy by expressing disinterested affection, it makes me feel alive, it makes me feel that if one day I am not next to this person or I am not in this world anymore, that person will know how much I cared, this nourishes my mind and heart every day.

Some people associate a person who genuinely cares with being soft or weak, when in fact having a caring personality is a super strength. We live in a world were people might mistakenly think that hiding emotions or acting cold is how you can show “Power”, the mentality of “If I don’t care, I won’t get hurt” but we are not taking into account a crucial aspect of human nature: when we don’t care, we are denying an essential part of all humans. What is every single human’s biggest need? Human connection. Caring transforms a simple relationship into a strong and beautiful connection. The time I spend with a person, what I say and how I make them feel might seem like a couple of minutes for me, but it might be a couple of minutes that this person will never forget. Now, the most essential part of “Caring for others” is to care for myself first. Self- sacrifice must not be mistaken for Self-improvement, I have learned this through my personal development, it all starts with me. I must take care of myself, develop myself, so I can give my best to others. It’s ok to set boundaries to be assertive, to never base my self -worth on other people’s opinions, actions, or judgments, while never shutting down that caring-affection side, because If care, I am

happier and I make others happy as well. One of the best feelings I have experienced is a genuine thank you from someone, and this is what I have gotten many times, just by genuinely caring.

-What is your mantra?

“The most important project I will have, is me, the most valuable gift I can give is a selfimproved version of me, and the most powerful strength I have is I genuinely care”

-How do you empower other women around you?

The best way I have come to connect and empower is by showing my true self, by being authentic and genuinely showing my knowledge with that energy, intensity and passion that people see in me, having a kind nature and a constant good humor by making others laugh while always ultimately showing that I truly care about each one of them. But first, to be able to empower others, I had to work on empowering myself, and for this, I have worked a lot and will continue to do so, I can say now that I feel comfortable in my own skin, showing my true self, giving the best version of me, but always maintaining the humility to never stop my self-improvement”

Being genuine, honest, authentic, present, and real, this is the most effective way to connect, inspire and empower many women around me.

And by empowering women to show their authenticity, this is what I mean: How many things did you want to do, but didn’t?... How many projects did you want to accomplish, but quit?... How many words did you want to say, but instead hid?...How many people never knew how you really felt?... What you truly thought?...If you look back into your life, I’m sure you will come up with a list...Out of fear, out of shame, because of what others might think, because you think you might not be good enough, because later it might be worse, because it might be a bad idea, Because you feel you might be rejected...And in the end, you don’t truly show yourself, because of FEAR of being SEEN, and your desire to “Fit in” or “Be liked” ends up winning. The only way for someone to truly see you and truly value who you are is to allow yourself to be vulnerable, to BE YOU!

To every women, including my own daughter I say: “ Don’t betray yourself by putting on a mask, because your true beauty is behind that mask, underneath all that exterior...Your essence, your light and shadow...And the amazing part is, once you live your life without that mask; only then, can you truly see others without their mask, only when you take yours off, can you see others as they truly are...If only we would all work on loving our essence and improving ourselves, we would have the confidence to show ourselves and give the best of us to the world, and only then, life stops being a masquerade, the dance ends and authenticity begins.”

-What famous women inspire you?

Princess Diana. A strong, courageous, princess.

I was one of those little girls who loved princesses. But I was also very headstrong and very much into empowerment. I have always looked for the perfect balance between etiquette and socialemotional skills. Princess Diana has always been an example to me. Considered the “People’s Princess” She was an example of having elegance and etiquette while having a warm, humble toughness, she dedicated her life to helping others while always being a wonderful mother. As much as I always loved princess stories, I was lucky enough to have a princess of my own, my daughter Sarah and then a prince of my own, my son Christopher, both of whom I have raised to understand and defend equality. After I had my daughter, I wrote these words so she would know what a real princess should be:

“Sarah, when I was your age I loved princess stories, I loved the prince and I loved pink worlds; then I had you, and I enjoyed it even more because I had a real princess at home. But I do need to tell you a few things about princesses and princes. Real princesses also know how to defend themselves, with or without a sword, they can fight dragons and big obstacles that get in their way. Princesses can get everything they set their mind to without having to wait for a prince to rescue them. You are enough and you have everything you need to get where you want and reach all the goals you can imagine. You might need to help sometimes, you might even need to help someone be rescued. That person does not always appear on a beautiful white horse and will not only be defined by a suit but by the way that person will make you feel: special, respected and valued. Real princesses also travel the world, live adventures, leave the palace and discover new places alone sometimes without waiting for anyone to come first. A real person who loves you is the one who will be happy to see you enjoy, grow, learn, and discover. In the end, the only thing that makes a princess and prince different is the costume and not even that because the clothes you wear will never determine your worth, your abilities and who you are inside. Never forget that you are the only author of your story and if you ever feel like people make you feel otherwise, just show them how wrong they are!

-Where would you like your career to be five years from now?

My number one passion since I was a little girl has been to inspire, empower and motivate starting with my own pride and joy: my kids; and also, with each and every single person I encounter through my journey. This is what I will keep striving for, this is my life calling, today, in five years, and more.

THOUSANDS OF ORCHIDS GRACE FAIRCHILD GARDEN

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the historic botanical garden that’s dedicated to tropical plant education and conservation celebrated the return of Orchids in Bloom. With thousands of orchid plants gracing the garden during the two-day festival, the event had dazzling displays, gardening demos, and fantastic lectures. Guests enjoyed the sights of thousands of orchids planted on trees and palms throughout the Tropical Orchid Rainforest, award-winning hybrids, popular varieties, and extra-tropical species.

South Florida is home to a variety of orchids as well, most of them endangered in the wild. Visitors learn ed how Fairchild’s Million Orchid Project is changing that by participating in propagation efforts in the garden’s STEMLab, a state-of-theart mobile botanical laboratory on view during the Orchids in Bloom.

FESTIVAL DE ORQUíDEAS EN FAIRCHILD GARDENS

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, el histórico jardín botánico que está dedicado a la educación y conservación de las plantas tropicales, celebró el regreso de Orchids in Bloom. Con miles de plantas de orquídeas adornando el jardín durante los dos días del festival, el evento contó con exhibiciones deslumbrantes, demostraciones de jardinería y conferencias. Los invitados disfrutaron de las vistas de miles de orquídeas plantadas en árboles y palmeras en todo el Bosque Lluvioso Tropical de Orquídeas, con híbridos galardonados, variedades populares y especies extra-tropicales.

El sur de Florida también alberga una variedad de orquídeas, la mayoría de ellas en peligro de extinción en la naturaleza. Los visitantes aprendieron cómo el Million Orchid Project de Fairchild está cambiando eso al participar en los esfuerzos de propagación en el STEMLab del jardín, un laboratorio botánico móvil de última generación que se exhibe durante Orchids in Bloom.

Denise se graduó en ciencias de la comunicación en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y comenzó en la televisión a los 20 años, una mujer que a través de su ojo personal nos lleva a descubrir de una forma muy diferente la imagen pública de las celebridades hispanas en EE.UU.

Esta mujer especial con un look sexy cool, tiene también una historia con la moda desde hace más tres décadas, formando parte de la industria de los medios desde sus comienzos en la televisión. Siempre con una sonrisa en los labios, Denise Del Pino parece ser una mujer que desafía el paso del tiempo, y su armonía interior se manifiesta hasta en la forma como se sienta y se mueve. Pocos saben que fue después de una vida muy completa y a sus 45 años, se radicó en Estados Unidos, donde reinventó su vida en 180 grados y comenzó su carrera aquí, en un difícil y competitivo negocio donde lleva varios años triunfando.

Eres una mujer muy admirada. ¿Cuál es tu secreto para lograr la armonía que proyectás?

Estar contenta contigo misma y con tu vida es muy importante. Soy una mujer feliz con mi vida privada, mi historia, mi presente, y hago siempre lo que amo…

Soy muy disciplinada en la profesión y eso me mantiene muy centrada. No todo en la vida es fácil — ¡claro que no lo es! — pero me gusta ser muy positiva. Hacer frente a las cosas y mirar hacia delante. ¿Sabes? En todas las edades, a veces hay que parar y revalorizar las cosas. Y en ocasiones hay que empezar nuevos caminos para buscar la plenitud.

¿Y el trabajo y los viajes del negocio, no te quitan demasiado tiempo?

Me organizo muy bien y tengo tiempo para todo. Siempre me preguntan esto y me sorprende; porque cuando somos organizados y sabemos usar bien el tiempo, no hay problemas Cuando uno hace las cosas con pasión, amor y cariño salen bien y yo entendí, que al menos en mí, vivir intensamente es una manera de reciclar la energía permanentemente y da sentido a la vida.

Tu tenías una vida completa dedicada a la televisión y no tenías necesidad alguna de

entrar en el difícil mundo de los negocios y la moda— sin embargo, decidiste comenzar tu carrera como asesora de imagen y crear tu marca Bendito.

Es cierto que fue un paso que nadie esperaba. (ni yo tal vez) dice riendo. Empecé a hacerlo instintivamente, no fue una decisión meditada, pero si soñada. Y comencé ya tarde, porque me dediqué primero al periodismo y a la producción muchos años. Pero era un deseo que tenía, tuve la oportunidad de hacerlo, y no la dejé pasar. Es importante saber lo que quieres y no dejar pasar el momento preciso cuando llega, no importa qué edad tengas. El tiempo demostró que no era un capricho, ni una locura.

Soy inquieta por naturaleza, muy curiosa, me gusta investigar y descubrir cosas nuevas.

Lo que más feliz me hace es ver a todos los míos felices. Y lo que más me mortifica es ver sufrir a una persona querida por algo que le esté pasando, ya sea una enfermedad o una situación. Me gusta sentido del humor, pues sin sentido del humor la vida está vacía y nunca te olvidás de la persona que te hace reír. ¡El sentido del humor te hace la vida más fácil!

PINTURAS ENTRE AMÉRICA LATINA, ÁFRICA Y EUROPA

La exposición presenta varias obras nunca exhibidas en los Estados Unidos, pertenecientes a la Fundación Oswaldo Vigas, y pueden ser vistas hasta el 21 de mayo, en el Museo de Arte de Boca Ratón. En homenaje al venezolano Oswaldo Vigas, su hijo, el galardonado cineasta Lorenzo Vigas, presenta la muestra: “Oswaldo Vigas: Pinturas entre América Latina, África y Europa.”

La exposición conmemora los 100 años del natalicio de Oswaldo Vigas (1923-2014), con una serie de obras creadas por el artista durante su época en París en los años cincuenta y en Venezuela durante los años 1969 -1976.

Vigas, quien fuera reconocido como uno de los pintores venezolanos más influyentes del siglo XX por su visión de Las Américas, comparó su arte a su tierra natal.

“América es un cosmos. Nuestro continente está lleno de señales oscuras e indicios: signos telúricos y magia que son componentes recónditos de nuestra condición. Al mismo tiempo que nos revelan algo, estos símbolos también nos comprometen en un mundo inquietante de efervescencia. La intención de mi pintura es alcanzarlos, interpretarlos y traducirlos en nuevas alertas. Mis pinturas están a medio camino entre América Latina, África y Europa”.

Lorenzo Vigas, quien dirigió un documental sobre su padre titulado el vendedor de orquídeas dijo: “La película sobre mi padre, nos invita a reflexionar sobre el paso del tiempo, la importancia de los recuerdos y, sobre todo, sobre el origen del impulso de crear”.

El arte de mi padre siempre estuvo entretejido con las raíces primitivas de la cultura latinoamericana, sin embargo, ya no es visto simplemente como un ‘artista latinoamericano’, sino como un artista universal.

A través de su obra, restableció las raíces precolombinas de nuestro continente y la herencia africana con un vibrante modernismo europeo y norteamericano”.

Pintor y muralista autodidacta, la obra de Vigas incluye pinturas, grabados, dibujos en cerámicas y tapices. El artista participó en más de 100 exhibiciones individuales y su obra forma parte de numerosas instituciones públicas y colecciones privadas en todo el mundo.

The exhibition presents several works never exhibited in the United States, belonging to the Oswaldo Vigas Foundation, and can be seen until May 21, at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

In tribute to Venezuelan artist Oswaldo Vigas, his son, the award-winning filmmaker Lorenzo Vigas, presents the exhibition: “Oswaldo Vigas: Paintings between Latin America, Africa and Europe.”

The exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Oswaldo Vigas (1923-2014), with a series of works created by the artist during his time in Paris in the 1950s and in Venezuela from 1969-1976.

Vigas is recognized as one of the most influential Venezuelan artists of the 20th century for his vision of the Americas.

When the lymph and blood in our bodies are pure, they contribute to the formation of nutritional fluids which will produce healthy tissues. The outcome of these healthy tissues is called Ojas. While there is no exact translation of this Sanskrit word, it could be referred to the essence of our tissues that when combined with the reproductive fluids, it will form a healthy fetus in the womb. To achieve that goal, it is recommended that couples follow a healthy routine including meditation, yoga and a proper preconception diet.

There are elaborate sections in Ayurvedic scriptures, collectively referred to as the Garbhini Vyakarana, which provide guidance on how to prepare for the wonderful process of conception and welcome of a new life on earth.

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron and revered for its innovation and contemporary art, PAMM created the perfect backdrop for Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring-Summer 2023 collection which was first unveiled in October 2022 at the Cour Carrée at the Louvre in Paris. The range brings the infinitely large and infinitely small together in one silhouette: zippers and snaps are oversized, clasps become belt buckles, and a scrap of leather is turned into an outfit, among other reinterpretations.

Chef Todd’s inspired menus will rotate seasonally, and the chef will be on hand for resident-only events, such as food and wine pairings and demonstrations.

El GP de 2023, que se celebrará el próximo 7 de mayo, contará con varias modificaciones. Será la quinta cita de la temporada.

La ciudad de Miami tuvo su estreno en la Fórmula Uno durante el año 2022, con una carrera muy emocionante y que según los propios pilotos disfrutaron de gran manera, sobre todo del clima que ofrece el sur de Florida.

Sin embargo, de cara a la edición 2023, el máximo responsable del circuito, Tom Garfinkel, adelantó que harán todo lo posible para mejorar el circuito.

“Haremos todo lo necesario para mejorar el circuito. Creo que hemos afrontado un desafío con las curvas 14 y 15. Fue un poco por maldad, para hacer el circuito lo suficientemente grande y así crear un gran circuito de carreras”, comentó Garfinkel.

“Había una zona del circuito muy complicada, en la que obligamos a los pilotos a frenar mucho, ya que no tenían un espacio lo suficientemente grande. Hablamos con algunas personas de la Fórmula 1 y la FIA y creo que hay una posibilidad de cambiarla ligeramente para mejorar. Eso sí, creo que necesitamos esa pequeña maldad necesaria para obligar a que vayan lentos”, confirmó.

¿Cuáles serán entonces las principales modificaciones del circuito en su segunda edición?

Los cambios más relevantes se realizarán en las curvas 14 y 15, que engloban la chicana, uno de los puntos más lentos del circuito. El objetivo será cambiar el diseño de ésta, para que sea más rápida.

También se remodelará la curva 14, concretamente el muro, lugar donde Esteban Ocon tuvo un fuerte accidente en los Libres 3, lo que llevó a que no pueda participar en la clasificación.

Además, el trazado se asfaltará y se introducirán con franjas sonoras en las curvas de alta velocidad, especialmente en el primer sector.

Cabe destacar que el Gran Premio de Miami será la primera carrera de las tres programadas en suelo estadounidense.

El calendario 2023 de la Fórmula 1 incluirá un tercer evento en Estados Unidos, ya que al de Miami y Austin se unirá otro más en Las Vegas.
