Welcome 'A-Board' Presidential Appointees

by Krista Mund, Executive Vice President Three members were appointed to the HBA of F-M’s board of directors in September to fill open positions and begin service immediately. We would like to introduce you to them!

Monica Hart Monica Hart Interior Design, Inc. Associate Member

An interior designer for 23 years, Monica Hart owns Monica Hart Interior Design and wants to help the HBA move forward and achieve goals. She served on the Home Builders Care of F-M Foundation board of trustees for six years and was president. Hart also served for 17 years on the Parade of Homes Committee and has volunteered for many events. She says, “My priorities will be learning about the board, educating myself on the goals currently at hand to help go forward and being vocal about the Cass County Career Workforce Academy. I will visit with industry colleagues about the value of an HBA membership including networking.

She believes that the most important issue affecting the housing industry is the cost of building a home, both for builders and consumers.

Mike Lemke Lemke Home Improvements, Inc. Builder Member

Mike Lemke hopes to contribute to the HBA board of directors by way of his experience and knowledge of remodeling and new construction for both commercial and residential. Owner of Lemke Home Improvements for 25 years, he has been involved with the advisory committee for the Herdina Construction Trades Camp and Public Issues Committee. Lemke also serves on the Moorhead Public Schools Citizens Financial Committee.

His top three priorities for the Association are: 1.

maintaining and growing membership,

2.

assisting in the growth of housing on both sides of the river and

3.

ensuring that housing can remain affordable.

Lemke says, “I would like to find opportunities for those members who have limited time to donate to the HBA to increase involvement. I’d also like to see the HBA offer updated training to members and explore ways to be supportive of our local schools in presenting the trades in a positive way.” Agreeing that rising costs have become one of the biggest issues facing
