El amor es esa cualidad que borra los prejuicios y nos mueve al perdonar, nos da la paz mental en el turbulento mundo en que vivimos. El amor es poderoso. Si tenemos una idea de la potencia contenida en cada uno de nosotros, con la expresión del amor, en realidad tenemos el poder de cambiar parte del mundo. ¿Puede el amor conquistar todo? Cuando más de 40 líderes mundiales se unieron alrededor de 3,7 millones de personas en toda Francia para mostrar su solidaridad con las víctimas del ataque contra la oficina de la revista satírica Charlie Hebdo y los ataques posteriores alrededor Paris-- esto fue un acto poderoso. Un acto de amor por la libertad de expresión y la libertad de prensa y un ejemplo perfecto del poder de los seres humanos unidos por una libertad que amamos. February is the month of love, but I believe we should celebrate love all year long. It’s a beautiful thing… What makes us human is our capacity to love. Love is that quality that erases prejudice and moves us to forgive, gives us peace of mind in the turbulent world we live in. Love is powerful. If we get a glimpse of the power contained in each of us though the expression of love, we actually have the power to change part of the world. Can love conquer all? When more than 40 world leaders joined around 3.7 million people all over France to show solidarity with the victims of the attack on the office of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris-- this was powerful. What an act of love for freedom of speech and freedom of the press and a perfect example of the power of humans united for a freedom we love. Let’s celebrate love, live it, share it and be it! Creating the Ultimate Valentine’s Day Bed Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. It’s a great excuse to fire up the passion. Although some would say that every day should be filled with fire. Read on if you’re interested in designing the sexiest, most luxurious bed for
Valentine’s Day.
T
he bed is going to be on the floor, any type of floor. It can be on the sand at the beach, your patio (watch out for neighbors), in your living room or even in your own bedroom if privacy is an issue. The idea is to shake it up a bit, do something new and exciting. Find as many blankets as you can to create a soft, plush bed bottom that will be about 5 x 7’, imagine the size of a queen bed. Place the darkest sheet you own, a black silky one would be great, on top of the bed and tuck the sheet corners under the bed bottom to keep the sheet in place. Casually throw a comfy blanket or a large throw (preferably dark as well), on top of the sheet. Gather 5 or 6 pillows and cover in dark pillowcases if you have. Arrange like a comfy pyramid; 3 on the bottom, 2 in the middle and one on top. If you have extra pillows, arrange a few on the bottom of the bed as well. Now the bed details: Place flowers and petals all around the perimeter of the bed and throw a few on top of the sheet. Place any and all candles you own near (not too close) around the bed. Make sure all lights are turned off. The only light should be from the candles. If you can, find a fragranced candle that brings back memories of a memorable romantic time between you and your partner, such as the smell of the beach or sandalwood. Smell is
the strongest sense for memory retrieval. Set up two glasses with a bottle of wine or your favorite cocktail. Place a plate of your favorite foods the two of you like to eat in bed or find romantic, next to the glasses. Use pretty glasses and dishes. Play music that sets the mood for the two of you. Music also addresses and heightens our sensory awareness. I believe in a space always having a direction, even when it’s created out of blankets and sheets on a floor. The goal and direction of this bed is about creating romance in a unique way. It’s about celebrating love with our partner. Now go have fun you crazy kids! Happy Valentine’s Day xx

What are the options for lip augmentation?
There are two options: surgical and nonsurgical lip injections. The advantage of non surgical lip augmentation is the volume which it gives to the lips. Fat injection and implants can be used but it requires anesthesia, the results vary and there is a greater risk of complications.

What are the most common dermal fillers for lip augmentation? The most common dermal fillers today contain hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. Once injected it binds to water to give support and shape, restoring lost volume, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and giving the lip a much younger and attractive look. The most common hyaluronic acid fillers used are: Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm Ultra®, Juvederm Ultra Plus®, and Belotero®.
VALENTINE’S FOR DAY What are the most common dermal fillers for lip augmentation? Using Hyaluronic acid your doctor can control the amount of volume injected, to give you the size of lips you want. You can start with a small volume, and gradually increase the size of your lips as you wish. If you feel any lumps or bumps after the procedure, it can be dissolved easily. They are unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. Some of them are mixed with Lidocaine as a local anesthetic, so notify your doctor if you are allergic to Lidocaine. It provides instant results that are long lasting and natural looking.
How long does the treatment take? And is it painful? The injection process can take about 15-30 minutes. They have a very fine needle. Some dermal fillers have lidocaine in the syringe, and the discomfort is minimal. We can add topical anesthetic for a few minutes prior to the procedure, or give a dental block to numb your lips completely. Following the injection, ice is applied to the area to help with swelling and bruising.
How soon can I expect results?
Immediately upon treatment you will see results.
How long is the recovery? There is very minimal to no downtime associated with hyaluronic acid fillers. Most patients return to their normal daily activities right after their visit. You should avoid strenuous exercise after the procedure.
What should you tell your doctor before considering lip augmentation with fillers? You should tell your doctor if you are taking any blood thinners, aspirin and anti-inflammatory medication. These medications will increase your risk for bleeding and bruising. If you have a history of cold sores, and or take any medication that affect your immune system you should discuss it with your doctor.

Find Self Love Through Yoga The Bible tells us, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” What this means is that first we must love ourselves in order to love others. When a soul descends into a body, it has a purpose, which is the mission of the spirit--your Dharma. A life without purpose is a life without direction. To explore our Dharma we must step away from our everyday lives and ask ourselves: Who am I? What is the purpose of my existence? And, what am I doing now? Love is the feeling of being satisfied with oneself and being whole. If you don’t have self-love, how can you give love to others? The opposite of love is fear-- the result of the lack of self-love, which transforms itself into anger, jealousy and others negative emotions. Self-love does not
come from the approval of others. It dwells within the self. When we are full of love for ourselves, love flows over us and out of us and we have to share it with others. Through the practice of Yoga, we can connect with our own hearts, open the channels of communication within ourselves, and opens the spaces to find the flame of real love. Through Yoga, we can find unity with the entire universe. In this unity and connection is wholeness, satisfaction, and pure love -- the kind which will fill us to overflowing, and which will spill out onto everyone we meet. Miami Beach Commissioners say “no” to a new casino on Miami Beach
Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine says he wants to ban any operator of a MiamiDade casino resort from running a headquarters hotel for a renovated Miami Beach Convention Center. The commission unanimously voted “no” to a new casino on Miami Beach and further stated that the developer or hotel operator for the proposed convention center hotel must not be involved with any gaming operations now or in the future in Miami-Dade County.

Segundo, aquellos inmigrantes indocumentados que tengan hijos ciudadanos americanos o residentes permanentes que han estado presentes en los Estados Unidos desde el 1ro de Enero del 2010 podrán pedir permisos de estadía legal y permiso de empleo por un periodo de tres años. February 22nd has been proclaimed Dr. Fidel S. Goldson Sr. day by Broward County. Goldson Sr.5K Run/Walk & Health & Wellness Expo was a huge success. Curiosamente ella proviene de la misma ciudad de Sofía Vergara. Paulina nació en Barranquilla, Colombia, en 1993. Sofia, luego de enterarse de la victoria de Paulina, reveló su emoción en Twitter. Colombia Takes the Miss Universe Crown Miss Colombia, 22-year-old student Paulina Vega, took home the Miss Universe crown. The pageant was held at Florida International University Arena in Doral. Women from more than 80 countries competed in the event, which is owned by Donald Trump. Curiously she is from the same hometown as Sofia Vergara. Paulina was born in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1993. After hearing about Paulina’s win, Sofia revealed her excitement on Twitter. She tweeted, “Barranquilla!!!!! Miss Universe!!!!” Vega is currently a student studying business administration and comes from a large family; she has eight brothers and sisters. Super Bowl Prediction and Beyond On Sunday February 1st the New England Patroits will line up against the defending 2013 Super Bowl Champions, Seattle Seahawks, in Phoenix Arizona at Super Bowl 49! As a lifelong football fan, I say “Go Seattle”, out with the “Old Guard” and in with the New, PLEASE. When I look at these two teams so many parts of their identities represent old tradition vs. something new and refreshing, from the cities they represent to the uniforms, the coaches, the fan base, attitude, and much more. My prediction: Seattle 31, New England 24. But even more interesting is what will happen after the Super Bowl, when the NFL completes their investigation of the New England Patriots possibly deflating the game balls at the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, the game that got them to the Super Bowl. One might say what possible impact would an almost

unperceivable difference in a football make? And why would they do this when they are already such a successful team? And they won the game decisively? The reality is the ball does become better to grip, throw, catch and hold on to, for not only the quarterback but for all the offense. The other reality is that the deflation may have been going on for many years. A recent study shows that the New England Patriots’ ability to keep their hands on the ball and more importantly keep possession of the ball , increased amazingly in 2007, the first year that the NFL changed the process where each team brings their own balls to each game. Interestingly, Tom Brady, the Patriot’s quarterback was one of the lead advocates of this rule change.

When my Pet Parents broke up I stayed with my Mom. Years later my Pup Pop gave me a new K9 Kart however when their friendship ended I never saw him again. I sure miss that filet migon. At least he didn’t beat me. Once we heard our former neighbor beating his dog we heard loud cries so we called Animal Control. They told us we had to see it not just hear it. The next time we heard the dogs cries we peeked through the fence and saw the man beating his dog with a 2 x 4. We called the Police however we saw the man had an imbalance so we gave him another chance as he apologized showed remorse and never did it again. Many victims of domestic violence do not leave abusive relationships for fear their pet will be injured or killed. In Florida there are thousands of reported cases of domestic violence and hundreds of domestic violence homicides. People should not have to leave their pets behind and prove that they own them. Pets are considered to be property in Florida. My story this month is in honor
of two pets that stand out in my mind who recently were filmed and tortured by an abusive boyfriend. A Husky and a Bunny. It just breaks my heart to think of the fear they endured and the shock and pain their Mommy experienced upon viewing the recording. Did you know that more than half of abused women report violence toward their pet? More than half of the abused women stayed in relationships because they could not take their pet with them to a shelter. Domestic violence victims should not have to choose between their safety and their pets. Pets are pure, true and love unconditionally. They help heal our broken hearts. We need to press state of Florida to reintroduce Senate Bill 288, by Senator Mike Fasano this would redefine the term “domestic violence” to include “inflicting, or attempting to inflict, physical injury against an animal owned, possessed, leased, kept, or held by one family or household member by another family or household member, or placing a family or household member in fear of physical harm to an animal owned, possessed, leased, kept, or held by that family
or household member.” The bill would also give victims of domestic violence the right to gain custody of their companion animal, and to obtain an order of protection keeping abusers away from the animal(s). The link between domestic violence and animal abuse is well documented. This legislation would provide protection for people and animals in violent homes. Status: SB 288 did not advance out of committee. WHY? If you and your pet are not having a Happy Valentine’s Day ask an attorney how to get a restraining order to protect your pets as well. Make sure all Vet records and registrations are in your name only. Do not leave your pet with the abuser. Call your Vet, animal shelter, trusted friend or family to take in your pet.. Keep location secret and put tags on your pets. The Humane Society and Shelters have many rescue group contacts. Receta de Paella de Mariscos Ingredientes
• 250 gr de gambas • 1 calamar o 1 sepia • 1 kilo de mejillones • 200 gr de almejas • 1 pimiento rojo • 1 pimiento verde • 2 tomates • Perejil • 5 granos de pimienta negra • 2 o 3 dientes de ajo • Sal • Unas hebras de azafrán • 2 vasos de arroz redondo, bomba • 5 vasos de agua o de caldo de marisco o pescado • Colorante alimentario • Aceite de oliva virgen extra • Media taza de cerveza sin enfriar
Elaboración de la paella de marisco: Paella paso a paso…. Lo primero que vamos a hacer es cocinar los mejillones, los limpiamos raspando las barbas y todo lo que tienen adherido
a las conchas. Los ponemos en una cacerola tapada y los sacamos en cuanto se abran, les quitamos la concha y reservamos, dejamos algunos con una de las conchas.
Pelamos las gambas, dejamos algunas sin pelar, y cortamos la sepia en trozos, las almejas las lavamos bien bajo el grifo de agua fría, reservamos todo. Ponemos en la paellera un chorreón de aceite de oliva virgen extra y añadimos los pimientos cortados en trozos regulares, cuando comiencen a dorarse incorporamos un majado que hacemos en el mortero con los granos de pimienta, la sal, los ajos, el perejil y las hebras de azafrán. Mezclamos y cuando está cocinado añadimos los tomates rallados, cocinamos un par de minutos e incorporamos la sepia y las almejas. Dejamos que se cocine todo hasta que las almejas se abran. En este momento ya podemos añadir el arroz. Añadimos los mejillones sin la concha y las gambas peladas. Vertemos el agua caliente o caldo, un poco de colorante alimentario y mezclamos. Repartimos por la superficie las gambas sin pelar, unos cuantos mejillones con su concha, unas cigalas o lo que tengáis. Cuando el caldo rompa a hervir, bajamos un poco el fuego y dejamos cocinar unos 20 minutos. Aquí le pueden rosear media taza de cerveza y taparlo de nuevo. Cuando ha pasado este tiempo tapamos con un paño y dejamos reposar unos 4 o 5 minutos.
