FINDING YOUR PERSONAL PASSION IN LIFE I typically am asked how you can determine what your personal passion is as most people are unclear how to find their purpose in life. I ask them to determine what makes them truly happy and how do they integrate that into their life. Too often, we walk around wishing that life was different. Do you want your life to be different? If you do, begin by answering these three basic questions, and don’t put it off; start now: 1. What do you love to do? 2. What makes you happy? 3. What excites you? Find a quiet place to listen for the answers. Give yourself some time and sit with the silence. Sitting with the silence is the hardest part. Believe it or not, you have the answers inside of you, but life is so busy you put other things ahead of finding the true meaning in your life. Quiet time and silence is a way of finding that “centered knowing” inside of you. Take the time right now to go off by yourself. That may require that you escape from the kids. Grab a pad of paper and a pillow and lock yourself in the bathroom and sit quietly listening for the answers, or call a friend who knows your goal and ask her to come over so you can take a quiet walk in order to ponder these three questions. Do whatever it takes to get away and listen for the silence. Ask yourself, “What excites me?” If you have to get up a half hour early for that quiet time, just like the Nike commercial says, “Just do it.”
that would create more happiness in Carol Juergensen Sheets your life. Once you have answered these questions, you will have to carve out some time to devote to creating more of this in your life. It will require that you write out an action plan that uses the KISS method, “keep it simple…simple.” But, before we get into the plan, I want to make sure you did the first part of this exercise, because it would be impossible to reach your goals without answering those three simple questions. Now, don’t be surprised if you find that you are already doing things in your life that bring about true meaning. Many of my clients have discovered that their list includes things they were already doing. For instance, raising their children, teaching a Sunday school class, coaching a child’s softball team, cultivating a garden or cleaning the car might actually fit into the category of making you happy. If these things are already occurring figure out a way of organizing it differently so that you can spend more time doing it. Other clients have found things on their list that they would really like to pursue, but they aren’t sure how to master them. Be patient. Finding true passion is a process. Remember, if you want more in your life you have to make it happen. Use this column to help organize your dreams. One of my favorite sayings is “there will only be one of you at all times, so fearlessly have the courage to find and be yourself”.

Estate Planning and Assisted Reproduction Technology by Ann Schneider & Jennifer Hostetter Most people do not think these two fields of law relate, but they actually can be interconnected. And if you have ever gone through any type of assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedure or fertility treatment, it is very important to discuss this with your estate planning attorney. If you are in the process of going through a form of assisted reproductive technology, it may be wise to speak to an estate planning attorney now to prepare documents while you or your spouse are going through these procedures. When planning your estate, it is important to plan and discuss what you wish to happen to any stored sperm, eggs or embryos you may have. The laws governing assistive reproductive technology differ greatly from state to state. In addition, many states, including Indiana, have yet to address issues concerning the treatment of stored genetic material upon an individual’s death. Working with an estate planning attorney will allow you to create an estate plan which takes these matters into consideration. Your
estate planning documents can then include direction for what should be done with stored genetic materials upon your death. Additionally, if you are going through some type of surrogacy, you have the ability to make plans in the event something were to happen to you, your spouse or the surrogate. Fertility clinics across the nation have varying agreements and contracts that range from very basic to very thorough. The storage or final disposition of your stored genetic material may have been something you have already addressed with the fertility clinic. Your estate planning attorney should review any agreement you have signed with a fertility clinic to ensure that your estate planning documents will be effective at carrying out your wishes. If you are considering, are going through, or have already gone through some type of ART procedure, I encourage you to seek out an estate planning attorney. ART is a vastly growing area of the law and it is important to plan for the future.

Focused on Your Future
Collaborative Law: Helping Parting Couples Find Peace While you’re going through a divorce, you will be inclined to dwell on the past. But to find resolution, you need to focus on the future. With Collaborative Law, we can help you prepare for a healthy new start by reaching an agreement with your spouse that takes the priorities of both of you into account. Collaborative Law minimizes conflict and embraces transparency to lessen the mental and emotional damage that divorce can cause. It gives both parties control over the process. While proving to be successful across the country, the concept of Collaborative Family Law is new to Indiana, but we’re quickly discovering it’s the best way for many families to move forward in a civil, respectful way.
Parties retain separate attorneys, and all four people work together as a team. By pledging not to go to court, spouses retain control of important decisions, such as matters concerning children and finances. The process focuses on mutual respect and open discussions as both lawyers work toward the same result. Not only are individual concerns addressed, but they often can be solved more quickly out of court, saving money and emotional stress. The end of a marriage already weighs on you enough. Don’t make the divorce a battlefield. Begin with respect, and you can find a peaceful new beginning. Mary Foley Panszi and Daun A. Weliever, trained and experienced in collaborative law, can guide you smoothly through this difficult life transition.

Shelly Aristizabal Business Women Connect
Live the Perfect Day by Shelly Aristizabal Priority living occurs when your business and life work together. The patterns of execution that cause you to be a successful business woman also cause you to be a successful mother, wife & volunteer. Priority living is a 360 degree approach to living on purpose and doing business on purpose. Ultimately, by following the following principles, you will do what’s necessary to earn more money in less time with less stress. PRINCIPLE #1: Increase Your Passion! Passion is what success is all about. You have to love your business. Be excited by the prospect of having a perfect day, of going home 100% fulfilled every day. PRINCIPLE #2: Reduce Your Procrastination! You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great. Take action now. Don’t let fear stop you. When you have faith in the future, the knowledge and skills to do what you need to do, and momentum from repeating an action until it is a new habit, then there will be no need to procrastinate. PRINCIPLE #3: Unlock Your Potential! You have more potential than you think. As Norman Vincent Peale says, “Anybody can do just about anything with himself that he really wants to and makes up his mind to do. We are all capable of greater things than we realize.”
it’s a matter of when. But you must persevere, especially when you’re faced with your toughest challenges. Don’t ever give up. PRINCIPLE #6: Make New Promises. Live Out Your Priorities! Promises are critical to priority living in several important ways. -Promises eliminate confusion. When you make a promise, it helps you focus. - Promise-making creates a more natural pull to the activities that you know will give you the life you desire. Promises negate compromise. It is hard to be out of sync with your promises for any length of time. The promise will always bring you back to the central behavior and action that is critical to success. Promises increase commitment. When you make a promise that is values based, it is easier to have the commitment for that promise. The more you execute the promise, the more momentum you develop for other growth tasks. PRINCIPLE #7: Be purposeful in all that you do! When you are purposeful in all that you do, life changes. There could be as many as 50 things in a day that you used to say yes to that you’ll now say no to. Make every choice in what you do, when you do it, why you do it, and how you do it on purpose. This filter will make life and business complete.
PRINCIPLE #4: Perfect Your Performance! To perfect your performance, you must be in the habit of practicing it. The goal is to build your systems so you are doing the right things the right way. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, “It takes less time to do a thing right than it does to explain why you did it wrong.” PRINCIPLE #5: Power Up Your Perseverance! Remember the train that made it to the top of the mountain by saying, “I think I can. I think I can.” Like the train, your success isn’t a matter of if,
You can have the perfect day. Start implementing the seven principles for priority living today. By doing so, your perfect day…and your ability to earn more money in less time with less stress… will arrive, quicker than you think.
