After
Carolyn's Story
About a year ago, I’d given up on ever losing the weight I had put on over the past 10 years. I tried everything out there and nothing worked. One day I saw an ad for SuperVision Weight Loss in Castleton. I called them and decided to try their HCG Weight Loss Program. Before I started the program in September of 2012and was amazed how easily the weight came off. The staff at SuperVision Weight Loss were very supportive and helpful. They were always available to answer my questions. They even called me to help with my accountability. Yes, I had to follow the program, but with their direction I was able to lose weight and keep it off. I completed two rounds and lost 52 lbs. Losing the weight made me realize – I wasn’t as old as I felt! My blood pressure is down, my cholesterol is improving. My health, overall, is significantly improved from a year ago. It was absolutely worth it! I feel alive again and it’s all because I walked into SuperVision Weight Loss, Castleton and let them get me started on a new path.

Are You Being BOLD Enough? Risky Business By Business Coach Sheryl Matthys
Founder of www.SuccessfulWomenMadeHere.com Each month at Successful Women Made Here (SWMH), I interview a thriving businesswoman. One particular month we featured Ambre Crockett of Ambre Blends. Prior to the event, Ambre acknowledged to me she wasn’t keen on speaking in public. But, she followed through as she hit the stage with me in front of our live attendees. In attendance, Todd Connor of rtv6 who was so captivated with her story, asked her to be his first story of a “MADE in INDIANA” series on ABC The Indy Channel. Her risk of putting herself out there paid off to now an audience of thousands.
Here are a few strategies to turn risky business into a smart action plan.
What risks are you and/or your business taking to move to the next level? As in life, every decision contains some element of risk. No matter what you do, there’s always a chance that something will go wrong. What’s the risk of your NOT taking action?
Spot a new trend: Change in a market, economy, and community can be viewed as risky or a wonderful opportunity for new endeavors. The action is to recognize the shift early on, and act on it. This is what’s referred to as an “early adaptor” and will have you viewed as the LEADER in that arena.
Some decisions may appear riskier than others, but those are usually the decisions where you’ll gain the most reward. Making a profit, gaining positive press coverage, getting that promotion, increasing clients and/or sales, are all about knowing how much risk to take. It’s plain and simple – if you don’t take much risk, you’re probably not going to have a lot to gain. What are you doing to stand out? And, know that to stand out most likely involves taking a risk – possibly delving into unchartered territory for you. Where others may want to run due to fear of failure – the smart risk-taker keeps their focus on what’s to be gained. But, being a risk-taker in business is not the same as being reckless. Why does the word “risk” have such a negative connotation to most of us, implying danger and possible loss? Risk involves learning how to manage decisions and outcomes properly, confronting your fears, and creating strategies for success. 6
Make your business a niche market: Even huge corporations can’t offer everything for everyone. Go after the market that others failed to spot. There are more people in a niche than you can imagine. Play directly to them.
Make your competitor’s weakness your strength: Smart business people connect with their customers/clients’ desires and needs; and build relationships. That quality can help you capitalize on your competitors’ shortcomings and gain you raving fans. List what scares you and then make a plan to do it: For instance, if you’re nervous speaking in front of others – I challenge you to put a speaking engagement of any kind on your calendar NOW. Confront your fears and you will be amazed at the incredible leaps your business will take in the coming months when you no longer let fear dictate how far you’ll go. How about, “Taking the Risk” to join us at a monthly Successful Women Made Here event or schedule your VIP Day strategy session with me on discovering your purpose? Do You Allow Your Breakups and Breakdowns To Create Breakthroughs? We all handle crises different. Women have a tendency to choose how they will face difficult times. My belief is that you are far more successful if you handle a situation and look for the breakthroughs. Unfortunately when bad things happen, it can be difficult to determine how a crisis might work in your favor. However if you adopt the mindset that no matter what happens to you in life, you are going to look for the breakthrough, it will take your life to the next level. If you've read any of my columns you know that I am not a believer of victimization. When you've been downsized, you're having difficulty finding a job, your child is acting out, or your spouse is walking away, these experiences can afford you an opportunity to reframe. When you reframe, it is as if you take the current picture and size it up and frame it so that you can grow stronger from it or learn from it. I know you may be saying to yourself "that's not my MO, I feel like breaking down and often times I want to lick my wounds in the process." Well it is normal to feel sad and angry feelings but once processed, I would encourage you to work on asking yourself "how can I grow from what appears to be such a devastating situation?" What do you have to lose to make the decision that whatever happens to you in life is an opportunity to grow stronger? This requires emotional IQ or intelligence. Emotional intelligence means you take situations and make the choice to learn how to deal with that in a way that benefits you. How would you rate your emotional intelligence? Do you assess most of your situations with an attitude that you're not going to let this difficult situation keep you down? If you're wondering how you can further increase your emotional intelligence, you almost always have to look for the gratitude in the devastation. Despite the fact that 8
your situation looks like a major catastrophe; you ask yourself..."How might this be a good thing?"
Carol Juergensen Sheets
Let's take some common situations and see if we can increase an emotionally intelligent response. If you have just found out that your promotion was denied, how might you look at it with a sense of gratitude? You might look at the situation and say "it is time that I look at going back to school. I've been putting this need on the back burner but now I know I am truly ready to take my life to the next level.” Let's say that you have been recently diagnosed with cancer. After feeling the feelings and acknowledging them, this may be an opportunity for you to say, “I am going to deepen my relationships with the people that count and attend to the things that really matter.” How can you as a parent possibly find happiness in the struggles that your child is going through? You might tell yourself, "This is an opportunity for me to deepen my faith that things will work out and that we are all taken care of." What I promise you is that if you increase your emotional intelligence, you will be able to cope with life better, feel less like a victim, and strengthen both your sense of self and your relationships because of an empowered attitude. Increasing emotional intelligence takes time but it is well worth the investment! Carol Juergensen Sheets LCSW PCC is a psychotherapist and personal life coach. Spotlight Research Leads to Cosmetic Advancements For 20-years, Chernoff Cosmetic Surgeons has brought state-of-the-art cosmetic procedures and exceptional patient care to Indianapolis. Advanced surgical, non-surgical, and aesthetic treatments combined with an extraordinary commitment to research and results have earned the practice a reputation that is difficult to match. In addition to having one of the largest and most contemporary Cosmetic and Laser Centers in the Midwest, Dr. Chernoff is proud to bring exciting research and new cosmetic and health improving treatments to Indianapolis.
Improving Migraine Symptoms and Triggers
A minimally invasive surgical treatment for migraine headaches has been recently published. Dr. Chernoff has treated hundreds of patients who suffer from migraine headaches with Botox, which was FDA approved for this purpose several years ago. Now, patients can undergo a one-hour procedure, which meticulously releases pressure on selected nerves responsible for the propagation of migraine headaches. Both therapies work by deactivating specific nerves that trigger muscle contractions, and causing the painful headache. Patients notice decreased severity and frequency of migraines from the treatment. Additionally, patients experience relief from other migraine triggers and problems including being bothered by light and noise, difficulty concentrating, blurring vision, and drooping eyelids. This treatment can also improve the appearance of droopy eyebrows.
Fat Injections for Cosmetic & Health Improvement
For years, Chernoff Cosmetic Surgeons has been successfully using a patient’s own fat to add volume, fill lines, improve skin tone, texture, and quality. Now, as a member of the Investigational Cell Surgical Research Network, Dr. Chernoff is studying health benefits of a patient’s own fat to improve a variety of conditions. The process uses the Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) containing adult stem cells that naturally occur in our own fat. Dr. Chernoff’s investigational research is part of the California Stem Cell Treatment Center’s proprietary protocol. As a result of new research, Dr. Chernoff offers patients another new purpose for fat. This treatment helps patients with Reynaud’s Disease improve blood flow and circulation to their hands and feet. Reynaud’s causes excessively reduced blood flow in the fingers, toes, and occasionally other areas. Reynaud’s is a painful and bothersome condition. The procedure involves injecting a small amount of your own fat, into areas of the hands and feet. Since your own fat is rich in stem cells, the tissue regenerates, heals, and patients notice a dramatic improvement in circulation.
Bio-stimulation for Body Contouring and Improved Health
Stubborn areas of fat, resistant to exercise are discouraging. While there is no substitute for consistent exercise and a healthy diet, a new and innovative treatment exists to target stubborn fat and improve health. This new treatment, Ultratone, uses the same principles of exercise and muscle building combined with 16

Greg Chernoff, M.D. F.R.C.S.(C) state-of-the-art technology and science. Even more exciting, the treatment offers health benefits during the normal course of treatment. Chernoff Cosmetic Surgeons, has served as the primary patient study site in the United States measuring patients’ body improvement and health benefits. The treatment combines two techniques. First, ultrasound waves penetrate deep into the tissue, vibrating and weakening the fat cell walls. Next, bio-stimulation provides deep and high intensity muscle contraction and stimulation, including deep fibers not reachable by exercise alone. This deep muscle stimulation uses the fat as fuel, burns stubborn fat, and strengthen muscles, up to 1-week after the treatment is complete. In addition to an improved physique, our patients have experienced improved strength, physical endurance, and health benefits from the treatments. Dr. Chernoff’s health data compiled from the clinical study shows decreased BMI, decreased cholesterol, decreased blood glucose, and improved lipids. Additionally our patients say they feel invigorated after the treatment due to endorphins released similar to the feeling after a good workout. Dr. Chernoff has dedicated himself to the art and science of medicine, patient care, and aging well. After medical school, Dr. Chernoff completed a five-year residency followed by three years of intensive fellowship training in Facial Plastic, Reconstructive Surgery, Laser Therapy, Breast Rejuvenation and Body Contouring. This training provided him with comprehensive expertise matched by very few. His innate aesthetic vision, meticulous surgical skills, and his gentle humility, provide his patients with a quality of care that is second to none. Dr. Chernoff combines meticulous surgical techniques with the latest non-surgical therapies to give his patients consistent rejuvenation results. Julie Leonetti is a Registered Nurse and has over 25-years of experience in cosmetic medicine. Julie is a certified injection specialist and trains nurses and physicians in the art of meticulous injection techniques. Julie is an expert in surgical and non-surgical options. She has performed thousands of injectable and laser treatments and instructs healthcare professionals on optimal patient care. Julie and Dr. Chernoff spend countless hours educating patients prior to any cosmetic procedure from injectable therapy to surgery. Dr. Chernoff and Julie care for patients everyday after surgery (including weekends) to provide reassurance and follow-up care. Dr. Chernoff is one of the few remaining physicians who will make house calls for patients. Both Julie and Dr. Chernoff live by a “what ever it takes” approach to providing patients with exceptional results.

Reclaim Responsibility for Your Health! Americans spend more per capita on healthcare than any other country in the world , yet 68 percent of us are overweight and approximately 50 percent of adults have chronic health illnesses. Spending in the U.S. on Bea White prescription drugs increased from $40 billion in 1990 to $234 billion in 2008. In 1984, American life expectancy was ranked 11th in the world but plummeted to 40th place by 2010 . What has happened to the vitality of our country? Can you imagine a United States where the average person is healthy and fit, with mental clarity, abundant strength and energy? We call that vitality. Visualize a country where relaxed, vital citizens live peacefully together. Wouldn’t that be incredible? Our goal is to provide information and a fresh perspective so that you can reclaim responsibility for your health and bring back vitality for you, your family and the United States. Yes, the United States! As an American, you have the power to bring back vitality for our country. If you are a mother or the gatekeeper of your family, you most likely plan and prepare the meals, grocery shop, make medical appointments, and provide treatment for minor ailments. You take the lead in educating and training the next generation by your example. If you are single, the good habits you establish now will help you live a healthier, happier and more fulfilled life in addition to being a role model for others. Either way, you have the power! Your first step on the vitality path is to reclaim responsibility for your health. We believe Americans have relinquished responsibility for their vitality by allowing medical professionals and government regulators to dictate what they put in and on their bodies. Americans have the power
to reclaim responsibility for themselves and their families by using their common sense, making efforts to understand their bodies better, and by taking a balanced approach to nourishing, exercising, and cleansing. After reading this book, you will have the knowledge to reclaim responsibility for your vitality.
Current Common Sense Old-fashioned common sense about food and drink used to be just that—common. Everyone knew what healthy eating was. They ate what was fresh and in season. What they couldn’t eat they stored for the future by canning, drying, curing or smoking. Now fast forward to today’s mainstream thinking. The current version of common sense, mass thinking, is relinquished responsibility in disguise. There are so many processed food and drink options today that we don’t know what healthy is or looks like. We’ve allowed professionals and regulators to define “healthy” for us. The U.S. government tells us how many servings from the food pyramid we need each day. Celebrities and soda manufacturers perpetuate the idea that soda refreshes our bodies. Athletes sing the praises of sugarfilled sports drinks and cereal advertisers tell us to feed our families processed sugar, grains and additives from a box because “They’re Gr-r-eat!” Doesn’t that seem strange to you? Are you ready to begin your journey to vitality? If so, please visit VitalityJourney.net to discover vital recipes, free cleanse plans and Vitality Workshops. This is an excerpt from the book, “Bring Back Vitality – Unleash Your Power to Reclaim Vital Health!” by Lori Petrucciani, N.D., and Bea White. Why Have a Pre-Nuptial? By Tamie Jo Morog
When you get married, you have a pre-nuptial whether you realize it or not. If you do not have a written pre-nuptial that refers specifically to your marriage, you have a pre-nuptial that is defined by state statutes and case law. Each marriage has individual facts to the financial aspect of it. Therefore, why not state specifically how you would like to divide the financial assets and debts if the marriage does not succeed. Often people will say to me, “I do not need a pre-nuptial because I do not have any assets or debts.” Today many people will inherit a significant amount of assets. In that regard, if for no other reason, each party should have a pre-nuptial. Some of the standard reasons to have a prenuptial are that one party may be wealthier than another; one party may earn more than their spouse; one party may have a high debt load; a party may own part or all of a business; a party may make a lot less than the other party
and thus may need maintenance. In the State of Indiana, a court cannot order alimony but the parties can agree that one party will pay the other party maintenance if there is a divorce. In a second marriage, a pre-nuptial is also important. There may be children from a prior marriage that both parties want to protect. There may be retirement accounts that one or both parties want to protect. There are different estate statutes that treat a second or third spouse differently than a first spouse. The parties may want to treat the second spouse just like the first spouse is treated. There may also be family heirlooms that the parties want to protect. Though courts often consider the heirlooms and the division of such, a pre-nuptial can state exactly how the heirlooms are to be protected if a divorce occurs. In all cases of marriage, I recommend to the parties obtain a pre-nuptial.

Shelly Aristizabal Business Women Connect
Knowledge is Power by Shelly Aristizabal Often times when we think of a knowledgeable person, he or she is book smart, a graduate of Harvard at the top of the class. Or maybe a scientist or a brain surgeon is our idea of specialized knowledge. What we must understand is that specific knowledge in any area of life can provide an edge. The pursuit of specific knowledge and a constant eagerness to learn -- along with the practical wisdom of applying knowledge to a situation to produce a desired outcome -- are character traits to embrace. We will grow as we constantly seek knowledge and seek experts to teach us about topics ranging from technology to finances to relationships to personal development to health and to leadership.
Dogs begin settling for bones instead of steak. It’s not that they dislike bones or that bones are bad, it’s that they are settling for bones. Take someone who had been in a good relationship for ten years--a good relationship, not a bad one. What they experience year after year is a good relationship. It is relatively easy then to start settling for a good relationship (bone) instead of trying to create a spectacular relationship (steak).
Don’t settle. For some, low self-esteem can make us think we can’t learn. Others can wear a mask of either arrogance that we don’t need to learn or complacency from a belief that more learning isn’t necessary. Many believe that they are fine and don’t desire to learn, yet what are we settling for? Do you have to be broke to want more money? Do you have to hate your job to want something else? Do you have to be on the edge of divorce to want to make your marriage better?
It’s not about changing who you are with. You can make the relationship you are in better. If you have a job, a home, a nice car, and you make a salary that is equal or better than most of your neighbors, it is easy to start setting for a good income instead of creating a spectacular income. Do you believe it is important to pursue excellence and to seek to surpass your current level?
Do you settle for good when you could be creating spectacular? A lifetime goal of learning will keep you young and growing. What good books are you reading? What thought leader’s Podcasts are you listening to in your car? What seminar will you attend in the next few months? It’s a choice. Do dog’s like bones? Most of us would think they do, but they don’t. Dogs like steak; they settle for bones. Think about a dog family making dinner--you know they would give us the bones and keep the steak for themselves. What happens is that we feed the dog bones, bones, bones until they start thinking they like them!
Many people get confused and think, “If I want more, I must be dissatisfied with what I have.” This is untrue; it equates being motivated to being dissatisfied or ties happiness to dissatisfaction. Crazy, huh? Where are you settling for ordinary in your life? What action could you take to create spectacular? Want to live a spectacular life of your dreams? Order the book on it: “This Is Your Year to Design & Live the Life of Your Dreams” www. ShellyAristizabal.com Need to make a quick decision? Ask yourself three questions; “What is the worst that can happen if I do this?” What is the best possible outcome? What is most likely to happen?” If you can live with all three answers -- then go for it!!!
Shelly Aristizabal is the author of This Is Your Year to Design & Live the Life of Your Dreams, a leader in the Community Commerce Industry, Motivational Speaker and the New President of Business Women Connect.
