Which was your first established business?

Armand: My first established business was Hunk-O-Mania, a high-end male revue and strip club in New York City. Armand: My vision is always to chase more significant potential and growth. Nobody is perfect from the beginning and is perfect in the end. People who are genuinely successful love what they’re doing, are always high on life and are as grateful for their journey as they are the destination. They don’t need many friends or drugs to feel good and appreciate the benefits of a positive mindset, learning, and growing for all their experiences along the way. That is true success.

Armand: Be consistent and stay on course.

What drives you?

Armand: My biggest motivation and driver is seeking ways to use resources to create life-changing possibilities for my family and others. When times get hard, I think about my children and the exposure and opportunities I want them to have. My money is designated to make moments and experiences for those I love and those less fortunate. It’s all the motivation I need to keep hustling and growing my businesses.

How would you define yourself?

Armand: I would define myself by my passion for being a great role model and father to my children and leaving a legacy in the world.

I pursue whatever I can do to give back, and I’m always looking for new opportunities. I also work out at least four times a week and focus on my health as a permanent part of my lifestyle!

Armand: I’ve been fortunate to be recognized and featured in many high-ranked publications and magazines. I feel very blessed and happy to be able to share the benefits of my notoriety and worldwide recognition with my family and friends. Who do you admire?

Armand: Arnold Schwarzenegger is someone I admire and appreciate. His advice is very much in line with my advice, and I think we can all learn something from his chosen path.

Why is your book so successful? When did you write it, and why?

Armand: Unparalleled Success, published in 2019, was a way to give back to society and inspire someone to pursue their dream, as I did! Throughout my journey to becoming successful, I made many mistakes but learned a lot with each setback, and I am trying to prevent my readers from avoiding these same mistakes I made. The life lessons in this book comprise a formula for anyone’s success if they are willing to adapt its principles and make the required sacrifices, especially when starting out.

Cultura en Faena.

Faena anuncia la próxima exhibición de Project Room: Baila este Vals de Christina Pettersson.

La primera exhibición del 2023 de Faena se llevará a cabo hasta el 24 de febrero en el Project Room. Se trata de un carnaval gótico que proyecta siluetas de criaturas en una sincronía de valses entre las que se encuentran manglares, palmitos, musgo español, zorros, mapaches, halcones garzos, aves marinas y ratas, explorando los ecosistemas nativos de Miami.

Esta exhibición evoca la flora y la fauna que una vez fueron parte del ecosistema de Miami Beach y que fueron desplazados por la urbe. Es como un paisaje fúnebre y apocalíptico que baila un vals en donde Petterson rinde homenaje a un inframundo de siluetas que exploran la historia, la sociología y la ciencia ambiental a través de la proyección y los títeres.

En parte cuento de hadas, en parte pesadilla, estos seres, formados de papel mache, recortes de carton y otros elementos se proyectan a gran escala en el espacio de la instalación como si se tratara de una procesión fúnebre.

FAENA ART ANNOUNCES DEBUT EXHIBITION OF 2023, CHRISTINA PETTERSSON: TAKE THIS

WALTZ IN THE PROJECT ROOM,

Faena’s first exhibition of 2023 will take place until February 24 in the Project Room. It is a gothic carnival that projects silhouettes of creatures in a waltzing synchronicity among which are mangroves, hearts of palm, Spanish moss, foxes, raccoons, hawks, seabirds, and rats, exploring the native ecosystems of Miami.

This exhibit evokes the flora and fauna that were once part of the Miami Beach ecosystem and have been displaced by the city. It’s like a waltzing, apocalyptic deathscape where Petterson pays homage to an underworld of silhouettes exploring history, sociology and environmental science through projection and puppetry. Part fairy tale, part nightmare, these beings, made of papier-mâché, cardboard cutouts, and other elements, are projected on a large scale into the installation space as if it were a funeral procession.

The Project Room at Faena art in Miami serves as a platform for artistic innovation and encourages artists to explore new facets of their practice. Christina Petterson is a Miami-based Swedish artist who explores large-scale drawing, painting, multimedia works, and the interpretation of resurrection and disappearance, often referencing classical mythology and literature.

Home prices national wide still remain positive

Existing-home sales retreated for the eleventh consecutive month in December, according to the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). Three of the four major U.S. regions tracked by NAR recorded month-over-month drops, while sales in the West were unchanged. All regions experienced year-over-year declines.

Total existing-home sales – completed transactions that include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and co-ops – decreased 1.5% from November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.02 million in December.

The median existing-home price for all housing types in December was $366,900, a 2.3% increase from December 2021 ($358,800), with prices higher in all four regions. It’s now 130 consecutive months of year-over-year increases, the longest-running streak on record.

Home prices nationwide are still positive, though mildly and markets in roughly half of the country are likely to offer potential buyers discounted prices compared to last year.

Properties typically remained on the market 26 days in December, up from 24 days in November and 19 days in December 2021. Of the homes sold in December 2022, 57% were on the market for less than a month.

BIOPOLÍMEROS LA REALIDAD DE LOS

Hay una franja abismal que separa el mito de la leyenda. Al primero lo alimenta la fantasía y está marcado por la utopía como proyecto de la imaginación; mientras que la leyenda se sustenta en el optimismo de la aventura humana. Desde la antigua Grecia hasta Roma, el concepto de belleza se enfocó en encontrar el mayor grado de perfección posible de la figura humana.

Puede advertirse en el culto rendido por la cultura grecorromana al perfil de mujeres y hombres. El mito griego elevó a Afrodita al modelo perfecto de belleza, mientras que Roma consideró a Venus como su modelo de perfección, delineada bellamente por Botticelli, en 1484, en su obra “El nacimiento de Venus”, conservada en la Galería de Arte de Uffici, en Florencia Italia.

Dominada por estas ideas y su fuerza moral, la modernidad no se conformó con llevar la belleza al arte pictórico o la escultura, sino que se interesó por plasmarla en la misma humanidad de hombres y mujeres. Prorrumpió así el esteticismo y en 1824 se descubrió la silicona y su utilización. En 1928 se aplicó, por primera vez, para cubrir un defecto craneal. En 1940 se consideró una sustancia inerte apta para aplicarla en humanos. Pero fue la Segunda Guerra Mundial la que catapultó el uso de los biopolímeros, de la misma manera que el bélico fenómeno dio inicio a la cirugía plástica, en sus modalidades de estética, cosmética o de embellecimiento, pero sobre todo como reparadora.

Estos procedimientos quirúrgicos tienen por objeto modificar el aspecto de una persona, mejorar su apariencia “sin efectos funcionales u orgánicos”.

Luego en los años 70’s los biopolímeros se aplicaron a pacientes del VIH para hacer rellenos faciales que mejoraban su aspecto desgarbado, y ya en los ochentas se les dio un uso abiertamente cosmético.

Los biopolímeros son sustancias sintéticas, no biodegradables, derivadas del petróleo, cuya presentación se hace en forma de gel o silicona, con diferentes pesos moleculares. Su nombre científico es polidimetil siloxano, y es utilizado para hacer rellenos que aumentan el volumen de algunas partes del cuerpo como cara, manos, vulva, piernas y su uso más extendido en glúteos. Dado que los biopolímeros producen consecuencias nefastas en el organismo humano, la comunidad médica no recomienda su uso, como quedó claro en el congreso de cirugía plástica realizado en Cartagena, Colombia, en el 2015.

Desde su aplicación, los biopolímeros pueden causar daños o estos pueden manifestarse mucho después. También pueden presentar síntomas como alteraciones del estado de ánimo, irritación, depresión y dolor articular entre otros. Otros síntomas específicos son el dolor en el área de aplicación, cambio de coloración en la piel, que va desde rojiza a rojizo ocre llamado alogenosis química o iatrogénica, nombre este que le fue dado por el Doctor Coiffman, cirujano plástico colombiano. También hay detección de masas circulares a la palpación y lesiones abiertas en la piel que pueden llegar a infectarse, así como granulomas y endurecimiento en el área. Generalmente tienden a migrar a diferentes partes del cuerpo. En mi experiencia personal tengo claro que con el paso de los años aumenta el volumen y el peso en el área de la aplicación. Adicionalmente, estas sustancias desencadenan una respuesta autoinmune con cambios histológicos inflamatorios.

El biopolímero no es la única sustancia que ha sido aplicada en el cuerpo; también se conocen otras sustancias como aceites de origen vegetal, de castor, aceites para vehículos, cemento para uso odontológico y se conocen casos en los que se ha aplicado parafina líquida. Cuando los biopolímeros se aplican en los glúteos pueden migrar a diferentes partes, como espalda, cadera, región lumbar, muslos, ingles y genitales. También pueden dirigirse hacia las piernas y producir en algunos casos taponamiento linfático.

TRATAMIENTO

Se recomienda siempre tener una valoración con médicos especialistas, y utilizar pruebas como el TAC 3D para detectar entre otros la cantidad y ubicación, y demás exámenes prequirúrgicos. Es importante decir que es imposible retirar la totalidad de esta sustancia. Su tratamiento es quirúrgico y puede realizarse de dos maneras: con la técnica abierta o la cerrada. En algunos casos los pacientes requieren más de una cirugía, complementándola con la parte estética. En la extracción se evidencia micro o macro esferas que se asemejan a una capsula de vitamina E donde la cubierta es de polímero y su contenido interno es la silicona.

Durante mi practica de 17 años en el retiro de biopolímeros, he tenido casos de todo tipo. En la actualidad, trabajo con la fundación para la mujer llamada “Beauty Sin Límites”, donde procuramos generar conciencia social y alertamos sobre el efecto del uso de sustancias. En conclusión, el uso de los biopolímeros es perjudicial para el cuerpo humano, por lo que no debe avalarse su práctica. En cambio, hay nuevos elementos por los que pueden reemplazarse, tales como el Ácido Hialurónico, fillers PRP, plasma rica en plaquetas, y grasa autógena o implantes, en área de glúteos.

yurveda considera el sueño como uno de los pilares de la buena salud. Nuestro ritmo interior de sueño debe estar en armonía con los ritmos de la naturaleza, específicamente con la luz del día. El insomnio (anidra) es el resultado de desequilibrio del Dosha Vata en el cuerpo. Asimismo, el desequilibrio de los otros doshas puede causar falta de oxigenación de las células del cerebro y aumento de la sensibilidad del sistema nervioso. Si estás experimentando dificultad para dormir en la noche; te despiertas constantemente; te cuesta trabajo volverte a dormir; te levantas demasiado temprano; o te sientes demasiado cansado al ir al trabajo; sin duda alguna sufres de cierto grado de insomnio.

Algunas de sus causas incluyen: Exceso de trabajo o de pensamientos; tener una dieta inapropiada y un estilo de vida errático; tomar demasiado café; trabajar en la computadora tarde por la noche; no tener un horario constante de comidas; ir a la cama tarde; comer exceso de alimentos fríos y secos; o reprimir las emociones.

Para aliviar los síntomas del insomnio, Ayurveda recomienda enfocarse en balancear los desequilibrios en el cuerpo a través de suplementos herbales, una dieta personalizada y un estilo de vida apropiado. Además, la relajación mental juega un rol muy importante. Meditación, ejercicios de respiración y algunas posturas de Yoga pueden ser de gran ayuda.

Romantic Dinner For Two FONDUE

Originating from the Canton de Fribourg, in Switzerland, home of the Gruyere and Vacherin Cheeses, Fondue is a Swiss melted cheese dish served in a romantically shared pot over a portable stove heated with a candle or spirit lamp and eaten by dipping bread or the items of your choice into the cheese using longstemmed forks.

DIRECTIONS

La ciudad se prepara para una nueva edición del Miami Open

Cada vez falta menos para la trigésima octava edición del Miami Open, que tendrá lugar del 20 de marzo al 2 de abril de 2023 en el Hard Rock Stadium, Miami (Florida).

La superficie es dura y participarán 96 hombres y 96 mujeres en la modalidad de individuales, además de 32 parejas en dobles.

Como todos los años, el torneo quiere contar con las figuras del circuito. Luego del retiro de Roger Federer, cinco veces ganador del certamen, los máximos exponentes del mundo del tenis son Rafael Nadal, quien nunca pudo coronar en Miami pese a llegar a la final en cinco oportunidades, y Novak Djokovic, seis veces campeón del M1000 de Florida. Habrá que ver si podrán decir presentes. En el caso del español, su presencia estaría prácticamente descartada debido a la reciente lesión sufrida en el Abierto de Australia. El mallorquín, actual número 2 del mundo, sufrió una lesión grado 2 en el Psoas Iliaco de su pierna izquierda, que le demandará entre 6 y 8 semanas de recuperación, y la lógica indicaría que no estará presente en Miami y retorne al circuito en la gira de polvo de ladrillo. Por su parte, el serbio y número 5 del circuito, sigue lidiando con los permisos para poder ingresar a Estados Unidos a disputar torneos por no haberse vacunado contra el coronavirus.

Asimismo, se cuenta con la presencia Carlos Alcaraz, actual número uno del mundo y llamado a ser la máxima estrella del circuito en los próximos años, el noruego Casper Ruud, 3 del mundo y finalista en Roland Garros y US Open en 2022, Tsisipas, Rublev, Augier-Aliassime, Medvedev, Rune, entre otras figuras destacadas,

mientras que los créditos locales serán Fritz y Tiafoe.

Sin dudas, la cita en Miami es de las más importantes en el calendario. Es uno de los torneos con mayor prestigio y tradición dentro del circuito de la ATP.

Miami prepares for a new edition of the Miami Open

The thirty-eighth edition of the Miami Open takes place from March 20 to April 2, 2023 at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami (Florida).

Ninety-six men and 96 women will participate in the singles modality and 32 couples in doubles.

After Roger Federer’s retirement, a five-time winner of the tournament, the most outstanding exponents in the world of tennis are Rafael Nadal, who was never able to win in Miami despite reaching the final five times, and Novak Djokovic, six-time champion of the M1000 of Florida. In the case of the Spaniard, his presence would be practically ruled out due to the recent injury suffered at the Australian Open. Currently number two in the world, he suffered a grade 2 injury in his left leg, requiring between 6 and 8 weeks of recovery. The Serbian, number 5 on the circuit, continues to deal with permit issues to enter the United States.
