Iglesias Cantando y Bailando en Miami

Por Nancy Esteves

E

De su nuevo álbum inspirador Sex and Love, Enrique interpretó I Finally Found You, I’m a Freak, Loco, y El Perdedor.

For English See P. 54 Hola Latinos news / 954-260-8573/ www.holalatinosnews.com

HOLA LATINOS

Healed by her Passion Beatriz came to this country as a woman in pain, living in a body she barely recognized. She moved with her husband and two children from Argentina, where she had been an accountant and entrepreneur. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, with debilitating back pain that left her spine nearly paralyzed and her mind clouded. Her doctors told her that she would never move freely again.

Beatriz’s passion for life would not allow her to accept this prognosis. In Miami she discovered the healing power of yoga, and came to understand the importance of eating well to suit her body’s specific needs. Through the practice of yoga and healthy eating, she was able to heal her back pain without medication, and to find clarity and stillness in her mind. As her body regained its youth and vitality, she learned to take charge of her own well-being. Finally pain free, Beatriz realized her mission in life: to help others to align body, mind, and spirit in order to realize their highest potential. With this vision, Beatriz joined forces with her husband Miguel, her children Javier and Magali, and experts Alex Cohen and Susan Farkas to create the OM’ECHAYE 360 experience. At Om’echaye there is a point of entry for everyone to find a healthy, happy lifestyle. A healthy restaurant features meals planned by an on-site nutritionist. The Integrative Medicine center provides consultations by specialists, from physical therapists to nutritionists to acupuncturists. At the on-site Spa you can experience a number of healing and beautifying body treatments. Fitness and Wellness come in the form of Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Cycling, Power Plate, Body Training, and many other classes with highly qualified teachers. With Om’echaye, Beatriz has manifested her longtime dream, and now shares her passion with her Beatriz Wilensky, Om’echaye Wellness & Fitness Center community.

Holiday décor 2014 So it’s that time of year, again! Relatives from out of town, friends, and colleagues-- you want to make sure your holiday table shines bright, but you’re way over that year-after-year red theme. Below are some simple yet smashing decorating trends that will be a great success even minus the red. Shimmer and shine One of the 2014 home decor trends involve the inclusion of metallic accessories in your room designs. Including lots of gold and silver in your holiday decorations is a popular trend. You can also add some vintage gold-framed mirrors to a room. Tranquil themes & Neutrals The neutrals themes are great all year round for any holiday celebration. A white with turquoise, pale blue, light green or any other pastel color decorations is a trendy way to add tranquility to your home during the holiday season. Less is best when creating a serene atmosphere. Exciting and Bold Purple, bright pink, rich turquoise combined with gold and silver add a bold touch. Vintage Decorations Vintage ornaments can attractively be incorporated into a modern home decor. Table Setting Using Textures Using faux fur in your holiday decorations to create some beautiful displays is one of the latest trends and so is the use of natural elements such as sisal and burlap.

Every first Friday of the month we host a Conscious Movie night during which we present contemporary content related to health, yoga, spiritual matters, diet and many other topics that promote good conversation and personal reflection at the conclusion of each movie

Healthy Aging During October we presented a movie called, “Healthy Aging”. The production was actually a seminar held in front of a live audience and the speaker engaged in a lively and informative conversation concerning the stages of life. In this discussion the central theme was choosing a lifestyle that resulted in what was called, “compression of morbidity”, or stated in other words, making life choices that don’t result in a lengthy decline of our body and its systems. What we learned is that so many people and their families endure needlessly difficult experiences when the opposite effect, or “expansion of morbidity takes effect within themselves or their loved ones. We will all decline over the years, which is not an outcome we can avoid. We can however take actions that will work to lessen the likelihood that our systems will start failing sooner than they actually have to. It is for this reason the term “compression” is used in the above statement. I’m sure most of you would agree that seeing a loved one leave this world without a long and protracted period of suffering is a humane sentiment. Unfortunately, diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, auto immune disorders, cancer, coronary disease, etc. serve to lengthen our period of decline and result in years of suffering for those directly afflicted and their families. There are many choices we can make today that will help avoid the fate of “expansion of morbidity”. Ayurvedic diets to fuel a healthy body with balanced nutrients. Yoga to help with balance and conditioning, thus avoiding falling accidents. Massage therapy to help loosen and eliminate bodily toxins. We invite you to join us each first Friday of the month to learn more about Ayurveda and Healthy Aging.

GOBBLE GOBBLE WOBBLE WOBBLE

No more dried food no more kibble this makes senior pets bladders dribble. Dry food does not clean our teeth for goodness sake. If we could brush our own teeth we would probably live until age twenty five. Cats were not designed to eat carbs which is why many cats wind up with kidney failure and diabetes. We have switched to Pet Guard food and will be transitioning to raw food soon. Dry food may be convenient to stick in a bowl and place on the ground however down the road it will not be so convenient when your pets become lethargic, too thirsty and pees often everywhere. Signs of pet diabetes. The PawCheck Diabetes Test checks for glucose in your pet’s urine. PawCheck also has a test for Kidney Failure and Urinary Tract Infections. Now that is what I call convenient I don’t have to be put into a pet carrier and deal with big dogs in the Vet’s waiting room ready to gobble me up like I’m some turkey hot dog. Just like people pets diabetes may be managed with keeping the wobble out of your wiggle and the gobble out of your giggle. If it seems like your pet just doesn’t look right you may want to get the PawCheck Tests at www.pawcheck.com / www. accesspetwellness.com, then make an appointment with Dr. Michael Dym providing Holistic and Integrative Conventional Veterinary Medicine WWW.DOCTORDYM.COM.

Brazil President Dilma Rousseff re-elected President Dilma Rousseff has promised to re-unite Brazil after narrowly winning reelection to a second term in office with 51.6% of the vote. She said “dialogue” would be her top priority after a bitterly fought campaign against centre-right candidate Aecio Neves, who got 48.4% of the votes. Rousseff, 66, who has been in power since 2010, remains popular with poor Brazilians due to her government’s welfare programs and follows the political ideology of Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva. Around 142 million Brazilian were called to vote, which has been mandatory since 1996 and is electronic.

By / Por: Alina Amaral The Miami Dolphins are back on a 2-game winning streak, after one of the biggest disappointments in the history of the team when the Phins allowed the Green Bay Packers to score the game winning touchdown with 6 seconds left in the game, on October 12th at Sun Life Stadium.

DEPORTES / SPORTS | 51

THE MIAMI DOLPHINS – The Time is NOW! Despite beating the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars in the last 2 weeks, winning the division or even a wildcard will depend on their being victorious at least 6 out of their next 9 games, and it will not be easy. Both Buffalo and New England are ahead of the Dolphins in the Eastern Conference. To truly impact the rankings, they will need to beat both these teams, whose offenses are currently peaking; in fact their offenses scored 43 and 51 points last Sunday alone. Detroit, Denver, Baltimore and the Chargers are probable play-off teams, and the Jets regardless of their record always play the Dolphins tough. The keys to success will be continuing to play very strong defense, not allowing any turnovers, Ryan Tannehill (QB) will need to start connecting with his receivers, and Head Coach Joe Philbin will have an opportunity to prove himself as more and more fans are becoming skeptical about his leadership ability.

Ryan Tannehill sets up for a pass play at the Chicago Bears game.

Miami Dolphins Remaining 2014 Schedule: • November 2, Home vs San Diego Chargers • November 9, at Detroit Lions • November 13, Home vs Buffalo Bills • November 23, at Denver Broncos • December 1, at New York Jets • December 7, Home vs Baltimore Ravens • December 14, at New England Patriots • December 21, Home vs Minnesota Vikings • December 28, Home vs New York Jets

he beautiful Miami crowd accompanied Enrique Iglesias in song and dance during his blowout concert tour joined by Pitbull and J Balvin that rocked the Seminole Hard Rock Live, Hollywood and the American Airlines Arena, Miami. Iglesias, in his casual, fine-looking style and Mr. 305 himself, dressed in black put on a stellar performance for thousands of Miami fans. From his inspiring new album “Sex and Love,” he performed “I Finally Found You,” “I’m a Freak,” “Loco” and “El Perdedor.” “Sex and Love,” has been the most anticipated album of the year, and his song “Bailando” has already gained over 300 million hits on Vevo/YouTube, topping #1 in 23 countries and hitting # 1 on Itunes charts. Enrique came to Miami at the young age of seven confused and insecure due to his parent’s separation, but this by no means would hinder his triumphant career. Enrique today is one of the most successful Latin artists of all time. With sales of over 100 million worldwide, he has managed to sweep up the most important and prestigious awards in the music industry. His infectiously catchy song “Bailando” is the song that has topped music charts the longest during his career. Now in the midst of his successful tour, Enrique gets five Latin Grammy nominations, which will be held this month in Las Vegas so stay tuned...

Enrique

Iglesias “Cantando”, “Bailando” in Miami

HIS MUSIC How did the title come to be (Sex and Love)? ENRIQUE IGLESIAS: The title came to me when I was writing the album. It was something very direct and basically it is explained in the disc. SEX AND LOVE (the sex and the love) are two things that are very prominent when it comes to music, it’s very inspirational. It is something I can identify with. Your last single “I’ m a Freak” is in this album, what did you like the most about working with Pitbull in this song? EI: I love working with him. We have worked together in several songs when I am in Miami and we hang out together. We are very good friends. In this album we collaborated in two songs. I like to spend time with him. Whenever we see each other, we get into music and if we listened to something that we both like, we can go to record it at the studio because we lived in the same city. In the video “I’ m a Freak” you seem good friends (with Pitbull). Did you have fun filming it? Did you feel like you were in a huge house party? EI: Precisely! It was one of the funniest things we recorded because it was exactly what we wanted to do. He [Pitbull] wanted to throw a party at one of his friend’s house, and there was where we filmed. Some things were broken, but his friend told us to throw the party and film everything there. It was not a video in which everything was planned. So what’s the secret to sticking around in the music industry? EI: Honestly, just loving what you do and never believe your own hype. Keep your feet on the ground and don’t think you’re the s**t, because you’re not. Treat everyone equally and work hard. You’ve got to really love it. ABOUT ENRIQUE: You say you hardly sleep, how do you do to overcome tiredness and recharge your batteries? (Ex. Small naps, playing sports, vitamins). EI: I think the body gets used to it. Yes, I sleep little, but like vampires, I sleep better during day. I try to eat healthy and do water sports when I have spare time (which is almost never) ... and my vitamin is the Miami sun. Which city in the world you would like to live when you’re older and want to retire? EI: Olderrrr, that sounds powerful, (jokingly), you mean like in five years? I am happy in Miami, I love this city, the sun, the sea, but I also love Los Cabos, I will probably retire on a beach and take care of a surf shop. What do you feel you still need to do in your life? EI: Everything. Writing the best song of my life, make movies, reach more people. I think I still have a lot to learn. What is the best thing about being Latino and living in Miami? EI: Well, getting out for a walk in Miami Beach right? I love the sea and water sports. That’s my relaxation and I won’t change it for anything. Professionally, what do you have left to do? EI: Go to the moon and sing! What do you look for in a woman to be your partner, girlfriend, wife? EI: First of all she needs to be independent. She must be secure with herself. Today, is marriage part of your future plans? Having children? EI: Marriage is not a priority for our generation. Times have changed and I am no exception. Anna (Anna Kournikova) and I are very good the way we are, because a piece of paper doesn’t guarantee anything. What does Enrique Iglesias do when not on stage or in recording studio? EI: Like any guy my age. I go to movies, go out to play pool or bowl. I stay at home listening to music or lye in the sun. If you were not a singer, what would Enrique Iglesias be? EI: Well the truth is haven’t thought about it, but for sure I would be a pilot. One of your greatest pleasures... EI: Go on a trip to the Islands Your favorite town: EI: Los Cabos Your favorite food EI: A delicious burger Do you think your songs reflect who you are? EI: Yes, I am very romantic and yet very fun, so my friends say. What do you think is the secret to composing music? EI: No secret, rather a cosmic connection to the realities that surround you. Where do you look for inspiration? EI: In life itself. Do you consider yourself a perfectionist? EI: Hysterically perfectionist, but I don’t take it personal when something goes wrong, it’s part of the job. Hola Latinos news / 954-260-8573/ www.holalatinosnews.com
