A Timeless Way of Building HANSON LAND & SEA

you’ve lived here on the Coast for any length of time, chances are you’ve heard the name Hanson Land & Sea. Or maybe you’ve seen some of their custom designed projects that dot the landscape from Langdale to Powell River. Ryan and Marlin Hanson are third generation builders and it shows in the passion they have for their work. Over the years they have put together a tight knit crew of skilled carpenters and craftsman, creating a unique combination of contemporary West Coast architecture.

As the name would imply, they have experience in marine construction also. Before focusing primarily on custom homes they made their living pile driving, building piers along the B.C coast. The heavy timbers required to construct piers and docks continue to inspire their designs. Massive beams, simple and strong traditional methods of joinery, and natural materials help to create homes that are built to last for generations. “Utilizing materials native to our area is key for us.
