Jayne and Kerry step into the office We’ve had two new starters join us in the office over the last few weeks. Say ‘hello’ to Jayne and Kerry! Both previously CAREGivers, but will now be taking up more office-based roles of Administrator and Key Player Assistant respectively. Kerry kindly brought in cakes for her first day, as she knows we are way too easy to please… Best of luck in your new roles guys! tead Home Ins

Top Twenty Homecare Award winner CQC Outstanding
Huge congratulations to Bex Taylor who we’ve nominated as Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale’s CAREGiver of the Year for 2019. Bex has been part of the CAREGiver team for nearly 5 years now, getting about with the help of her trusty bicycle, a great mode of transport in the summer but a little more challenging in the winter… She actually does so many miles that she has to replace her bike every 18 months! During her time as a CAREGiver Bex has supported around 26 regular clients and has become invaluable to all those she sees. Well done Bex, congratulations from everyone for a well-deserved nomination.

George celebrates 90th with friends and family Congratulations to George, a client of Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday. CAREGiver Alison was invited to attend a birthday celebration for George, and sent across these pictures, looks like they had a great time!

Haxby Group celebrate ‘Outstanding’ from Care Quality Commission (CQC) Haxby Group, which runs 11 GP surgeries across York and Hull, is celebrating after being rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Previously rated as ‘Good’, it is the first time a GP practice has been given an Outstanding rating in York and the CQC found many examples of how Haxby Group was passionate about providing an innovative and excellent service. In York Haxby Group was rated as ‘Outstanding’ for providing effective, caring and well-led services. It was also rated as ‘Outstanding’ for older people and families, children and young people population groups. Other areas were rated ‘Good’. Haxby Group’s clinical lead Professor Mike Holmes said: “This is absolutely brilliant news and a credit to every member of our team, across all our sites. “This is just the start of our journey to become the best community-based healthcare provider in the region, with a keen focus on patient involvement and staff development so we don’t lose sight of the important things which make us special.”
Haxby Group provides community-based healthcare to more than 60,000 patients across York and Hull. Its team of 250 staff includes more than 100 clinicians and a range of other professions.
ask our wonderful CAREGivers to encourage their clients to get out of the house for a bit of fresh air. Over the long Bank Holiday weekend, we were sent across some great images from CAREGiver’s, who’d done just that. Home Instead client Elizabeth doesn’t need much of an excuse to sit out in the garden to have her lunch in the sunshine, in fact, two CAREGivers sent across pictures over the Bank Holiday weekend of her doing so! Elizabeth said she was really pleased as she has managed to have her lunch outside twice now this year thanks to the glorious weather, and that her garden
is her favourite place. Another CAREGiver, Julie, also sent us across an image of her clients, Diane and Edgar, sat out in their beautiful garden, again making the most of the Easter sunshine, in what was truly a gorgeous weekend.
How are we doing? At Home Instead, we strive to provide the highest quality care service: Care that is compassionate, responsive, empathetic and reliable. It’s our aim to continuously improve and that includes both changing the things you think we’re not so good at and doing the things we do well better. Please share feedback with us so that we can understand what steps we need to take to make Home Instead an even more admirable company. We will shortly be issuing a questionnaire which we ask that you take just a few moments of your time to complete. It really will help us make a huge difference in what we do to go the extra mile in meeting the needs of our clients. The survey is anonymous so we encourage people to be open and honest with their feedback.
